UK epic fantasy author Ross C. Hughes is the writer of the Convent series, as well as a collection of short stories set in the same world, available for free to anyone who signs up to his mailing list at www.rosshughes.biz.
Graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2012 with a BA in Ancient History, he immediately began working at his family’s plant nursery in Northampton and continued the novel he had begun in his last year of university.
That one novel became six; the Convent series.

Jim Gulledge was shaped by his large, Southern extended family and was taught at an early age never to let facts get in the way of a good story. Much of Jim’s own story has been lived out in the small village of Misenheimer in North Carolina. As a young man, Jim chose to attend Pfeiffer College where he met his wife, Linda. He has now worked there for the past thirty five years currently serving as the Director of Academic Support Services and Assistant Professor of Developmental Studies. The passions of his academic life are helping young people in their life journeys and teaching a course every other year on the works of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. Jim was prepared for his career by earning a B.A. in Christian Education from what is now Pfeiffer University, an M.A. in English from Clemson University, and a DMin. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts.In his spare time he explores the nearby Uwharrie Mountains with his dog, Shasta; serves as a guardian ad litem for abused and neglected children in his community; and continues in his futile attempts to master the ukulele.

I arrived in this world in the Seventies in the controversial geographical area of Southeastern Europe where, due to political, economic, historical, cultural, and geographical considerations and points of view of the observer, the boundaries of the region can vary greatly and are, to date, widely disputed.

I, who value my privacy, believes that a person, if s/he is to be judged, should be done so after all aspects of her/his personality and circumstances that shaped her/his life are taken into consideration.

We all contribute, in one way or another, to the way we live on this blue planet of ours, which is, on the grand scale of the universe, just another star amongst all the others.
I believe that only by looking closely, observing our own personal worlds, is what makes us somehow unique.

For around thirty years or so, I sporadically wrote all sorts of literal work mostly for my own pleasure of expression. What I have not written, my mind has composed, with some of those thoughts still remaining deep down in my subconscious. Only recently have I decided to share my latest work with the general public. This fact, like many other observations one is to perceive, might be captivating (or not), depending on the reader’s point of view.
