Author Bio:
I am a storyteller of fiction; mystery suspense thrillers without the fairytale endings. I love spinning a tale, adding a dash of thoughtful insight. No ranting or raving, merely a subtle hint of WTF. I don’t believe in fairytales, but do believe in leaving my readers wondering, what if. I test my readers not to peek ahead and discover whodunit, so I leave the plot opened until the last word, the last sentence. I was a wanderer, a nomad of sorts, and met a lot of different people throughout my time. I come to discover we all have in one common attribute, separated by two categories, and that there is no thin gray line or any in-between. There’s only good and evil and I have met both, believe me you. The old adage (most people are good, they have just had a rough go) Hogwash. Bull. What a bunch of malarkey. You are good or you are evil. Night and day. Up and down. In and out. Under and over. Ying and Yang. Life is a consistency of twos. So get your SHE-IT together and make life on this planet memorable for the better part of what your existence is for. Stop making excuses and blaming everyone and everything. Okay, so I can rant a bit, but I wanted to get that off my soul. The short of it is; I love telling stories. Wherever it takes me, so be it. I was born to be a storyteller, so I am fulfilling my dream, my way. Born and raised in a small town in upstate New York, I contracted and managed to survive Tuberculosis in the 50s, Polio in the 60s, all before the age of thirteen, when I moved with my mother and stepfather to a 75-acre farmland where life took on a subtle hint of strange changes. I have enjoyed tales of mystery suspense since a very young age. Way before the internet ever was even heard of. I would write stories on scraps of paper. Then, mother gave me a typewriter she bought at a garage sale. I mailed query letters, synopsis, chapters back when you had to go to the post office, and waited, and waited, and waited some more, only to receive rejection letters. Time passes, reality sets in. As with any youth, pressed times and lack of funds, along with dissatisfactions, tend to build a wall, and finding the gate is key. Our choice is a choice we make, and at times we make the wrong choice and we get lost in the confusion of the world’s wonders. We lose our way along the path and we take that mistaken turn at the fork. But if we are true to ourselves, and keep searching along that path, we just may finally find our way back to the gate, and with the key in hand, can step on through. That key is to establish oneself if not in success, merely being content with oneself if nothing else. Doing and living and finding in your self the true end to it all, realizing what really was important in the beginning remains to be as true as if it never left us in the first place. Live your dream if only in your mind, and be thankful you have a mind in which to live your dream.

Rope on Fire by Mark Parragh
About Rope on Fire by Mark Parragh:
The John Crane series – making espionage fun again!
John Crane is a highly trained secret agent whose agency suddenly vanished. He’s all dressed up with nowhere to spy. Josh Sulenski is an Internet prodigy with some serious James Bond fantasies and more money than 37 countries. Together, they’re out to save the world…in style.
Rope on Fire is John Crane’s explosive debut adventure, a story of two men on unfamiliar ground and on a collision course that will rewrite both their destinies.
John Crane: the Agent. When the U.S. government suddenly shuts down the top secret Hurricane Group during his second field mission, Crane is left an agent without an agency. Adrift in Key West, he is approached by Internet billionaire Josh Sulenski, who asks Crane to find out why one of his charitable projects is under attack. From the rain forests of Puerto Rico to the back alleys of Eastern Europe. Crane finds himself with no authority and no backup as he takes on corrupt police officers and smugglers. For the first time, he’s on his own with just his wits and a no-limit credit card.
Branislav Skala: the gangster. Skala’s ruthlessness and ambition helped him claw his way up from the gutters of communist Czechslovakia to rule a criminal empire. Skala thinks he’s reached the top of the heap and is ready to retire to his palatial country estate—until he discovers a whole new game of transnational power blocs, capital networks, and vicious battles among factions competing to shape the world. Skala wants a seat at this new table, and he has a plan to get one. It’s a plan that puts him squarely in John Crane’s sights.
When their destinies collide, Branislav Skala will learn that this new game doesn’t follow the same rules he’s used to. And John Crane will find a broken laptop with the power to change his life forever.
Rope on Fire will be free on October 15 and 16 to welcome new readers and introduce the John Crane series.
This edition of Rope on Fire also includes the bonus short story I Hate to Die, and an invitation to join the Hurricane (Reading) Group, the John Crane fan group, and download a free copy of the John Crane novella, Bird Dogs.

Author Bio:
Growing up in rural Virginia, Mark Parragh seized on stories—spy stories in particular—to escape the isolation and monotony of real life. He grew up with a deep love for old James Bond movies and Mission Impossible reruns on TV, and survived on a cache of forgotten paperbacks he discovered in the attic. He devoured books by authors like Alistair MacLean, Eric Ambler, and Robert Ludlum when he was clearly too young and impressionable to be reading such things.
As an adult, he has worked as a media and trade journalist and as a story editor in the film industry. There was also that summer in college sawing loaves of bread into french toast fingers with a band saw from before midnight until 7:00 a.m., which explains his strong dislike for the smell of cooking eggs.
Mark Parragh is the author of the John Crane series of spy thrillers. He created John Crane out of a sense that, for all its strengths, modern spy fiction has lost the sense of fun of classic spy stories like the Connery Bond films or the Modesty Blaise novels. The Crane series aims to recapture the cool, sexy style of classic spy fiction in today’s world.
Mark Parragh lives in Virginia with his wife and daughter.

Juniper and Kyle meet cute when she is dangling forty feet from a museum scaffolding, hanging on for dear life.
Juniper is a sassy, nerdy curator at the History Museum of Ann Arbor. Her life has been one big sacrifice for others. Work. Home. Repeat. Raised by her mother to hate men, she worries she’ll die a frigid scholar in a musty house with an army of cats and a lake of books.
Kyle Paxton is a handsome, intense and intimidating inventor of micro-cameras from San Francisco. To curb the dark memories of his ex-girlfriend (who still haunts him), he schedules dating and work with robotic precision. Not looking for love, he only hooks up with Amazonian models.
When he joins the museum board, Juniper falls for him. She wants him, but knows it’s going to be as hard as catching the ocean in a teacup. Juniper becomes Kyle’s obsession, but the tragic secrets of his past cloud his feelings. Juniper soon knocks Kyle’s world off its axis and their galaxies collide in this very unfairy tale. But can they overcome their differences and stop a hateful and vindictive person from tearing them apart?
Juniper Smoke is a smoking hot read with fun twists, dark secrets and edge-of-your-seat drama. Nothing is as it seems and no one behaves as you would expect.

When I was a junior in high school, I wanted to be a Naval aviator. After a visit to the Naval Recruiting Office, I was hyped. But soon thereafter, I received a clear call to the ministry and I never looked back. Never regretted it either.
Through the years I founded several businesses which financed outreaches all over the world, and I did some writing. During that time, I gathered stories of courageous veterans who struggled to acclimate upon returning to the US. I’ve always had a special place for veterans.
After I finally retired, and in the midst of the quietness, the Cody Musket Story dropped into my head. Inspired by real events and people, I wrote a fiction story based on solid truth. Thus the series, No Pit So Deep: The Cody Musket Story was born.
I’ve done some blogging and speaking, and yes, I am also a pilot. I live in Waco, Texas with the sexiest woman on the planet, to whom I have been married forty-seven years.
Below is a brief but more detailed biographical sketch.
James N Miller is a former recording artist, an entrepreneur, comic, writer and pilot. He has founded two aircraft refinishing companies and has been involved in outreach ministries around the world. His companies have helped finance the creation of safe drinking-water wells in Africa, and helped build an Orphanage in Argentina. He has flown rescue missions with Wings for Christ, and has been active as a speaker, blogger and counselor. He has spoken in prisons, churches, schools and other venues, and has been involved in the lives of former soldiers who have struggled with Post Traumatic Stress.
He is a 1970 graduate of Baylor University, and has served on the boards of Drug Prevention Resources, Inc., International Sports Federation, and the University of Mary Harden Baylor. He has two sons, and is married to Carla Ruth Miller. James and Carla live in Waco, Texas.

I have been dreaming about fictional worlds since I was a kid. I devoured anything related to fantasy and science fiction. I developed a setting over the last twenty years and struggled to find a medium I could express it in. Several years ago I discovered I enjoyed writing. It is a passion of mine now, and exploring my setting with it has been an awesome journey.
I work in the information technology field and have my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in it. It has helped me to shape some of the concepts I write about. I also enjoy keeping up on futurology and science in general.
I live in central Ohio and enjoy walking, reading, gaming, learning, listening to music, and trying to keep up on my never-ending list of TV shows and movies to watch

Born and raised in Texas, the state had to be the setting for my first series. From the food to the fun, like floating the rivers, it is the fire in my blood that inspires me. My family and friends take center stage in my books. My sisters and best friends are my heroines, and my husband created my favorite hero. Love and family are the point of my stories, and I seek to entertain, relieve stress, and inspire people. Books can take one on a journey that one can relive over and over. I am extremely grateful to those authors who did that very thing for me. I learned and I fell in love with their words and characters. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
