Codename Poltergeist by William Joel

Codename Poltergeist by William Joel

The CIA and presidential cabinet members covertly enter into an agreement with the Palestinians to remove certain key Israeli government figures in a plan to enable the United States to claim that they engineered peace in the Middle East and gain the favor of Arabic countries and likely gain favor to increase energy supply. Sentinel, a group of angelic-type beings who monitor the Earth, are very concerned that the United States could be igniting a major conflict if the Israelis learn of the plan and retaliate. Taneen, an unscrupulous and deadly CIA operative convinces the CIA deputy director of operations to eliminate the agency’s most highly regarded operative, James Halyard, Codename Poltergeist, believing Halyard was a possible threat to their plans. Taneen won’t admit it, but he’s scared of Halyard who moves like a ghost through his missions and is jealous of Halyard’s deadliness. The attempt to kill Halyard fails, but they kill Halyard’s wife in the process. An angelic-like being from the Sentinel rescues Halyard who was seriously injured in the explosion that practically destroyed the hotel room he was sharing with his wife. Sentinel heals Halyard of his wounds. They have been monitoring Halyard for some time and give him the option of becoming an agent for their purposes with highly augmented mental and physical abilities. He agrees and truly becomes Poltergeist able to move silently with the grace and ease of a large predator. His earing, vision, and cognitive abilities are highly elevated, and he has the ability to move through the transparency to escape from confined spaces. Sentinel sends Poltergeist to unravel and thwart the conspiracy. Even with Poltergeist’s impressive abilities he finds Taneen to be elusive and very deadly. Poltergeist encounters several unforeseen allies, a highly capable and equally lethal MOSSAD agent, Deborah Eisman, who at first sought to eliminate him and a crusty homicide detective, Harry Sullivan who help Poltergeist battle Taneen and the CIA.

Author Bio:

I was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served at the end of the Vietnam war. The Air Force found that I had a talent for languages, so they sent me to language school. I served as a linguist for a section of military intelligence and then spent several years at the National Security Agency (NSA). I was very interested in police work and later joined a state police. After some time in uniform, I was recruited to be a hostage/crisis negotiator and was trained by FBI hostage negotiators in criminal and abnormal psychology and in the techniques used to “talk down” a hostage taker or someone barricaded with the intent to commit suicide. It turned out that I had a natural talent for it and never lost anyone. I retired after getting an advanced degree in psychology and decided to use my talent to help others who suffer from mental illness and despair. I wrote my first novel in the mid-nineties but found I needed to learn more of how to express my creative imagination eloquently with descriptive and believable character depiction, dialogue, story line, and background. I love the idea of providing readers with entertainment and an escape into a different realm of their imagination with my writing. I continue to enjoy reading immensely and my favorites are mystery, science fiction, and fantasy. Originally from the East Coast, I transplanted West. Maybe someday I’ll return to the East Coast area. I enjoy a close and loving family relationship my wife, my children, grandchildren and my siblings.

Samuel Gdula is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a BA, Summa Cum Laude, in English. He is a member of the Apex Writers Group, an inductee into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society for two-year Schools, and the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society for four-year schools.

Samuel is a lifelong fan of the fantasy genre, having grown up reading books in the worlds of the Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Elric, Middle Earth, Pathfinder, and more. As early as middle school, he realized that his calling was to pay forward the excitement,
inspiration, and creativity he found in the written word.

A shameless nerd, he has spent much of the last decade playing both tabletop and computer games, in various rules systems, with his close circle of friends. This has provided him with first-hand feedback regarding what fantasy readers look for in a new book or story. Sometimes, they hunger for something unique, which approaches a tale from a fresh perspective. And sometimes a reader might want to kick back, relax, and read, once again, about a band of adventurers exploring a monster-infested dungeon and relieving it of its treasure.

Samuel is Todd Gdula’s son, and they write together in rural Red Hook in upstate New York.

Todd Gdula is a graduate of SUNY Empire State College with a BA, Summa Cum Laude, in creative writing. He is an Alpha Tier inductee of the SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society and a member of the Apex Writers Group.

Todd is a veteran of the US Army, where he served as an infantryman (MOS 11H and 11B) during the Cold War. During his four-year enlistment, he deployed to Central America, Egypt (on Operation Bright Star with the 101st Airborne Division), South Korea (in Pan Mun Jom with the Joint Security Force), To Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Mannheim in West Germany (for Reforger with the 1st Cavalry Division).

Todd retired as a major from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office in 2012, where he began as a correction officer in 1984. During his twenty-eight-year career, he learned people aren’t always what they seem—and that most are capable of redemption if given the right tools—and perhaps a hand up.

His exposure to this amazing planet’s incredible people cultivated his interest in language, religion, ethnicity, customs, and food. These interests, along with his creative heroes and mentors, drive his imagination.

Todd is an avid consumer of words—especially fantasy, horror, and science fiction. A
nerd of the highest order, he plays tabletop RPGs (Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and Starfinder) twice per week.

Todd is Sam Gdula’s father, and they write together in rural Red Hook in upstate New York.

How I Learned to Like My Mom: Forgive Those You Love … Before It’s Too Late by Dorenda Doyle

How I Learned to Like My Mom: Forgive Those You Love … Before It’s Too Late by Dorenda Doyle

Set in Southwest Oklahoma, this is the story of a beautiful, talented woman who drank too much, parented too little, and married SEVEN times. She just happened to be my mother, whom I loved, but decidedly did not like. Miles and years later, after being required to prepare her eulogy, I began to unravel my mother’s complicated life. The more I uncovered, the more I realized I had not known my mother well enough to like her. So, this is MY story as well–how I learned to like this mom I loved, how I came to realize that forgiveness is one of our greatest gifts, and ultimately, realizing that Mom, despite her many faults, taught me a most important lesson–to pull myself up by my bootstraps! This book is for anyone who had a difficult or traumatic childhood because of alcohol, abuse, divorce, neglect or poverty; most especially, it is for someone who needs forgiveness in their life. GREAT MOTHERS DAY GIFT!

The Satanic Chapel by Bob Price

The Satanic Chapel by Bob Price

The Devil does not discriminate. Skin colour or religion. A soul is a soul and he wants them all.
Believing yourself to be in a position to control the Devil has been the ambition of many Satanists over the centuries. None has yet proven successful because the Devil has his own agenda and knows exactly what people are about. Yet even in the twenty first century they continue to try ignoring the failures of the past at their own peril.
Members of The Satanic Chapel had reached a point of self-confidence when they too felt ready to take the next step. An invitation to the Devil himself to visit and help them rule the world of humans. It was an ambitious plan that was years in the making and now it was finally ready and wheels within wheels were moving to make it a reality.
When odd things happen different police units are employed to investigate. After authority figures were reported missing a standard investigation unit became employed to find them. A less than standard unit called Irregular Missing Persons (IMP) also received instructions to investigate. Few outside IMP had even heard of them and so it was that the lead officer Superintendent Frank Marshal encountered Superintendent Betty Buick from IMP for the first time.
Buick’s instructions to take a purely advisory role during the investigation led by Marshal her counterpart was less than ideal, but with a new boss who appeared to detest the very thought of IMP:she was constrained to play tag, something she never did that well.
If, as Buick thought, that the supernatural was somehow involved she determined it wouldn’t be long before IMP was called upon to do more than simply advise. She wasn’t wrong.

I am Gabriela Drescher, an engineer by trade and a dedicated member of the Professional Engineers Ontario. I’m also a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt professional by the American Society of Quality.

My vision is to live a life of authenticity, inner harmony, freedom, and adventure.

My journey is a testimony to that. My goal consisted of coming to Canada, succeeding in the engineering field as an immigrant woman, overcoming my struggles with a life-threatening illness and a failing marriage, finding my first engineering job on foreign land, and raising children while pursuing a professional career.

For almost twenty years, I have been training and coaching businesses to focus on the long-term vision, set goals aligned to that vision, and work on achieving targets toward their vision.

As an entrepreneur, I have provided online training and simulation games in the continuous improvement field to hundreds of companies and dozens of universities and colleges all over the world so that teams can not only learn the theory but also experiment by playing with Lego blocks, competing to build robots better and faster. The feedback has been very positive because people learn by conducting hands-on experiments, by trial and error.

During the workshops, I gave ample examples from my own life to help bring to life strategies for personal development, and the response from the participants has been excellent because they were able to relate to that and bring forward their own stories.

I’ve been through so much and have learned so much through personal experience and communication with others who wished to share their wisdom with me. I’ve built a family and a professional legacy that I’m proud of, and now I’m ready and want to give back to the world in the same way it has given me so much.

Author Bio:
Georgia author ANDREA LANE was inspired to write her children’s book, “Abby the Crabby Tabby: Discovers Gratitude” after discovering the power of gratitude.

To share this lesson with her two young sons, and inspired by her beloved tabby cats, Lane decided to write a picture book which combined her values of gratitude and love of all animals.

“I hope to offer all children a fun way of thinking about gratitude,” said Lane, “plus a light-hearted way for parents to talk to their kids about it.”

Expressing gratitude for all you have is one of the principles of Reiki, a Japanese form of energy healing. Lane, who credits Reiki with changing her life, is a certified Reiki master.

For several years Lane worked as a public policy advocate for animal protection. She continues to support organizations that work for the humane treatment and protection of all animals, from cats to cows. A percentage of the proceeds from “Abby the Crabby Tabby” sales will benefit a different nonprofit each month. The May recipient is Furkids, the largest no-kill shelter in the Southeast. “Abby the Crabby Tabby” will be released on National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day – April 30th.

In addition to a BA in political science from Georgia State University, Lane holds a JD from Emory Law School. She is also the founder of an interior design firm and co-founder of the jewelry line, Chatwal Lane.

Lane lives north of Atlanta in Johns Creek, where she writes whenever she has time in her “office” (her bed.) She is grateful for the life she shares each day with her husband, two children, and three entertaining, inspiring tabbies.

The Stone Messiah Vol l by Anonymous lV

About The Stone Messiah Vol l by Anonymous lV

If you lived in a world…
where your civilisation could be annihilated; every person you held dear murdered, mutilated or sold into slavery; in unremitting danger and unendurable oppression –
YOU would need a messiah…

Africa 2000 BC
An unimaginably cruel and dangerous world,
Genocidal war between two civilisations…
The ultimate liberation struggle epic.

$0.99

Circa 2300 BC – seafarers of Sumerian origin settle south of the Rovuma in East Africa, establishing the Uran civilisation, which grows and flourishes for 300 years. Centred on a walled city in Mozambique, a horse centred, hunting, metal working culture develops.
Four hundred miles to the north, around 2070 BC, a huge maritime expedition from Egypt reaches Tanzania. They establish a great capital south of the Rufiji river. Seventy years later, these empire builders destroy the Uran capital Avara. A child is found in the ashes. The story begins…
At twenty, that child unites the most gifted men of his generation, against those who brought their civilisation to the brink of annihilation.
This is the story of the Uran’s astonishing war against the Andracians.

“They murdered Jeram, my father; but from the ashes of this betrayal, a child has grown; strong enough to change the course of empires. Someone who will stand in the face of time, pain, disease, exhaustion.

Author Bio:
I always remember those expectant moments in the cinema, before the main feature, when the lights went down and the trailers began, when imagination went into overdrive visualising scenes from films that had never yet been made. Sometimes imprinted on the memory far more strongly than the film itself, almost like flashbacks to collective memory or forgotten lives. Very rarely did cinema live up to the tempo or wild intensity of imagination, or the vividness of those rare dreams that survive in the memory. The most memorable stories of all, were those myths that have lasted a thousand years, or to the dawn of civilisation – Gilgamesh, the Siege of Troy, Arthurian legend. Concise, fast moving tales with beautifully memorable twists, stories of heroes who like gladiators, defy death many times, but ultimately must pay the price: and for whom death usually provides a kind of absolution for all transgressions. The authors of these greatest of stories often shared the single, universal name – Anonymous.

Last Stop: Paris by John Pearce

About Last Stop: Paris by John Pearce

Eddie Grant has unfinished business. He never caught the man who caused his family’s murder, but now he’s close. Never cross a man who’s out for revenge…

While the unofficial CIA operative decimated the crime syndicate responsible for his family’s murder, the evil mastermind behind it remains out of reach. When he learns his mortal enemy has surfaced in a glittering Paris salon, Eddie renews the hunt…

With the help of his alluring partner Aurélie, he connects with an informant only to see the man thrown off a balcony and to his gruesome death. The CIA enlists Eddie to investigate the death, track down Nazi-stolen treasures, and stop a goldbug with an unhealthy interest in heavy artillery.

Kirkus Reviews said Last Stop: Paris is “A full-throttle adventure through modern Europe and the Mediterranean that’s part thriller, part mystery, and all rollicking ride.” Shelf Unbound Magazine selected it as one of the six best indie books of the year.
