Hi readers. Alex here. I was born on the west of Scotland and grew up on a farm where I was surrounded by family and friends and a series of beloved Border Collie dogs. After University where I studied English literature and Politics, I packed my bags and ventured off to London. London in the 90s was the best. After that I was lucky enough to live and work in India for a number of years. Waking up with a decorated elephant in my driveway was a particular highlight of the wedding season. After that I lived in Tirana, Albania. A beautiful mostly undiscovered gem you should all visit. i then lived in fabulous Poland for a while. It has the best beaches. Who knew ? Then after a couple of years in the friendly city of Sheffield (where I set my first book ) I moved to Jordan. A beautiful, friendly alluring country full of wonder and history.
Aside from writing, I, as you might have guessed love travel and list Lebanon, Argentina and Montenegro as some of my current hotspots!
I love tennis, watching more than playing these days. I am a foodie in training and seem to be developing an addiction to spicy cuisine.
I love my friends who are a great bunch and I love my two pugs, Tabbouche and Malfouf. Their names mean Chunky and Canbbage in Arabic as my boys are Jordanians.
I always wanted to write but it took a pandemic to get me started. My first book sounds like it might be sad but it isn’t. I really believe there is humour and positive human spirit in all situations. That’s what keeps us human beings going and I sprinkled my first book with funny tales and anecdotes, some of which really happened to me and my friends, others embellished for dramatic effect!
I am currently living in the UK and working on my second novel which is set in Albania. Lovely to meet you all!
