ANN irresistible spirit by Ken Ross

About ANN irresistible spirit by Ken Ross

So much more than a romance novel, Ann goes through a lifetime of loss, passion, regret, and grief. It had me ugly-crying and happy-crying sometimes only a few pages apart from each other. The second chapter sucked me in with no hope of getting loose.

You walk through the relationship with Ann and learn how even a passionate and loving friendship that we learn from an early age is the foundation for a stable marriage can end in divorce. Although inseparable, the separation comes from changes in the marriage because of children and the changing times. Young love rears its head many times resurfacing and making you question how these two let something so special fall apart while offering hope that it might come together at the end!

No more spoilers here you’ll have to read the end for yourself, it’s well worth the read! The entire book is a non-stop roller coaster of everyday events that offer familiarity but will still have you turning pages.

Author Bio:
“Lina J. Potter has been dreaming up stories for as long as she can remember. She started putting her tales on paper when she was around ten years old, and, according to her own words, continued happily scribbling ever since: “Call it inspiration, the voice of a Muse, or plain obsession… but I felt I had to write it down or else my brain would explode with all these characters longing to come alive”.

However, Lina did not feel ready to share her writing with the world until recently, when in 2011 she submitted an extract from her historical fantasy novel, I am Sophia, to an online magazine. Immediately after, Lina J. Potter was approached by e-talent scouts representing publishers and other literary companies. Since then, there was no looking back for Lina J. Potter, who quickly turned into one of the most published and widely talked- about (yet least public!) romantic fantasy authors in the country. Her impressive publications list speaks for itself, and we are thrilled to announce that her first few bestsellers are now available in English.

Nowadays Lina J. Potter lives in the town of Tambov with her husband, daughter and two cats. She has a light-hearted approach to writing. Whenever she is not writing, you can find her practicing karate and lace-making. She avoids personal publicity and shies away from the literary limelight, preferring her quiet life to focus on writing.”

The Defiant Duchess

About The Defiant Duchess

When King Richard III must contend with his unruly sister Margaret, he can only groan for she is clever, opinionated, and willful. She has always preferred explanations and reasoning to merely obeying commands.
But Margaret, now the Duchess of Burgundy, has an important quest. She has recently found that her acts of charity and good intentions have not received the recognition they deserve, and she is determined to reshape her legacy. If along the way, she can experience some genuine romance—something her tyrant of a husband could never provide—all the better. Or so she assumes, until she meets Charlie, the most exasperating of men.
Little does she expect to spend days on end with just him for company.
The Defiant Duchess is royally engaging, fantasy historical fiction about an incredible woman and her pursuit of fulfilment.

Being an author is a career change for me. I once was an expert . . . uh, let us just say in a graduate scientific field . . . that no longer interests me to write about. I found, much to my personal amazement, that I preferred scribbling historical fiction novels. Especially if they made me laugh while I was either researching or writing them.
My family lives in a DC suburb, but I enjoy travelling and visiting, in particular, our Estes Park, Colorado, cabin adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park. The dogs usually come with me for the thirty-hour drive because I despise flying and motorcar everywhere I can. So why not give the pooches a vacation as well?
My family thinks I am a bit nuts in this regard and they fly everywhere they can. So I am the doggy transporter while they meet me at the chosen destination. Of course, this does not always work out, depending on where that vacation site actually is, and I have been known to fly, but I am not especially fond of the looks I get from surrounding passengers as I grip my seat.

Fulfillment: A Journey Through a Spiritual Life

About Fulfillment: A Journey Through a Spiritual Life

Fulfillment is a book for your soul.
We have a feeling that something is missing. We look back, we look forward, and we cannot say what it is, but we know we must find something that will bring us peace. Many of us are engaging in a journey that we can compare with “The Golden Rush.” We do not look for gold, we look for happiness, but soon we realize that happiness is not something that we can find but instead we can achieve. What is it? What we are looking for is called fulfillment, a journey through a spiritual life.
All that is in this book is a vision of God. When we write or create in general, we may say that we have a vision, but it is not necessarily our vision. God holds the most magnificent library of all, the infinite. Here on Earth when we invent or write a book or a play, we only access an infinitesimal part of that library. This book does not make an exception. We must remember and agree with the love of God, and then we are granted access. In fact, we have always had access to the source, but we refuse to connect. It is time for everyone to realize that we can establish and uphold the “God connection.”

Ica, the author’s pseudonym, is a nickname given by his brother when he was a child. His actual name is Mihail Militaru, and he was born in Romania during the communist era. That period has affected him profoundly and formed him at the same time. The communist regime believed that religion and especially God had to be removed from people’s lives. That was the teaching given at every stage of development, from kindergarten to university. Ică had to learn God’s lessons negating existence, and as any lesson, it gave him a positive perspective on life during his awakening times.
Ica’s life has been a great adventure. He immigrated to Canada after graduating from the university as an engineer, and later he moved to the United States, where he currently lives with his daughter and his wife.

The Reticent Executioner by John Fullerton

About The Reticent Executioner by John Fullerton

A dystopian world deserved a dystopian detective and London just got hers.
A female politician is shot dead in the capital. A talented detective, Kramer, is charged with leading the investigation; trouble is, he’s both much more and a great deal less than mere cop. His brilliance is at least in part due to a permanently skewed moral compass.
This is less whodunnit than whydunnit and a will-he-get-away-with it crime novel set in an England several years in the future – a world of labour camps, capital punishment, mass deportations and imprisonment without trial.

Mickey Cohen: A Novel (1918-1942)

About Mickey Cohen: A Novel (1918-1942)

Mickey Cohen, who died in 1976, was a colorful, feared West Coast gangster-gambler who knew the biggest names in Hollywood, was a confidant of Bugsy Siegel, and on first names with the biggest guys in the Mafia, plus everyone from Frank Sinatra to Marilyn Monroe. Bradley Lewis’ novel about Cohen draws from thousands of resources – a virtual treasure trove of Mafia-related books, articles and interviews. Lewis tells the early Mickey Cohen story during the period when he was growing up in Brownsville, Brooklyn, until the beginning of his foray with Bugsy Siegel into Las Vegas. From Bugsy Siegel to Lucky Luciano and Jack Dragna to Meyer Lansky. Mickey knew them well and worked closely with them for many years. This lively, fictional take is based on the first modern biography of Cohen, “Hollywood’s Celebrity Gangster, The Incredible Life and Times of Mickey Cohen”.

Author Bio:
Brad Lewis is a writer whose focus has ranged from the bizarre world of celebrity doctors to detailed histories of Jewish-American development, with particular interest to the entertainment industry. He co-wrote the bestselling biography of Milton Berle, My Father, Uncle Miltie, with the fabled comedian’s son, a candid look at the irreplaceable American television icon. His Hollywood’s Celebrity Gangster, The Incredible Life and Times of Mickey Cohen is the only biography of the charismatic and dangerous mobster whose life was a paradigm for the intermingling of Washington, Las Vegas, the entertainment business and the mob. Lewis’ novel Great White Doctor is a scalpel thriller centered on the sordid lives and weird sexual habits of “celebrity doctors”, exposing the seamy side of high profile specialists who perform unnecessary surgery on their female patients. The Bloomingdale Code is a well-researched page-turner about secret religious tenets, ancient medical ritual, conspiracies, and modern-day international politics. Lewis’ sequel to The Bloomingdale Code, God’s Helix, is a powerful reality-based roller-coaster ride that won’t let you off until the very end of the ride. Lewis has written often about the Hollywood scene, and is no stranger to celebrities and celebrity doctors. Anonymous underworld “businessmen,” often sent their lady friends for treatment in his offices. That experience with known mobsters contributed to Lewis’ interest in how gangsters, Hollywood, and Washington somehow connect in the American landscape. As an actor, Lewis appeared on TV in As the World Turns, Love of Life, The Guiding Light, and trained at the prestigious H. B. Studios in Manhattan, with its founder Herbert Berghof and fabled acting teacher William Hickey. He appeared in many off and off-off Broadway productions. Lewis has advanced degrees from CUNY (Psychology) and New York University; a fellowship at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, and St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital. He is retired from clinical practice and has fought for the elimination of formaldehyde from pediatric medicaments. His research has been quoted in hundreds of professional journals. A popular talk show guest, he has appeared on numerous radio and television programs. Lewis is a native New Yorker.
