A diverse writer of columns, feature stores, short fiction, novels, screenplays and stage plays, Maryann Miller has won numerous awards including being a semi-finalist at the Sundance Institute for her screenplay, “A Question of Honor.” More recently she placed in the top 15 percent of entries in the Chesterfield Screenwriting Fellowship with the adaptation of “Open Season.” In association with Stephen Marro Productions in New York, Miller has done script editing and doctoring and has co-authored three screenplays; “Holding Point,” “Canned Goods,” and “It Doesn’t Take a Hero.” She was the script doctor for “Broadway’s Finest”, which released in 2012.

Having a long-time love affair with live theatre, Miller has been associated with high school drama departments as a production assistant and adviser for stage productions and student films. She is currently the Theatre Director at the Winnsboro Center for the Arts, where she coordinates the annual Summer Drama Camp for kids, and directs the troupe of players, young and young at heart, in several productions each year. She also likes to be on stage and had her dream role as Martha in “Arsenic and Old Lace.”

When not writing or playing on stage, Miller likes to take care of her critters on Grandma’s Ranch, where she lives on five acres in the beautiful Piney Woods of East Texas with one horse, one goat, one sheep, one dog and four cats. The cats rule.
