The Hierophant’s Daughter by M. F. Sullivan

About The Hierophant’s Daughter by M. F. Sullivan

“The Hierophant’s Daughter is a gripping read from start to finish. I highly recommend it.”

-Tessa Dick, author of Philip K. Dick: Remembering Firebright & Conversations With Philip K. Dick

By 4042 CE, the Hierophant and his Church have risen to political dominance with his cannibalistic army of genetically modified humans: martyrs. In an era when mankind’s intergenerational cold wars against their long-lived predators seem close to running hot, the Holy Family is poised on the verge of complete planetary control. It will take a miracle to save humanity from extinction.

It will also take a miracle to resurrect the wife of 331-year-old General Dominia di Mephitoli, who defects during martyr year 1997 AL in search of Lazarus, the one man rumored to bring life to the dead. With the Hierophant’s Project Black Sun looming over her head, she has little choice but to believe this Lazarus is really all her new friends say he is–assuming he exists at all–and that these companions of hers are really able to help her. From the foulmouthed Japanese prostitute with a few secrets of her own to the outright sapient dog who seems to judge every move, they don’t inspire a lot of confidence, but the General has to take the help she can get.

After all, Dominia is no ordinary martyr. She is THE HIEROPHANT’S DAUGHTER, and her Father won’t let her switch sides without a fight. Not when she still has so much to learn.

The Eighth Prisoner

About The Eighth Prisoner

Paris, summer 1789. A desperate husband follows his unfaithful wife – and has his throat slit as a result. The consequences force together three very different characters: cynical, ambitious Police Inspector Rouget Maison, dedicated, rather world-weary, Abbé Pierre Reynard, Parish Priest of Saint-Merri and Christine, a young woman, coming of age as the world around her changes forever. Maison and Reynard first meet at the storming of the Bastille and the start of the French Revolution. Its seven prisoners have just been released when the bodies of two young women are also discovered in the cells. One of them turns out to have a great many secrets including an extremely compromising letter with details of a conspiracy at the very highest level. Over a tumultuous summer, Rouget, Reynard and Christine form an uneasy alliance to try to unmask those responsible for an increasingly baffling series of murders and thwart the conspiracy. Matters come to a head in October at the Women’s March on Versailles. The stakes could not be higher in this, the first of four crime thrillers, set during the French Revolution.

Author Bio:
Peter Stevens and Ian Honeysett are co-authors of the Bastille Mysteries Series. They have known each other since they were students at the Kent College for the Careers Service back in the 1970s where they staged comedy reviews together. Ian did a History degree at Oxford and taught the subject for a few years before a career in Careers and Personnel. Pete did a Business Studies degree, stayed in Careers work and was head of Barnet Careers service for many years. They both have an abiding interest in history and crime (largely theoretical) and it was Pete’s idea to co-write a crime novel set in the French Revolution. This seems to be a period largely untouched by crime writers. They did a considerable amount of research before writing a series of books: “The Eighth Prisoner”, the award-winning “The Year of the Oath”, “Death a la Carte” & “Dead Radical”. Writing novels together has been an interesting and challenging experience! Apart from writing, Ian likes to paint, run quizzes and play the ukulele (not at the same time) and Peter likes to play badminton, cricket and chess.

The Childfree Society Club

About The Childfree Society Club

When best friends Samantha Duncan and Ellie Thomas decide to establish The Childfree Society Club, their intent is that it would serve as a social group through which happily childfree women, like themselves, could connect. What they could not have imagined is that it would also become for its members a central support system from which lifelong friendships would bloom.

For Samantha, a successful and career-focused attorney, The Childfree Society Club is a source of encouragement as she learns to open her heart after falling hard for a single dad. For Ellie, at odds with her husband’s sudden desire to adopt a child, the club is a sense of kinship. For Sabrina Das, whose marriage is thrown into a tailspin when her husband decides he wants a baby after all, it is a place of comfort and strength. For Hannah Priestley, who wants nothing more than to have a baby but struggles with infertility, it is a means of healing. For Maddie Bennett, who carries the guilt of an abortion she had back in high school, it is a chance to atone for the bad decisions of her past.

Together, the interwoven lives of these five women candidly reveal the comical and poignant realities of what it means to be a childfree woman in a baby-obsessed world. With humor, drama, and raw emotion, The Childfree Society Club is a story about the true-to-life lengths women are willing (and not so willing) to go for love and friendship.

Judith Lucci is a Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Amazon Best Selling author who loves to kill people – which is totally opposite what she’s spent her life doing. “I love to think of heinous ways to dispose of people – sometimes a lot of people- but it must be creative. I don’t use guns very often but rather rely on my medical background and research to figure out the best way to get the job done. Bullets are just too easy. I’m sure a psychiatrist would have a ball trying to figure out why someone who spent her life caring for people and saving lives, now spends hours each day in the creative pursuit of murder.”
