Michael Harrington is a political economist, public policy analyst, and author. He holds advanced degrees in political science, finance, and economics and his scholarship has garnered several national awards, including the American Political Science Association’s Harold D. Lasswell Prize for best research in policy studies. His research interests include trade policy; capital markets; the politics of finance; risk, uncertainty and social insurance; voting patterns in American politics; agent-based modeling techniques; and the economics of inequality. He has worked in the securities and venture capital industries as an investment portfolio manager and financial analyst. In more recent years he has taught political science as a lecturer at the University of California and worked as a research fellow and public policy analyst. He currently writes on economic policy and politics on the blog, Casino Capitalism and Crapshoot Politics.

Harrington has harbored a life-long fascination with the art, culture, and politics of the Italian Renaissance, and has lived and studied in Italy, near Florence. His enduring interest in the social movements and artistic creativity of this period led him to study the life stories of Girolamo Savonarola, Niccolò Machiavelli, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci. As a visiting scholar to the Bridwell Library at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, he conducted research with primary Renaissance materials for his dramatized history-fiction trilogy on Savonarola and Machiavelli. Together with her late husband Colin Postle, a pharmaceutical chemist, she continued her commitment to her nursing career as owner and manager of a high dependency private nursing home in Norfolk, England. Elizabeth and Colin created a homely and welcoming environment in a historic old rectory for their nineteen residents, who included many dementia sufferers. There were many tears when, after fifteen years of running the home, Elizabeth and Colin retired as they had created such a supportive and comforting haven for residents, families, and staff.

I don’t pretend to understand the world of high finance. In fact, I once closed my checking account when I realized that my balance, painstakingly calculated at my kitchen table, never once in an entire year had agreed with the balance on my bank statement. Obviously, one of us couldn’t add or subtract, and I (wrongly) assumed it was me.

Later, of course, I learned that my bank, with it’s miscellaneous fees and unexplained deductions, had been the source of my problems. I’ve had a love/hate relationship with banks ever since.

The same goes for my relationship with lawyers. They inhabit a world of their own, protect and defend each other, and are experts at sleight-of-hand and obfuscation. No wonder so many of them enter politics.

In “Bank of Crooks and Criminals”, Ken Rossignol has laid out, in plain English, the frightening tale of an honest man who was ambushed, lied to, cheated, and criminally victimized by a cabal of Southern Maryland lawyers, bankers, and political appointees. It is both a current story and a true story, told in Rossignol’s typical straight-shooting, unembellished style. I read “Bank of Crooks and Criminals” in one sitting, unable to put it down.

The dirty deeds of some prominent Southern Maryland bankers, lawyers, and politicians, are exposed here. Their dishonest and corrupt practices are blatantly obvious, in both the documents Rossignol provides and the story details he gives. Still, some of them are still in practice/office today.

The thing is, this book is an unfinished story. The ending hasn’t been written yet. When I finished the book, I wanted to immediately start writing letters and making phone calls, or doing anything that might help bring about justice in this case. I may still do this, but if there’s an honest attorney out there who reads this, then there’s an opportunity here to help a good man who needs your help to find the justice he deserves.

A man who devotes his life to being an honest businessman, only to have all the fruits of his hard labor stolen by thieves in business suits, deserves our help. Chuck Kimball is such a man.

Rossignol lays out the case for us. He names the guilty parties. He gives us the who, what, where, when, and how. All that’s required now is for one person -one HONEST person – to step forward and come to Chuck Kimball’s aid.

If you are that courageous person, I hope you’ll step up to the plate. Chuck Kimball needs you, but really, everyone who’s ever been the victim of the corrupt banker-lawyer-politician cesspool that seems to be taking over our country will thank you as well.

Author Bio:
Margaret Tanner is a multi-published award winning Australian author. She loves delving into the pages of history as she carries out research for her historical romance novels, and prides herself on being historically accurate. No book is too old or tattered for her to trawl through, no museum too dusty, or cemetery too overgrown. Many of her novels have been inspired by true events, with one being written around the hardships and triumphs of her pioneering ancestors in frontier Australia.

She won the 2007 and 2009 Author of the Year at AussieAuthors.com. A Rose In-No-Man’s Land won an RWA un-published manuscript award. Her novel Frontier Wife won the Best Historical Romance Novel at the 2010 Readers Favorite Award, and another novel, Wild Oats was a 2011 Finalist in the EPIC awards.
In 2012, an unpublished manuscript was short listed in English publisher, ChocLit’s, Find an Australian Star, competition.

Margaret is married with three grown up sons, and two gorgeous little granddaughters.
