Blue Karma
Riley Marshall, law enforcement agent, lives in a time of technological advancements and improving the world. His brother, Jack, sees a time when the world is puppeted by the rich and the rest are just along for the ride.
When NanoTech, a company owned by their uncle, develops and releases humanoid robots to replace workers in dangerous jobs, it sparks protests from the newly-unemployed. Worse, it catches the attention of radical elements of society who are looking for an excuse to tear down the system, whether or not it’s a good idea. The problems only get worse when the bots’ high energy demands necessitate a controversial nuclear powerplant.
While Riley works to persuade the public to accept the new innovations, Jack’s attempts to expose corruption cause him to come in conflict with the system and his family. Both work to make the other understand his point of view and heal the divide between them, and neither will stop until he succeeds — or until civilization crashes around them.

From as young as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to create things. It started with an obsession of drawing cartoon characters with pen and paper. As soon as I got my hands on some multimedia software, I’d spend hours creating graphic designs and animations that I could upload online. I saw improvement with every attempt which made me want to do it more and more. The same applies to my work. Creating stories is my favourite hobby. Bringing something to life that people can experience really motivates me to continue writing.

Home Groupies II by Ken Montrose
About Home Groupies II by Ken Montrose:
Like its predecessor, Home Groupies II is a ‘thought for the day’ book in the form of a novella. The lives of the core characters give rise to the daily messages.
Also like its predecessor, Home Groupies II has a message, characters, and a plot. I know you will enjoy all three again.
EXCERPTS:
“If a tree falls on you in the woods, but nobody else hears it, you still get hurt.”
—–
“Today I will remember a smart body at rest in a good place tends to stay at rest in that place.”
—–
Surprise and Suspicion
“What’d you do?” my wife asked as I handed her the flowers.
“Nothing,” I said. “Can’t I buy you flowers without being accused?”
“No – what did you do?”
“I bought you some flowers,” I said. “Because I love you.”
“OK, you’re forgiven,” she said, taking the flowers.
Today I will do something nice for someone.
(Even if they’re likely to question my motives.)

Living in a cat house
At three in the morning a paw to the eye, a tiny head butt, and a loud meow awakened me. I muttered something I wouldn’t want my kids to repeat. After I scratched his ears, our cat curled up next to me and went to sleep, apparently drifting off in mid-purr.
I will not always be in sync with those I love,
but giving them a little attention goes a long way.

Sleeper Ship
“As penance for not being honest with his Admiral, Captain Tanner Scott has been sent on a boring routine maintenance mission of checking the RIM boundary buoys one after another and that lets him enjoy his Scotch in peace.
Imagine his surprise when a Sleeper ship suddenly arrives on the RIM and he learns that the thousands of alien Sleepers are all children! While making that known has already gotten RIM Confederacy realms fighting, the real hidden problem is the secret that a virus infects the alien Sleepers.
Finding out the Sleeper’s secret is one thing but the news of what that virus could bring to the RIM and what it might do is the real reason that a powerful RIM Royal realm wants to enslave the alien Sleepers.
When Captain Scott realizes that another RIM planetary realm has also learned what the virus could be worth, they too try to take over the Sleeper ship and that means that Tanner can’t as per usual self-medicate with Scotch but instead has to overcome the RIM’s adversaries and somehow save the alien Sleepers too!”

Being a youngster in the 1950’s meant that I was a voracious reader in what has been called the Golden Age of Science Fiction. That meant that for me, my heroes were not on the hockey rink or gridiron – but instead in my local Library where at 12 I had a full Adult card (thanks Dad!) and took out more than 5 books a week.
Everyone from Heinlein, Norton, Leiber, Pohl, Anderson, Simak, Asimov, Brackett, Van Vogt and more….I fell in love with and eventually owned Ace Doubles of my own. While I never knew who wrote the Tom Corbett – Space Cadet series, I fell in love with them and they had a place of honor on my own bookcase too!
With that kind of an introduction to Science Fiction, it’s no wonder that when got my writing work done, I turned my own fictional side of my brain to writing same. It’s one thing I know to write – and a totally different matter to release same to the world – something that I’ve just started to work on….suffice it to say my own works are rooted in that Golden Age and it’s that era that I’d like to one day be known as a teensy contributor to in some small way.

TOP 100 AMAZON BEST SELLER’S RANK FOR MULTIPLE BOOKS
After a life time of writing poetry, books, nonfiction, and legal documents, it was author Ray Bradbury’s friendship and encouragement that finally inspired Dale E. Manolakas to pursue writing as a career. He taught her that the characters wrote the book–she didn’t. Raised just outside Los Angeles by a surgeon father and a homemaker-author mother, Dale E. Manolakas had always aspired to an acting career, but also had to make a living.
Dale E. Manolakas earned her B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles, and M.A., M.S., Ph.D. and J.D. degrees from the University of Southern California. She is a member of the California Bar, had the privilege of clerking for The Honorable Arthur L. Alarcón at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, was a litigator in two major Los Angeles law firms, and a senior appellate attorney at the California Court of Appeals, as well as an Administrative Law Judge.
Before that she was a teacher, primarily at the high school, adult school, and university levels, and holds a public administrative services credential. In addition, she has pursued her passion for acting, primarily on the stage, but also in film and television. She is a member of both Actors’ Equity and SAG-AFTRA. She also has raised three very independent daughters and lives with her husband, a retired attorney, in an otherwise animal-free environment in California.

Author Bio:
T. Jackson King (Tom) is a professional archaeologist and journalist. He writes hard science fiction, anthropological SciFi, dark fantasy/horror and contemporary fantasy/magic realism–but that didn’t happen until he was 38.
Before then, college years spent in Paris and in Tokyo led Tom into antiwar activism, hanging out with some Japanese hippies and learning how often governments lie to their citizens. The latter lesson led him and a college buddy to publish the Shinjuku Sutra English language underground tabloid in Japan in 1967. That was followed by helping shut down the University of Tennessee at Knoxville campus in 1968 and a bus trip to Washington D.C. for the Second March on Washington where thousands demanded an end to the Vietnam War.
Temporary sanity returned when Tom worked in a radiocarbon lab at UC Riverside and earned an MA degree in Archaeology from UCLA. His interests in ancient history, ancient cultures and journalism got him several government agency jobs that paid the bills, led him to roam the raw landscape of the Western United States, and helped him and his wife Leslee raise three kids.
A funny thing happened on the way to normality. By the time he was 38 and doing federal arky work in Colorado, Tom’s first novel STAR TRADERS was a stage play in his head that wouldn’t go away. So he wrote it down. It got rejected. His next novel was published as RETREAD SHOP (Warner Books, 1988). It was off to the writing races and Tom’s many voyages of imaginative discovery have led to 18 published novels, a book of poetry, and a conviction that when Humans reach the stars, we will find them crowded with space-going Aliens. We will be the New Kids On The Block! This theme appears in much of Tom’s short fiction and novel writing.
Tom lives in Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA and hangs with a group of smart and tolerant Westerners. Divorce has taught him to smile a lot and to work at being a Nice Guy. Still, he is pretty weird. Has been since fourth grade when he began reading SciFi. Since then, he and Authority have rarely been in agreement.
Readers are welcome to visit his T. Jackson King Facebook page. If you Friend him you will get the latest news on his writing efforts! Also, Tom’s Twitter handle is @TJacksonKing. Reviews of his novels, interviews and news of upcoming novels can be found at his author page on http://www.tjacksonking.com/.

eMOTION: Forced Pair
Marion Dent is a high-functioning sociopath, trained by the U.S. military to become the perfect soldier to combat the newest form of illegal emotional-tampering technology known as eTech. Relieved of his duty, he has become a contractor for the highest bidder—his mental handicap making him the perfect weapon in a world where illegally controlling emotions means controlling absolute economic power.
Dent contracts out to steal a package — a young Japanese girl with a very unique talent which has the potential to render current eTech obsolete and usher in a new form of undetectable emotion-tampering.
After seemingly being betrayed by the person who hired him, Dent and the girl find themselves in a tentative partnership as they struggle to survive—and understand each other. Dent must figure out why he was betrayed, find the true players behind the young girl’s past as well as his own, and understand why, for the first time in his life, fulfilling the contract may not be the correct course of action.
If Dent can figure out why this young girl makes him act irrationally he may have a chance to save her from the same fate he suffered at a young age — being studied and manipulated into becoming as an unwitting pawn as countries and corporations fight for economic dominion, with no remorse for those they harm or kill in order to obtain this ultimate power.
Sometimes a sociopath is the only hope for ensuring the emotional freedom of the world.

The best stories of life are never black or white, right or wrong. It’s not so much the actions the characters take, but more the reasons behind those actions.
Southern California resident who grew up on fantasy and sci-fi movies, comic books, and classic RPGs – And I never grew out of them.
I’ve always loved writing as much as reading and in 2012 decided to take my writing into the professional realm. I began working on Echoes of Power, an epic fantasy series, that has since grown and evolved into much more than I could ever have dreamed. The first installment, Echoes of Power: Book I is slated for release 2015.
The Fifth and Dent series deliver thrillers with a sci-fi twist, introducing eTech and the possibility of living in a world where emotions can be controlled by technology.
In the thriller/urban fantasy genre, Forsaken: Ev and Ell takes a twist on Heaven vs. Hell and the consequences of choices.
My taste in reading and writing varies widely but fantasy will always be my go-to genre.
A picture may paint a thousand words, but a few choice words can paint a thousand pictures.

Home Groupies III by Ken Montrose
About Home Groupies III by Ken Montrose:
The third in the series, Home Groupies III uses the ‘thought for the day’ format to tell the story of people in recovery. The daily messages range from the mundane to the sublime. Here’s a sample.
Home, no sweets, home
I left the hospital relieved to have survived. When I got home I had second thoughts. Almost everything unhealthy was gone. No Oreos, no licorice, no breakfast cereals whose first three ingredients were sugar, corn syrup, and fructose. No salami, pastrami, chipped ham, bologna, or pepperoni. Gone were the barbeque chips, rippled chips, salt and vinegar chips, and cheese puffs.
My first reaction was to whine about the loss of my sugary and greasy loved ones. Then I remembered my human loved ones loved one or more of the missing items at least as much as I did. They had sacrificed some of their favorite foods for me. I felt truly loved.
Today I will remember “I love you” can be expressed many ways.

Forgiveness in Recovery by Ken Montrose
About Forgiveness in Recovery by Ken Montrose:
Written for people new to recovery, this workbook helps the reader develop a realistic outlook on forgiveness. Basic, and sometimes difficult, truths discussed in Forgiveness include:
• The people we hope will forgive us don’t have to. They get to set their own criteria for forgiveness.
• Seeing the other person’s point of view isn’t always easy. We may not understand their experiences and expectations.
• Our point of view may not be easy for them to see. They may not understand our experiences and expectations
• We do well to practice the AA slogan clean your side of the street.
• Forgiveness is a wonderful gift, but one we may have to give judiciously. We may not want to forgive someone who shows no remorse and continues to do things that hurt us.
• Part of recovery is learning to forgive ourselves, once we’ve put up ‘roadblocks’ to repeating past behavior.

The Road Way Less Traveled: Starting Recovery Young by Ken Montrose
About The Road Way Less Traveled: Starting Recovery Young by Ken Montrose:
The Road Way Less Traveled looks at the special problems faced by people trying to get clean and sober in their teens and early twenties:
• Everybody you know drinks/snorts/smokes/injects something. Otherwise you probably wouldn’t spend time with them.
• The prospect of a living another fifty years or more without drugs depresses the hell out of you. “What will I do for fun? How will I spend my time?”
• Being the youngest person at the NA meeting, you wonder what you have in common with the oldtimers, and could they possibly understand what you’re going through.
• You’re dependent on drug-abusers for food and shelter. They’re your parents.
With humor and practical advice, The Road Way Less Traveled explores ways to get around these issues. It also reassures the reader that life will get better, and feeling out of place is normal for the young person getting clean.
And there’s parables!
“There were three houses in a row. In each house lived one man. These houses became infested with singing rats. The rats sang special songs that touched each man’s soul, even though each rat sang a different song. These rats carried fleas, and the flea bites made the men sick. The rats ate most of the men’s food, made nests in their furniture, and ran up the phone bill. Soon the three houses were falling apart because the men were too busy listening to the rats to make home repairs.
“Eventually the men realized they had to change their lives. The first decided he would keep one rat, but the rest had to go. “Once I make up my mind, I stick to my guns,” He said. “I can handle a rat or two.” Six months later the rats threw him out, but kept his car and his credit cards. “Don’t come back, or we’ll rat you out to your probation officer,” they told him.
“The second man pitched a tent in his yard, and decided he would only go back into his house to eat. “That way I can still have music with my meals.” Two years later he kicked out the rats and replaced them with dancing mice. “This way I can be entertained when I eat, without all that noise the rats made.” When they buried him, the mice danced on his grave.
“The third man burned his house to the ground. All the rats that weren’t killed ran to his neighbors’ houses, too afraid to return. The third man also lived in a tent for awhile. Slowly, a little at a time, he built a new house where his old house had stood. He bought a mean cat.” p. 7

Author Bio:
I live and write on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. With the ocean and a beautiful city harbour just steps from my door, I consider myself one very lucky writer.
I am the polar opposite of the revered Domestic Goddess. I enjoy solitude and all things book-related, tolerate some required physical activity for my health’s sake and have, over time, come to the conclusion that life is not a bowl of cherries; it’s more a mix of hocus pocus, good and bad surprises, and unexpected rainfall. All of which is completely beyond my control. I’m not sure I trust the Universe’s running of things, but I respect it. I do trust in the power of a good book. Books have been my companions, friends, and teachers all of my life.
I write both contemporary romance and romantic suspense, the latter because sometimes a nasty and conniving villain pops into my head and I just have to get him out.

The Children of Cain “House of Dvanaesti”
About The Children of Cain “House of Dvanaesti”:
After ten years of political dirt-digging, Gabriel Hawthorne was accustomed to unearthing all the usual skeletons. But this time, the skeletons are covered in the inhuman flesh of vampires who have walked the earth for almost as long as man has. An ancient and secret society dedicated to the destruction of the vampires, and finally possessing the technology to realize that purpose, forces its own demands upon Gabriel: He can be a willing prisoner or unwilling sacrifice to their cause. And after the brutal murder of his friend and business associate, as well as the attempts on his own life by friend and foe, Gabriel learns there are fates far more worse than death.

Author Bio:
This is the bio of two friends who share a passion for storytelling. Scott loved telling stories through music and received a degree in music theatre. He and David met while David was finishing up a degree in Creative Writing. The friendship was almost instantaneous. Not surprising, given the number of similarities in their lives. Both had served in the military; Scott in the Navy and David in the Army. Both were raised in small Florida towns. One day, after long conversations about their love of all things storytelling, they decided to give collaboration a try. They wrote a few short plays and decided to try their hands together writing a novel. What they found was storytelling together was much more rewarding and satisfying than writing separately. They wrote that first novel just to see if they could. And the rest, as the cliché says, is history.
