Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I absolutely love the written word! Writing is cathartic for me, the darker the story, the better. Creating a story is painting with words. In a well-written piece of work, each word is a carefully placed brushstroke. To date, I’ve written two novels, both psychological thrillers.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My most recent book is titled “How a Monster is Made”. It is a prequel to my first novel, “Hidden in the Dark”. In the first story, each main character had a voice, except for the antagonist, Randall Carter. My newest book tells the story of Randall’s childhood. I wanted to know what happened to Randall to cause him to be such a bad guy. I went in with no real idea of his background. His experiences unfolded before me in increments as I wrote.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I usually write in the morning, before everyone is awake. I have a houseful of kids and dogs, which doesn’t always lend for a quiet environment. Usually, I will binge write then let it sit for a few days before editing. Coming back with fresh eyes for the editing process is valuable.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I fell in love with Anne Rice’s work, but not the Vampire series. The Mayfair Witch series blew me away. My writing isn’t nearly as descriptive as Anne Rice’s, however, she really moved me in a way that no author had previously. Her attention to detail and the amount of research that she put into each work inspires me to this day.

Stephen King is another favorite. Rose Madder stayed with me for weeks. I was pleased to learn that he is also a ‘pantser’ like myself. I could not create an outline to save my life. Encouraged by his method of writing, to create the character and then see what kind of trouble they could get into, gave me hope that I could indeed write a book.

What are you working on now?
I’m currently playing with the idea of my third book – a story inspired by the amazing, strong, and crazy women that I know. Of course, there will be death and darkness. I’m hoping to through a good heaping of dark humor into the recipe.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’ve had a decent amount of success through reading groups and book clubs. So far, I’ve chosen to use KDP Select. I like that I’m able to offer my ebook for free for a certain number of days. I’m always searching for new ways to promote without breaking the bank.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write your first draft without a critical voice. You can always edit later. I work very hard to tap into my free-spirited side when I initially tell the story, then bring out my analytical side for editing. Using the ‘read aloud’ option is priceless when editing. All the rough spots are apparent when you hear the words spoken.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Just do it. You don’t need anyone else’s permission to follow your dreams.

What are you reading now?
Big Little Lies. Finally! And I’m loving it.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m working on a third novel and have ideas for future works of fiction. I’m getting better at managing my time and would love to support my family with my writing career.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Tools of Titans by Tim Ferriss, Rose Madder by Stephen King, SAS Survival Handbook, Third Edition: The Ultimate Guide to Surviving Anywhere by John ‘Lofty’ Wiseman, and a blank journal.

William Shatspeare

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
William Shatspeare is a pen name that Tim McGettigan invented as the nom de guerre for his first science fiction novel, Captain Quark and the Time Cheaters.

Tim McGettigan, PhD is a professor of sociology at Colorado State University – Pueblo and he has been writing nonfiction for thirty years (~10 books). Prof Tim views writing as a way of inventing new modes of thinking that can transform fantasies into reality and make the impossible possible.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My most recent book is titled, Captain Quark and the Time Cheaters. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0863KH3PH/

The inspiration for this book  have taken the liberty of drawing characters and inspiration from a wide range of science fiction universes. Just as it took every hero in the Marvel Universe to defeat Thanos, it will require a big tent of beloved superheroes to defeat Captain Quark’s arch-nemesis: the evil, orange-skinned menace, Uranus Blowhard (aka, Donald Trump). My hope is that, by searching for new ways to work together, puny humans will find the hope and strength that they need to make the future a better place.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t know how unusual this is, but I compose books in my head before I commit them to writing. I often have several books in production at a time. I work them while taking long walks. Sometimes up to five hours at a time.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Strangely enough, Richard Feynman’s corpus has had the greatest influence on me recently. I have spent the past 15 years trying to make sense of the truly bizarre alternate universe of quantum mechanics. I teach science, technology and society, so I spend lots of time trying to explain to non-science majors how quantum mechanics has revolutionized every aspect of the human experience. Among other things, I am hopeful that Captain Quark will help students grasp the enormity of the quantum revolution.

What are you working on now?
I am composing a follow-up to Captain Quark. The new book is titled The Entropists and, briefly, it’s a quantum-jumping adventure that explores the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’ve had the most success, thus far, with Artisan Book Reviews.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Make it happen. If you’ve got a book in you, then you’ve got to write it. You can’t worry about whether people will like, or accept your work. The only thing that matters is that, when it’s ready, you need to get that thing written.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Live each day as if it were your last. No regrets.

What are you reading now?
The history of science and studies of scientific cosmology.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ve written nonfiction for the past thirty years, and I look forward to writing science fiction for the next thirty.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Lord of the Rings, Huckleberry Finn, War and Peace

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
It is always easier to pen down a description of something else. Well, that’s what I master, I am a content writer, a blogger, a poetess, a biotechnologist and sometimes just a determined women. I have been writing since I was in 8th standard, continuously building an Adobe with my words. I have contributed in one book. It’s an anthology called as “Bonmot Yarns”. This book was my first feature. I am working on my own storyline now, but it will take a while to complete.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book was an anthology, a collection of poetry which was compiled by Randhir Kaur. It is available on Amazon. The book is titled as “Bonmot Yarns”. I am a featured poet in this collection.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Oh yes!! Speaking of unusual habits, I have plenty. I am a dreamer, a late night puller. Sometimes I wake up in middle of the night to write down some points. I am a person who prefers diaries and pencils over typing anyday. My thoughts are dark. I write about sadness more and express it in an all together different extent.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I am a reader, I also love to write book reviews on my personal page. Recently I finished the second book of a book series known as “Red Queen”. One of it’s popular quote says “anyone can betray anyone” and i have never heard a more realistic quote.
I have also felt highly influenced by thrill novels by Author’s such as Sidney Sheldon and Agatha Christie. The books by these authors have always strike a different chord with me.
I love Sudha Murthy and Twinkle Khanna in the Indian authors.

What are you working on now?
I am working on a story currently published in parts on my Blog. I have built an idea for my novel, a name is yet in thought process.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“You just have to keep going. Just trust yourself, your capabilities, stop comparing yourself with others and keep doing a little better every passing day”.

What are you reading now?
I am reading the third book from Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard. I am also reading “3000 stitches” by Sudha Murthy on kindle.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Writer’s never stop. There’s always something. For now, i would say, time will tell.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
“Big little Lies”, ” and then, there were none” and “looking for alaska”

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I live in the Atlanta suburbs with my husband and our pets. When I am not writing, I am often writing in my head… which often leads to strange looks from my spouse.

I love writing about things that make me smile—the chemistry between men, in particular. Sex plays a big part in these relations, but love wins out more so with my enjoyment of telling these stories… as in life.

I like to write about men, being men, and falling in love with men. And I love a happy ending.

TRUE (Tales of the Circle Book 1) is my first m/m romance novel, but two more are in development. I have also written a horror novel under the pen name T.W. Smith.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
TRUE (Tales of the Circle Book 1) was inspired by a fantasy I once had… I wanted to isolate myself in a cabin on a Montana mountain and do nothing but write. The novel germinated from that concept into something much more interesting though.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I suspect many do this, but when re-writing and polishing, I read the novel aloud so I can hear the cadence and flow.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
A lot. Armistead Maupin immediately comes to mind. His TALES OF THE CITY books sing to me. Stephen King is an immense talent. I am jealous of Anne Rice’s prose. Also David Sedaris, Stephen McCauley, Jay Quinn, Edmund White, Michael Cunningham, Flanner O’ Connor, James Baldwin, Truman Capote, and Tennessee Williams. Really, it’s countless… this is just the top layer.

What are you working on now?
I am working on SECRET SERVICE (Tales of the Circle Book 2). This one centers on Demarco, a secondary character from the first novel.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
This is all relatively new to me. But I have been overwhelmed with the positive support of several folks I have met via Facebook in m/m romance groups. So, I will probably promote on Facebook for sure.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what YOU like… what YOU want to read. You will find that there are many others out there who will want to read it too. Fall in love with your characters and others will too. The story will evolve from your characters, you can plot a little… but once your characters come to life, they’re going to tell you where to go.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write with the door closed. Rewrite with the door open. –Stephen King

What are you reading now?
IF IT BLEEDS by Stephen King

What’s next for you as a writer?
I write under 2 pen names, Timothy Warren (m/m romance) and T.W. Smith (horror). I have published the first novel for both, the initial entry of their respective series. I am currently hard at work on the second novels for both.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
THE STAND by Stephen King. I AM LEGEND by Richard Matheson. TALES OF THE CITY by Armistead Maupin. INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE by Anne Rice. GIOVANNI’S ROOM by James Baldwin. If I could take a series of books, I would take TALES OF THE CITY (Maupin) and THE DARK TOWER (King). Wait! What about OTHER VOICES, OTHER ROOMS (Capote) and A GOOD MAN IS HARD TO FIND (O’Connor)? This is impossible!

Wendy Jensen

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a veterinarian trained and certified in veterinary homeopathy by the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy (training through the Pitcairn Institute of Veterinary Homeopathy). I graduated from the Cornell School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987, and after three years of conventional practice, discovered homeopathy. I began a 100% homeopathic house call practice in 1994 and have not looked back! In addition to the Practical Handbook, I co-authored the New World Veterinary Repertory with Dr. Richard Pitcairn. I am also a semi-professional violinist and an avid runner. An Army brat, I grew up in three different countries, but I’m happiest in the deciduous forests of our East Coast.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Practical Handbook of Veterinary Homeopathy: Healing Our Companion Animals from the Inside Out is my latest book. It was derived from lectures given to beginning homeopathic veterinarians who wanted to hone their skills and gain a greater understanding of homeopathic concepts as laid out by Dr. Samual Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy. I realized that if our clients had this information, they would be better partners in the effort to improve the health of their companion animals. So the book was written to be helpful for any person who wanted to deepen their understanding and be a more successful collaborator in the veterinary examination room. The book has also been made required reading in the Professional Course in Veterinary Homeopathy.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I keep a small notebook in my backpack that goes everywhere with me, and at any quiet moment (riding the bus to rehearsals), you might see me scribbling new ideas or refining old ones.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Annie Dillard is an amazing writer who really knows how to put on paper what is deep inside. I admire her in particular. And Samual Hahnemann, who wrote the Organon in the 1800’s, cared so deeply about his patients that he left the practice of medicine until he could figure out how to really cure. I followed his path, and will be grateful to him forever for showing the way.

What are you working on now?
Now I am working on a novel about a young woman working in the animal protection field who is also struggling in an abusive relationship. The courage she gains from her colleagues at work, and the respect she sees them showing even the “least” of the animals, gives her the strength to save herself.
I’m also working on a companion textbook to the Organon, which is the book that lays out the philosophical underpinnings of homeopathy. I am working with each aphorism (each teaching point) in this work, and adding in examples from my practice to illustrate the concepts. It will help bring homeopathy to life for both experienced practitioners as well as animal lovers.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I teach, and this book is an invaluable aid. This includes my student veterinarians as well as my clients. I also lecture at conferences.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what you know, and what you love. Do a little every day, even if it’s just journaling. And get out and move in the open air regularly. Allow your mind to relax into nature.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Do what you love, and the rest will follow. Honor your inner person, and respect everybody else’s, as much as is possible.

What are you reading now?
The Genius of Birds by Jennifer Ackerman.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Developing my fiction writing and sending out to magazines.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Organon by Samuel Hahnemann, The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, The Alienist by Caleb Carr, and Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard.

Hi! I’m Talhí, I was born in Chile but grew up in Montréal, Canada. Hieroglyphs (Book 1) is the first part of a trilogy, and the first novel I published, but not the only book! Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an author who believes in the power of entrepreneurship to bring changes to the world. I am also a proponent of living in the moment as the quickest means for people to find happiness in their lives.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my last book is “You can be Extraordinary, but Will you?” It was inspired by the teeming numbers of people I see especially in Africa, just putting in the time, until the big bang. Most people are suffering because, they refuse to find a purpose to die for. They can create a dream and go out to practice in this theater called life. Albeit, you can surmount any obstacle by developing the right tools in your tool box like a master technician to solve any life’s problems.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write mostly at night time, because that’s when my creative powers are at the highest ebb.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Choose yourself by James Althucher and Born for this by Chris Guilleabeau

What are you working on now?
I am working on my third book that has to do with the power of making preparation before adversity strikes. It was inspired by the current Covid-19 pandemic that caught the world napping.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
That should be awesome gang. They also give me a platform to reach readers by doing this interview

Do you have any advice for new authors?
They should read broadly across all genre as well as engage experienced authors.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Pride goes before the fall. And let he that thinks he stand take heed lest he falls.

What are you reading now?
Timeless classic: Think and grow rich

What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to start a website to encourage people to become entrepreneurs and writers.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve been a San Francisco-based author since 2010. Now, I’m living in the PNW and loving it. I’ve worked as an assistant editor for a boutique publisher (Lakewater Press) and a staff writer for a growing production company (Theme Parkology) creating documentaries and podcast programs for the company. Aside from writing novels, as an award-winning playwright, I enjoy spending time developing my ideas into adaptations for stage and screen.

Likes: Fun socks, tattoos, predictable romance novels, gardening, art, everything rainbow, boating, and Nirvana (okay, that last one is a LOVE).

Dislikes: The feel of newsprint on my fingers, Twizzlers, using a hammer, ironing, litter, cold soups, fluorescent lighting, and Good and Plenty.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I have books two and three of The Strega Series currently in editing with Foster Embry Publishing and set to release within the next year. But my latest book is a YA contemporary fantasy titled, PLAYING CUPID, and will be released by Parliament House Publishing in February of 2021. I was inspired to write Playing Cupid during one Valentine’s Day season and taking my daughter out to practice driving. She kept hitting curbs, and for some reason I couldn’t get it out of my head about what would happen if she hit cupid with her car.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t know about unusual, but I like to hunker down in my office with my headphones and listen to music while I write.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love Anne Rice, Laurell K. Hamilton, Jack Kerouac, Tracy Wolfe, Aiden Thomas, and Jenny Han. Oh, and Angie Thomas. But really, there are so many more.

What are you working on now?
Currently, I have a couple things going on. I’m working on an adult horror novel as well as a follow up to Playing Cupid. I’m also working on a script for a television drama. It’s an adaptation of Vicki-Ann Bush’s THE DUSK CHRONICLES.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m always on Twitter. If anyone ever needed to contact me, that’s probably your best best. But when it comes to book promotion, the best way to find out is either through my Facebook Page or directly on my website.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep at it. Most of authoring is perseverance. And don’t be afraid to ask questions. Reach out to authors, agents, and editors and ask those questions. There are tons of opportunities on Twitter to interact and learn, so find your writing tribe and go to them for support.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If you think that you’d like to pursue writing, then pursue it. Be flexible and don’t give up.

What are you reading now?
Right now, I just finished Tracy Wolfe’s CRAVE, and I loved it! I’m gonna read it again. Then, I have a couple of romance novels I’m gonna give a try.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I just contracted to write couple of short animations for a production company that writes Disney’s nostalgia, so I’ll be working on those next. I also have my pilot show in a couple of contests, so we’ll see where that goes.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Hmmm, that’s a tough one, but I think I’d go with The Witching Hour by Anne Rice, On the Road by Jack Kerouack, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling, and The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, which flooded shortly after my birth. I grew up in the Allegheny Mountain range where skiing was fun and property values stayed low. Everything happened in a “burgh” or a township. Few people stayed and most left for the big city. Blackberries, blueberries and other wild berries were picked often and tossed into a bucket hanging from my neck. I sold nightcrawlers from an old tub buried three feet in the ground. Brickyards, steel mills and coal paid the bills. I became nobody in a space for somebody writing about something most people will ignore. I live in the west, sing songs about Christianity and watch the world melt around me. God is good and people scare me. The valley of death shines in the evening light, glistening on the horizon.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
KAKO HellCniht – A Demon Speaks
I have been researching and writing this off and on for the past ten years. Many happenings in this world validate the on-going spiritual battle. Captivated by history and current events and their convergence made the writing of this story fun and exciting.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Being new to authorship in the book arena, I am not sure if my habits are unusual, but I am extremely descriptive and sometimes write the action before the subject of the action.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
The Holy Bible, Christian non-fiction and fiction, history of the world and psychology.

What are you working on now?
The next 3 books in the HellCniht series.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t be afraid to publish on your own.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Holy Bible, The Field and Forest Handy Book and 2 empty notebooks.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
With my latest book, I’ve written three novels, two short story collections, and a novella.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Typo Squad Book III: The Typo Alliance. I was very inspire to write it because Typo Squad Book II: Return of the Wordmonger ended on a cliffhanger and my fans were eager for resolution.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I tend to write in micro-bursts, so anytime I have a spare five or 10 minutes, I’ll write furiously and then piece everything together later.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Certainly as far as writing style goes, I owe everything to JK Rowling. She was the first author I ever read who just told the story without backfilling or endless tedious side stories.

What are you working on now?
Right now I’m taking a quick breather, and then I plan to rewrite and expand my holiday novella, Belle’s Christmas Carol.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Prolific Works. When you upload your work to Prolific Works, you agree to give it away for free, but it really expands your potential audience.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Finish it! Of the authors I know, 99% of them have pieces that are half done or three-quarters done, and they all say, “Yeah, I’ll get around to finishing that one of these days.” No! Finish it now! Better to have a drawer full of completed works than bits and pieces that will never see the light of day.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The first draft is for you. The second draft is for your readers. The final draft is for everyone.

What are you reading now?
Harry Potter. For the eleventy-billionth time.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m not sure. That’s one of the great things about being a writer. You never know what tomorrow will bring!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Only 3 or 4?

Wilbur Arron is the pseudonym for a retired professional engineer who spent over thirty years in engineering and over forty years in technical management. An avid reader of fantasy and science fiction since a child, he always wanted to take up writing. Now in his retirement he finally has his chance. His interests also include ancient history, especially in the Greco-Roman period, the history of science and engineering, space travel and its problems, and fiction writing. He has spoken at many Worldcons around the world on the use of science and engineering in science fiction, and the history of science. He is the current author of a three books series of fantasy which takes place in a world similar to Ancient Greece. The first two, ‘The Forest of Allund,’ and ‘The Laughing Gods,’ are already available on Kindle. The third book, ‘Demigod,’ will be published in the fall.

He has previously published a series of stories on many web-based sites of fiction and fan fiction. This is his first novel.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The author has two books, ‘The Forest of Allund,’ and ‘The Laughing Gods.’ Several things inspired him. The first was the use of magic with its total disregard on the laws of physics. While the use of magic-like power is possible within the laws of physics, some aspects like teleportation, creation of matter from nothing, and movement of objects across space and time have serious problems. The magic system in the author’s books are based solely on energy manipulation and it manifestation into various forms of useful work.

A second item was the lack of real fantasy stories about Ancient Greece. Most of the stories you see revolve around some big dude in a bronze jockstrap beating the crap out of some monster and saving helpless woman. This was NOT Ancient Greece. I The author wanted to bring more of that society into the story and bring in elements that run counter to the preconceived image of a Greek Hero. To this end the author has a blog on his web page that outlines various aspects of normal, everyday life in Ancient Greece.

Another inspiration is the work of the great Japanese Animation figure Hayao Miyazaki. I like his epic tales where the animation and the fantastic elements in the animation do not interfere with the story, but only enhance it.
