I grew up in Topeka, Kansas. Throughout my childhood I loved stories of heroic warriors and adventurers, be they from history or literature. Seeking adventures of my own, I volunteered as an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps. Through Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, along with a WestPac, I managed to see a big chunk of the world. After the Marines, I earned a BA in Literature and a MA in History. This led to me working jobs that ranged from a bouncer at a night club, a deckhand on a boat, and a tour guide at Taliesin West (Scottsdale, Arizona). Eventually, I decided to get to get a MA in Education and go into teaching. This turned out to be one of my best decisions for it led to me meeting my future wife. I taught high school history for over a decade before I published my first novel.

History is a great collection of stories. I’m most fascinated by learning what characteristics and actions have led people, nations, and cultures to greatness; or, to their decline. I try to express those lessons from history into my fictional writing today.

Lucinda Davis was born and raised in Michigan. She published her book Goose Island in 2018. Goose Island is the first book she has written for the adult community. Davis is also the author of a children's book she wrote in 2014, "The Thought That Wanted To Be A Thing". She was a singer/songwriter that was offered a promising career with Universal Records. Davis turned down the offer with the record company since she was a single mother and taking care of her elderly parents. She grew up entertaining on stage at a young age. She sang a variety of songs and played her alto saxophone in the family band "The Woodsmen Band". The family lived in the woods, but her father and brother were both named Woody. This is how they came up with the name of the band. The band performed all over the state of Michigan before splitting up in the mid 80's.
Davis recently shifted her career to writing books. She is currently writing the next Goose Island book and also working on some more children's stories. She enjoys traveling, painting, and drawing along with many other enriching hobbies.
