Mark has his heart in the wrong place – literally. A minor defect at birth revealed that it lies slightly to one side of where it should be, a fact that always gave him some comfort as a young man should an enraged lover or crazed stalker decide to go for him with a knife.

Mark has always been an avid reader and was intrigued at an early age to discover that most authors seem to have had a enormous variety of, often short-lived, jobs on their way to becoming a full-time author. To this end, Mark has worked as a hospital porter (until he nearly killed a patient on the operating table), a factory worker (until he was asked to stop being one due to sustaining chicken-related injuries), a barman (until he spent a week being investigated by the police for suspected theft… before they caught the real culprit) and an assistant in a Doctor Who specialist shop in London (until it went bust and he found himself helping the owner do a moonlight flit with the rest of the stock).

Mark has a passion for both science fiction and fantasy, so describes himself as a Science Fantasy author. His first novel, Dawn, which launches The Enchanters series, includes magic and alien worlds, a dystopian future and fantastic monsters.

Mark lives in Wiltshire, England. He is a father of three and a husband of one. In my life, family comes first. I have been blessed to be a full-time stay-at-home wife to a wonderful man and a mother of two beautiful children. I have always loved expressing myself creatively–drawing, sketching, painting, crafts, and decorating (pretty much anything I can see in my mind's eye and create with my hands).

The pandemic was a challenging time for everyone. In my life, it brought to the surface a lot of unprocessed and unhealed emotions. This caused me to begin to go to therapy regularly.

What I learned in that time was that anger is a secondary emotion and this awakened something in me: there were huge gaps in what I had been taught and learned about emotions growing up. Like everyone else, I had always felt them, but now I wanted to know exactly what they were, their purpose, and why we have them.

I began to ask myself, "what did I need to know when I was my kids' age? If I knew then what I know now, how differently would my life have turned out?" Kids see more than we know and know more than we realize. I believe that with the correct tools and education, kids can build a healthy framework around expressing their emotions and inner-world.

​From there, The Anger Inside was born. It was a cathartic release and healing of my own inner child and spiritually, something I wanted to share with other parents. Parents who are on their own healing journey and want something different for their kids.
