Lethal by Alexander Charalambides

About Lethal by Alexander Charalambides

With no-one to turn to and nowhere to go a teenage orphan builds new friendships at a brutal military school. Will saving the world from the academy’s plot destroy her new found family?
Trapped in a foster home with indifferent parents, Hildi’s only path to a normal life disappears with Cooper, her lifelong friend.
Escaping from her cage of medication, Hildi leaves the only home she’s ever known on Cooper’s trail, her only clue a school that doesn’t exist.
Truman Academy is not what Hildi’s expecting and her fragile hope to find the truth about her family gives way to a desperate struggle to survive. No heat, no shelter, and almost no food, with no end in sight to the marching or shooting drills. Despite the indifferent cruelty of the instructor’s, Hildi’s determination earns her something she’s never had before: a close group of loyal friends.
When her friends turn to her, Hildi begins to realize her potential for something beyond survival. Combining forces with her fellow rebel students, discovering her courage and potential for leadership, they plan the unthinkable: school wide mutiny.
LETHAL is a fast-paced, first person, female-led science fiction thriller filled with action, espionage and mind-blowing technology. Set in an alternate present in the midst of an invisible war, its cunning heroine and deep cast of found-family members touch on themes of trust, family and genetic pre-destination.
The book is discounted to 2.99 (from 4.99) until November 19th.
