“Before I wrote fiction, I was an academic writer who published research, theoretical works, text books and just about anything a nurse or college professor needed to publish to survive. The differences in academic writing and writing fiction are dramatic. Writing what I know propels me to pull from my clinical experiences, some good, some not and use popular fiction as a means to teach and advocate for others. My books have three purposes, to engage the reader, to entertain them and to educate about healthcare and perhaps, the darker side of hospital life.
Dr. Lucci is a nurse who holds graduate and doctoral degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia. I have always been a reader and a writer and I love it. I am a member of the Virginia Writers Club, The Shenandoah Valley Writers and Sisters in Crime.
When I’m not writing I am probably teaching, paining on silk as I am a multi-media artist or playing with my many dogs. Please feel free to contact me at judithlucciwrites@gmail.com. I am excited about meeting you!
When it All Went to Hell
About When it All Went to Hell:
Full of disorientation and disillusion, revelation and redemption, loneliness and hope, When It All Went To Hell is a collection that will take you from the smallest of small town America to the far reaches of Africa and back again. These tales are inhabited by unpredictably real and absurdly honest characters that explore the complexities and simplicities of love and relationships, question what you learn when you step outside of your own culture and into another, and travel far, far down the extremes of (ir)rational thinking. And of course we will need the allegorical blast on religion that all starts with a scruffy and most untrustworthy raccoon named Fred.
Pappas has created a compelling and hilarious world of different voices, settings and characters, grown from his own wild style imagination, rooted deep in his days as a line cook in the bowels of the kitchen, as a hard travelin’ globe trottin’ tramp, and sketch comedian king bullshitter of bullshitters with a keen eye for the rich details. With this collection we see a young writer actively seeking, participating full-on in his own life, reporting back to us what he finds, and, slowly but surely — discovering his own permanent truth in letters.

NYPD criminal profiler Catherine Farrows knew her life would change forever when she committed herself to covert billionaire Thomas Ambrose—and his violent vigilante alter ego, the Black Mask Killer. Together they work to protect the children of New York City and abroad from the predations of the Ganymede Society, a secret cabal of one-percenters who sexually exploit and murder children. Morally-conflicted Catherine has never had to wrestle with her conscience and convictions so much in her life. Neither has she ever been happier…or more in danger.
Catherine and Thomas have moved in together, as much out of love and mutual commitment as to continue their work against Ganymede. Now joined by FBI agent and superhero fan Jason Leong, they seek to bring individual members of Ganymede to justice, even as the NYPD struggles against red tape and corruption in the Mayor’s Office to do the same.
Top cop Brian Andrews knows he’s had enough when mysterious hacker Fatale contacts him with a list and photographs of Ganymede members. He aims to have the PD make their lives a living Hell by policing their smallest violation of the law, impeding their plans and making their lives much more public and legally complicated than the wealthy pederasts can stand. But Ganymede is watching him—and when he makes his move, they kidnap him and prepare him for a horrific and humiliating fate.
The three vigilantes must join forces with the mysterious Fatale in order to save the Lieutenant’s life and reputation. But Fatale, formerly a Ganymede victim, has a very specific vendetta of her own, and in order to gain her cooperation, they must agree to her terms. Doing so puts Catherine and Tom in mortal danger…for Ganymede has laid a trap for them out in the darkness of the New York harbor.

The Starving Psyche
“Perception is reality.” We’ve heard this phrase over and over again, but more specifically YOUR perception is YOUR reality. Have you ever paid close attention to the conversations that people have around you? Rather you’re at work, at school or at the store I can almost guarantee that 80% of the conversations you hear are either of gossip, celebrity rumors, tragic news stories or basic complaining. Do you think that the people that frequently engage in these conversations are happy with themselves? If you answered “No” you would be correct. But the people that frequently engage in meaningful conversations and constructive activities ARE happy with themselves… So what separates these two types of people? It’s their PERCEPTION. Where does our perception of life come from? It’s a combination of our upbringing and/or environment and what we choose to feed our minds. The first step to shifting our perception is analyzing our bad habits and thoughts. This book breaks down the 17 mental shackles that keep people from reaching their full potential.
