“Vickie, would you mind answering that?” Taylor asked, soldering gun already in hand and glasses in place to keep him from blinding himself.

“Sure,” she said, picking the receiver up from the cradle. “Who the hell has a landline these days?”

“We the hell do,” Taylor grumped. “Answer the phone.”

He could almost hear her eyes rolling as she pressed the receiver to the side of her head. “McFadden’s Mechs, how can I help you?”

It wasn’t a great name, but he wasn’t going to be complaining, turning to his work, but keeping an ear out for the conversation, or the one side of it that he could hear.

“What?” Vickie asked. “No, I’m not a secretary. Why, are you a janitor? I mean, yeah, all janitors are men, right, so all men must be janitors, are you kidding me right now?”

Taylor raised an eyebrow. Maybe work could wait. He wanted to hear what Vickie had to say to whomever was calling her.

“Yes, it was a sexist question, thanks for asking,” Vickie replied. “Now, do you want to try again? Hi, this is Vickie from McFadden’s Mechs, how can I help you not be a sexist a-hole this afternoon?”

Well, that was one way to go about it.

Taylor could hear the man on the other line laughing, which was better than them getting offended and hanging up, sure, but Taylor pushed himself up from where he was working and walking over to where she was still on the phone.

Special Agent Niki Banks has called in a favor, and now Taylor has a young hacker with an attitude as an employee. Along with new monsters to kill, a business to get off the ground, a relationship with an annoying FBI Handler to … deal with Taylor is becoming a surrogate male figure for a role he didn’t want.

But may be the best man for the job.

In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I’ve been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.

Reform the Kakistocracy describes how citizens can control a federal government that is ruled by the least able or least principled citizens. Such rule is termed “kakistocracy.”

Part I sets out the many actions of our federal government that place the nation at risk. It discusses how the kakistocracy has transformed our government from one of limited powers to one of almost unlimited power by diminishing the constitutional checks and balances essential for citizens to manage their government.

Specifically, Congress delegated its legislative power to the executive branch which is now the primary lawmaker through regulations and Executive Orders. Moreover, the courts have also become super-legislatures as they find rights and privileges never envisioned by the Constitution.

Unfortunately, due to political polarization, Congress is unable, as an institution, to reclaim its legislative powers, thus becoming an observer of the lawmaking process.

Part II sets forth a series of governance principles as guides for restructuring government to focus on citizens not politics.
Parts III and IV set forth novel but doable proposals for making government work: reallocating powers between federal; state and local to make government closer to citizens; establishing priority functions; selling off unused assets to reduce debt; reducing the complexity of laws and regulations; devolving federal powers to the states for greater efficiency of operation and restructuring the income tax code to eliminate complexity, unfairness and tax-avoidance schemes while raising sufficient revenue, at the lowest tax rates, to pay for programs needed by citizens.

Part V reminds us that the Constitution sets forth a clear and legal path for revolution – voting which allows us to replace the entire government in a short period of time.

I was born in 1967 in Israel. I’m happily married with 4 great children.

In my youth I trained and competed in various martial art styles – mainly full contact karate, and also boxing and Muay-Thai. Following my military service (in Israel we must serve several years), I became a martial arts coach and advanced to a Black Belt Dan 3 rank. But I did not think I would be a writer, nor did I even imagine that one day I would incorporate my martial arts expertise into my books.

I graduated from Tel Aviv University with bachelor’s degrees in law and Economics and MBA, started working as a lawyer and thought this would be my direction in life.

But I had an idea to take, what was until then a must-read&use book in every home, a Yellow Pages book, and display it visually on maps on the Internet. So in 1998, I became a co-founder of a startup company, and together we invented a method to send maps online and present layers of information on them, which we called WhiteMaps. The commercial reality has not yet been ripe for the implementation of our invention, but luckily we have registered patents in the U.S. and Israel that we could sell a few years later for a significant amount.

And then, in 2008, I came across an article about the Judean Desert scrolls and I was amazed to understand that I didn’t know the truth about Judaism in the period of pre-Christianity. This discovery led me to an in-depth study of the period, which evolved into the understanding of the Maccabees Rebellion and the creation of the Hasmonean kingdom that dominated the land of Israel for a hundred years, and later on the performance of Christianity on the one hand and rabbinical Judaism on the other.

I also understood that the majority of the public, Jews and certainly not Jews, do not know the true story of the Maccabees Rebellion, which is an extraordinary heroic story, but also the outcome of events in the international arena, some of which even similar to reality today (the history repeats itself?!) and that the whole story can contribute to a better understanding of the world today.

As a keen fan of historical novels and films based on historical novels, it was clear to me that it was the right way to tell and spread the story. But from here to writing a historical novel – the distance is huge. I have decided then to embark on a journey of personal development in which I have learned to write as a writer and not as an attorney. I was assisted by a number of first-class literary editors; I struggled, invested time and money, without compromise, in order to achieve a result of a high-quality historical novel.

The result was a historical novel in one volume published in 2014 in Hebrew, accompanied by YouTube videos. Readers ‘ comments and critics were positive but it was clear to me that my task would not be completed until the book will be translated into other languages, so many readers from all over the world can read, enjoy and learn. Again I went on a literary journey to English translation, assisted by the best professionals, in which the book was almost written and edited entirely. And so, in 2019, the story was published as a two-volume series in English and in 2020 as a single volume in Russian, while the copyright was sold to produce a series and feature film.

Today I’m back to my profession as a lawyer. In between, I composed “The Experiment,” a short futuristic novel that illustrates the slippery slope to the future, and stimulates thinking about our ability to influence our destiny. And yes, I’m also writing the next and third volume of the Lions of Judea series.
