I launched AwesomeGang around 2011 when I was a struggling author myself. I remember submitting my book to other promotion sites and getting rejected because I did not
have enough reviews. No reviews meant no promotion. No promotion meant no sales. No sales meant no reviews. It felt like a closed door.
So I decided to build something different.
I wanted a place where brand new authors could get a real shot. A place that did not require a pile of reviews just to be seen. A place that was affordable. A place that helped authors get those first sales and start building momentum.
That is why the featured
listing is $10. I also provide a place where you can get your book listed for free. It doesn't get as much juice as the Featured submission but for the author that has no budget at all it is a good way to get your book out there.
It is intentionally affordable because the goal was never to create another gatekeeper. The goal was to create opportunity.
