It didn’t help that, as an open source and still-growing therapy, a lot of what I was reading and seeing (and trying) was at times confusing, unhelpful, poorly thought out, or in the best interests of the person selling the course or advice.

Rhys Bendith has been using EFT Tapping since 1998. It has, over the years and decades, assisted enormously in a variety of personal endeavours. As a previously overweight, overworked, and stressed adviser to banks, a national marketing manager for a large financial services provider, and later a business consultant to clients in over 100 industries in several countries, EFT helped him through the transition from value-adding to a values-driven career in education and self help, with profound health and mindset changes along the way.

The bulk of the collection is from World War Two, with a smaller number from World War One. Chapters have been organized to represent different themes. They include such things as encouraging people to buy war bonds, motivating workers in factories to produce more armaments and other war necessities, warning soldiers about the dangers of venereal diseases, creating a patriotic fervor among the populace and, of course, demonizing the enemy. Posters were placed in places such as factories, post offices, train stations, schools, restaurants, and stores.

The main purpose of this series is to foster an appreciation for the art and the artists that created these remarkable posters. Competitions were held among government agencies, which would then choose the best designs. The artists were not compensated for their work, but perhaps saw it as their patriotic contribution to the war effort.

Perspectives illustrates how having one-sided and incomplete information could give an illusion of having all the facts but still lead us to draw wrong conclusion.

Rovin DCruz was born on the 2nd of July 1996 in a middle-class family living in central Mumbai, India. In his formative years, Rovin abhorred reading! “Sad Losers!”, was the term he would use to describe people who enjoyed reading.

Rovin’s heart throbbed for action, mystery and thriller genres, as he would ask his parents to narrate thrilling and suspenseful bed-time stories. Books for Rovin weren’t something that could be for leisure. This all changed in the second year of his engineering studies. Rovin loved the Tom Hanks movie, ‘The Da Vinci Code’. He would scorn at people who read the Dan Brown novel saying, “Why read books, when you can watch movies?” “Because books are better than movies!”, is the response he got, which was completely mind-boggling to him. He took-up the task of reading the book, just to prove to himself that the novel could never be as entertaining as the movie. And boy, was he wrong! Reading the Da Vinci Code was a complete ideological reboot for Rovin. He could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins during the chase scenes and chill of suspense clenching his spine during the tense moments. All this happened despite the fact that he already knew what the twists and reveals were, from watching the movie. After reading the book, he couldn’t stand the movie again as he felt so much of the entertaining stuff was left out of it. Rovin claims that The Da Vinci Code is the best book he has read and perhaps ever will read. he now believed that, books are in fact better than movies!

Da Vinci code inspired him to write his first short story titled, Perspective. He used non-linear story telling just like his favorite book. He realized that he thoroughly enjoyed the process of writing thrillers. During his vacations, a trip planned with friends to Mahabaleswar was cancelled. It was about this time a thriller movie called NH 10 was releasing. This got him thinking what if something like NH 10 would have happened to them during their trip. This got him to write his first book titled, Mahabaleshwar, which was also the first ebook he published.

Just one week after him publishing Mahabaleswar, on Amazon, the pen to publish contest was announced. Rovin desperately wanted to be a part of this competition but the rules prevented entries of any book published before the announcement of the competition. Now, out of option, he decided to publish a second book for the competition. Now he planned to complete his book within one month so that he could use the remaining time for marketing the book. This was also the time his engineering assignments were coming due and exams lurking around the corners. Everyday he would go to college from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., coming home and completing his assignments and studies till 12 a.m. and devoting the hours 12 a.m. to 2 p.m. for writing his novel. After 31 days of this schedule, he finally completed his second novel, his master piece, ‘Angel of Death’.

Rhys Bendith has been using EFT Tapping since 1998. It has, over the years and decades, assisted enormously in a variety of personal endeavours. As a previously overweight, overworked, and stressed adviser to banks, a national marketing manager for a large financial services provider, and later a business consultant to clients in over 100 industries in several countries, EFT helped him through the transition from value-adding to a values-driven career in education and self help, with profound health and mindset changes along the way.

A lifelong interest in education that counts followed, and Rhys wrote courses for a government department assisting to re-skill the long-term unemployed, as well as working on an incubator project to assist unemployed people launch and manage their own business ventures.

Dr. Mel Ona is double Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Ona completed an advanced endoscopy fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at The Brooklyn Hospital Center (clinical affiliate: Mount Sinai Hospital) where he also served as chief GI fellow during his third year. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn (formerly Lutheran Healthcare) in New York where he served as Chief Resident during his PGY-3 year. Mel graduated with an M.D. from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2009.

Prior to medical school, he earned a Master of Science degree in Nutritional Biochemistry and Metabolism with a Specialization in Physiology from the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. He also has a Master of Arts in Medical Science from Boston University School of Medicine and a Master of Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health. Often called a “free spirit”, as a single mother, I worked a variety of jobs from construction to radio to jazz concert production. When my son went off to college, I sailed off for ten years in the Caribbean as crew on private yachts. I continued to travel and volunteer at home and abroad including at a monkey rescue in Cornwall and a cinnamon farm in Costa Rica.
I have been published in Cape Ann Magazine, The Bacopa Literary Review (2nd prize), The Chiral Review, Postcards from Paradise and Caribbean Compass. My novel “Alizé – A Caribbean Love Story”, about a singular woman boat captain, is available online. My latest novel, “The Big Deep – Caribbean Noir” is the first of series.
