Author Bio:
Greg Koren graduated from Towson University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in English and a concentration in writing. That same year, he began working as a newspaper reporter and columnist in Maryland, first as Associate Editor of the weekly East Baltimore Guide, then, in 1993, as Senior Features Writer for the daily Carroll County Times. During his fifteen-year career, he won more than a dozen awards for his writing, among them the Maryland State Teachers Association’s School Bell Award for excellence in education reporting, the Associated Press’ Mark Twain Award for outstanding features writing, and six awards, including three first-place, from the MDDC Press Association for feature and column writing.
His one-act play, An Arrangement of Convenience, about the difficult subject of AIDS, won the Maryland Playwrights Festival, and in 1989 was produced by the Vagabond Theater in Baltimore to rave reviews.
In 1998, Greg and his wife traded places, and he became the at-home parent. A year later, while writing a weekly column for the Carroll County Times on his experiences as an at-home dad, he decided to homeschool his two kids, making him one of only three homeschooling fathers in Baltimore County.
Greg always loved reading aloud to Max and Mara, and those homeschooling years introduced him to the enchanting world of children’s fiction. He was immediately taken with the powerful storytelling being written for middle school-grade readers and decided he wanted to try his hand at it. His first MG novel, Do Over, was published in 2016. The Memory Trap is his second.
Matchmaking Beyond the Veil
About Matchmaking Beyond the Veil
Emery Belmont is a snarky realist who likes his life ordinary. Like any skeptic, he’s content using mundane explanations to write off signs of paranormal activity. That’s no longer an option when the spirit haunting his house wrecks his new kitchen, forcing Emery to face the supernatural truth. Desperate for a new handyman, he unknowingly hires his hot ex-rival from high school to fix it. Paxton Santos, Emery’s former lacrosse team captain, followed in his father’s footsteps to take over the family business. Annoyingly, Emery requires his talented hands more than he needs to keep Paxton out of his life. However, getting Paxton to leave after the repairs may prove difficult with the meddlesome ghost taking a shine to him, which Paxton seems to take in his grating, good-natured stride, remaining irritatingly unruffled by numerous weird occurrences.
Emery is bombarded by paranormal hijinks, keeping Paxton at arm’s length, and solving an inescapable mystery. There’s nothing Emery hates more than an unfinished puzzle. In his determination to solve this one, Emery reluctantly opens himself up to new possibilities all while trying to remain firmly rooted in life the way he prefers it—orderly, logically explainable, and, above all else, ghost-free.
Join Emery and Paxton as they face off with a spirit that has no limits to how far it will go to push them together, enduring locked doors, faulty plumbing, and sharing a bed. Together they are determined to navigate their way out of this mess using any means necessary to send the ghost packing. Will they make it out of the traps awaiting them before their pesky tormenter gets any other ideas to make things worse and further blur the line between them?
Matchmaking Beyond the Veil is a 100k slow burn MM romance tale of rivals to friends to lovers. Featuring a meddling ghost playing at matchmaker, forced proximity, bed sharing, ghost tours that totally aren’t dates, and tongue-in-cheek humor. This story ends on a HFN ending with a soft cliffhanger. Emery and Paxton’s story will continue in Telltale Ghosts Book 2. This book contains denial, two men experimenting with sex magic, fighting what the heart wants, and steamy explicit sexual scenes and colorful language intended for adults 18 and older.

Author Bio:
Mara Townsend is a bisexual indie author of LGBTQ+ romances. She loves to explore intimate relationship development of the feels-inducing variety to invoke the eternal just kiss plea from the reader, as well as crafting strong platonic friendships with heaps of heart and soul. Her stories showcase diverse representation, love stories with realistic emotions—never mindless fluff, a healthy dose of humor, and a side helping of her favorite tropes.
She hangs out in fan communities online and learned how to write the kind of stories that she’s passionate about through experimental character-driven fiction based in her favorite worlds. When not writing, she can be found soaking up sunshine at the beach, traveling the world to fill in her passport, perpetually collecting plants, and reading as many fake-dating romance books as she can find.
Akela
Meet Akela, a neurotic green sea turtle who lived on the shores of Hawaii. As peaceful as that may sound, he never had an easy life. His mother abandoned him when he was just a little hatchling and pesky gulls consistently tried to make him an afternoon snack. Filled with fear, he never left the beach to explore the world around him. This lack of adventure simply stunted his growth.
Now, there is a silver lining here; Akela met Kalea. It’s impossible to describe her – in his eyes, she was absolute perfection. And after years of vying for her affection, the two fell in love, got married, and lived happily ever after… for a while. The horrid events of Pearl Harbor separated the two of them one fateful morning while a United States marine research team thought it would be a good idea to take sea life back to the mainland and study radiation effects. Akela was captured and taken to a remote laboratory where experiment after experiment was conducted. With the help of Earl the daring Alligator, he escaped. Akela then had to face his biggest challenge yet – the journey home to return to his beloved Kalea.
And so I proudly present to you, Akela’s harrowing adventure to get back to Hawaii. A private and soft spoken being – this is his true story, accounted in his own words. I know you must be thinking that I’m crazy and that animals can’t talk. Well you are wrong! I’ve met him on several occasions now and he’s asked me to share his story out into the world. And I’m more than happy to do so because I think it’s a shame so few people know about his fascinating life.
He worked as a close friend and advisor for many presidents such as FDR and JFK. He hobnobbed with celebrities like Elvis Priestly and Marilyn Monroe. Akela’s even travelled to the far reaches of the Orient – not to mention the dastardly depths of the Open Ocean and the crazy curves of Route 66. This critter is an inspiration to us all and I assure you, if you think you know 20th century history – think again! For little has happened in this world Akela has not been present for.
Filled with wonder, adventure, and carnations abound; may Akela’s story inspire you to travel and aspire to reach your full potential.

Brian Keane may have zero recollection of those lost three days, but through his transcripts, he stumbles upon the true story of one creepy little Georgia town and the Karaoke Night where the songs always remain the same.

Shadows At Noon
The age of heroes, saints, and psychopaths is over, and humanity stands on the brink of oblivion.
The Null Field network was supposed to be the answer – to poverty, to war, to prosperity at any cost – and for a moment it was, powering the world with the flip of a switch. Yet Ni-Fi also changed everyone it touched, unlocking superhuman abilities… and condemning to death any “talents” who stepped out of the energy field’s range. Ni-Fi was supposed to set humanity free, but it may have sealed our fate.
The cities of the world grow quiet and cold, and none from beyond dare enter.
Until now.

Small Town Kid by Frank Prem
About Small Town Kid by Frank Prem
Small Town Kid is a poetry anthology that illuminates the experience of regional life as a child, in an insular town during the late 1960s to the mid-1970s, remote from the more worldly places where life really happens, in a time before the internet and the online existence of social media.
It is a time when a small town boy can walk a mile to school and back every day, and hunt rabbits with his dog in the hours of freedom before sundown. He can hoard crackers for bonfire night and blow up the deputy school master’s mailbox in an act of joyous rebellion.
It is a time when a small town teenager will ride fourteen miles on a bicycle for his first experience of girls, and of love. A time when migrating from a foreign country to a small town means his family will always feel that they are strangers, while visitors to the town are treated like an invading host.
It is also the remembrance of tragedy for inexperienced friends driving on narrow country roads.
This collection of poems and stories shares the type of childhood that has mostly disappeared in contemporary times. Come and revisit it here, in the pages of a Small Town Kid.
