Seriously Mum, How Many Cats?

CatsKindleAbout Seriously Mum, How Many Cats?:

After six years of living in the olive groves of Andalucia, Alan and Lorna should have adjusted to Spanish life, but things never seem to run smoothly. When Lily the alpaca falls pregnant, they are in for an anxious few months as they battle against the odds to keep themselves afloat.

‘In Seriously Mum, How Many Cats?’ there is concern that the cats are going to take over the farm. There are cats in the barn, cats in the garden and even a cat invasion in the bedroom one night.

Exploding tyres, flamenco dancing, religious parades and, of course, all your favourite animals return once again to entertain you in the latest story about these much-loved expats.

Author Bio:
Alan Parks was born in Eastbourne, East Sussex in 1978. In 2004 Alan’s Dad died of cancer after he also went through a long term illness and two liver transplants. One of his mottos was always ‘live life for today, life is too short’. That philosophy has encouraged Alan to get out there and pursue his dreams.
Alan’s life changed for the better (he is constantly reminded) when he met Lorna in 2003. Work consisted of fairly mundane, mainly managerial posts. In 2008, Alan and Lorna moved to rural Andalucía, Spain, and now live in an old Olive Mill, off-grid, with a menagerie of animals.

Dynamite Fishermen

Dynamite-Fishermen-Cover-LARGEAbout Dynamite Fishermen:

Conrad Prosser, immersed in the civil disorder of early-’80s Beirut, employs whatever means are necessary to expose the organization behind a series of car bombings. Uncertainty among the characters, coupled with relentless gunfire and explosions, make for an extraordinary novel, each page as eruptive as the city providing the setting.” KIRKUS REVIEWS
Beirut, 1982. Conrad Prosser is a skilled Arabist, expert agent handler, prolific intelligence reporter, and a connoisseur of Beirut’s underground nightlife. But, as his two-year tour at the U.S. Embassy nears its end, Prosser’s intelligence career is in jeopardy because he has not recruited an agent.

Surveying his contacts, Prosser selects an attractive Lebanese doctoral student and her idealistic brother for development. At the same time, he holds clandestine meetings daily with his Lebanese and Palestinian agents, pressing them about the latest wave of car bombings that has terrorized Muslim West Beirut. But when one of his agents supplies information used to capture a Syrian-backed bombing team, Prosser sets off a cycle of retaliation that threatens more than his career and cherished way of life.

At first denying, then later concealing, apparent attempts on his life, Prosser sets out to save his job and his skin, exploiting agents, his best friend, a former lover, his new girlfriend and her enigmatic brother. In doing so, his heedless actions put their lives at risk.

Author Bio:
In an effort to shine light and bring awareness to this widespread culture of abuse, author Victoria Mulato bravely shares the story of her own childhood growing up in the Philippines.

Sister Moon of the Philippines tells about the effects of abuse on the mind of a child, the heart wrenching struggles of an impoverished family, and how a young girl strives and dreams for something better.

Born in the 1960s, Mulato is the first child of many. By the time she is four, she is taking care of three other siblings. She has to deal with a violent alcoholic father who spends every penny he earns on his addiction, leaving his family on the brink of starvation on a daily basis. Often, her mother is missing and Mulato must find a way to protect her siblings from their father and provide for their needs when she is just a child herself.
Even through many horrible experiences and extraordinary challenges, her spirit shines, never giving up hope. Demonstrating an extraordinary resiliency to survive against all odds, Mulato is inspiring as she finds the courage to succeed in her own life.

Through this book and her work, Mulato’s goal is to help stop domestic violence and child abuse by educating the very young as well as adults about the effects of physical, emotional, and mental abuse, and show those in need how and where to seek help. Just as importantly, she offers this message of hope to abused people everywhere: “Despite horrible experiences and extraordinary challenges, you must keep going for yourself as well as for the sake of the others, especially the most vulnerable innocent ones.”

Author Bio:
C. Taylor, Jr. is definitely a life-long fan of science fiction. The more technically correct, the better! Still, when mixing the “what-ifs” with the “what-is,” he looks for the most likely and most fantastic future for mankind and technology.

In the midst of the many forms of media for science fiction, he has enjoyed books the most. The best science fiction story requires much more than technology. Relationships, learning, growing, living. The lull of back-story combined with life and technology – explosive!

He has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, and he has worked in private industry, education, and research. One boss made it clear, Mr. Taylor (at that time) has the heart of a researcher. Maybe that means dreamer. Yes.

Interaction with US citizens and Internationals from around the world gives Dr. Taylor a unique insight into cultures and technology. This has translated into a unique book series about a secret organization, an impossible old and powerful computer, competing megacorporations, and a new world born out of horrendous struggle.

When Raven Crfies by Kadashan

When_Raven_Cries_Cover_for_KindleAbout When Raven Crfies by Kadashan:

Tlingit people are often labeled as “stoic” or “worrier-like,” but in actuality we are a community-focused people whose own stories reveal what are often universal truths and traditional insights. Kadashan accomplishes this vision of “universality” in simple but profound story of one man’s struggle with his own traditional beliefs and those of the dominant culture.
Tlingit stories are rarely without a moral or straightforward point. This is true in this book, and although it may seem outside the boundaries of defined fascinating fiction, this story is true to the makeup of Tlingit oratory. Here in Kadashan’s writing, there is a history, a reality of experience and discovery that it is typical in Tlingit storytelling. The elements of fiction are present, but so are the elements of traditional imagery—as in the presence of Raven’s presence, which unites traditional and modern story, bringing insights to the main character’s struggles. It might be best to refer to such story development as “bicultural fiction.”

Author Bio:
Kadashan was given his birth name by his grandmother who named him after her father, John Kadashan, a clan leader from Wrangell, located on the southern end of the southeast panhandle. The elder Kadashan, as a young man, was one of the guides to world traveler and naturalist, John Muir. In his elder years he was known as a “peace-maker” among his native peoples. Kadashan means “red tide coming.”

Twenty years later his retired teacher and college mentor visited him, read the stories he had stored in a drawer, and persuaded him to find a publisher. In time his rejection slips were thicker than his manuscripts. Eventually, he was discovered by the publisher of the Alaska Native Magazine who began to feature his short stories and his water color paintings that illustrated his stories. Yaakwdaat Aya is now published as a short story collection.
Shortly after, he began writing essays for the Tundra Times, a statewide Alaska Native newspaper. His commentaries dealt with Indian politics and tribal governments. Eventually he was under contract with the Juneau Empire and wrote a monthly column for the Capital city’s statewide newspaper. He tweaked these essays and self-published The Laws of Nature and Nature’s God in eBook.

The Law of Nature and Nature’s God

About The Law of Nature and Nature’s God:

The premise of Kadashan’s articles is focused on the Natural Law. He discusses how the Founding Fathers based the U.S. Constitution of the United States on the laws of nature and the laws of God. He also tells about how the Native American knew, understood and lived the Natural Law. In the essay Native American Influence he informs readers about how the Founding Fathers used the concepts of the Iroquois nation to form how the federal government was structured. Find out how the Indian Nation was pondered by the Founders to be the 14th colony and why it didn’t happen. The book is divided into four parts: Native American Influence, the Natural Law, features about the Alaska Native Brotherhood, and reclaiming our power as true blooded Americans.

In his capacity as a tribal president, Kadashan actively participated in self- governance meetings and conferences throughout the United State, including Washington D.C., and was able to rub elbows with prominent tribal leaders, and people in the governmental agencies. Kadashan used his experience and knowledge as a tribal leader to pen his thoughts about tribal governments and their relationship with the federal government. He writes about how the Native American leader’s progressed through promoting their own initiatives to advance more self-governance for themselves.

DEATH POPE by John Oakes

DP300pdiAbout DEATH POPE by John Oakes:

DEATH POPE is the tale of Roberto Spaccio, a young man elected to be pope in the year 1522. His ascendancy is clearly a political compromise between two factions of powerful Italian cardinals, one of which is headed by his father, but it also serves to mask his father’s true intentions for the Church and European politics. The setting is Renaissance Rome, a city on the rise after a thousand years of medieval slum life. Unlike his native Verona, Roberto finds too soon that Rome is a rough place full of bawdy houses and men who will kill you for nothing.

Tucked away across the Tiber, the Vatican stands as the capitol of Christendom, besieged by threat of foreign interference and the rise of northern reformers, all while struggling to avoid bankruptcy due to its largest building project in history, St. Peter’s Basilica. The political elites in control of the Church are notoriously corrupt, and far more concerned by their greed and infighting than the plight of the people.

Roberto struggles with his role as a political puppet as his naiveté is confronted time and again. Realization of his complicity in the barbarity and abuses of power crushes Roberto, that is, until he finds his true calling as an agent of the Angel of Death. While maintaining the guise of the oblivious pawn by day, he begins to move through the night, setting out to sweep the Church clean in order to redeem himself to God and to those whose blood stains his conscience.

They made him the Holy Father. Now, he’ll make them pay.

DEATH POPE is a pulpy action and political thriller. A religious Robin Hood with a touch of Tarantino.

A family man and strong believer in stable leadership, Ubong Ekpo is an Author, Public Speaker and Coach who has spent the last 7 years focusing on growing and developing effective people and teams in various capacities across a range of industries.
Greatly influenced by John maxwell and Mike Murdock, his top three passions in life are speaking, writing and growing others (individuals and teams) and he has charted his life course around these very things.

He always aims to leave people and places better than he met them.
His first book: “The A.R.T of Motivation” was sparked by the dreary answers he got from New Hires in corporate training sessions to the question: “Where do you see yourself in the next 6 months to a year?”
The uncertainty and lack of direction he sensed in these young people and he had himself known years earlier, compelled him to integrate personal development tracks in the corporate training curriculum and later he evolved his own methodology to helping people discover their life goals. From that point it became clear to him that one of his life’s main goals is to help others discover their own life goals and reach them.

9 Incarnate

9Incarnate-ISISAbout 9 Incarnate:

Caitlin Diggs will have more to worry about than her on again and off again romance with her FBI superior when the goddess Isis appears in her mind. Is this a trick, or perhaps an evil entity linked to her psychic gift offered by the crystal? The crystal has offered Caitlin psychic gifts but also a strange connection to the Star of the Sea, or Isis. Even her cat Bastet seems to share in this linkage.
To make matters more complex, Diggs finds the Ennead has returned to Earth as promised. But are they here to share secrets of the pyramids or to take over? Murders and a mass demon disappearance coincide with their arrival to invite not only high strangeness but high suspicion.
Now Diggs must question if she is under the influence of gods, aliens, or a criminal concoction of both.
Because she can’t fingerprint the ‘gods’, Diggs’ search for the truth will take her to an unparalleled journey she could never imagine. Time traveling to ancient Egypt may very well reveal the truth of our origins and Caitlin’s true destiny with the crystal entity. But at what ultimate price?
