Soul Scavengers – Wilde and the Witch

SS1-smallAbout Soul Scavengers – Wilde and the Witch:

Psychic medium Olivia Emerson is young, gutsy, and out to prove she’s got what it takes to hang with the big boys. Although haunted by a past that threatens to consume her, Olivia accepts a job on a snow covered island that could make or break her career. She just needs to keep her past where it belongs- behind her. She knows this job could be her foot in the door, and hopefully the vehicle she needs to break into the business and take the next step up. The only problem; she’ll be working with him.

Paranormal investigator Sullivan Wilde has a healthy dislike for anyone claiming to hear or communicate with spirits. To him, they’re all frauds. He learned firsthand that just because you want to believe, doesn’t make it real.

When Sullivan’s forced to work with Olivia, he’s not happy about it. She exasperates him, pushes his buttons, and doesn’t have a shut off valve for that mouth of hers. He doesn’t believe in her ‘gift’, and makes no apologies for it. Yet, as much as he tries to deny it, there’s something about Olivia that gets under his skin. The moment they’re left alone on the dock of the island, devoid of living inhabitants, everything changes. Some unhappy spirits, coupled with Olivia and Sullivan’s burgeoning feelings for one another leave them with no choice but to rely on one another if they want to make it through the night. Can Sullivan and Olivia put their differences aside in order to finish the job and walk out alive?

Nighfall_cover_FINAL_tiny_250x400About Nightfall by Moshe Ben-Or

Now Yosi is marooned on a foreign world, surrounded by people whom he doesn’t understand, and hunted by enemies who literally want to eat him alive. But these are the least of his problems. Because the biggest war in living memory has set all of Known Space aflame in an instant. And if Yosi Weismann is to ever get back home, he first needs to build an army…

Author Bio:
The author has spent some 13 years of his life involved with the thing euphemistically termed “national security”. In that time, the author has fought in two wars, commanded troops in and out of combat, helped to design high-tech weapons, worked in intelligence, and was party to many things that may be termed “adventure”. The author knows whereof he writes and has the scars to show for it. Any similarity to real persons, whether living or dead, and to real events, whether past or current, is entirely coincidental.

Nathaniel is a Fixer. He specializes in the dangerous and the bizarre, in the impossible. Cursed with a destructive entity named the Dark, a malevolent force that lives within him, Nathaniel takes on jobs others won’t.

Drawn into an elaborate plan to retrieve the legendary sword Black Swan, the job goes south when it’s stolen out from underneath him. Before he can truly discover Jane’s intentions, a war erupts between the underworld players, and just like that, she’s gone again. Nathaniel realizes the only way to stay alive is to find Black Swan and finish his mission. And so he begins his infiltration into the underworld.

But Black Swan isn’t just a sword – it is a key that can open doors to different realms and times, and offers virtual immortality. And everyone will kill to get it.

“Out of the Shoebox” by Yaron Reshef

OutoftheShoeboxAbout “Out of the Shoebox” by Yaron Reshef:

A fascinating journal that reads like a detective story, comes across as an imaginative quest into the past, yet is the true personal story of the writer, Yaron Reshef.

An unexpected phone call hurls Reshef into an intensive two-year journey, during which he has to solve a mystery that took shape in the 1930s and gradually unfolded in the present. A mysterious lot, a forgotten bank account, a people long gone – along with their memory which were obliterated during the Holocaust. All of these rise to the surface, bearing with them memories and emotions previously hidden away in the shoebox.

“I had no intention of writing a book. I had no need to write a story in general nor a story about my family and the Holocaust in particular. But life being what it is, sometimes things happen in mysterious, even surprising ways. Stuff that used to take center stage
moves to the background, and background stuff moves downstage and center. That’s what happened in my case.” (Yaron Reshef)
