Hi Awesome Reader,
As we observe Patriot Day and remember the events of September 11th, 2001, it’s important to reflect, honor, and take care of ourselves. This day serves as a reminder of resilience, strength, and unity, but it can also stir up deep emotions. I personally lost 4 or 5 people I
knew on that horrible day. Even more to cancer that were down there helping out. One just a few weeks ago.
Here are a few tips for taking care of yourself today:
1. Give Yourself Permission to Feel: It’s okay to experience whatever emotions come up. Allow yourself the space to feel without judgment.
2. Take Breaks: Whether it’s a walk, time spent in nature, or simply stepping away from work, give yourself the breaks you need to recharge and reset.
3. Connect with Loved Ones: Reach out to friends, family, or colleagues who understand. Sharing your feelings and memories can help ease the emotional burden.
4. Limit Exposure
to Media: It’s okay to step back from the news or social media. Sometimes, too much exposure to difficult content can increase stress or anxiety.
5. Practice Self-Compassion: Be gentle with yourself. This day can stir up old memories, and it’s important to show yourself kindness.
Patriot Day is a day to honor and remember, but also to
support one another. It is a good day to open a book and read. (Not that there is a bad day for that). If you need someone to talk to today hit the reply button. I am here for you.
Thanks for being part of this wonderful community,
