The author grew up in the small Caribbean island of St.Lucia where she attended an Evangelical church. It was at the tender age of five she asked her mother what did she have to do to be saved, and thus began a life long quest to know God and have a relationship with Him. Candia graduated high schools at sixteen and a few months later was enrolled in a nursing program following what she believed was her calling , with a bachelor degree in Nursing and a master in healthcare administration. Some time after relocating to the US she was introduced to a nondenominational Christian fellowship which had the answers she was looking for helping her build that relationship with God she had been praying for. After retiring from bedside nursing Candia decided to pursue studies in natural health. She now holds a doctorate degree in holistic natural health and healing, and received verifications as a health minister, a natural heath practitioner, an ordained natural health and healing minister and a holistic nutrition practitioner. Candia is also a published author of several books with a follow up devotional in the works. Brooke Gilbert is a Tennessee native, a microbiology graduate of the University of Tennessee, and a border collie mom. She is, as you may have already guessed, a hopeless romantic and a lover of Jane Austen. When she isn’t writing, she works as a jewelry designer, an audiobook narrator, and a graphic designer. Her writing features characters with autoimmune disorders, something she deals with herself. She believes it is important for these types of characters to be seen in modern literature and started writing so she could see someone like herself in literature. She is considered a medical mystery and has several rare autoimmune disorders. These disorders caused her to withdraw from Physician Assistant School, but she is happy to be pursuing her dreams of designing, creating, and writing. She loves watching classic films (thrillers and romantic comedies, too), reading, playing the ukulele, painting, dancing, Pilates, and spending time with her dog, family, and friends. Richard Ley has long been interested in defining innovative solutions to the nation’s economic, political and societal challenges. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in economics from The Pennsylvania State University. Following graduation, Mr. Ley worked for a financial institution and at one point, as a young banker, provided an informational report to his congressman, who arranged for an appearance before the US House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee studying ways to increase the nation’s savings rate. It took a number of years for his first novel, Escape from Serfdom to be completed and some of the credit goes to his fellow members of the North Hills Toastmasters Club, whom listen and provided valuable feedback to many of the concepts and ideas contained in the novel. Unfortunately, soon after publication, the publisher went out of business. Recently, Escape from Serfdom has been expanded into The Ship of State Series of four and possibly more novels. Additional novels include: FATE; Love My MB; and GIMPY and Dr. B. will be out soon. Mr. Ley is also writing screenplays and hopefully FATE will be made into a motion picture in the near future. In October 2014, Mr. Ley was awarded the Distinguished Toastmaster designation for his individual efforts, along with the support he provided to his club and Toastmasters District 13. Mr. Ley resides in suburban Pittsburgh, PA with his wife Barbara and two cats, Woody & Arlo.
