During the day he is a school teacher. By night and whenever possible he dons the moniker of Honea Byrne. As Honea Byrne he interprets the world around him. He draws from real life experience. These experiences include being a Mortuary Affairs Specialist in the United States Army, a recovering alcoholic, and a teacher.

In his writing he addresses social consciousness and combines it with self-help and spices it up with a supernatural feel. His writings are much like reading a graphic novel. This is because of his love for reading comics.

His publishing credits include Poets Haven and Bootleg Avenue. He also has several books on Amazon Kindle. He has been featured on AM radio and Awesome FM. With over a hundred videos on the internet (myspace and youtube combined), he is well-versed in the art of self-promotion. When the opportunity arises, he plays live music at Check Point Charlie’s in New Orleans and Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale.

Being very fond of traveling, he has created and produced documentaries of Mexico, Arizona Native American Reservations, and Myrtle Plantation hauntings. These videos can be found on his youtube account.

He is a fitness enthusiast. He has completed both P90X and Insanity work out programs.

His musical influences include Public Enemy, Henry Rollins, Ice-T, Social Distortion, Everlast, Getto boys, Eminem, Danzig, Misfits, Pantera, Down.

His reading influences include Chuck Bukowski,William S. Buroughs, Larry Brown, and many comic books. His favorite comics include Batman, Venom, Hell Raiser, Ghost Rider. He is especially fond of vintage comics from the 1970’s.

Deborah has a BA in Journalism and a MA in Corporate Management. She is an avid fan of Diana Gabaldon and drew inspiration from the Outlander series among other period-romance stories.

She currently lives in Northern Illinois with her dogs and works full-time in the investment industry. When she’s not busy reading, writing and editing, she volunteers with various animal rescues, sings in her church choir and is currently training for her first Tough Mudder.
