The greater part of my life has been spent in the Southwest, a good bit of it in the back-country. I grew up with the Navajo, went to school with them, and later worked alongside them, forging enduring friendships along the way. Those friendships became the inspiration for this series. My writing focuses on the people of the Four Corners region, past and present. I tend not to romanticize my characters, preferring instead to paint them as I find them. They have much the same qualities, good and bad, as the rest of us. Though this book is a work of fiction, a concerted effort was made to maintain the accuracy of the culture and people, as I have come to know them. I hope you like them as well as I do.

This story hearkens back to a slightly more traditional time on the reservation, and while the places and culture are real, the characters and their names are fictitious and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

Author Bio:
Born and raised in Chicago. I am divorced with two adult children and two young grand children. I also care for a teen step child and my elderly parents. I live in Southern California.

In the day I work in a spa, by evening, I turn to my favorite pastime, writing. I love romantic action-adventures stories mostly set in historic times. Growing up, my greatest influence and inspiration was Errol FLynn, as I watched him in sea adventures like, “The Sea Hawks” or play medieval hero, “Robin Hood.” More current influences are, “Braveheart, Tristan and Isolde, King Arthur, Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and even Assassin’s Creed Unity and Elder Scrolls,” video game series.

When it comes to writing, music is my main muse so I am constantly listening to emotionally charged sound tracks from movies or video games. I find many on YouTube as well. Music moves me, it keeps my fingers clicking the keyboard as my mind fills up with plots and scenes. Writing to me is not only entertaining but therapeutic, even spiritual. Perhaps other artist out there understand this.

I did not have formal training in writing so I have, painfully, been learning as I go. My first book, The Sea Maiden, has been through many revisions, it was a humbling experience because of the grammar reviews, but I did learn much about writing and self publishing as well. The more I read from other authors the more encouraged and courageous I become…for writing is not for the faint of heart. As other authors put it, you must not give up your dream, keep going and keep typing…eventually I’ll get it WRITE, RIGHT? Haha…hope you enjoy!

I’m Sarah England and I live in … England! The only way my name could be more patriotic is if I was called Elizabeth – yes that’s my middle name, it really is!
Originally I trained as a nurse, before working in medical sales & marketing, specialising in psychiatry. I’ve been a fiction writer for about 12 years though, now, with hundreds of short stories and a few serials in magazines, newspapers and anthologies. There are also a couple of books with the small press too.
However, a couple of years ago I met a lady with what used to be called multiple personality disorder, and was shocked to the core by her story. With a professional background in psychiatry and an unhealthy interest in the occult, I then began to pen the idea for Father of Lies. The research, I have to tell you, was so scary I had the books burned afterwards because I couldn’t keep them in the house… the rest, as they say, is history!
Father of Lies is set in the bleak Derbyshire moors in northern England, where I’m from.. I even lived in a haunted mill by rushing water. So I guess you could say this book is pretty personal. My heart and soul are in it.. and a sequel is planned.

Author Bio:
I was born in 1985, in a time when being a full-time writer just wasn’t considered a viable career option. Consequently, I spent the majority of my life feeling like I don’t fit in, trying to figure out why I’m not really interested in doing anything, while completely ignoring the fact that I was interested in writing.

From an early age, I had a passion for books and stories of all kinds, especially science-fiction, which offered plenty of new worlds to explore in addition to this one. Basically, I try to cram as many lives as I can into the one I was granted.

After completing my studies in Letters and getting a Master’s Degree in American Studies – where I wrote my thesis on the music of Tom Waits – I settled for a comfortable job in IT support, which I rather enjoyed. However, something didn’t feel quite right.

A journey to the Dominican Republic to be a groomsman at my buddy’s wedding, and a near-fatal encounter with a knife-wielding hooker (I know, but it’s not what it sounds like) really helped put things into perspective. Upon returning, I decided that life is too grand a project not to be undertaken with maximum passion and dedication. In other words, I realized that I owed it to myself and the people I love to be the best that I could possibly be, and that was not going to happen in a corporate environment. With the support of a wonderful wife and a loving family, I quit my job to become a full-time writer.

I spent the first few months crafting a novel which I promptly shelved, and then I wrote Mindguard, the science fiction story I had been dreaming to tell all my life. Because of the wonders of the internet and this amazing world we live in, I went on to publish Mindguard on Amazon in September of 2014.

In December 2014, Mindguard was chosen BOOK OF THE YEAR 2014 by the science fiction website scifi365.net.

When I’m not working on sci-fi novels and short stories, I’m busy writing articles for my jazz-themed website The Music and Myth.

I also enjoy taking photographs, working out, traveling and spending my evenings drinking wine and listening to jazz records in the company of my lovely wife, Ioana and our Netherland dwarf bunny, Picky.
