Elliott Alhadeff was born in Los Angeles in 1938. In 1960, he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UCLA, and a Juris Doctorate degree in 1965. Thereafter, he was appointed as a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney, where he received the L.A. County DDA’s Association 1990 Prosecutor of the Year Award. Mr. Alhadeff continued to serve with that office until his retirement in 1993. His life as a criminal trial lawyer compelled his witnessing of the relentless, tragic waste of precious human life in the inner city. His books in The McKinsey Saga series are the result of his perceptions of the causes and an implied answer for a solution.

Mr. Alhadeff edited and published the Law Enforcement Legal Reporter from 1975 to 1998, a monthly newsletter reviewing recent case law from the California and federal appellate courts. He also published The Handbook for Police Officers and The Handbook for Investigators, outlining legal issues and procedures pertaining to criminal arrests and investigations.

Mr. Alhadeff has taught at various institutions, including the University of Southern California and California State University at Long Beach. He has given numerous seminars and has been invited as a guest lecturer on legal updates for police officers as well as special subjects in criminal law and prosecutorial trials and strategies.

In 1999, he served as the American Bar Association’s Criminal Liaison Officer for the Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative in Uzbekistan. I was born in Kirby Muxloe near Leicester in the UK. I attended school in Yorkshire and university in Liverpool.

I now live in Vancouver, Canada but I still retain my British sense of humour distilled from The Goons, Monty Python, The Fast Show, Brass, Fawlty Towers, and Midsomer Murders.

He currently resides in Valparaiso, Indiana and often mentions his hometown in his books. His hobbies include meeting celebrities at conventions, reading, writing, and acting. He was the drummer for the 80s heavy metal band Latem. He was an extra in the movie Moon 44, and he has been in several stage plays. In the eighties he designed haunted houses in Stuttgart, West Germany three years in a row and won two awards for best design. He also has done several radio and television commercials.
