It’s not until James invites them both to join him in his private dining room that they discover each other’s true identities. Lansing convinces Chase to become his daughter’s personal bodyguard until the situation with the threats is taken care of. Being thrown together twenty-four seven is the last thing Chase wants, considering the unexpected feelings he has for Shay. Distraction can make a man careless. But he accepts, determined to protect her and her son with his life.
For the first time since her divorce, a man stirs Shay’s passion. More importantly, he makes her son smile. The last thing she expects is to fall for her ‘bodyguard’, a man determined to keep his heart at bay, but she does just that. Can she convince Chase he really is her happily-ever-after? Cate Dean has been writing since she could hold a pen in her hand and put more than two words together on paper.
She grew up losing herself in the wilds of fantasy worlds, and has had some of her own adventures while tromping through the UK, and a few other parts of the world.
A lover of all things supernatural, she infuses that love into her stories, giving them a unique edge.
When she’s not writing, she loves cooking, scaring herself silly in the local cemeteries, and reading pretty much anything she can get her hands on.
There – I got the official biography out of the way. I love to write, and yes, I have been doing it most of my life. I’ve made up stories in my head for as long as I can remember, and I am thrilled to be able to write them down and share them with you.
I love writing different types of stories, and jump from fantasy, to paranormal, and over to romance. So many genres, so little time…

Author Bio:
As a kid, I was terrified and fascinated by vampires. As I got older, I was attracted to them for three reasons: their nature, desire and loneliness. Their nature is always looking for love and bonding to their love interest for life. I wanted this in my own life. Their desire for blood and difficulty abstaining from it related to my temptations and challenges in life; namely, to remain a loving person in a not so loving world. Vampires are often outsiders, on the fringe of society. I often felt like I did not fit in as well. I think these are reasons why people can relate to them.
If I ever wrote a vampire story, it had to be different than what is on television and film. Honestly, nothing is really “new” but you can have an original angle on it. My angle is not so far out there that you can’t understand it; however, it does blend the lines of good and evil. This story still has the elements of your traditional paranormal romance but with a slight twist. I hope you enjoy the book and thank you in advance for checking it out.

But sometimes one must choose between his companions and his destiny. Seanchai abhors his ability to kill and, in the friendships he forges, discovers something potentially more powerful than his magic.

Levant Fever: True stories from Syria’s underground
About Levant Fever: True stories from Syria’s underground:
Levant Fever is a memoir from the political underground darkness of Assad’s Syria. Seen through the eyes of a boy growing into a man, in the middle of feverish historic events. Not widely understood, or told before in the West but at the roots of the current conflicts. The narrative grips the reader with its honesty, brutality and beauty. The author describes his own journey, reflections and life stories told to him whilst he was held without trial for 14 years, as a political prisoner in several prisons. These included Palmyra, noted by Amnesty International as one of the most oppressive prisons in the world.
The work is an enthralling and informative mosaic reflecting the colours, sects, religions, politics, legends and geography of the Levant. The journey spans the areas deserts, coastline, mountains and forests. It speaks of family, friendship, love, hope, fear, torture, hiding and escaping. A truly human tale of a life well lived, a life of conscience, courage and endurance and ultimately one of triumph of the human spirit.

Kristy K. James’ first goal in life was to work in law enforcement, until the night she called the police to check out a scary noise in her yard. Realizing that she might someday have to investigate scary noises in yards just as dark as hers if she continued on that path, she turned to her other favorite love…writing. Since then her days have been filled with being a mom and reluctant zookeeper (5 pets), creating stories, and looking for trouble in her kitchen.
Kristy is the author of the Coach’s Boys series (The Daddy Pact, A Hero For Holly, A Harry Situation, Her Best Friend Jon, Darby’s Dilemma, Code Red Christmas, and The Detective’s Second Chance ),The Casteloria Series (Laying Low in Paradise, A Cool Summer in Paradise, and A Cold Day in Paradise – coming December 2015), The Men From the Double M Series, Enza, Reluctant Guardian, Laying Low in Paradise, Gluten-Free Sucks, A Fine Mess, and more.
Personal note, I was born and raised in Michigan and will probably live here for my entire life. Taking the ‘write what you know’ to heart, most of my stories are set in this great state. We have just about anything you can find anywhere else – huge, ocean-like lakes with beautiful beaches, desert-like sand dunes, mountains, one of the longest bridges in the world, and even tropical weather in the summer. Tropical? Yup. When you combine our high humidity with eighty and ninety degree heat – it’s tropical!
So why not set the stories here? Not that some of my characters don’t travel (Casteloria Series), and I don’t always stay with straight romance. I’ve done an historical romance – Reluctant Guardian, a literary/historical book based on the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, and I just love time-travel romance and am working on the third in my Wishes in time series.
Tired of cookie cutter romances that follow steps A, B, and C in order to get to the HEA, my goal is to always be a little different. And based on feedback from readers, I think I often succeed.
The info on the Awesome Gang application says to include hobbies. Well… Does cooking count? I’ve always loved to cook and bake but having to choose between gluten-containing foods and being able to breathe a few years ago, I’ve made it my mission to replace favorites with gluten-free options that are just as good as the ‘real’ versions. I’m still working on dressing for turkey, pie crust, and doughnuts, but I’ll master those too.
I also enjoy working with plastic canvas and yarn and have made a few snow villages that are absolutely beautiful – not so much because I did them but because I followed the directions and they turned out like they were supposed to.
Traveling around this great state I live in is another thing I love to do, as well as looking around antique furniture and book stores, as well as Hallmark, where I can spend forever reading card after card after card.
I love interacting with people on my Facebook account. Twitter? God’s truth? I try but it’s hard for me to fit a thought into 140 words and characters.
