Telemachus by Peter Gray
About Telemachus by Peter Gray
This is a love story told through the medium of a colony of migrating birds. But it’s more than that. It looks at the question of ‘what is love?’, what love means to different people and in different circumstances. It questions the very essence of our society, of control, the influences of law and religion. But it’s written in a very light and readable way that has caused one reviewer to describe it as a ‘beautiful yet complex anthropomorphic tale’.
It will be free on Amazon from August 1st to August 5th.

I grew up in Hertfordshire where I discovered my love of books. I started writing fairy stories at an early age, inspired by the stories of Hans Christian Andersen and the Brothers Grimm. I continued writing poems and short stories over the years and then in 2010 I got the idea for a novel. By the time I was halfway through writing it, I realised there was too much story for just one book, and so the Heart Search trilogy was born. My publisher, Myrddin Publishing Group, have been incredibly supportive and I count myself lucky to be with them.
I’m now working on my 5th book which is the first in a seven book fantasy series.
I run a writing group called Writebulb. They have written four anthologies, the proceeds of which support a local hospice. Their 5th book will be launched September 2016.
I’m also principal editor at Eagle Eye Editors.
My daughter and I love making jewellery and have a website where we sell it. We also attend craft fairs.

I am Tamra Flournoy, and I have been writing since I was twelve years old. I am currently 27 years old (for the second time around.)
“Walking With the Wind” is the first in a series of stories that culminate in the final battle in the last days. The first four stories comprise the “What Lies Between” series and introduce the five young players who will figure in prominently to the larger picture.
The second set of stories will continue the saga in the “What Lies Beneath” series, with the final set of stories making up the “What Lies Above” series. So there are many more stories coming.
I currently live in central Texas with my husband. I am lucky to have most of my children and grandchildren living close by. I finally graduated from BYU just a few years ago. I also enjoy singing in the Hill Country Singers and heading up our community’s, “We’ve Got Talent” competition for our 4th of July Council.
I am happy to find that writing these crazy stories is a fantastic outlet for my overactive imagination. I hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.

An award-winning author, playwright, director, and producer, Alretha Thomas’s background is as diverse as her personality. She started at the age of ten when her 5th grade teacher picked and read her short story assignment in front of the class—that simple, loving act empowered a new writer. Continuing in high school, her numerous original oratorical conquests on the Speech Team led her to a journalism concentration at USC.
Upon graduating, Alretha soon realized that her interest in journalism was not heartfelt. While at the taping of a live sitcom, the producer noticed her and encouraged her hand at modeling. Modeling didn’t mean much to her, but it did lead her to acting and a NAACP Theatre Award Nomination (1993) for BEST ACTRESS. Alretha left acting and began to write full time. Her church gave her an outlet to fulfill her writing desires through their Liturgical Fine Arts Department wherein Alretha penned twelve theatre pieces, six of which she directed—the community response was overwhelming.
This led to full-length plays outside of the church. In 2002, The Stella Adler Theater presented A Shrine to Junior. The play was nominated for a NAACP Theatre Award and in 2004, Alretha’s play, Civil Rites, was the recipient of a NAACP Theatre Award. Her play Grandpa’s Truth ran at the Inglewood Playhouse in Inglewood, California in 2006, and was extended more than once by popular demand. Not only did radio station KJLH support by recommending this production to its listeners, but notables like the Mayor of Inglewood, Roosevelt Dorn, and music legends like Freda Payne and Stevie Wonder had critical acclaim for Grandpa’s Truth. This wonderful piece was featured on Channel 5 (KTLA News) by Entertainment Reporter, Sam Rubin. Additionally, in 2007, Alretha’s play that she wrote and directed, Sacrificing Simone, had a successful run at Stage 52 in Los Angeles and was called “an inspirational crowd pleaser” by the Los Angeles Times and in 2009, Alretha’s groundbreaking One, Woman Two Lives, starring Kellita Smith (The Bernie Mac Show), directed by four-time NAACP Image Award Best Director recipient Denise Dowse, garnered rave reviews from critics and audiences.
In between plays, Alretha’s first novel Daughter Denied was launched in 2008 and has received glowing reviews from readers and book clubs across the country. Representing her books, Alretha has been the guest on many radio shows and television shows including San Francisco Public Affairs show Bay Sunday with Barbara Rodgers on KTLA Channel 5. In 2011, Alretha launched her second novel, Dancing Her Dreams Away, and it was also well received. Her third novel, Married in the Nick of Nine, spawned a four-book series that was acquired by Soul Mate Publishing in January 2014. Alretha’s award winning third indie novel, Four Ladies Only, was released February 2014. Alretha’s first mystery novel, Missing Melissa, was released in 2015. In 2016, Justice for Jessica, the first book in her new Detective Rachel Storme series, was released.

Dublin Galyean, former LAUSD English teacher, has published his first novel, Bougainvillea Blues. Galyean, born in east Texas, grew up in San Diego, CA and uses both settings for this coming of age story. After graduating from UCSD in biology, he took a short stab at an acting career that led to performing as a teacher of ESL (English as a Second Language) and then to teaching literature analysis at adult schools, mostly to eager immigrant students. After reading Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down the Bones, years of journal writing translated into what would become Bougainvillea Blues. In 2007, he earned an M.A. in English from CSULA for a much shorter version. He now lives in the sprawl of Los Angeles with his wife and an enormous pepper tree.
With years of having students analyze literature in discussions and essays, he now looks forward to his work being studied one day, but he won’t be correcting the essays. One former student even asked if he’d be providing study questions for Bougainvillea Blues like he did for the novels read in class.
“It’s hard even to conceive of writing a book when you’ve studied Dickens, Twain, Chopin, Steinbeck, and Ichiguro, but once I’d come admire so many writers, I just wanted to see what happened when I gave it a try,” says Galyean.
The Golden Pack Alphas
Were hybrid, Georgia Walker, has spent months avoiding Marcus, the wolf shifter otherwise known as the pain-in-her-ass. The brooding and stalkerish enforcer makes her lips curl in a snarl, but her skin tighten with need—a combination of reactions that has Georgia tense and less than her usual, affable self. She’s spent her entire life struggling to fit in with her pack. She doesn’t need Marcus around tempting her to flex her control and limits.
Marcus Legrand loves a good chase, and Georgia stirs more than his love of a good hunt. Despite how well Georgia tries to hide behind her snarky sarcasm, he sees more than he knows she’s comfortable with. Her scowls can’t hide the flare of heat that sparks between them each time they meet. He’s tired of Georgia running from him at every turn, but the too-smart-for-her-own-good she-wolf excels at pushing his buttons.
When Georgia’s father, current alpha to the Golden Pack announces his successor, it tilts Georgia’s world on its axis. With unknown forces endangering the pack, Marcus and Georgia are forced to put aside their differences and work together, even as fate and attraction pulls them closer together.

THINK AGAIN!
‘EXCERPT from CHAPTER 1’
I boarded the bus having a bit of difficulty due to the metal support brace that I had fixed to my right knee. I looked at my “amigos,” a word we had learned on this trip to Mexico, we each used it loosely – each person, place or thing that we encountered was our Amigo.
“Sorry for being the last person.”
It was 8:12 a.m., we were supposed to be gone and on the asphalt broken highway back to life as we knew it no later than 8:00 a.m. There was a silence of which I have never heard before nor have ever heard since. I trapped a bee with my thumb that had been swarming around my beer either attracted to the fruit inside my bottle or the rotten salsa that was smeared on the outside.
“Still nothing from Tina?” The words came slurred from my dry swollen, partly scabbed lips, which had enjoyed too much sun and salty margaritas.
My question was answered by the anguished looks of my fellow spring breakers. Tina had not surfaced. The last time any of us, including her two roommates, had seen her was 36 hours earlier.
This is “My Bad Tequila.”
This spring break getaway was supposed to be a fun experience and a pleasant memory. It ended up being more than a memory; it was an unpleasant walk through life . . . .

Author Bio:
Born and raised in Southwestern Idaho, Rico is the oldest of five boys, growing up on a meager existence but in a area that was ripe for several adventures for him, his four younger brothers and numerous cousins.
Rico grew up around farmland that produced potatoes, hay, hops, grain and corn. There were several fruit orchards and vineyards in the Snake River Valley as well, due to the extraordinary fertile soil. A couple of years out of high school he moved to Boise and enrolled at Boise State University as a student and walk on football player. However, he could not escape the allure of traveling the world and began writing and storing his experiences in hopes of someday becoming a novelist. He began by reading every chance he had. From contemporary novels to classical literature, Rico’s love of storytelling was uncontrollable. He appeared occasionally at Boise’s former Comedy Club as a “Stand Up Comedian” retelling his stories of growing up in a comedic fashion.
Rico earned an Associate Degree in Marketing and Sales from BSU. After a few years of low-level management positions, Rico moved to Hawaii for a short time surfing the waters of Kauai and enjoying the outdoors. He then moved to Southern California for less than a year before heading back to Idaho. In 1991 Rico moved to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area and continued his education receiving a Bachelors of Business Administration in International Business at Grand Canyon University and received “Outstanding International Business Graduate of 1995.” That same year he was also selected as “Mr. Future Business Executive” at the State Leadership Conference which included all universities in the State of Arizona.
Rico finished his Masters, an MBA in International Management at Thunderbird School of Global Management with a focus on the Latin American Region and the Spanish language. He did this while working full time as a feature writer and freelance journalist at the T-Bird school paper “DAS TOR.” A few of his articles at “DAS TOR” were written in Spanish by Rico especially for the foreign students of Latin America.
Former Vice President Dan Quayle served as an “Invited Interim Professor by the Thunderbird School President for 2 semesters” and Rico was fortunate enough to be one of 16 students selected to attend his class.
Rico is an avid fisherman and has traveled far and wide to cast his line into many waters; including streams, lakes, ponds, rivers, seas and oceans.
He has worked for a few international companies as both a sales manager and a marketing manager. In his spare time he has worked as a Land Developer and is a Licensed Realtor in Arizona. Should you decide to make your home in Arizona or would like to purchase property to build your dream home in the future, Rico would be more than happy to show you around his Great State of Arizona.
Rico now is happily married to a graphic artist from Minnesota with a prominent company. They make their home in the “Land of the Sun” Scottsdale, Arizona.
He and his wife Connie enjoy snorkeling, hiking, hanging by their swimming pool and traveling to the beaches of Mexico while sipping on a cold cerveza or margarita blended with Rico’s favorite TEQUILA.
