In 1914 Australia went to war.
Six young men from the same family in Cootamundra, southern New South Wales, volunteered to fight for their King and country. Only 3 returned.
This is their story based on official archives, war records and newspaper reports with some assumptions needed to complete the saga.
This book is dedicated to the memory of them all, including those who stayed home and worked on the farms and in the factories to support the war effort.
The author acknowledges and is grateful for the research materials available from;
The Australian Commonwealth Archives

I spent most of his life in sales, public transport and Traffic Management.
I managed traffic movements through and around major road work sites throughout Queensland. My last project was as Traffic Project Manager on the construction of the Gold Coast Light Rail throughout the City of Gold Coast.
After retiring to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in 2014, I took in interest in researching my family. I discovered links back to the 1400’s and even a distant link to the Royal Family of United Kingdom.
During my research I discovered I had 6 relatives who fought in the Great War. I was familiar, with my relatives in the 2nd World War, but knew nothing about the men in his family who had fought in the Great War.
This research led me to write his first book “A Family That Went to War”
After I published the book I realised that this was not enough, so I settled down and commenced writing “An Australian Story – The saga of an Australian Family over two centuries”
In this I have included the stories of Australia’s early settlement and of the events that made Australia and the makings of a family.
I was amazed that I could write three books in less than 12 months, particularly as only recently I discovered that he had mild dyslexia all his life.
My Third book “The Ministry Communications Unit” is pure fiction based on a fictitious movie company set up by the Government during World War 2.
I have completed my latest book Lady at Bromfield and I hope to have it released by September 2016.

Author Bio:
Melissa Keir has always wanted to be an author when she wasn’t hoping for a career as a race car driver. Her love of books was instilled by her mother and grandparents who were avid readers. She’d often sneak books away from them so that she could fantasize about those strong alpha males and plucky heroines. In middle school and high school, Melissa used to write sappy love poems and shared them with her friends and still has those poems today! In college her writing changed to sarcastic musings on life as well as poems with a modern twist on fairy tales and won awards for her writing. You can find many of these musings along with her latest releases on her website and blog.
Melissa doesn’t believe in down time. She’s always keeping busy. Melissa is a wife and mother, an elementary school teacher, a book reviewer, owner of a publishing company as well as an author. Her home blends two families and is a lot like the Brady Bunch, without Alice- a large grocery bill, tons of dirty dishes and a mound of laundry. She loves to write stories that feature happy endings and is often seen plotting her next story.

Venus Rising
Akshaya Bertrand is a Professor of Art History at an elite college in New England. The patina of the ivy league campus is the perfect canvas for the exotic beauty from India. It is also an environment that Akshaya can safely navigate. A small world that she has minimized and made manageable.
Dr. Jared Harrison, a journalist who has been based in the Middle East, has accepted a position as a guest lecturer at the college where Akshaya teaches. Arriving just in time to attend a faculty mixer, he catches a glimpse of Akshaya Bertrand. Immediately, he learns from those who have tried and failed, that the beautiful professor, compared to Lakshmi, Venus and Aphrodite, is an enigma, a seductive sculpture behind a wall of glass.
While searching for a way to slip past her armor and into her life, Jared confronts the images and tragedies imprinted on his psyche by those left behind in the war torn world of the Middle East. Akshaya and Jared find themselves drawn to each other, hoping to find compassion, someone they can expose their inner demons to.
Funding from the college provides an opportunity to combine Akshaya’s love of art with Jared’s resources as a war correspondent. Together, they travel to Afghanistan and India, where both finally face the past that has shaped them and the present that defines them.
Amongst beauty and poverty as well as war and friendship they find the answers to their individual truths.

Dead Lemons by Finn Bell
About Dead Lemons by Finn Bell:
Now Finn Bell can’t walk.
Because he couldn’t stop drinking.
Because he couldn’t sleep.
It’s strange because Life – aside from the young wheelchair, old alcoholism and older insomnia – was actually getting pretty good or so he thought. Finn also thinks he may be going crazy – but doesn’t know if he can trust his own thinking on the matter – and there’s no one left to ask since his wife left. So he left too. Sure that he could run away from himself if only he got far enough.
He went all the way to the bottom of the world. To the farthest town, the last town down. Far south on the south island of New Zealand, closer to Antarctica than almost anybody. That’s where things really start going wrong.
Because the people down here have been doing very bad things for a very long time. And now Finn knows, even though no one believes him. And he finally learns that the one thing stronger than being possibly suicidal is becoming definitely homicidal.
Dead Lemons is Book 1 in The Far South Series:
Books about people doing very bad things in the far south of New Zealand. Every thing that happens in them is true and every place is real. Although not always all at the same time. Try some. You might like it.

I was born and raised in Texas. It is the fire in my blood that inspires me, and I had to make it the setting of my first series. My family and friends take center stage in my books. My sisters and best friends are my heroines, and my husband created my favorite hero. Love and family are the point of my stories, and I seek to entertain, relieve stress, and inspire people. Books can take one on a journey that one can relive over and over. I am extremely grateful to those authors who did that very thing for me. I learned and fell in love with their words and characters. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

A chemical engineer by degree, air quality engineer by vocation, certified dreamer by predilection, and writer by sheer persistence, P.E. Padilla learned long ago that crunching numbers and designing solutions was not enough to satisfy his creative urges. Weaned on classic science fiction and fantasy stories from authors as diverse as Heinlein, Tolkien, and Jordan, and affected by his love of role playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons (analog) and Final Fantasy (digital), he sometimes has trouble distinguishing reality from fantasy. While not ideal for a person who needs to function in modern society, it’s the perfect state of mind for a writer. He lives in Southern California.
