Over a period of five months, five more bodies are found, all killed in a different manner, but unlike the first, each has a ligature mark around the neck and characters carved into their skin. A member of Mackay’s team recognises the numbers as Bible passages, and it becomes apparent the killer is using the quotations to signify a reason the victim’s death. DNA analysis identifies one of the victims as being a serial rapist sought by the team.
All five victims have something in common; currently engaged in criminal activity or promoting hatred of others. The ligature marks and bible passages suggest one person is responsible; a serial killer. MacKay’s job is to catch that killer but a part of her hopes she will fail.

Jacen Aster is probably sane, and you really shouldn’t listen to rumors that tell you otherwise. You know, just in case. There’s an awful lot of people that claim being a writer requires a certain type of insanity, possibly multiple types of insanity. The reason for this is really quite simple, he likes history far more than he likes people and those places are steeped in periods of history he particularly enjoys. He has a nasty case of wanderlust, which he really rather hopes is permanent, and desires to someday actually have enough money to travel to all the places he wants to go.

Because of his love of travel, he currently keeps no pets, and while he resides once again in the St. Louis area currently, he is unlikely to stay there longer than necessary. He has a strong aversion to humidity, and St. Louis is one of the worst offenders, second only to the coast of Texas in summer. He hopes to wander over to the east coast for a while, though preferably not during hurricane season as he has a powerful fear of a shark decapitating him as it flies through his bedroom window. Eli Celata was born in Rochester, NY and currently attends Binghamton University as a doctoral student in Biological Anthropology. While she spends her days working on human skeletal remains and analyzing the biomechanical properties of the thorax, writing science fiction and fantasy takes her nights and weekends. All spare time is dedicated to the drug that is Twitter, YouTube, and 90s PC games. She is currently replaying Lord of the Realms II. (Unfortunately, the Bishop keeps killing her).

HIGH SUMMONS is her debut. Its sequel, GRIMM REMAINS, is currently scheduled for release in Spring 2017.
