My own personal note: Since fate played a major role in my life early on, I thought I would explore how a married woman might discover an unexpected truth after the fact, decades later, when she suddenly realizes that fate has played and might be still playing a role in her life. She claims she had no clue.

My own author’s note: I believe the subtle influences on one’s thought – sight, sound, smell, and the imagery in expressed words (which have always intrigued this wordsmith) are everywhere. What is important is to recognize them for what they are, because they can be used as a means to gently sway one’s focus, divert one’s attention, mislead, or cleverly distract.
Pay attention. Listen and look carefully. Interpretation is in the eye of each beholder, regardless of the circumstances. In this story, sometimes influences are hidden in plain sight, while others are embedded in semantics and behavior. The key is to recognize these influences for what they are when fate comes walking in.
Even then, the truth might never reveal itself.
But then again, maybe it will.
