“A little about me if you don’t already know!

From a young age was I exposed to Domestic Violence. When I entered my teens I fell pregnant and again became a victim of abuse, beaten daily and almost killed several times by an abusive partner.
My inner strength came through and I finally escaped the cycle, raising my young child as a sole parent. Years later I became the CEO of my own Company.
I was encouraged by my daughter a few years ago to tell my story. I have never and probably will never say out loud what happened to me but by putting in down on paper (pardon the pun) it has helped me exercise some demons that I had buried deep down inside.

Author Bio:
Michael Cruit was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. From March 1966 to 1969 he was in the U.S. army, including thirteen months in Vietnam. In 1975, he enrolled in the University of Minnesota, where he earned a degree in sociology. In 1980, Michael went to Costa Rica to write his dissertation, but never returned to the U.S.
There are no roads, no power lines, no phone lines anywhere near Michael’s house, and sociology was not too useful for survival in the rain forest. He panned for gold and made coconut oil, then paddled upriver to the nearest town, where he exchanged the gold and coconut oil for supplies. Eventually he learned carpentry and made a decent living working on local construction projects.
