Awake Ethics
Do you have the mindset and techniques you need to succeed in a modern business environment? Especially in the complex world of commerce and business, it’s challenging to make genuine connections with others and truly know the impacts of our actions. We often ask ourselves: How can I act ethically in a given situation despite norms, competition, and pressure?
Awake Ethics illustrates how ten ethical principles, when put into practice with individual and team exercises, enable you to make human-centered progress at work and build meaningful connections with others. Whether interpersonal conflict, miscommunication, ignorance, harm to the environment, or lack of personal health and purpose, we all crave more alignment and genuine connection. Through the Awake Ethics stories and exercises, you will learn how to see the universal impacts of your actions and discern how to better align your actions with your core intentions for both peace and progress.
A leader’s actions must align with his or his core intentions in order to inspire a team and make meaningful impact. Without an understanding of and focus on ethics, teams and organizations become stagnant environments of animosity that often fall apart prematurely and have negative effects on individuals and the world at large. Building a career, a team, or an organization without an understanding and appreciation for ethics is like building a skyscraper on a foundation of sand.
The Awake Ethics system is a method for working through limits and shifting your mindset in order to align your actions with your core intentions. Through the stories from the field, prompts, and exercises, learn to cultivate a truly ethical mindset that will set you apart and free you from business regimen and “should’s” in order to find true purpose and connection. This Awake Ethics system is based on an ancient system of philosophy, the Yamas and Niyamas. Interpreted for modern leaders, this system is an integrated approach to leadership, personal growth, and professional development.
This guidebook is Hilary Jane Grosskopf’s second interactive guidebook for modern leaders. Whether used at work or in life, these practical ethical principles and creative exercises have the power to transform your career, your life, and your relationships with others and yourself. Learn the language and prepare to lead by example to build a modern tribe of ethical leaders.

Consider Islam by Kenny Bomer
About Consider Islam by Kenny Bomer
Both factual evidence and erroneous information are more readily available in today’s world than ever before in history. Many people have allowed the use of propaganda and thirty-second soundbites to mold their views about Islam and Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessings upon him) without their doing any form of legitimate study or research for themselves.
Author Kenny Bomer (Mujahid Islam) addresses this situation head-on in detailed chapters which shed light on the use of propaganda to attack various groups throughout history. Bomer calls the reader’s attention to those tactics, which have been studied and perfected, to tarnish people’s views of Islam. Bomer addresses misconceptions in detail, asking the reader to consider what Islam is, while rejecting what Islam is not.

To Kill A Warlock
I’m a fairy. But not the type to frolic in gardens.
I’m a Regulator—a law-enforcement agent who monitors the creatures of the Netherworld to keep them from wreaking havoc in the mortal world.
When a dark-arts warlock is murdered and I was the last person to see him alive, I’ve got two choices. Either figure out whodunnit before I’m deported back to the Netherworld, or before I become the next victim.
So, yeah, it’s really more like I’ve got one choice.
Enter Knight Vander, a cocky investigator sent from the Netherworld to work the case with me. Knight is what’s called a Loki and he’s the first of his kind I’ve ever come across. He was created by Hades, in Hades’ own image and can I just say that Hades must have been pretty damn hot…
Yeah, Knight is the sexiest guy I’ve ever seen but he’s also bossy, demanding, and way too convinced of his own self-importance. So, I’m not exactly thrilled to have him as my partner.
As the body count increases, I find myself having to keep a sex-crazed, sadistic demon in check all the while fending off the advances of a super powerful vampire, Bram. And dealing with Knight isn’t exactly a walk in the park.
Sometimes working law enforcement for the Netherworld is a real…

Author Bio:
Brian Stephen Alexander has been writing stories for most of his life, the vast majority being in the genre’s meant to give readers the shivers and maybe an odd nightmare or two.
‘I was a huge fan of horror movies as a boy and Friday fright nights in front of the fire watching Vincent Price, Boris Karloff and the like, sparked a passion for the macabre and supernatural that has remained with me ever since. Indeed, my first ever story was titled: Frankenstein’s monster’s twin, penned as an eight-year-old and I am happy to say I still have the small book it was written in, designer cover and all.’
Brian’s early influences were such luminaries of the genre as Dennis Wheatley, Ray Bradbury and HP Lovecraft, who made horror writing an art form in the first half of the twentieth century. Whilst this was a fine literary introduction to the craft it was not until Brian hit his teens and came across the master storyteller Stephen King that his imagination went into overdrive.
‘Stephen King changed the whole landscape of popular fiction because he proved that the story was the most important factor in a novel, with or without fancy prose. I consider myself more of a fireside storyteller than a literary genius, but I leave others to decide whether my stories are worth a read.’
Despite penning a full-length novel in his twenties and countless short stories and novella’s, publication was a distant dream back in those days. He, therefore, shelved his writing ambitions to build a career in finance, although occasionally dabbling in his first love during that time, producing a second unpublished novel in the noughties.
That novel was re-written and became Brian’s first published eBook on Amazon, with the new age of easy self-publishing inspiring Brian to go back to his writing, knowing he now had the opportunity to actually reach an audience.
‘My first ambition is to entertain people with stories that will intrigue, surprise and at times, hopefully, scare…’

Two Dads and Three Girls by Nick (Yu) He
About Two Dads and Three Girls by Nick (Yu) He
One hundred percent made in China, Nick (Yu) grew up in an environment where being gay was not an option. The expectation from his parents and pressure from the society molded him into the “best student” and “best employee.” He made his family proud. But deep inside, he knew that something was missing, and he was different.
In this memoir, Nick (Yu) takes readers on his journey from growing up as a confused “straight” boy from China to today having a lovely husband and three girls through surrogacy. He invites readers to the experiences that he would rather have forgotten – from being sexually harassed by his desk-mate in middle school, through depression and a one-night stand in college, to losing a baby during pregnancy.
With ultimate honesty and absolute vulnerability, Nick shares the happiness and sadness on the journey to come out to himself, his parents and friends; learn about gay culture in America, cherish his Chinese heritage, find his first love, and create a family through surrogacy and the help of many amazing people.
Two Dads and Three Girls is a celebration of courage and love. It challenges each of us to dig deep into our soul to find what matters most to us, gain courage through the stories, and live our lives in truth.
