Before Baby by Autumn Hoverter, MS, RDN
About Before Baby by Autumn Hoverter, MS, RDN:
Before Baby: A step-by-step guide to making and freezing meals before your newborn makes cooking impossible
by Autumn Hoverter, MS, RDN, with Ben Hoverter
Before Baby guides you through a tried-and-true method to fill your freezer with nourishing, dependable meals for when your baby arrives and you no longer have the time or energy to cook. It contains delicious recipes from a registered dietitian-nutritionist, surefire advice on how to freeze properly, and prep timelines that really work.
All the recipes are naturally gluten- and dairy-free because those are the two foods to which breast-fed babies most commonly react. Before Baby is also sprinkled with pre- and post-birth nutrition advice to keep your family healthy, and I give modifications to make every recipe vegan.
Before Baby contains 15 main-dish recipes that can be prepared either on the stovetop or in the slow cooker, as well as recipes for various sides and snacks. Each recipe makes several quarts of food and will feed a family for two to three meals. I’ve also included three different prep timelines, so regardless of the time you have before baby arrives, you’ll be able to fill your freezer with great food.
So, who is this book perfect for?
Expectant families without a lot of support who want to eat well after their baby comes.
Families with more than one child. Kids don’t stop needing to be fed when a newborn comes home!
Families with specific dietary needs.
Friends or family members of expectant parents who want to help keep them fed.
Available for Kindle and Kindle Apps on any device! Print version available in August 2015.

Life’s Too Short for Leftovers; 9 Lessons from a Third World Kitchen
About Life’s Too Short for Leftovers; 9 Lessons from a Third World Kitchen:
Part inspirational rallying call, part first-person, autobiographical narrative, part eulogy for a treasured friend and mentor, “Life’s Too Short for Leftovers” takes the reader on a highly personal journey of self-discovery. Best-selling author Michael Ditchfield’s “9 Lessons from a Third World Kitchen” – cleverly presented as courses on a menu – conveys a singular perspective on what it means to be human, and what is required of us as individuals to be active, engaged participants in humanity.
With delightfully dry wit and profound understanding, Ditchfield introduces us to Chef Noel Cunningham – his guide and teacher – along with a kitchen-full of congenial and extraordinarily noble real-life protagonists that have served as both lightning rods and light posts in the author’s relentless (albeit sometimes reluctant) pathway toward personal transformation.
Ditchfield is a master storyteller, and his conversational style skillfully relates timeless philosophies to contemporary challenges and opportunities that face Third World countries today. Based on his extensive experience in Africa, Ditchfield brings a generous portion of lucid insights and aha moments to the table, leading the charge toward improved, positive outcomes – in our own lives, and in the lives of others. “Life’s Too Short for Leftovers” is a stimulating and memorable must-read for students of Life.

Ever since the age of 7, his life was turned completely upside down. Throughout his life he was ridiculed, shunned, and rejected by many people. He was labeled “mentally slow or retarded.” As he grew up, he had a difficult time trying to make it in society. He was denied many job opportunities due to fact that employers wouldn’t give him a real chance. He had a hard time with building any relationship with women. He even went to church to seek God, only to face rejection from many members even the pastor.
As time goes by, he moves to Burlington, North Carolina just to escape the “Hell” that he was facing in his hometown, but run right into the same treatment that he was getting before. Because of this and many failed attempts to find employment, he becomes “homeless” and staying in hotels. He gets help from a very close friend that’s like a sister to him and moves to Kentucky for a fresh start. He moves there and has success finding work, but that’s short lived. He got fired due to “impulsiveness” that comes from the Attention Deficit Disorder. He then gains employment quickly, but is once again denied before he was given a “real shot.” After a long ended endless battle and no hope of a future, he moves to Maryland. Just as before, he finds work quickly, but only to have his hopes crushed again and again. Many repeated situations and financial problems lead him to return back home to his mother.
Even though he hated to return back to a place that was very traumatic, he had to return back to help his mother. She was the backbone in his life. She encourages him to press forward and fight the fight. She became the source determination for him. He then seeks God for help and runs into a guy in Burlington, NC that will guide him in the right path to find his ‘calling.” He then ask God to help him build his faith, give him wisdom, and completely turn his life around. After getting baptized and walking in God’s divine purpose, his life begins to change.
During that year, he was able to find work through an employment agency. There have been many obstacles that came his way during the time of getting his life on track. Even with many obstacles, God was with him. Even on the job, he was dealing with the unfair treatment that he received as a child. He was overlooked and wasn’t given a chance to be hired “full-time.” Everything changed when one person gave him a chance and trained him for open positions that lead to a full-time employment. Despite everything that came his way, he prevails and gains full-time employment.
Also during the time of life, he was able to find “true love.” This person gave him the motivation he needed to get through life and pushed him to become more than what he limited himself to be. Through this, he started writing about his life. He stated this, “Throughout my life, mama raised a good man, but in the end…It was God that made me who I am today.”

This book is the latest installment of the educational series about the cultures of the world that speaks to young children about the topics that interest them, such as the foods people eat, the names of boys and girls, and the activities that children their age living in a foreign land are likely to engage in. This exciting visit to Greece also introduces the important concept of democracy to children and highlights some of the other cultural contributions that Greece has made to Western civilization. Basic information is offered in a playful way that won’t overwhelm children.

Screaming in Paris by Brian Lageose
About Screaming in Paris by Brian Lageose:
Once upon a time, an extremely dysfunctional family decided that it would be a splendid idea to take a trip to Paris. In past adventures, this family had been unsuccessful in simply visiting their local grocery store without potential incarceration, so the prospect of descending upon another country should have sounded alarm bells. It did not. The family happily made reservations and purchased tickets and packed suitcases. And then they headed for the airport.”
Thus begins the eye-opening tale of what can happen when a group of relatively-decent people is dropped into a foreign land, under the supervision of a somewhat-neurotic leader who would much rather be doing anything else other than leading. It’s fair to say that neither the family nor the country of France was prepared for this expedition. Harsh words have since been spoken, and certain legal restrictions are now in place to hopefully prevent the particular chain of events that led to this family nearly losing their collective minds in the City of Love from ever happening again.
Despite the litigation and the finger-pointing, the family, overall, had a smashing time during their Sojourn on the Seine, and they fervently hope that other families and adventurous friends and domestic partners take advantage of France-focused travel opportunities. Still, there are certain things that potential participants in the Parisian Parade should know, if only to prevent that startling moment when your own family turns against you and hurls your annoying ass off the top of the Eiffel Tower.
In the interests of providing the right cautionary notes to the unknowing public, the family turned to the one person who had reminded them daily during their week in Paris that performance expectations were not being met: Beaumont, the anxiety-riddled tour guide during their Week of Infamy in a Land That Was Not Their Own. “Tell the people what they must know about how to behave properly in a country where you don’t understand the language!” they exclaimed, waving lit torches they had found on an abandoned set from Survivor: Loire Valley.
Actually, no one exclaimed or waved anything, yet Beaumont presumed that they did, because he has unresolved issues. He was quite enthralled by the opportunity to put pen to paper and vent about how his family nearly destroyed his sanity in the span of seven days.
And this is his story…

Author Bio:
Brian was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on a cold January day in 1965.
Clearly, the odds were already against him.
But he persevered, slugging through this and that, and he quickly learned at a very young age that some people can achieve greatness with dedication and hard work, some people are destined to awe the world with their ineptness and lack of admirable qualities, and most people are quite happy to simply plod along in the middle, leading pleasant but mundane lives where they occasionally find a stash of misplaced quarters under a sofa cushion and everybody gets to go out for ice cream.
Brian was not impressed with any of these options. He looked up from his paperwork at the Life Goals Development Center, and studied the applicants around him. Everyone else was quickly selecting one of the three avenues, shoving their completed forms at one of the bored administrative people, and then rushing out the door, because “Charlie’s Angels” was on TV in a few minutes and you couldn’t really miss THAT.
In frustration, Brian turned over his application, intent on writing a scathing missive to Whoever Was In Charge that he really didn’t appreciate the skimpy menu of opportunities, and he noticed a fourth career path, hastily scribbled in by someone with vision: “Some people feel compelled to study the world and people around them, and then stay up all night writing down their thoughts on the matter.”
Brian smiled, checked the box, and added his signature with a flourish. And so it began.

he urge to write first struck at age sixteen when working on a newsletter at a youth encampment in the woods of northern Maine. It may have been the wild night when lightning flashed at sunset followed by the northern lights rippling after dark. Or maybe it was the newsletter’s editor, a girl with eyes the color of the ocean. But he was inspired to write about the blurry line between reality and the fantastic.
Using two fingers and lots of white-out, he religiously typed five pages a day throughout college and well into his twenties. Then life intervened. He paused to raise two sons and pursue a career, in the process — and without prior plan — becoming a well-known entrepreneur in the software industry, founding several successful companies. When he found time again to daydream, the urge to write returned.
In this new stage of his life, he’s published Along the Watchtower in June, 2013 and The Daughter of the Sea and the Sky in May, 2014. His next book, The Children of Darkness, is the first of the Seekers series, a dystopian trilogy, and will be published in June, 2015.
David and his wife split their time between Cape Cod, Florida and anywhere else that catches their fancy. He no longer limits himself to five pages a day and is thankful every keystroke for the invention of the word processor.

I get my stories from the dog walking/whispering and pet sitting service that I do and dogs I’ve had.
Dogs and humans have interacted for thousands of years and it’s good to know how to deal with them.
Through my stories I try to show people the mind of a dog and how you can get along better with them as well as the steps and precautions you should take.
I can solve any dog issue you have, as long as you listen and follow my recommendations. In 90 minutes anyone can have there dog well on it’s way to good behavior under their command.
This is the business I have run for three years full time. During the slow times I write books about the dogs and there behaviors taken from what I see happen between them, using the Magical Realism Device to give dogs “man words” to express themselves.

Although Melinda has lived in Georgia and Texas, she’s a California girl at heart. Her earliest memories are of life on an isolated 50-acre sheep ranch in rural Sonoma County, California. Picture rolling hills covered in brown grass, a eucalyptus forest, a long gravel driveway lined with plump sheep and no sidewalks. It was a big deal to drive into town on a one-lane road in a ramshackle, bubble-fendered pickup for an ice cream.
Flash forward to this century. Melinda lives in California’s hot central valley with her husband – her basketball playing college sweetheart. With three kids the couple has done the soccer thing, the karate thing, the dance thing, the Little League thing and, of course, the basketball thing.
Melinda writes sweet to medium heat contemporary romances as Melinda Curtis and red hot reads as Mel Curtis. She loves writing romances about women who don’t realize how strong they are until a hero comes along to show them, while capturing the wry humorous power struggle of falling in love – because, really, who lets the man have the last word?

I’ve always been drawn to the dark side of the human psyche, and devoured everything from Edgar Allan Poe to Shirley Jackson growing up. It is no surprise to me I turned out to be a writer of psychological suspense, often with threads of paranormal, mystery and romance.
I like to write about ordinary women who are at a difficult time in their lives, and are suddenly faced with an external evil force. Women who are stronger than they think they are. I didn’t think a whole lot about theme until I had written a couple of books, but I realized with the writing of my third novel ‘Chill Waters’ that my books generally have to do with betrayal and abandonment in some form, and learning to trust again. And more important, learning to trust oneself. Almost any good book will tell you something about the author herself. (Or himself.) You can’t avoid it. But first and foremost I want to give readers a roller-coaster ride, one that keeps them on the edge of that proverbial seats and resonates in the imagination long after the last page is read.
In addition to my critically aclaimed and award-winning novels, my articles and short stories have appeared in any many publications including The Toronto Star, Atlantic Advocate, Seek, Home Life Magazine, Mystery Scene. My short story Dark Reunion was anthologized in investigating Women, Published by Simon & Pierre.
I’ve held workshops and given talks at various schools and libraries, including New Brunswick Community College, and the University of New Brunswick. I am also a tutor with Winghill School, a distance education school in Ottawa for aspiring writers.
I’m a member of the Writer’s Federation of New Brunswick, past regional Vice-President of Crime Writers of Canada and International Thriller Writers.

Student of Visual, Creative and Spiritually inspired art, Pamela is extremely thankful to God for granting her the privilege to be a creator and say that it is good. Everybody’s got his own style of something; that’s a blessing. One might take offense but Pam considers it a compliment if she’s told, “You don’t sound or do things like anyone I’ve ever known.”
Pamela has been writing fictional stories, since she was 11 years old. It’s a welcomed catharsis. She’d often wow her English/Creative Writing teachers with distinguishing characters and unheard of destinations. She’s a graduate of Art & Design High School. “I LOVED it! Totally hooked and want to hear more, especially about the dragons, epic fantasy & magic!” — M. Tate, Book Reviewer
Ten-year-old Andy Smithson believes he is merely a kid too often in trouble with his overambitious parents–until his destiny as the Chosen One to break a 500-year-old curse is revealed. Swept away to the land of Oomaldee of medieval times, he discovers he must collect several ingredients for a magic potion to defeat the oppressive curse that plagues the land, the first of which is the scale of a red dragon, the fiercest of all dragon species. There’s just one tiny problem, he’s never battled dragons, except in his Dragon Slayer video game. Armed with only his wits, an ancient sword and a magic key, he must overcome grave peril at every turn before he can even attempt the feat. No pressure, but it’s his skill alone that will save – or condemn – the kingdom forever.
“A very exciting dragon book… Refreshingly different from what is out there already!” — Erik Weibel (age 12), This Kid Reviews Books Blog
“I was hooked. This is a mythical fantasy & magic series with dragons that goes in a unique direction. The characters were fun and the story kept me guessing… Imaginative and worth checking out.” — Brooke Bumgardner for Brooke Blogs
“This mythical story has plenty of exciting dragon moments and a great deal of humor… Delightful characters including stone statues of knight that come to life, dragons, exciting moments, and plenty of cool dragon extras.” — SP Reviews

Green Blood Rising by Lea Tassie
About Green Blood Rising by Lea Tassie:
In 2050 mankind still believes nature can be conquered.
Until The Devastation changes everything.
Trees develop a powerful electrical system which zaps anything metal, including people wearing it or wielding it. Young trees sprout up literally everywhere they once grew before humans cut them down, the rapid growth promising to destroy most man-made structures.
In days, the supermarkets are stripped bare. In weeks, young trees are destroying roads, airports and buildings. On Wescara, a small holding on Vancouver Island, Sunny, her husband, and her extended family fight to survive. When the power fails and the technology they once took for granted is useless, the struggle escalates as desperate gangs attack, willing to kill for a morsel of food.

Author Bio:
I grew up in the Peace River district of northern British Columbia. Because we usually had six months of winter and two months poor sledding, I started reading books as soon as I could hold one. I’ve traveled and worked in many places, which may explain why I can’t stick to one genre as an author. When I discovered the temperate rainforest stretching along 1200 miles of the Pacific Coast, from Oregon to Alaska, I settled in for good. My books include humor (about cats), romantic suspense, mainstream and lately, speculative fiction. Aside from writing and reading, I like to play bridge, do crosswords, pet cats, and do water-fit exercises in the local swimming pool.
