Ben Trandem was born in Minnesota and grew up across several Midwest states. He attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Fine Art Animation. He has worked in video production for two decades in a multitude of positions. The Cathode Ray Chronicles: Bright Future is his first novel. Currently he is at work on the sequel novel The Cathode Ray Chronicles: Dark Past.

He is also Co-creator and director of Wrestling Pro Wrestling, a comedy professional wrestling show. As well as co-owner of the Sweat Monster Shop, a costume and prop creation studio.

Ed is a successful entrepreneur based in London, UK. This is his first book.

"Yes, I started writing during lockdown. Forgive the cliche. I soon found that writing is the hardest work I've ever done. It amazes me that writers were traditionally the lowest on the rung in Hollywood. Without the story and the writer you have nothing."

This idea for this book came about when Ed noticed a mediaeval painting of several magi surrounding the infant Christ and realised the number of wise men / kings at Christ's birth was very much open to question. Combined with the idea that Herod was determined to kill the baby, it was a short leap to see the Fourth King as a warrior, there to protect the infant.

He’s also written a film script “On Earth”

Logline: In Ancient Rome, a young noble-woman becomes involved with the newly-arrived apostle Peter and his family. A cousin of the narcissistic Emperor Nero, she innocently brings the small Christian group to his attention, with disastrous and historic results.
