Christmas with Dad’s Best Friend by K.C. Crowne

About Featured Book: Christmas with Dad’s Best Friend by K.C. Crowne

I just kissed my dad’s best friend…
And he’s really not too happy about it.

Let’s just say a lifelong crush can make a girl do some wild things.
I ran into Nathaniel at my parent’s party.
And I couldn’t get over my desire for the silver-haired GQ model.

So I excuse myself to the restroom.
And I imagine him there with me as I touch myself.
Then I speak my desire for him as I reach my climax.

KNOCK. KNOCK.

In walks Nathaniel with a stern gaze.

And what appears to be a stiffness in his trousers.

“Whatever this is it NEEDS to stop.”

“You mean this?”  I come close to his luscious lips and pause.

Then we finally kiss.

I took my chances in the bathroom that fateful night.

But NOTHING could prepare me for the greatest Christmas surprise.

Delvering the Right Stuff by Andrew J. Dingee

About Delvering the Right Stuff by Andrew J. Dingee

Tom Wolfe’s 1979’s novel, The Right Stuff, highlighted how seven test pilots were picked to be part of the Mercury Project. In Wolfe’s book, he documents the enormous risk that these men took to push the envelope and deliver America to be the first on the moon. These men were chosen because of their mental and physical toughness-they were chosen because they had “the right stuff.” As the space and aviation industries matured, they quickly learned that relying on men and women to have the “right stuff” does not work. Several high profile fatal airline accidents led to the creation of a new term-“Human Factors.” Delivering the Right Stuff examines the airline industry’s investigations into Human Factors and details how key findings from aircraft accidents shaped its acceptance of pilot error. It is an evolution that delivered transferrable frontline tools that forged a foundation for safety and operational excellence for any company.

Andrew Dingee graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Economics. Upon graduation, Andrew was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps as a Second Lieutenant. Two years later, Andrew earned his “wings of golds” and flew fighters for 27 years. While in the Marines, he earned numerous awards including the Joe Foss award for aerial combat maneuvers – dog fighting.
In 1999, he was hired at United Airlines as a pilot and promoted into a variety of safety leadership positions. For his accomplishments, he was nominated for the Flight Safety Foundation Brownlow award. As an accident investigator and incident reporting expert, he implemented changes to the corporate procedures that increased safety and efficiency to the world’s largest airline. In 2010, Andrew successfully implemented aviation style checklists and procedures into the oil and gas industry that reduced risk and increased efficiency – saving hundreds of millions of dollars. In 2018, Andrew completed his book titled, “Delivering the Right Stuff”. His book highlights the journey on how the airline industry migrated away from blaming the individual to understanding why people make mistakes. Recently, Andrew retired as the Chief Standards Officer for bpx energy. In this position, Andrew established the industry’s first standardization department for a major oil and gas company which lowered safety metrics by 50% and drastically improved operational excellence to the front line.

erise DeLand loves to write about dashing heroes and the sassy women they adore.

But I bet you knew that!

Did you know that she’s known for her poetic elegance and accuracy of detail?

That she’s an award-winning author of more than 40 novels and was first published in 1991 by Kensington, then Pocket Books, later by St. Martin’s Press and independent presses?

That her books have been monthly selections of the Doubleday Book Club and the Mystery Guild? Right. And she’s won awards. Lots of them. Need details? Write to her. She’ll send you the list!

To research, she’s dived into the oldest texts and dustiest library shelves. She also travels abroad taking good walking shoes, trusty notebooks and pens, plus camera! She visits chateaux and country homes she loves to people with her own imaginary characters.

And at home every day? She cooks. Never dusts. (That can be a problem.) She goes swimming or pumps iron once a week and tries (desperately) to grow vegetables in her arid backyard in south Texas!

The Arrow of Time by B.T. Lamprey

About The Arrow of Time by B.T. Lamprey

Only minutes after his tragic murder—and a hundred million years before he’ll be born—Aloysius Cook gets the offer of a lifetime.

Joining a team of time traveling commandos may not sound like a cushy gig, but at the moment Al’s only alternative involves a closed casket. If he hopes to survive working for The Institute at the Beginning of Time, he’ll need a crash course on temporal paradoxes, recursive causal loops, and the very real possibility of the multiverse folding in on itself like a poorly made origami giraffe.

Luckily for Al, every new recruit receives a copy of The Everyday Timekeeper’s Almanac, the only guide to spacetime a time traveler will ever need. Compiled by an infinite number of researchers from across all possible realities, it contains every fact and every theory that might prove useful to a time traveler, plus helpful tips on how to avoid obliterating the multiverse.

Armed only with his Almanac, Al must dive into the time stream alongside a short-tempered saint, a self-centered cyborg, and an embittered survivor of the climate apocalypse. To prevent a cataclysm that threatens The Institute itself, they’ll need to outwit a deadly cadre of rival time travelers—hopefully without stepping on any butterflies or becoming romantically involved with someone’s grandmother.

Cracking of the Mask by Alexander Green and Maria Petrova Green

About Cracking of the Mask by Alexander Green and Maria Petrova Green

Everything had been planned and executed to perfection. Where was the satisfaction, then? Why was happiness always so elusive?

Zenon McClow, a businessman with a checkered past, flees the United States, hiding first in Ecuador and then in the tropical paradise of New Caledonia. Plagued by burning existential questions, he begins to write down his life story while on the remote Isle of Pines. After failing to find relief, he turns to penning The Mask, a historical novel set in the mysterious land of ancient Thrace.

Zenon’s fiction endeavor is inspired by Evmondia, a kind-hearted Bulgarian girl living in New York who introduced him to the colorful world of the Thracians. He bases his story on events from the 4th century BCE, a time when Philip II of Macedonia, the father of Alexander ‘the Great,’ endangered Thrace. In Zenon’s tale, a young Greek scholar, Trysimachus, sets out on a perilous quest to the court of the Thracian king Ketriporis. As Trysimachus is forced to confront his own prejudices and fears, Ketriporis must deal with the increasing threats to his rule…

Beset by perils of his own—amidst ill health—Zenon re-examines The Mask, convinced it contains clues to help him resolve his troubled past. What will The Mask reveal to Zenon?

An epic tale of adventure, battles, and political intrigues—but also of self-discovery, transformation, and personal healing—Cracking of the Mask brings together two worlds and two eras that, at first glance, have little in common. Readers will experience the revival of an intriguing ancient culture as they embark on a journey in which they will face the everlasting conflict between our personas and who we are beneath the masks.
