Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers
Amidst a murky underworld of flesh-trafficking, prostitution and institutionalized corruption, elite soldier Jez Kornfeld is thrown into a world where nothing is what it seems, nobody can be trusted, and everything can be violently torn from him.
Ordered to disperse and arrest a crowd of Jewish demonstrators in Red Square, Jez is dismayed to find his sisters in their ranks. He sneaks them from under the noses of the secret police, but in doing so he has put his own security at risk; he has to get them out of the USSR. They cross into the Ukraine to a port on the Black Sea and he bribes them passage from Soviet soil. Jez is happy in the knowledge that his sisters are safe, but he is unaware that his every move has been observed and that he has set in motion a chain of events that will plunge his life into a headlong battle to stay alive.

Rik Stone grew up amidst the slum-lands of fifties North East England and left school at fifteen without academic qualifications.
He worked in the shipyards on a local river, spent time in the merchant navy, and went on to work in quarries in South East England.
The time came he yearned for change, so he began to study. Beginning with lower level stuff, he worked through to gaining a BSc. degree in mathematics and computing.
But he loved reading and because of it, fiction writing had always been his want. After an early retirement at fifty years of age, he was able to pursue the dream seriously. From that dream came his debut novel, Birth of an Assassin, the first in a series.

My name is Sarah Castillo, I’m 23 years old and I live in Hawaii, Maui! I’m tall and strange but my writing has inspired a lot of people online. I love it. I’m just a very bold and loving person. That’s all
I’m kind of boring too
I love working out and sometimes I just like being alone! Can you feel me on that? Alone time is happy time for me, However, I do love to explore nature and honestly, I believe in God.
Some people may not like me solely for this reason, but I love you even if you don’t believe in God. I hope you can all accept me and give my book a change because there is a part of me in there I want all of you to know because I believe it may make you realize something about yourself. ![]()

Ricky Hernandez, can hurl a 75-miles-per-hour fastball. If only he could get it near the plate. Scraping by with a single mother suffering from lupus, Ricky is determined to show up the rich bullies, the kids who mock his Mexican heritage—all of them. But it seems like a lost cause until he meets his surly hermit neighbor, who just happens to be one-time World Series MVP Jack Langford. Soon a relationship begins between the Hernandezes and Langford, who begrudgingly agrees to give Ricky a few pointers. Mostly, though, he guzzles beer while forcing the kid to do puzzling things like throw stones at trees for weeks on end. It’s a set-up you’ve seen before—bitter, fallen hero taking on his demons via a brash upstart—but Hazelgrove negates cliché by powering straight through it and embracing the classic nature of the tale, which manages to be both modern and timeless. You can taste the ballpark dust, feel the smack of the ball in your glove, and feel assured that, somehow, these three strongly drawn characters will push on to victory

STEAMROLL
Through the Black Box of Bankruptcy
A Novel by Tom Ingram
Steamroll begins…
When the career path of Don Tremain, an ambitious corporate attorney, takes an unexpected turn and he is passed over for promotion. It’s time for a change. His wife and kids loves their southern California beach life, but the bright attorney and his wife decide to take more control of their future by moving the family to a higher paying, higher profile job with Caldera Geothermal, Inc., a global alternative energy company on the frenetic San Francisco peninsula.
Tremain soon finds himself in deep over his head. To his surprise, the mentor attorney who hired him suddenly quits, leaving Tremain as the sole in-house attorney. Jealous infighting becomes rampant among the arrogant members of the company’s management team, all of whom are desperately focused on financing the conversion of its geothermal projects around the world into money machines. Tremain, as the ‘in-house’ lawyer, must go on location to fix the broken projects. He earns a position of respect within the company by accomplishing near impossible tasks deep in the outer reaches of a corrupt backward region of post-perestroika Russia, where the company’s most lucrative geothermal project is located.
Meanwhile, a crooked banker who controls a clandestine group of elite investors, attorneys, and judges, works a financial time bomb into the complicated – and not very ethical – business plan of the company. The malevolent group seeks to line its own pockets by targeting Caldera Geothermal for bankruptcy, where the banker can control the outcome by wielding his profound power over his stable of corrupt Bankruptcy Court judges. That power is manifested in the form of payoffs, blackmail, and even murder.
Tremain does his best to do things right, for his company, and for the shareholders and creditors to whom he owes serious legal obligations, but he must make tremendous sacrifices to get the job done.
What Steamroll is NOT:
This is no book about superheroes. Nor is this a book that could never happen. You won’t have to suspend disbelief to experience the tension. Did it really happen? No. It is fiction. But if you’ve ever worked in a corporation, worked in the law, or ever suffered any impact from any corporate bankruptcy, you might think you’ve already met some of these characters.
And if you don’t understand why things happen the way they do…
Or if you think the legal system yields results that are illogical and not what you would expect in a ‘fair’ world…
Then this book reveals, and even explains, some of the nefarious and powerful forces that might be at work. Are those forces really out there, controlling and ruining lives? You be the judge. And hope – and pray – that you, and Don Tremain, survive them.

About the Author
The author of Steamroll is a corporate attorney who has represented corporate debtors in bankruptcy and witnessed frustrating results in our national bankruptcy system. His legal work for a publicly traded geothermal company, and as Assistant General Counsel for a large independent United States oil company with operations in Siberia, has given him the first-hand experience to validate his accounts as credible. Although much of Steamroll appears authentic, it is a work of fiction, and any similarity of any of its characters to any person living or dead, is unintended and purely coincidental. The author earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Stanford University, his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Southern California, and his Masters in Business Administration from U.C.L.A. He currently resides in northeast Nevada. An earlier pre-publication edition of Steamroll won a 2nd place award at the Hollywood Film Festival. Steamroll is the author’s first work of fiction.

Author Bio:
I have been an avid reader and writer since my earliest school days. Reading was my first and earliest passion that I can remember, often seeking the safe sanctuary of my room or the library to read everything I could. My favorite has always been romance. I penned romantic poetry in high school and was winning school awards for my short stories at 16. In college I would hibernate in the library for days at a time, consuming every short story and novel I could find. My diploma says Bachelors in English Lit., which I’m very proud of.
I probably drink too much coffee and eat too much junk food, but to compensate do like running outdoors when the weather is nice. I love shopping in the mall even if I never find what I’m looking for. I’m a hopeful romantic who prefers stories with a happy ending. You can often find me in a coffee shop either working on my next story, or with my nose in a book.

SWEET ON YOU–A Second-Chances Spicy Romance by Janet Wellington
About SWEET ON YOU–A Second-Chances Spicy Romance by Janet Wellington:
Gabe Freeman never thought it was a good idea. When Celeste Parker’s Celestial Cookies was chosen to promote Valentine’s Day at the oldies radio station with deliveries of her gourmet cookies, the handsome deejay was dismayed to learn that he was part of the package…and what’s with those amazing cookies anyway…and why is their sugar and spice aroma affecting him like truth serum!?
And why on earth is Gabe fantasizing about Celeste, with her wild curls and multi-colored fingernails? He’s supposed to be planning his June wedding to the boss’s suitable conservative daughter. True, the marriage is more accurately a business merger, but that’s fine with sensible Gabe. After all, he’s never believed in true love and romance…
Celeste meets Gabe on her fortieth birthday, of all days! Sure, he’s cute, but he’s just another rat in the rat race and she’s had quite enough of that kind of man, thank you very much. But, is he? The man seems to be changing before her eyes, and why does he seem to be having fun spending time with her and riding around in her cookie-mobile?
Maybe this buttoned up guy isn’t quite what he seems to be. And maybe she’s ready to share some secrets of her own…if her heart is ready, that is…

I feel like I have been a writer all my life–as cliché as that sounds, even to me!–from childhood essays that ended up in the Sunday School bulletin, to long-ago burned journals (I hate that I did that!), to love-sick poems written on napkins while having a glass or three of wine, to newsletters and articles and press releases written on-the-job, and finally to happily-ever-after romances that I love love love writing!
As an award-winning author of four print-published novels via traditional publishers, I have now happily embraced the ebook revolution and am delighted to be on the indie path. I’m tellin’ ya, the freedom is exhilarating!
So, what makes me different than the scads of other romance writers? I think my romances offer a little “something extra”—whether it’s really interesting secondary characters with their own arching subplots, unique and detailed settings, or research that translates into unexpected facts sprinkled in. Whatever it is, my stories do seem to translate into something even first time romance readers enjoy! Nothing makes me happier than to hear from a reader or read a review by a reader who was surprised by how much the story touched her.
And, do realize that your reviews on Amazon are GOLDEN to indie authors, so do leave a sentence or two after you’ve read an ebook!
I hope you’ll stay in touch with me by email here: mail@janetwellington.com, or on Facebook at JanetWellingtonBooks — where every Friday is Pie Day, and you’ll read more about my sweet 90-years-young mom, sometimes about crocheting, and a lot of the time about cats (there are usually cats in my stories!). And you can sign up for my once-in-a-while newsletter at JanetWellingtonBooks, and get in on announcements and contests!
