Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a writer, business consultant and jazz trumpeter. I have written two books. In My Contemplation is a book of essays. Yoga A Love Story published by Rupa Publications is my first novel.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Yoga A Love Story. It was inspired by my desire to bring Eastern and Western religions together by focusing on the areas where they intertwine. I was very fortunate to participate at the Sai Anantam Ashram of Swamini Turiyasangitananda located just outside of Los Angeles. She was the wife of John Coltrane and was also known as Alice Coltrane. Her practice attracted me to study Indian culture.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to write late at night and during the “Brahma-muhurta” period about one hour and 36 minutes before sunrise. It is a very powerful period. I write during the days as well but my best writing is pre-dawn.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
There are many authors that have influenced me. I read William Faulkner, T.S. Eliot, James Baldwin, Ralph Ellison growing up. I love mystical books like the entire Carlos Castaneda series and Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist. Most recently Colson Whitehead is a favorite.

What are you working on now?
I am working on a Science Fiction meets Spirituality novel that starts on earth and ends in space involving several planets.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I try to spread a wide net in the areas of interest regarding a specific project. I am contacting many Yoga teachers and those who love yoga for my current noel that has just been published.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what you love and don’t cater to any audience. Your unique voice is what the world is waiting to hear.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
A sketchy memory is a fiction writer’s best friend. It ties one to the truth but allows you to tell your story as well.

What are you reading now?
Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead and Living Beautifully with Uncertainty andChange by Pema Chodron.

What’s next for you as a writer?
At this point, I just want to express myself in as many ways as possible, be it as an author or a musician.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Treatise on Cosmic Fire by Alice Bailey; The Complete Works of T.S. Eliot; Go Down Moses by William Faulkner and Toni Morrison, the Song of Solomon.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a mom of 4, who’s addicted to green tea and country music.
I’ve written over 6 books by now, but just started publishing them.
There are 3 live now on all major retailers (the Men and Country collection of short stories), and my debut novel, which is inspired from the same universe is launching on June 1, 2021 and I’m so excited to finally be able to share my passion with others!
The second book of the Pink and Country series is also ready and should launch in the summer!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My last book is rather a series of short-stories called Men and Country (prequels to the book #1 of the series, Pink and Country)

Nashville and the Smoky mountains are two of my favorite places in the world, so that’s where my new series Pink and Country is taking place.
I created Green Mountain as my fictional town.

The series will count a couple of full-length novels 9all standalone that can be read in any order) that all take place in this small-town, country music set-up, and a few collections of short stories to give a voice and a backstory to the characters that don’t have a full-length novel.

If you like country music and small-town vibes, that one series to grab!

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Something I write late at night just to get a few hours for myself once the kids are in bed.

When I’m in a creative flow and my family (husband included) is too noisy, I hide in my car to write!

I can also write entire chapters on my phone wherever I am if inspiration strike. I just can’t stop the words from pouring out, and I don’t want to forget anything.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I read about anything because I like to immerse myself in so many universes.
In the last year, I’ve read a lot of Jaine Diamond and Amy Daws.

I love thriller too, but I’m not inspired to write one, at least not now.

What are you working on now?
Book #3 of the Pink and Country series

And book #1 of another series I wrote a while back and touching it up before sending it to my editor.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still learning. Hopefully Awsomegang.com and I will me a great match!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
It seems like a lot. But once you start digging, you find out a great community that can really help you out. It’s not as scary as it looks like. In the last year, I’ve learned so much stuff, I still can’t believe my brain digest all of it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
When you do what you love, just keep going and don’t stop. The rest will follow.

What are you reading now?
Love notes by Staci Hart

What’s next for you as a writer?
Publishing all my books I have on the back burner in the next couple of months, and also getting them into Audiobooks, which will be something new for me. I can’t wait to get started and hear my books being narrated.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Ride by Harper Dallas
Split Second (David Baldacci)
After (Anna Todd)
Hot Mess (Jaine Diamond)

Stuart Jones

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a championship winning race driver and professional qualified international race driver coach. I wrote extensively at school and my teachers would always be entering my scribblings into competitions. They all expected me to keep writing when I left school but once I had a steering wheel in my hands I couldn’t hold a pen at the same time. 30 years later…after traveling the colourful motor racing world I found myself desperately wanting to write again. The result was ‘The Broken Trust.’ I found as when I was a child I could happily escape into my writing but have to be careful to find my way back to reality. I quickly got into writing further tales about retired Formula One race driver Stirling Speed and ‘Who Paid The Price’ easily fell onto the page. Now I am back into the my racing line groove and really enjoying writing the third Stirling Speed instalment.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Who Paid The Price. The world of international motor racing is a rich picking ground for a writer’s inspiration. Death, money, crime, celebrity, glamour, exotic locations and wonderful characters make up this dynamic world so ideas stack up waiting to be released into words. Love it.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write better when I travel. Usually…. my life is airports, hotels and long road trips. Great for thinking and times alone to write. I tend to spend the start of the year in Western Australia and words tumble out. This is a long winded way of saying Covid has not been good for my writing!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I like fast paced punchy stories that move you into the read quickly. Short chapters that can be knocked off when ever work for me. I like descriptive writing where the atmospheres and characters drift out of the page to you. I like to enter a different world quickly.

What are you working on now?
I have been writing some poetry about famous race drivers and have started putting these up on my YouTube channel, Author Stuart Jones. I tend to write these things in the middle of the night! Not sure why. I literally wake up with an Idea and knock them off straight away! Very strange!

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am pretty poor at this but looking to learn and embrace. Instagram is easiest for me to maintain. I spend nearly every day in a different place so Instagram is easy for me to keep the content up. I have just set up a new Instagram account @authorstuartjones that I am looking to develop. I am also trying to embrace YouTube.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Love it! If you don’t love it then find a subject that you love or a situation that you love. Do not be a tortured writer. I find I look for opportunities to write because I love it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You be You. A copy is never as good as the original.

What are you reading now?
John Grisham – Camino Winds
The Biography – Niki Lauda

What’s next for you as a writer?
I have a lot of mileage to cover with my Stirling Speed series. I want to keep up my race driver poems but a new direction is to write a non-fiction book. I have worked with many a driver that reached the heights of Formula One but never became house hold names. They took the same risks, sacrifices, had huge success in the their stairway to stardom but never shone brightly. I would like to examine what catalyst was missing.

Katerina Thomas

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an entrepreneur, writer and scholar in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial resilience. I have a special interest in cognitive–behavioural therapy and disruptive technologies, particularly in artificial intelligence. An educational professional by day and writer and mentor by night, I received her PhD in philosophy from Aston University and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
My mission is to teach business owners the critical action steps needed to build entrepreneurial resilience, survive business challenges, and use powerful strategies to review, reinvent and relaunch their businesses. I am a host of the Mental Wealth for Entrepreneurs podcast, which is all about building entrepreneurial resilience and approaches to mental well-being.
My first publication was for the International Academy of Management of Technology (IAMOT) conference held in Dubai (UAE) in 2008 (as a conference proceeding paper and then an article in a peered-reviewed journal). I was doing my PhD at Aston University and was encouraged to present papers at national and international conferences. I’ve since published academic papers and book chapters on the topics of innovation and international business and now a book, Generation AI: The Rise of The Resilient Entrepreneur.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Generation AI: The Rise of The Resilient Entrepreneur.
In 2017, as a researcher with experience of running two businesses, I was asked to present an introductory talk at Global Entrepreneurship Week on a topic of my choice. I didn’t know what to present at first, but I ultimately chose to speak about automation and its effect on jobs. A few years earlier, I had travelled to Malta as a researcher to learn how to bridge education and the skills demands of the workplace, and I was aware of the central importance of the topic of automation and how employers’ requirements in this area were not being fulfilled by providers of education. What I have learned since has not only changed my perception of education but also opened my mind to what the future might hold. My rationale for writing the book is to provide a concise but comprehensive research-based outline of the challenges we’re facing.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I usually write late at night after my son who is 5 years old goes to bed and it’s quiet. My typical writing hours are between 8 pm and 11 pm. Usually, after my writing, I practice Manga drawing for an hour or so.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Seth Godin’s books The Icarus Deception, Free Prize Inside!, Linchpin, Purple Cow and The Practice gave me courage to get unstuck, innovate and share my creative work. They have been a great inspiration.

What are you working on now?
My next book is for people who want to become entrepreneurs or become more resilient in their existing business. The number one question people ask is how they can be more successful in their business. Running a business can create strong emotional states and intrusive symptoms that can derail your effectiveness as an entrepreneur. I know this from my experience of running an e-commerce business. Being aware of your vulnerabilities is the first step in identifying the ways to manage them. Entrepreneurship has many challenges, and there is no one way to tackle all of them. Entrepreneurs always try to put their best foot forward. However, just like one person’s experience may be completely different from another person’s, so is yours. To acknowledge your insecurity is to accept your vulnerability. There is no more significant challenge than to change one’s behaviour and mindset. It’s a humbling experience to take stock of your strengths and weaknesses as an entrepreneur. Once you do, it opens the door to a host of better future success options, including who you need around you to overcome your weaknesses. If you search the book marketplace today, you’ll see titles like Starting A Business: A 7-Step System To Successfully Launch Your Own Business In 30 Days, How to Succeed by Creating Your Own Business, The Lean Start-Up, Online Business – How to Start an Online Business in 30 Days or Less, How To Be an Overnight Success, How to Start-up Money Without Any Money. The list goes on and on. These so-called business and marketing gurus like telling how to be a success whilst they fail over and over again. In reality, most entrepreneurs start repeatedly again before they realise their vision of a successful start-up. The book will show you how you can readily identify these cognitive biases so that you can actively avoid them and make better decisions to help you in your entrepreneurship journey. You can signup to be notified when the book is available at www.katerinathomas.com/books

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I think it’s very individual and depends on your book’s audience and genre. You need to be selective regarding your marketing platform and spend energy on social media channels that are likely to have an audience interested in the topic of your writing.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just start writing and practice writing every day, and you’ll get there.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Seth Godin’s advice on how to ship your creative work, and that the Imposter syndrome simply means that you are a well-adjusted human.

What are you reading now?
Artificial You: AI and the Future of Your Mind book by Susan Schneider.

What’s next for you as a writer?
After my next book about cognitive biases and entrepreneurial decision-making, I’d love to write a fiction trilogy.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
This is a tough question. I’d like to bring a paper and a pen so I could write. But if I had to bring books with me, I’d probably bring a couple of fiction sci-fi novels.
