Okay, four women all lose their husband at one time in a car accident. These women are connected only by their husband’s jobs. They know each other, but are not what you call close until their husbands are killed. This forever alters their world. Each has their unique problem.

The first book in this women’s fiction romantic series:

In The Marketing Exec’s Widow, Jen Larson is a realtor, who has for years lived as a married single. Her husband, Craig was her college sweetheart. She believes they have a good life but less than a year after losing him, she’s ready to start dating again. This throws her relationship with the other executives’ wives into a tailspin. They don’t understand how she can do this.

The truly fun part about a series like this is no one book is about only one woman. Each plays a part in the other book. She discovers her husband had an affair and his son is in an abusive situation. This rocks her world and forces her to make some very hard decision about not only her future, but also the future of her husband’s son.

CFO’s Widow has not been released. Still working on this one, Marianne Clark is the oldest of the four women. She loved her husband and has done her best to deal with the massive hole his death has caused in her life. She is ready to give love a chance when she discovers a lump in breasts. Faced with her mortality, she has to make the hard decision of letting a man into her life or building a wall around herself. Why did you decide to write romance novels?

I fell in love with romance novels when I was a teenager. I can’t imagine writing anything else because I’m an optimist. I love the happy ending.

How much of your personality and life experiences are in your writing?

My life experiences and personality bleeds through my writing. I enjoy creating stories with strong women fiction elements because I feel my life has followed the course of many other women. It is how we relate to each other.

What kind of research do you do for a book?

Depends on the book, some require more research than others. In my Family Tree series, I read everything I could get my hands on about spiritual guides. It helped me understand what need to be in the book.

Do you feel humor is important in fiction and why? Yes, and I try to add it into every book. This is more difficult than others. But I do believe that humor is needed in life so it has to be in books too.

What is your writing routine once you start a book? Once I started a book, I tried to work on it every day during the week. I like to take weekends off to spend time with my husband.

What about your family, do they know not to bother you when you are writing – or are there constant interruptions?

I don’t have much trouble with family interruptions both of my boys are grown. Only the occasional call will cause a problem.

What do you do to relax and recharge your batteries? My husband and I love to travel and play golf. That’s the main way I recharge my batteries.

13 Favorite Foods in no particular order. Mainly, because on any given day my taste can change.

1. Nachos
2. Cheesecake
3. Ham with strawberry sauce (I make this every year for Christmas eve)
4. Divinity – love to make this too.
5. Lasagna
6. Pizza – all meat with a thin crust
7. Fudge with walnuts
8. A thick steak – medium with a baked potato
9. Salad – Red Robin – Barbque Chicken salad oh, oh, really like this
10. Manicotti
11. Pineapple coconut cake ( have a great recipe I cook for this one too.)
12. Kolaches – ( make these too with apricot filling. So good.)
13. Mexican food – name it I probably love it.

As you can see, I live a normal life. I work in my office writing during the day and relax with my husband at night. I take off weekends and play golf. Who knows I might be the lady checking out at the grocery store behind you.
