Alabaster Bayou By Kerry D Redford
About Alabaster Bayou By Kerry D Redford:
“If death had a face it would be hers.”
Alabaster Bayou is the story of a violet eyed creole vixen named Celestine Clemence and is set in World War 11 era New Orleans. Celestine is the illegitimate child of state Senator Dylan Vaughn, who is a rich political playboy who uses people to get whatever he wants including Celestine’s Mother Mary Anne. After Mary Anne threatens to expose the Senator for his forbidden double life Dylan Vaughn kills Celestine’s Mother to rid himself of the problem. This in turn sets her off on a revenge seeking path.
After Celestine kills Dylan Vaughn she discovers that she has a passion for it and her purpose in life goes from seeking justice to killing for the satisfying thrill of it all. Celestine goes through emotional ups and downs as she dabbles in the dark arts and finally becomes the full-fledged killer she can no longer deny. This story is filled with an ongoing sense of cat and mouse games with her good side and dark side in a constant tug of war as well as dark secrets and forbidden passions. Alabaster Bayou gets up close and personal with an eloquent and very calculated serial killer who sees murder as a necessary art form. However when pieces of Celestine’s art begin to surface from the dark waters of Black Water Bayou and Lake Pontchartrain her whole morbidly twisted secret life threatens to destroy her.

A Great Summer read and a real A To Kill A Mockingbird story. Tobacco Sticks takes us back to the Southern town of Richmond in 1946. It is the story of a Senatorial campaign, the rise of the unions, and Burke Hartwell, a lawyer and civic minded man who must choose between two worlds. The war is ending and for Lee Hartwell and his family it bodes the end of something they won’t understand until it is too late.
” Explosive racial tension, betrayal and murder, difficult ethical and social decisions, first love and a dramatic denouemont in a sweaty Virginia courtroom are skillfully entwined in this haunting tale which has all the characteristics of a good summer read.” Starred Review Publishers Weekly
Book of the Month Club Selection
“The summer my brother came home from the war was so hot they had to repave the soft tar of Hermitage Street twice. I remember watching the crews, their white t-shirts glowing in the July night with the gravel smoke dancing white under a low moon. It was the last war summer and we received a telegram saying Lucas has been wounded. First we thought he had been shot in the leg, then it became the foot.”
Tobacco Sticks
“American Fiction is not dead, Hazelgrove has skillfully revived it with his second novel, Tobacco Sticks. Highly recommended. ”

I was born and brought up in Liverpool, England, but moved to Bristol after graduating as a librarian from Liverpool John Moores University in 1990. I married Keith Mitchell in 1993. I still go up to Liverpool regularly; twenty-four years on I remain homesick for my home city!
For anyone who’s wondering, Morait is my maiden name.
I always wanted to write for children from a very early age and discovered self-publishing in 2007 when I published my first book Goalden Girl (age 9-12), inspired for my love for football; I am a big Liverpool FC fan. In 2014 I published the sequel, Goalden Sky (age 12+), but in between I wrote Abbie’s Rival (9-12), Epiworld (12+; a time travel story inspired by my own personal experience with epilepsy) and Big Brother (12+).
My books are available in paperback worldwide, Kindle and Nook. I use Twitter and Facebook to promote my books as well as my website and blog.
My hobbies include football (if you see me on Twitter I tweet about Liverpool rather a lot!), writing, cross stitch, going to the cinema and travel.

Private Internship by Kitsy Clare
About Private Internship by Kitsy Clare:
Private Internship is a new adult romance all about artist Sienna and her new internship. Some reviewer praise follows this short summary:
Sugar’s not so sweet and secrets can be deadly … especially with matters of the heart
Sienna’s bestie, Harper warned her not to intern for famous bad boy artist, Casper Mason. After all, he just fired Harper who helped Sienna get the interview. But the moment Sienna sees Casper—or Caz—sweaty and practically shirtless and swinging from chains while he works on his sculpture, she’s hooked. He’s the richest, hottest artist in New York, and he lives in the fabulous Williamsburg Sugar Factory. But he’s also an incorrigible game-player, who seems to relish testing Sienna’s loyalty with a string of unsettling tests.
She knows she should get away fast. But by the time Sienna sneaks into his locked storage room and begins to unearth his dark and terrifying secret, she’s fallen way too hard for the handsome, charismatic Caz.

I am sensitive. I shudder to write that sentence because it is the trait I like the least about myself, but also the one that defines me the most. I feel everything. My children are similarly sensitive. When they face challenges, I share stories of things that happened to me and make up stories so they can see themselves in the characters I create. That is how Mabel Moon came to be. I wanted to write stories that are realistic and focus on the chances we take, even as children. In the first of the series, Mabel makes a friend but doesn’t know if she will enjoy playing with her friend’s friend. It is important for me to tell children that it doesn’t always work out. We don’t always love our friend’s friends. Still, we have choices and can take chances. Additional books in the series will cover Mabel’s triumphs and embarrassments in negotiating the rocky waters of childhood.
