The sliding glass doors of the mortuary opened and two large men dressed in black exited and scanned up and down the street. The first man rushed down the twelve steps to the waiting limousine and opened the rear door. Pizza Joe Straga, head of the Straga Mafia family, exited the mortuary followed by two additional body guards. The first shot from the assassin’s Heckler & Koch HK PSG-1 Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle equipped with a Bugger & Thomet suppressor was a head shot making an open casket for Pizza Joe very difficult. Four additional shots took out the bodyguards while the virgin snow turned crimson.

We traveled all over the US and Canada, schlepping wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, G-tube feeding supplies and medications for six weeks at a time every summer.

The idea for Raven was born from my experience with the girls. Though one was non-verbal and the other used very few words, they knew so much more than they were able to express. I would make a terrible eye-witness to a crime, but they noticed the smallest changes in their surroundings.
