Kristy K. James’ first goal in life was to work in law enforcement, until the night she called the police to check out a scary noise in her yard. Realizing that she might someday have to investigate scary noises in yards just as dark as hers if she continued on that path, she turned to her other favorite love…writing. Since then her days have been filled with being a mom and reluctant zookeeper (7 pets), creating stories, and looking for trouble in her kitchen.

Okay, so that was the official author bio, and it’s all true. Except the part about the pets. We lost one about a year and a half ago, 13 year old Shadow, and have recently added two more puppies, bringing the zoo total to 8.

My hobbies include watching pet rescue videos on YouTube, traveling around Michigan to find interesting places I’ve never been, and a new one that I didn’t really want. After finding out that I can’t have gluten (wheat) anymore, I started on a quest to replace favorite foods with options that won’t make it hard for me to breathe. Trying new products and tweaking recipes I find online, I’ve managed to do exactly that. For many things anyway.

You have to know I love to read, and I enjoy watching romantic movies, comedies, action/adventure (think Iron Man and Captain America), non-scary vampire flicks, and one zombie movie – the ‘cut’ version of World War Z. I made the mistake of choosing the uncut version on Netflix once. That was the day I learned there was a choice.

I’m not sure what else to say because I live a pretty normal life. Well, except for the fact that we have a few more pets than most people do. I just can’t bear the thought of shelter animals being put to sleep just because they don’t have a home.
