The Perils of Autumn by Rusty Blackwood

The Perils of Autumn by Rusty Blackwood

From the author of the riveting romantic fiction drama, Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary, and the celebrated, 5-star-award-winning romantic fiction drama, Willow’s Walk, comes the intense romantic drama, The Perils of Autumn.

This page turner, set primarily in the early 1970’s, centers on a young Kentucky woman, Autumn Leeves, born in 1946 to Abigail Leeves, an unwed mother who struggles to make ends meet. By 1970,Autumn graduates nursing school and is sent on assignment by the local hospital to care for the terminally-ill wife of middle-aged English equestrian master, Cyril Landon, owner of Landon Lawns Stables, a most successful thoroughbred racing stable located just outside Lexington, Kentucky in a posh community known as The Meadows.

Duff Taylor, world renown jockey who is tops in his field, lives full-time above the tack room at Landon Lawns and enjoys the many benefits it brings, but he also has a dark secret surrounding an unsolved racing incident from his past that he will go to any length to protect.

Autumn arrives to Landon Manor in time to be thrown into the fray, and finds herself caught in the ongoing disruption that ensues.

Author Bio:
Top ranking romantic fiction author Rusty Blackwood believes the flair for fantasy is anything the mind wishes it to be, and she is a master at this. Within her expressive mind is found an endless array of romance, passion, textures and colors to sweep the reader to exotic, faraway places where anything is possible, proving that her words really do leave you breathless.

Canadian born Blackwood, who chose her plume de nom by combining both the color of her russet hair with her estranged husbands’ great, great Scottish grandmother’s maiden name, grew up on her paternal grandfather’s farm in southwestern Ontario, Canada where she developed her love of writing while still in grade school, entering numerous competitions and writing exhibitions throughout her area, and attributes her love of writing to her late father James, and to the late Gladys Carroll, her elementary teacher. Although unprofessionally trained in the field, Rusty has always had an affinity for the written word, a gift to express it, and has demonstrated this talent many times since becoming a serious writer in 2001.

Miss Blackwood is a bronze medalist winner in the 2006 Annual International Library of Poetry, sponsored through PoetryPoem.com, for her 2005 poem, Desire.

She has written an eclectic array of contemporary and traditional poetry, publishing her first collection in October of 2009 titled, “Feelings: A Rhythmic Journey in Thought,” which was later re-released in a second collection with additional content in 2011 under the title, “Impressions: A Poetic Rhythm in Emotion”. Feelings was followed in April of 2010 by a collection of assorted short stories for children, as well as the young at heart, titled, “Young Minds,” which was later re-released as a second collection with additional content in 2012 under the title, “Through the Eyes of Innocence.”

In March of 2012 Rusty released the short-story comedy, “The Misadventures of Derwood Tugbottom.”

Following a previously hard fought, misguided, and misleading publishing road into the competitive world of main-stream fiction with her first two-part romantic drama, ‘Passion in Paris’ – Connections to the Past and Directions of the Heart respectively – Rusty was finally given the chance to accomplish what she had originally set out to do, and this exciting reprieve can be found within the pages of her grand scale, 4-star, heart-touching romantic drama, “Passions In Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary,” now available in paperback and Kindle on Amazon.

‘Passions in Paris’ is followed by the official release of the riveting 5-star award-winning romantic fiction drama, ‘Willow’s Walk.’ This page turner was given a 5 star rating by Readers’ Favorite Books while still in pre-release, so be sure to check it out in Paperback & Kindle at Amazon.

In July 2017, Miss Blackwood released her second installment in the Derwood comedy series, titled, “Derwood Returns”. In this hysterical follow-up to The Misadventures of Derwood Tugbottom, the bubbling and pretentious Englishman, known for his staunch outlook and demanding ways, decides to return to the picturesque village of Vinehaven on the Lake, where he takes up residence in the swinging Sunset Villa Retirement center, located directly across the road from the infamous Anchors Away, of which he hastily departed two years earlier. Now he is back, with a hard-learned lesson beneath his belt, and hopes of finding the life that escaped him on his initial try.

Rusty released the third installment of the Derwood Tugbottom comedy series, titled, “Derwood Goes Caribbean,” on January 27, 2019.
Travel with Derwood, and his best friend, Robbie, as they board The Travelling Minstrel on a swinging single’s cruise to the Caribbean.
Christmas 2014 is fast approaching and an intrepid Derwood talks Robert into taking a single’s cruise to the Caribbean with him, which sends them on another eccentric adventure. Will they find what they hope to aboard ship? Will happiness present itself in one the ports of call, or will it avoid them altogether?
Find out, in this third Derwood adventure, certain to make you laugh as you cruise right along with him.
Do watch for the fourth installment in the ongoing series, “Derwood Comes Home”, expected in 2020.

Rusty’s third novel, “The Perils of Autumn,” is a 5-star award-winning romantic fiction drama set in the early 1970’s at Landon Lawns Stables, a fictional thoroughbred racing stable in the posh community known as The Meadows located just outside Lexington Kentucky. This enthralling story centers around heroine Autumn Leeves, a twenty-four-year-old newly graduated RN, who is sent on assignment to Landon Lawns to care for the terminally ill wife of English equestrian master, Cyril Landon. However, once there, Autumn encounters a world filled with intrigue, wonderment, and a well kept secret. The Perils of Autumn was released on January 17, 2019 and is available in paperback, hardback, and Kindle editions at all Amazons, and in Kobo at Chapters. Paperback, and Hardback editions may also be ordered at all Chapters, Coles and Indigo.

The Perils of Autumn is now a 2019 International Book Awards FINALIST in ROMANCE at both the International Book Awards, and the American Fest Best Book Awards.

Rusty is currently writing the follow-up novel to the 5-star awarded, The Perils of Autumn, titled, “Return to Autumn,” and is expected to release in late 2020.

Rusty is also a Top Female Author Nominee for 2017, 2018, and 2019 presented by The Author’s Show.com

The 5’1″(154.94 cm) spunky redhead is often asked how much of herself is found in her heroines, and she has been noted to say a fair amount, adding that most writers inspiration comes from many different aspects of life experience and reaping from them all that one can to use to one’s best advantage, so in that respect she would have to say that many sides, aspects, and flavors of her heroines derive from her own personality and life.

Rusty has always loved the Arts in their many unique forms and this is demonstrated in the two Interior Decorating and Design diplomas she holds, as well as her many years spent on the south-western Ontario stage performing with her family’s country music band, The Midnight Ramblers, and the country – rock – blues band, MIRAGE respectively as an accomplished vocalist, bassist, and rhythm guitarist.

Rusty firmly believes in going after what she wants, doing whatever is required to make it happen, and turning a deaf ear to anyone who says it cannot be done. She has faced many challenges throughout her life, emerging more determined with each, but make no mistake about her methods, for she is a firm believer in Karma and the adage that whatever you put out in life revisits you, so be sure your intentions are proper.

Rusty now resides in the cultural city of St. Catharines, Ontario and when not at her keyboard, enjoys art, music, nature, gardening, horses, and spending quality time with family, friends, and her loyal cat, Tipper. She cordially invites you to browse her official website: https://www.rusty-blackwood.com, check out her Journal/Blog where you will find the latest news, and upcoming events, and enjoy her informative and interesting Video page, where you can enjoy her audio/video interviews and Official Theatrical Trailers for her novels. O Beloved: Being, Becoming and Beyond by Shunya Pragya

O Beloved: Being, Becoming and Beyond by Shunya Pragya

In today’s hyperconnected world, human consciousness remains hijacked by the made-up frameworks—social, commercial, political, and religious. As a result, our living experience is driven, designed, and defined by a cosmetic self, always busy in responding to the demands of this world culture. In this way, the entire journey of life shrinks into a resume of material achievements at the cost of bypassing the existential experiences which are deeply meaningful and life-enriching. Mostly, the efforts to look beyond the web of routine life are academic, abstract, and off the real ground. Therefore, ordinarily, we deprioritize exploring our existential connection, thinking that either they are non-valuable or non-achievable. Ultimately, looking inward to realize our existential consciousness becomes a luxury of philosophers or monks; and does not get appreciation in the mainstream, among masses.

His self-defined goal is to reset human consciousness at the basic existential level where the nature of experience and experiencer is directly realized, in a natural way. Consequently, we live deeply connected with existence while celebrating our human incarnation.

A.D. Hay is a passionate bibliophile and can usually be found reading a book, and that book will most likely be a thriller. Amelia’s love of reading stems back to when her mother used to bribe her as a small child, with a little golden book for good behaviour during grocery shopping.

At the age of eight, she wrote her first play. She was super secretive about the script and wrote it out by hand in an HB pencil and gave each actor lines to memorise as opposed to a whole script. So, what happened, you ask? Let’s just say she was a little bossy, okay, maybe, very bossy, and had difficulties managing the talent.

Thus, an obsession began. Yes, stop the presses another writer has been obsessed with reading and writing since childhood.

Fast-Forward thirty years, Amelia is the author of the mystery novella, Missing which is the first book in the James Lalonde Thriller Series. The next book, in the series, will be published at the end of 2020.

When not absorbed in a gripping page-turner or writing her James Lalonde series, Amelia loves to travel around Europe, drink tea, rosé, and eat pizza. She is obsessed with journalism, art history, and is a closet religious thriller fan. Amelia was born in Brisbane, Australia and spent the last nine years living in London, where she lives with her husband, Roland.

25 SILVER RULES OF HEALTH by Rafayel Serents

About 25 SILVER RULES OF HEALTH by Rafayel Serents

Health both dies and lives at the same time in our subconscious. Health is the sum of our thoughts. Why do we get sick both mentally and physically? There is a need to open the brackets here. We want to change our minds every day, but we wake up with the same tasks, we want our goals to be fulfilled, but we like to interact with people with the same wordstock and look at things from the same angle. Finally, what do we want and why do our lives pass the success by? The main reason is our egoism, the daily “justification” of ourselves … Is there anyone in the world who does not want to live right? There is no, of course. But many people in the world want to know their inner world. And some want to know the world first and they slip. They may laugh and say that no one knows me better than me. This is a misfortune, a short-sightedness of great misery. There are no unsolvable problems, there are unsolvable questions because we feed our consciousness with words of denial. This book is a dictionary that contains simple words to reach success, where the human soul will find the necessary word surely or words and they will accompany him throughout his lives. The book affirms the infinite power within a man, and theories for the realization of the same power, opens up many brackets, and the word is spiced with a narration that is close to a man’s soul. Let us first understand what does a man want? This book suggests where the territory for new ways to live is located. The book speaks of preliminary reason, speaks of destiny, life cannot be placed into the mold of destiny, to consider the way of life drawn from above. The book, with its 25 subtitles and 43,000 words, draws a man close to the “mirror” in which he will find his true self, that is both stubborn and obedient. The book provides the key to the harmony of the inner contradictions in the human being.

Author Bio:
My name is Leon Edwards and I was born on Friday 24th January 1975 at Southampton General Hospital in Hampshire, UK.
I grew up in a small town called Romsey, twenty minutes from Southampton where Titanic left for New York in Hampshire.
My current full time occupation is an Accountant specialising in tax.
My dream now is to be able to become a full time author as I have fell in love with writing a story. However, it was not something I thought of doing when growing up and choosing a sensible job.
When I was a child, I dreamt of becoming an actor between the age of five and twelve but never pursued it due to being afraid of failure and living in an unknown town.
Without realising, I have been mentally writing books in my head ever since I was five years old up to today. My story ideas came from black and white cowboy television shows and eventually the ‘Star Wars’ saga.
My stories went from grown up children stories to adult themes as I went through life having my own experiences.
I have watched tonnes of movies and told myself I can write a better ending or write a better plot. I even had stories in my head for years and eventually unfold on the silver screen. Not realising that I could have wrote that film and made some money.
When I was in Junior school, my class was asked to write a short story and read it out in class. Also write a couple of them.
I remember writing a story about a petrol station exploding and how it spread in a small town. I remember being told by my teacher that it was a good read and never thought about it as a career.
When I was at secondary school (high school) I had dreams of becoming a stockbroker, lawyer or barrister after watching television series based on them. By the time I finished school, I come to the conclusion that I would not have the grades to pursue those kinds of roles.
I made a decision to want to become a chef and travel the world. End up working on a superyacht, cooking for a very wealthy person on their boat. But after one year of studying catering I realised it was not for me.
I was advised by my catering lecturer to go into engineering as I was good with numbers. I ended up going to the library and really thinking what I want to do based on me and not outside influencers. Then where ever my chips may lay, that is where I will end up.
So I found accountancy and the more I read about the work involved, the more I fell in love with it. I know it is sad, falling in love with numbers. But that is what I wanted to do.
While studying at university and eventually getting a job in a chemical company, I worked as an accountant.
Even still I kept on dreaming about making up stories and about the main character. My main themes were action and adventure, spying, love stories and murder. I would flick between the four inside my head. I found that when I was lonely or by myself a lot, my dreaming up stories was a comfort for me.
When I turned forty in 2015, I started thinking about what I have not achieved that I dreamt of as a child. Of course acting came to the forefront of my mind. By this time, I was married a year with no children. So I researched acting schools in London and eventually went to a taster session thinking this is my next pet project. After one session, I was sure I would pursue this in parallel to working as an accountant. Eventually giving up accountancy in the long run.
But I ended up reflecting on what it will entail and risking not ever seeing my wife due to two job commitments. I also thought about future kids and never seeing them and having regrets.
So knocked it on the head by September 2015. It was a blow for me as I dreamt about it ever since I was five. My wife was very supportive.
Then in November/ December of 2015, I suddenly had an epiphany. Why don’t I start putting my mental thoughts of all my stories I have stored up over the past thirty five years onto paper. At first I thought it was just a rebound on my sad life of not becoming an actor. But as I mulled over it during Christmas and New Years night, I decided to go for it.
By March time, I started mulling over which of my twenty or so stories I want to begin. I did not want to be one of those people who sit in a bar and say I could have or I have this great idea or I am still achieving my goal. I did not want to be at deaths door and I am asked what I did with my life, to only say I was going to. My philosophy in life is never ever have a regret when your asked what you did with your life. If you truly want something then go for it. Because it is harder to live with a regret than think you did the best you could.
So to give me the strength to follow through with completing my first book, I chose to write a novel based on a female character. My first book I wrote was ‘Jane Knight Rogue Officer’ that I started by April 2016.
I had to pause writing in April 2017 when my first unborn child was expecting in June 2017. My wife waters broke early and she was my priority. We were also moving at the same time which had to be put on hold.
When our first children safely entered into the world and we finally moved, I went back to writing by September 2017. By December 2017 I was scared I would not complete it as I had so much to write about the character and the plot. I did not want to get it wrong in regards to how I wanted to tell the story. I started getting agitated by February 2018 when I thought I would never finish it.
But by end of March 2018, I had a final draft and my next challenge was publishing the manuscript. After a few weeks of realising that traditional publishing is impossible when fighting against celebrity books, I finally found a way of self publishing.
Now, I have six books written with about ten more stories in my head to put down on electronic ebook. I know I will never stop writing when I have a great story in my head that I want to get out.

I currently reside in Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire with my wife and two children.

My books so far are Jane Knight Rogue Officer, Blind Love, Eternity Wing And A Pray, Jane Knight Fair Game, To The Stars and Ponta Delgada A Good Place To Die.
I cover most genres except horror and paranormal as my ideas do not stretch that far. If I ever do have an idea, I will write it.
My current projects are a cold murder case and a woman boxer.

His Many Desires

About His Many Desires

I don’t fit into the world around me.
My brother and father are far more the billionaire type.
Art is what wakes me up. Expressing my soul through a paintbrush.
That and the beautiful woman that stole my heart years ago.
But she belongs to their world. An executive for the accounting firm my family runs.
And we live clear across the country from one another, but that doesn’t stop the way I feel.
Every time I see her, I want to change everything about myself until she takes notice.
Funnily enough, she doesn’t want me to change a damn thing.
She says that now, but when she finds out all that I desire of her, with her, she might not be so compliant.
Or maybe that’s what she’s been waiting on this whole time.
