Awesome Author - Anna Abner

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hello! I’m a paranormal romance and YA author from sunny southern California. I’ve written two adult paranormal series, The Dark Casters and The Beasts of Vegas, as well as a YA zombie series, The Red Plague. Writing about witches, vampires, zombies, and shifters is my absolute passion, and I can’t wait to share my stories with you.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest release is Spellspeaker’s Prophecy (Beasts of Vegas #2) coming out April 2018.

Witch on the fritz Roz Carrera rescues a shapeshifter from the vampire horde. They’ll need all the help they can get to destroy Maksim Volk and his infected army. For good.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m sure I do all sorts of odd things, but one unusual thing I do after I’ve completed the first draft of a novel is print and bind a hard copy which I then go over with a fine-toothed comb (as well as pens and markers). I actually catch a lot more mistakes when I see the story printed than on a computer screen.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
There are honestly too many to count! But the authors who’ve influenced both my desire to write and my writing style are Lisa Kleypas, Victoria Holt, J.R. Ward, and Kresley Cole.

What are you working on now?
Currently, I’m knee deep in novels in the Beasts of Vegas series. I’ve finished rough drafts on Blooddrinker’s Prophecy #3, Shapeshifter’s Prophecy #4, and Fortuneteller’s Prophecy #5. I’m also kicking around the idea of returning to the Red Plague series and adding another story.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
The best way to promote, after lots of trial and error, are giveaways and Kindle free book promotions (coupled with lots of newsletter blasts). If readers like your free book, they’ll be more likely to read your entire backlist.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing! Never stop doing what you love. Every story you finish will make you a better writer.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The same advice, really. LOL. Never stop writing. Never stop improving your craft.

What are you reading now?
I’m reading Juliet Takes a Breath by Gabby Rivera, Everything Everything by Nicola Yoo, and The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m exploring audiobook narration as well as writing gay erotica under the pen name Sadie West. I’m excited about all the prospects for writers right now.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I assume I’d have a lot of free time on the island, so I’d have to take my two all-time favorite paranormal romances: No Rest for the Wicked by Kresley Cole and Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward. I could read them over and over and never grow tired of them. Plus, I’d bring The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins because that too is a great book to read more than once.

Awesome Author - Roan Parrish

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Roan Parrish lives in Philadelphia, where she is gradually attempting to write love stories in every genre.

When not writing, she can usually be found cutting her friends’ hair, meandering through whatever city she’s in while listening to torch songs and melodic death metal, or cooking overly elaborate meals. She loves bonfires, winter beaches, minor chord harmonies, and self-tattooing. One time she may or may not have baked a six-layer chocolate cake and then thrown it out the window in a fit of pique.

Awesome Author - Avery Doyle

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hello, My name is Avery. I’m a mother, an editor, and a food enthusiast. This is my first book.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The book is called “Dip!: Fun, tasty, easy dips made with ingredients you probably have on hand. ” These are all my own recipes – tweaked and tested in my own kitchen, and photographed here as well. We had a lot of fun trying these out! And then I hid the bathroom scale.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Do other people get cream cheese and tomato salsa on their laptop when they’re working? Is that unusual? (I’m guessing no.) How about getting jalapeno in your eye, and squinting like a pirate while you update the text?

What authors, or books have influenced you?
As an editor, I work on a lot of cookbooks. I appreciate and gravitate to the ones that use ingredients the common species of parent is likely to have on hand. By common, I guess I mean like me. 🙂

What are you working on now?
For my next trick, I’m thinking about making a pizza book, or a book about weeknight supper hacks. I would like to make a recipe book about lentils, but everyone hates those…

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Well, Awesome Gang is…awesome!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Sit down, and write about the things that make you feel good. No, sit down. Really. You need to sit. And write. Now do that a lot.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Miss Piggy said “Never eat more than you can lift.” That’s good advice right there.

What are you reading now?
Neverwhere, by Neil Gaiman

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m also an editor, so that takes a good deal of my working time. I have two novels I swear I will finish…one of these days.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’m an Outlander fan, but I guess that’s too many books. Anything by Stephen King, or Phillipa Gregory, or Joanna Bourne, or Barbara Erskine…

Hey, can I be on a dessert island? That sounds like my sort of place.

Awesome Author - Anna Ryan

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am 24 years old and live in Wanganui, New Zealand. When I am not writing, I am either marketing my books, reading or causing havoc with my friends.

I love writing in the horror and crime genres, but enjoy reading anything from Stephen King to Sophie Kinsella; Agatha Christie and Jodi Picoult. If I were to name all of my favourite authors, we would be here for a very long time.

I love cats, coffee and chocolate. I love Green Day – they are my favourite band of all time. While I am writing this, I am listening to Dua Lipa, so my musical taste is quite diverse. I also have a semi-addiction to Instagram (@annaryanbooks, if you’re also semi-addicted to Insta). I find myself scrolling and scrolling, looking at pictures when I should be sleeping or working.

Anyway, as you can see, I got off on tangents quite often.

I also love pies. If you come from NZ, you will understand!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The latest book I have written is called “Amelia” and it’s the first novel in The Sly and Hokey Detective Series.

The inspiration for the book stems from me wanting to get inside the head of a person that would want to kidnap a teenager (you’ll have to read the book to find out more). Also, there influence from the great, Agatha Christie.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I can only write effectively when I am listening to Green Day (21st Century Breakdown, American Idiot, Revolution Radio, Bullet in a Bible, and International Superhits are my go-to’s). On occasion, I will also listen to Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Good Charlotte, Tom Petty (and a few more) just to change it up a bit.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Stephen King, Agatha Christie, Shirley Jackson, Jodi Picoult, JK Rowling, Suzanne Collins.

What are you working on now?
I am currently editing the second book in The Sly and Hokey Detective Series.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My website is currently under construction, but I would say Facebook, Amazon and Goodreads.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing and promoting your books. The only authors that succeed are the ones that work hard and never give up.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
One of my friends said to me (we have the tall-poppy syndrome in NZ where we don’t really like to say that we are great at something): ‘Why can’t there be one thing in this world that you can say that you’re great at, and be confident and proud saying it?’

What are you reading now?
I’m reading Duma Key by Stephen King. (I’ve almost finished it, though).

What’s next for you as a writer?
To get my website finished and up and running; and to keep writing and promoting my books.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Girl, Interrupted
Duma Key
And Then There Were None
My Not So Perfect Life

Awesome Author - Caroline Adair

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
This is my debut novel, although I have been writing stories since I was eight years old. I dreamed of being a romance novelist, but I admit that I didn’t quite have the courage until now.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
What Broken Dolls Do was inspired first by the Women’s March on Washington. It was the most amazing experience of my life. I saw all those strong women and was reminded of the amazing women in my life. They go through life with a smile on their face, but inside they are broken.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write to opera.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I read an astounding amount of books. I can’t really pinpoint any particular author that has influenced me, except for ALL of them.

What are you working on now?
The sequel to this book. I want it perfect.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My husband is my best promoter. He is so proud of me.

Do you have any advice for new authors?

Awesome Author - Tom Breuer

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve written four books. Three I co-wrote and published with Nation Books. This is my first foray into self-publishing. (I needed a shorter lead time for publishing a book about Trump, who is a moving target, to say the least.)

My first three books were “Sweet Jesus, I Hate Bill O’Reilly,” “Fair and Balanced, My Ass! An Unbridled Look at the Bizarre Reality of Fox News” and “Brotherhood of the Disappearing Pants: A Field Guide to Conservative Sex Scandals.”

I wrote my latest under a pseudonym, because Trump is f*cking crazy.

I’m a big political junkie and a dyed-in-the-wool liberal.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“Dear F*cking Lunatic: 101 Obscenely Rude Letters to Donald Trump.”

Donald Trump’s daily insanity inspired it, but the proximate inspiration was a viral post I wrote for Daily Kos. It was titled “Dear F*cking Lunatic: An Open Letter to Donald Trump” and received almost 90,000 Facebook shares, while generating a lot of activity on Twitter and elsewhere.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Nothing too unusual. I drank a lot of high-octane coffee and Red Bull while writing my latest book to get into a Trump-hatin’ trance.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Al Franken influenced me tremendously when it comes to writing political humor. Appearing on his radio show — and hearing him call my book “hilariously snarky” — was the professional thrill of my life.

What are you working on now?
Mulling a sequel to “Dear F*cking Lunatic.” Working title: “Dear F*cking Moron: 101 More Rude Letters to Donald Trump.”

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Just started promoting my book. It came out in early April. So far I’ve seen the most success from writing fresh material on Daily Kos.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write for the thrill and joy of it — and because you have no other choice (you’re a writer). If your book finds sells a ton of copies, that’s just gravy.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t put that peppercorn in your ear.

What are you reading now?
The Human Stain by Philip Roth. (Sometimes I need to get away from the politics of the day.) One book I recently read that inspired me to start writing humor again was “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” by Jenny Lawson. Brilliant.

What’s next for you as a writer?
More political humor. Got to do it.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Catch-22
Rush Limbaugh Is a Big Fat Idiot
Slaughterhouse-Five
Something really big for lighting signal fires

Awesome Author - Felix Long

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a Technical Writer by trade. I work with clients in academia and the IT industry to transform important and complex information into clearly understood messages.
To Conquer Heaven is my first book.
Habnab will be out in September 2018.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
To Conquer Heaven was sparked into being by a brilliant National Geographic documentary on the lost tomb of the First Emperor of China.
A gorgeous, immaculately groomed Chinese-French lady read aloud a passage of Sima Qian’s “Annals of the Grand Historian”. It is the only textual reference to the lost tomb.
“Replicas of palaces, scenic towers, and the hundred officials, as well as rare utensils and wonderful objects, were brought to fill up the tomb. Craftsmen were ordered to set up crossbows and arrows rigged to shoot down any intruder. Mercury was used to fashion imitations of the hundred rivers and the Yangtze, constructed in such a way that they seemed to flow.”
She looked up at the camera, breaking the fourth wall, and whispered “it sounds so exciting”.
I was enthralled by a sophisticated, glamourous academic who could not wait to cast off the Lacroix and grab a Fedora and a whip. That excitement led me on a journey of research and discovery where plausible conjecture and Mythbusters science laid a new tale across ancient ones.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have a red jasper stone and a lava lamp near me when I write. It works for me.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
HP Lovecraft
JRR Tolkien
PG Wodehouse
Barbara Kingsolver
China Mielville
Neil Gaiman
Chuck Wendig

What are you working on now?
My second novel is called Habnab …
What if the Fae really did take your baby leaving one of their own disguised in its place?

Molly and Diego have brought their lovely baby Bridie from Boston to Ireland in pursuit of their dreams; Diego will transform his failed thesis into a best–selling novel and Molly will transform an ornamental building into a dream home, just as soon as she moves that stone in the garden.

It was all going so well …

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Why this one of course! Thank you so much for the service you provide.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Your apprenticeship will be long, difficult, and there is no money in it. Not for a long time.
So go and have a life. Have some adventures. Get a good paying job. Then write.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Write as much as you can, as fast as you can, finish your shit, hit your deadlines, and try hard not to suck.” Chuck Wendig – the Sweary Soothsayer himself.
I strongly recommend following his blog Terrible Minds – http://terribleminds.com/ramble

What are you reading now?
Philip Pullman – The Book of Dust. I loved the His Dark Materials trilogy.
And Mr Pullman himself is a great champion of writers and our endless struggle to make a living.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Five more novels … all mapped out.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
JRR Tolkien’s The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
I had the accidental good fortune to read them in that order, the order in which Tolkien intended them to be read.

Awesome Author - Cathy Sharp

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Cathy Sharp, however I write under the name Catherine Sharp. I’ve written three books, two romances and one murder mystery. The first book is a romance, Untamed Heart, which is a western romance, the second book is also a romance, Viking’s Passion, and the most recent is a murder mystery/thriller, Blood Lust. I’m a retired Flight Attendant. I flew for two major commercial airlines and one private for 40 plus years. A couple of years ago I decided I had had enough of being a vagabond and wanted to stay home and spend more time with my family, so I gave up hotels and living out of a suitcase and embraced the ‘staycation way of life . It was an all around good decision. My oldest son was recently engaged and they will probably get married in Scotland, so I will definitely be traveling to see him get married, but the most traveling I do these days is to Los Angeles, where he lives, to visit him. My youngest son lives in the Dallas area, so no traveling is involved. As you’ve guessed, I live in the Dallas area with my husband and two dogs. My youngest son has a one year old little girl, so I’m a happy grandmother. I’m an avid reader, which I’m sure shocks no one. I love to read romance and murder mysteries. Mysteries/thrillers are my latest obsession. I can’t seem to get enough of them. I have a website, http://catherinesharp.webs.com, and I would love to hear from all of you out there and of course would invite you to try my books. I certainly hope if you do, that you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them. So, enough about me. Happy reading all.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is a murder myster/thriller, Blood Lust. I wrote it because I am fascinated with serial killers. The way their mind works and the detectives who hunt them. They have to mentally spar with these madman so they can be hunted down and prevented from continuing their evil ways. What is also remarkable about these killers, is that they look so benign. They are your next door neighbor, your mail carrier, or the guy walking down the street. They usually look quite nice, not like the monster you conceive them to be. So, my fascination with these serial killers like Ted Bundy inspired the book.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I guess the most unusual habit is that I don’t pre-think the book. I don’t outline the story. I just grab the first line to two in my head and then go for it. It’s just like I am watching a movie in my head.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Karin Slaughter, Willow Rose, and Greg Olsen, and Morgan Hannah MacDonald have influenced me in the murder mystery genre. My main influence in the romance genre has to have been Johanna Lindsey. She was my all time favorite romance author.

What are you working on now?
I’m working on a sort of auto-biography of my flying years. So many weird and hysterical things happened while I was flying. I’m trying to put them into words on paper.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
That’s a very good question. I’m still trying to find out the best way to promote my books without spending a fortune.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep on trying and don’t give up. It’s not as easy as just writing a book. You have to keep on going and going.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You must have a VERY thick skin. You can’t get your feelings hurt when someone or even a lot of someones say something hurtful about what you’ve written. It’s hard to hear, but if you’ve written something, anything, you WILL hear negative criticism.

What are you reading now?
I’m reading a novel by Willow Rose.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Just trying to finish up this book about my flying years. It’s not quite as easy as I thought it would be. Writing about things that really happened seem much more challenging than making things up in my head. I hope I can get it finished. I’m much more composed with fiction.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Shogun, Gone with the Wind, a new Murder Mystery and a new romance that I haven’t read.

Awesome Author - Stephen Thorpe

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
There’s not enough time in the day for me. I love spending time with my kids, either watching them perform or just doing things with them. I love pretty much every sport I’ve tried – still need to try curling 🙂 I love landscaping and hiking. I love drawing and digital design, and I love to write. I love being around people, and I love spending time alone. I love to learn new things. I’ve only written one book, but it was a crazy fun adventure. I’ve had so much fun visiting schools and sharing some of what I’ve learned in the process.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my book is Cathedral of Time. It’s book one in the World of Agartha series.
I had been thinking about creating a video game that would merge my love for Roman history with my love for art and gaming. I began to outline the storyline of the video game with all its different levels and when I finished, I looked at the word count and told my wife, “I think I’m actually writing a book first.”

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I love to listen to audio books by other authors, as well as author forums while doing yardwork. I get lots of ideas while working and get anxious to return to my office to start transferring the inspiration to my books.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
J.K. Rowling, Brandon Sanderson, and Rick Riordan are the three that have influenced me the most.

What are you working on now?
Book two in the World of Agartha series, titled Pyramid of Skulls, is at about 85% completion for the first draft. I’m planning for a late 2018 release. I’m also continuing to move forward with the development for the various levels of the video game, which I’m planning to put on Kickstarter in late 2018 as well.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a philanthropist, pastor-scholar, and educational theorist who loves to write! I just realeased my first book this month and I am working on my second thanks to a contract with Wipf and Stock Publishers.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My first release is entitled “My First Year in the Anglican Order of Preachers: A Postulant’s Tale.” My first academic year of Dominican studies was simply such a blessing that I wanted to share it with as many people as I could!

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I do my best writing in the middle of the night.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
As a Christian theologian, no book has influenced more than the Bible itself. My methodology has been largely guided by Richard Osmer’s “Practical Theology: An Introduction” and the collective works of the late Anglican cleric John Wesley.

What are you working on now?
My upcoming book is entitled “The Endangering Church: Exposing Three Lies Rooted in the Ground of Truth” and was inspired by my doctoral research from Northcentral University. For a sneak peak at the book, please check out my blog at: https://theendangeringchurch.blogspot.com/

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
https://www.librarything.com/

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just write, put yourself out there, and trust the process!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You can’t succeed if you don’t try.

What are you reading now?
The Gift of Being Yourself: The Sacred Call to Self-Discovery by David G. Benner.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I am hoping to win a Christian Book Award through the ECPA.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
My Bible, a dictionary, and a DC comic book!

Awesome Author - Stefan Renton

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
This is my first full-length book. I was a late bloomer to non-compulsary reading outside of school and when I finally decided it was time for me to start, I realized how much I loved it. I started with Stephen King, which is probably why my book turned out the way it did. Another reason was a desire to find an outlet for a difficult childhood.
I struggled with a lot of different things as a child. Even though I had friends, I felt a real disconnect, like I was still always in my own space. It was true loneliness. A lot of my struggles I have written into the characters in this book. I think that doing so has really helped me to come to terms with and overcome them and that has been a really great journey for me.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Entity.
I actually wrote this back in 2015, as I said to try and help overcome some difficulties in my past and better myself, which it did wonderfully. However, it is only being published now as I find myself struggling with depression, and I feel that this could be a great moment to release it into the world and hopefully find my way back.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I am THE night owl. I would have strict rules that I would write 1000 words at least each day but I would always find my inspiration at night. I would sit there nestled up by the fireplace, cross-legged, as I bashed away at the keyboard into the early hours of the morning.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Stephen King, for sure.

What are you working on now?
I am actually working on a charity project that all the book funds will go to. It is going to help orphaned children find who they are, what they are passionate about, and hopefully even connect them to pioneers in their field who want to help. I plan to detail the success stories in the hopes of branching out into neglected children as well.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Still working on that!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Discipline yourself to write each day. It will help with other aspects of your life too!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
A dream will stay a dream unless you do. Live today so that you will have no regrets when your head hits the pillow.

What are you reading now?
I am reading a range of non fiction books. Though I have just finished The Alchemist. I would recommend that to anyone.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Definetely my charity project.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
That’s a really tough question. I don’t know that I could do it!

Awesome Author - Candace Osmond

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a Bestselling Author of various Fiction titles and an Award-Winning screenplay writer. Most of my work hangs around the Paranormal Fantasy/Romance genres, but I do have one Thriller title that’s being adapted for film. I live in Newfoundland, Canada, with my husband and two children and I’m working on my tenth novel!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Devil’s Heart is book one in a quartet called Dark Tides. It’s a Time Travel Fantasy Romance about a woman named Dianna Cobham. She accidentally breaks an enchanted ship-in-a-bottle and is sent back in time to 1707 Newfoundland where she’s taken prisoner aboard a pirate ship. To make matters worse, the pirates are sworn enemies of her ancestors. I was heavily inspired by simply living in Newfoundland. We have a huge history of piracy here and it just made sense to me to mix it with Fantasy and a dash of Romance.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes! I have this big, beautiful office because I write full time for various publications, but I still love to sit at the kitchen table, children running around my feet, and write. (my husband says it’s the close proximity to food and coffee lol)

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I honestly thought I’d be a Thriller author. I wrote Killer Me and it was a hit. Gillian Flynn and Ruth Ware are two of my all-time favorite authors, I adore every word they write. But my heart lies with Fantasy and Paranormal. There, my influences are Melissa Marr, Holly Black, and Tricia Levenseller.

What are you working on now?
I just finished book two in the Dark Tides quartet, The Pirate Queen. It releases on April. 23rd. Now, I’m neck deep in book three, The Blackened Soul, and hope for a June release.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Honestly, I rely quite a bit on my social media following. I have some amazing readers who are loyal through and through. They help me spread the word about all my books. But I also use the aid of Amazon ads, Book Bub, my newsletter, and other platforms such as Awesome Gang!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
READ! One cannot write without falling in love with reading first. After that, WRITE! lol I know it’s sounds simple, but, truly, sit down EVERY SINGLE DAY and write. It can be as much or as little as you want, but just maintain the habit of putting words to paper each and every day. If a day goes by where I don’t get the chance to sit down with my laptop and get my daily words in, I then relax on the couch with my phone and send notes to myself for the next day.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t rely on friends and family to support you. I was shocked and offended when I was told this, many, many years ago. But I soon realized how true it is. Those closest to you won’t jump on board until you’re big enough to hold them.

What are you reading now?
I’m currently jumping back and forth between Holly Black’s Cruel Prince, Tricia Levenseller’s Daughter of the Pirate King, and Amy Schumer’s Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo. I like to have a mix at all times to entertain my moods.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m slowly, but surely, moving into the world of film. My Thriller, Killer ME, is being adapted as we speak. A novella I write a couple of year ago will be an indie movie and filming starts this August. I love to write screenplays and hope to add that feather to my hat in the next years or two.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Oh, that’s a painful question! But I’d have to go with Gillian Flynn’s Dark Places, Holly Black’s Ironside, Alice in Wonderland, and Neil Gaimen’s Stardust.

Awesome Author - Margret Treiber

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Three, two are out. One is being released in October.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Sleepy Time for Captain Eris. It just happened. I’m not sure what inspired it.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I sometimes have to fight to keep my cockatiel off the keyboard. He likes to pop the keys off of the laptop.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I would say my biggest influence was Douglas Adams.

What are you working on now?
Short stories and promotion.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still testing the waters. I was pleasantly surprised by Instagram. However, I the jury is still out if it had any demonstrative results.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t let the bastards bring you down. Everyone claims to be a writer, but they never write anything. Remember, what comes out of your head is unique. Don’t let anybody take that from you.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Learn not to give a f*ck. It’s a hard lesson, but if you let people get to you, you will fail.

What are you reading now?
The news. Seriously, do you see that crap? It’s like living in some alternate dimension. You can’t make this crap up.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Keep on plugging away. Write more short stories to be rejected, maybe write some sequels to things.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would bring blank ones to write in.

Awesome Author - Sharon Cohen

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have been a nonfiction author and communication specialist for four decades. My expertise is in researching and distilling complex topics and making them user friendly. I’ve written several books about starting an online business and about Connecticut communities. After the Newtown, Connecticut, elementary school shooting–in my home town–I published a book specifically for helping people in my community find needed services.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My present book is The First Year of Hell: A Compendium of How Democratic Ideals Fared Against Trump Administration Threats in 2017. I realized that there was no way that anyone can keep up with all that transpired during President Trump’s first year. He promised to shake up the U.S. government and has done so through his own actions and those of others in the White House and cabinet.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I thoroughly read off- and online reputable sources–newspapers, books, reports–and glean the most important facts. This stage typically takes at least three to six months. I then confirm the accuracy of the information through additional sources. I completely rewrite the material in laymen’s terms, edit it and proof and reproof it for the final version.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I am a very eclectic reader. At anytime, I am reading the latest nonfiction books, as well as mysteries, memoirs, novels and poetry. My main interest, in addition to entertainment and personal interest, is studying the author’s writing style and learning better ways to write my own prose. There is never an end to learning; it is a continual process throughout life–no matter what a person’s age.

What are you working on now?
After the shooting in Newtown, I recognized that few communities have plans that help those impacted handle short- and long-term trauma from natural and manmade disasters. Communities have emergency plans that provide medical support, but psychological help is a secondary concern or not considered at all. I am presently writing a book that provides communities with a step-by-step guide on how to develop a mental health intervention plan. This plan will be used in conjunction with the one for emergency medical care.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Ironically, although I handled public relations and marketing for many organizations as a communications specialist, I never did my own promotion. It’s the shoemaker’s child that has no shoes syndrome. I am just starting to promote my books–about time!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write. Write. Write. Regardless if it is notes on napkins, journals, personal feelings, or part of a book. The more you write, the easier it will be to write more. And, the better your writing will be. Also, read all different types of fiction and nonfiction materials and keep track of what you learn from these writings. Join writing groups and provide other writers with feedback and accept their critiques with openness and appreciation.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Set a specific time to write everyday and keep to that writing schedule. Even if you only write a few words on some days, you are developing a positive habit.

What are you reading now?
I just attended and participated in a poetry reading event for poetry month, so I’ve been exploring new poets. It’s incredible how these artists can cover so much in just several lines. It shows writers how they have to continually edit, edit and edit down to the nitty gritty.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I am working on a website for my book on mental health. Once the book is published, I hope to become a speaker and write magazine articles on the topic of disaster trauma.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Bartlett’s quotations, Best Short Stories of the Modern Age, The Best of American Poetry

Awesome Author - Martin McConnell

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m just this guy living out in the woods and writing books. I make a point of helping out my fellow authors, and have a soft spot for good indie books that haven’t gotten their fair amount of press. I studied Physics, and I love writing speculative fiction and including real science elements as well as philosophical ideas that will give the reader something to think about long after they put the books down. I’ve put out around a dozen short Kindle reads, Viral Spark, and I’m currently building my Incorporated universe as a set of novels. I also write flash fiction.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Incorporated First Strike was probably inspired most by spending 10 years working for some of the biggest corporations in the world. The science behind the backdrop was gained by the Starfish Prime experiment in the 50’s. Most of the pertinent data is still classified, but it isn’t hard to fill in the blanks. The futuristic tech in the story was inspired from several sources and emerging technologies that I believe will soon be popular. When it comes to apocalypse, I wanted to present something thrilling that marks the point where the world changes, instead of glossing over that detail to rush ahead 200 years like some other authors do. I wanted the reader to feel it, and to be able to look at the world around them and actually see it happening.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m not scared of Writer’s Block. I’ve heard that’s uncommon, though I’m trying to change the status quo by inspiring others. I also write with a fountain pen, and occasionally hammer out several pages of script on the typewriter as a sort of outline before I start on the actual first draft of a novel.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Douglas Adams, for sure. I love his wit, and noticed the influence while I was writing philosophy papers in college. Patrick O’Brian is an inspiration to me, not just because I love sea stories, but just the depth of research and realism in his Jack Aubrey books. Clancy is a common theme when I’m looking for an inspiring read, and helps me figure out some of the details about writing military oriented books. Incorporated sent my editor on a spree to figure out the handling of various names and topics that she hadn’t previously encountered, so we had a lot of fun sorting out those details.

What are you working on now?
At this exact moment, I’m finishing a final round of edits for the next book in the Incorporated Saga. Most of the characters will be different, as these books are really disconnected stories told from a very vast universe that I spent a lot of time working on, but Jacob and Gibbs make little cameos. I never really stop writing, so I have a horror book, Stone’s Shadow, that I’m hoping to release by October, and another Incorporated book called Endeavor will be next on the slate. Love that one because I get to use all of my physics and rocket-making skills 🙂

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
The best promotion that I’ve ever found comes directly from my readers. I try to reach them through every platform available to me, but more important is to hook the few that I can grab. If the book is awesome, then the readers become my promotion machine, and I can watch a book like FTDB continue to spread without doing anything to promote it except being myself.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write. Write all the time. Write every day. Write on napkins, tables, walls, etc. Construct clever posts on social media. Read every single grammar or writing blog you can find. Learn, grow, write, edit, and then write some more.

Don’t aim for one book or one trilogy. If you want to be a storyteller, be prepared to put in the work editing and learning, because you won’t know everything starting off. Submit, edit some more, write more books, keep going, keep growing, and never give up. Fortune favors the bold, and this industry doesn’t give itself over nicely to thin skin or quitters.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Pick one thing in life that you absolutely want to do, and focus all of your energy on accomplishing that one thing.” author unknown.

What are you reading now?
16th century philosophy for research of an upcoming book, hehe. Words were a bit different back then.

I think the last fiction set I really remember was one of Madeleine D’Este’s books. I like her novellas when I want to pick a book out of the air and just read for a bit. Lately my daily reading has included a lot of poetry from the blog of Mandie Heinz.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m going to be in St. Louis for Gateway Con in June, hoping to see some old friends there and maybe sell a few books. I might also be in Augusta, Ga later this winter for some writing conferences and things, not sure yet. I think my big thing right now is attracting 1000 fans. Once I have that, if I get that, 1000 TRUE fans, I’ll be pretty happy with my writing career at that point.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
A chemistry book, the Army survival manual, The Bible, and probably the next Patrick O’Brian book in line on my shelf.

Awesome Author - Paul Neuhaus

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Paul Neuhaus. I’m a writer, artist and photographer who lives in Southern California. To date, I’ve written three books although my focus is now on the Quinn Henaghan series–the first of which I published on April 16th, 2018.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Company Town is the first book in the Quinn Henaghan Chronicles. It’s an Urban Fantasy story in which a young Hollywood assistant learns she has significant magical powers. Unfortunately, she also learns she’s been put between a rock and a hard place. She must fight a demon who’s been lording over Los Angeles for nearly a century.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Nope. The only habit you need is to sit down in front of the keyboard every single day. There’s no magic involved.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’m all over the place. Tolkien, Fitzgerald, Vonnegut, Robbins (Tom), to name just a few!

What are you working on now?
I’m completing books 2 & 3 of the Quinn Henaghan Chronicles with the expectation of releasing them roughly thirty days apart.

After that, I’m planning a Space Opera trilogy.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still new at this game. Ask me again in a year!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
As much as I hate to say it, set yourself a daily word count. Mine if 4000 words and I produce that amount seven days a week.

Also, just know that your first draft will be terrible. But that’s kind of the point. You can’t get in there and chip away at it if you don’t have that first draft.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t eat the yellow snow.

What are you reading now?
I’ve been very tied up in the launch of Company Town. I’m ready to take a little break and read a novel or two!

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m treating this as a job (which it is). All I want to do is keep plugging away.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Great Gatsby, The Lord of the Rings and How to Get Off a Desert Island in Three Easy Steps.

Awesome Author - Mkhonzeni Dlamini

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
So far I have written four memoir books.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My last book is ‘Goodbye Swaziland, Hello Taiwain’. Coming from a feudal absolute monarchy state, undeveloped and characterized by poverty; I was really excited getting here in Taiwan, a developed first world country and very democratic.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write what excites me – If you are around me, behave yourself – otherwise if you cause some drama, it will feature in my book. I just cant sleep, if I had experienced some drama, unless I put it down in my diary.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have not been influenced much about book but the lack of cultural dynamics, culture and beliefs that the west portray in their writings about Africans. Let African stories be told by African themselves.

What are you working on now?
Currently, I am not writing any book. I do have topics to write on but I am too busy with academic workload. I need to finish my masters dissertation in the coming months.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I use Twitter to market my book and other indie author support pages.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
As a author, be driven by passion for writing not money. If you want to write for money, consider being a profession journalist.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You must learn to edit your own work.

What are you reading now?
None.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I think I have written enough, I need to now focus on marketing strategies.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would bring my debut book Phoenix Mysteries : Memoirs of a Born Oppressed(Swaziland), Trevor Noah’s Born A Crime and Malaika’s Memoirs of A Born Free : My Reflections on a Rainbow Nation.

Awesome Author - L.E. Thomas

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I currently have four books published. However, I’ve written many more under pen names during my career.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My most recent book is “Star Runners: Scorpions.” The book was inspired by the movie “Top Gun” and my earliest daydreams as a child desiring to be a part of an elite fighter squadron.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t know if it’s unusual but I’m extremely motivated by music. Sometimes a song will inspire a scene. While I’m writing it, I place the song on repeat until I’m finished. It’s always an incredible experience when that happens to me.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
So, so many! In recent years, I’d say Claudia Gray, Cormac McCarthy, J.F. Penn, Stephen King, Jeff Shaara, Mark Bowden, Dan Hampton, Shelby Foote and Timothy Zahn. I could probably go on, but I’ll leave it at this incredibly talented group.

What are you working on now?
I am readying the fifth book in the Star Runners Universe for publication.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Besides Twitter and Facebook, I tend to have the most success with AskDavid.com and Bargain Books. However, I try new things everyday.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t ever give up. If you really dream of writing, do it every day and know this is a long journey. Never lose the love of telling a good story because everyone in the world (or at least it feels like it) is going to tell you that you can’t do this. Prove them wrong.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Never explain and don’t complain” and “Always tell the truth and then you never have to remember anything.”

What are you reading now?
Lords of the Sky by Dan Hampton and Rise to Rebellion by Jeff Shaara as well as a few books on my iPod.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I would like to finish up the first series of books in the Star Runners Universe.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

Awesome Author - Jeff Meats

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written several children’s books, and am currently beginning to actually publish them. I had written the books for my grandchildren, but, now am trying to share with others. There is nothing more important that showing children you have time for them and love them. I started with my book, “How High Is The Sky?”, which is my only book in publication at the moment. I hope to move on to the next book very soon.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My book is “How High Is The Sky?” and was inspired by my grandchildren, who would follow me around when they were small and constantly ask questions. I began to write books about the questions they asked so I could read them the books and it would be something special we shared. They have been trying to get me to publish them for years and I have finally decided to give it a try.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I love to write in rhyme, which seems to help keep small children’s attention. I also enjoy answering questions they ask, because it makes learning fun for them and they carry that into adulthood.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Dr. Seuss was probably the biggest influence on me, although I don’t normally make up words to make a rhyme. I prefer to keep my vocabulary real for the children.

What are you working on now?
My next book, which I hope to have in publication by the end of next month will be titled “How Much Do I Love You?” This book was specifically written at the request of my great-grandson, Izayah. I was reading him the homemade books I wrote for my grandchildren and he asked me to write one for him. I love him so much that it was a pleasure to explain to him, in rhyme, how much he means to me. It even inspired him to write a “book” for me (which he says he wants to publish on Craigslist. lol) It is neat that, although he is only five, he already is gaining an interest in reading and writing. He is reading on a second grade level.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am brand new to this process, so I have been predominantly using FaceBook to promote my book. This has worked far better than I thought it would, but, if I am to earn the money back that I spent, so I can publish the next book, I need to branch out. That is why I am here.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Probably to just do it! It’s easy to put it off, or think your work isn’t good enough. The next thing you know, the years have flown by. There is great satisfaction in seeing your book in print and I have quickly discovered that, even though I want to make enough money to continue to publish my books, the look on my great-grandson’s face when he actually held my proof in his hand, and took it to school to show his teacher and classmates was enough to make all the effort and expense worth it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If you always do what you’ve always done, you will always have what you’ve always had!

What are you reading now?
I constantly read educational articles on the internet and purchase children’s books to read to my little buddy. (Actually, he reads them to me now)

What’s next for you as a writer?
I just want to continue to share my work with others in hopes that it will be as beneficial for them has it has been for me and my family.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
You know, I have always been a huge Steven King fan. I would most definitely take “It” with me. “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Chariots of the Gods” would be on my list, as well.

Awesome Author - J Fitzgerald

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is J Fitzgerald, I’m a writer and an entrepreneur, and I’m really from the middle of nowhere. Growing up more than 50 miles away from the nearest big city forced me to use to learn my imagination to the utmost at an early age, a skill which I never forgot. HIMILCO is my first book. I’ve always wanted to write, but I never had the courage; so one day I just decided to take the plunge! I love science fiction, and I wanted to try and write something to revolutionize the genre, so I set to work on HIMILCO, which takes place in a future world in which things like being transgender or gender non conforming are completely normal and mundane things. It’s a hard scifi book and I think that anybody, regardless of their sexuality, will love it. I’m very green when it comes to writing, but I think that anybody who gives this book a chance will be happy they spent the 99 cents to get a copy. I’m also currently working on my second book, a post apocalyptic psychological thriller and scifi novel called BEOGRAD.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my book is HIMILCO…I chose this name because one of the main themes in my book is exploration, and Himilco the Navigator was one of the greatest explorers and mariners of the ancient world. I wanted my book to be like a modern retelling of an ancient tale. A journal kept by a homesick explorers miles and miles away from home.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
My favorite authors would probably be Arthur C. Clarke, Robert A. Heinlein, Frank Herbert, Isaac Asimov, Orson Scott Card, H.P. Lovecraft, Jules Verne, and Ray Bradbury…and I think this is reflected in my works! I absolutely adore Dune, The Foundation Series, Childhood’s End, Ender’s Game, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, and many others.

What are you working on now?
My second work, a novella called BEOGRAD.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Right now, Facebook.

Never give up. Never surrender.

What are you reading now?
Edward Gibbon’s A History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire

What’s next for you as a writer?
Starting a blog and writing free material to build my fan base. I think my writing is solid and I want people to see it!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

Awesome Author - Andre Soeiro

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Writing had always been a dream, but only now did I start to do it. So far, only two short stories published in Amazon. One in Portuguese and one in English.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
O Descendente de uma Meretriz.
In portuguese, this term would be another way, never used, to describe the slang we use to call someone “son of a bitch”. In portuguese, the literal translation for it might be “son of a prostitute”. Then, I used some formal words, so that it looks not obscene. In the text, a person that is actually born out of a prostitute is described as being a very righteous character, with high integrity.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I do not understand what would be unusual habits. If the above description on my last book is unusual, then yes, and I might try to search for unusual things to write.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
In Portuguese, Aloisio Azevedo. In English, Isaac Asimov.

What are you working on now?
A book that portraits a trip I had gone through Bolivia and Peru, all alone. Two things come to mind in this trip:
1. Nothing in the trip happened as planed, yet everything ended quite fine.
2. Although I traveled by myself, I had never been alone during the trip. Always had one or more people together in the various paths I took.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Since I have no more than 3 days I am a “publisher” (nah, I’m not one yet, I wanna be), I only got into Awesome Gang so far.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Do they have for me? I’m a new author… Fresh out of the oven!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Wear Sunscreen?
In the author business, none yet.

What are you reading now?
Technical documentation on QT C++ development for Linux KDE Application development.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Finish the Bolivia-Peru book, and publish it both in Portuguese and English. The published short story “Guerrillas” is actually an adaptation of a chapter from the Bolivia-Peru book into a short story.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Bible;
Maybe some boy-scouts manual;
Botanical reference on poisonous plants and animals;

Awesome Author - Ryan Watterson

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Gods of the American Wild is my first full length novel, but I’ve written doesn’t of short stories which I never published and another novel which… maybe some day I’d like to rewrite it. With this book, I felt incredibly passionate about the story and happy with how it turned out.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Gods of the American Wild: The Dragon 2043. For me, the biggest inspiration was the political division that we have in the United States right now. The central conflict of the book is that the Illuminate, essentially, is trying to engineer a civil war and manipulate people into giving into their darkest impulses. In many ways, the novel is a parable.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
When inspiration strikes and I’m really thinking about what’s going to happen next, I find myself turning on an album that fits in with the scenes like a soundtrack and pacing around my apartment for hours.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Tons. Chuck Palahniuk and Bret Easton Ellis have been major influences, as far as contemporary fiction goes, but I’m a huge fan of the classics like The Count of Monte Cristo, Crime and Punishment, The Great Gatsby and Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. My favorite book growing up is Ender’s Game and I think that comes through a lot in my writing — that style of something that can be described as genre fiction, but really has a lot of depth and meaning.

What are you working on now?
The next project for me is the… well I guess you’d call it the “1.5” to Gods of the American Wild, which will be a book of short stories that sets up the sequel, introduces new characters and checks in on what some of the characters of the first book are up to in between the two main books.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Hard to say, as it’s my first book. I’m trying everything I can — ads, interviews like this, being active on social media, blogging. I have to say, I really enjoy doing interviews, so I hope to do more in the future.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t give up. You have something to offer the world and if you don’t offer it, there’s no one out there who will do it for you. “If not us, then who? If not now, then when?” You have a short time on this Earth. Paint it your color while you’re here.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“There are three things you need in life. I call them the three Ps. People, passion and pay. Try to get at least two of the three in everything you do.”

What are you reading now?
“The Power of Myth” by Joseph Campbell.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to finish the Gods of the American Wild series, then we’ll see what happens next. I have a great idea for another series, but you never know where life will take you.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Ender’s Game, World Mythology, The Giver, Fight Club

Awesome Author - Nicola Rose

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m from the UK, where I live with my husband and two boys. In addition to writing, I have a passion for photography and can often be found messing around in Photoshop with covers and teasers!

I’ve written one novella and two full-length books in a paranormal romance series, which is due to release soon. I’m currently working on book three and planning a few others.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Taste the Dark is my latest book, which releases on 30th April. It’s book one in a paranormal romance/ urban fantasy series. I first started thinking about this book 8 years ago! It was inspired by Twilight, and later by the Vampire Diaries. I’ve always loved vampires. After reading Twilight, I was left wanting more. More vampires, and more adult content. Taste the Dark was born!

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Nothing unusual – only the annoying one, where my best ideas come to me at the most inconvenient times! Usually when I’m in the shower or trying to go to sleep. Then I’m scrambling around trying to write them down before I forget.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Too many to list! Twilight must get a mention because it was the series that kicked me into starting my own vampire romance books. More recently I’ve been inspired by Sarah J Maas, I love her fantasy books and I’m now planning my own.

What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on book three in my Elwood Legacy series. I’m also plotting a fantasy trilogy, an urban fantasy/dystopia trilogy, and a couple of novellas… so, quite a lot!

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still fairly new to this, I haven’t used many promotion services. I’ve found Instagram to be the best social media platform for connecting with readers.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just keep writing! Don’t get hung up on the details, and worrying about it not being good enough. Write. Write. Write. You can’t edit a blank page, but you can edit all those pages that you spewed out without stopping to worry. That’s when the magic will happen – new plot ideas will come to you, things will fall into place, and you can make it shine.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
See above!! And basically, just don’t stress. Life’s too short for worry. Everything will work out.

What are you reading now?
I’m reading Waterfall Effect by KK Allen, and really enjoying it.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Hopefully getting my name out there and gathering a bunch of happy readers!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
A Court of Mist and Fury – Sarah J Maas
Vicious – LJ Shen
A Darker Shade of Magic – VE Schwab
Empire of Storms – Sarah J Maas

Awesome Author - Brian Howard

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve been writing since high school, albeit with many interruptions. My first completed rough draft was in 2003, but that one’s still waiting on revisions. That’s a story by itself.
For years I put notes together and started outlines, but things kept getting in the way.

In 2015 I came back to writing with a new determination. My first book Simon Rising, released 3/10/2017. Book two, Rectifier – The Electric Man, followed 4/20/18. Those are both standalone books in a superhero series, and I have at least six more mapped out for that world

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Many of them come from “what if” questions. My superhero world started by thinking about how with most superheroes writers will start with an origin story, but too often there’s no explanation for why powers exist in the world. So I started my world building from that.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I put a lot of time into character backgrounds. I use real estate sites to find a house or apartment for them. I find floorplans and figure out how they decorate. This let me to figure out one character played hockey in college.

What are you working on now?
The main series I’m working on right now, Riftworlds Online, is a seven-book LitRPG series. It’s partly a combination of Tron and Escape from New York. A gamer is recruited by the Secret Service when the President’s daughter is trapped with millions of other people inside an immersive virtual reality online roleplaying game. Now he must navigate the world to find and rescue her, and figure out what’s really going on to stop it.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m working towards the point where my writing can replace my day job. I want to write full time.

Awesome Author - Daniel Sugar

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve written for a number of TV shows including “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno. “Salem Burning” is my first novel.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
One day I thought, what if someone told a lie and it just happened to be true? And then I thought, and what if that happened in 1692? As soon as I had that, I suddenly saw the entire story of “Salem Burning”. It flashed through my mind in an instant; fully-formed.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to write for long stretches – 14, 15, 16, hours – until I’m so tired I no longer know what the words mean.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I like the page-turners: Sidney Sheldon, Jackie Collins, Harold Robbins, Dan Brown, J.K. Rowling.

What are you working on now?
I’m writing the sequel to “Salem Burning”. It’s set during The French Revolution and is entitled “The Witch And The Guillotine”.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’ve had a lot of readers contact me through Twitter.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write every day and be relentless – don’t give up.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Treat people with respect.

What are you reading now?
I’m re-reading a Sidney Sheldon novel called “The Other Side Of Midnight”. It’s such a page-turner!

What’s next for you as a writer?
I hope to write 7 novels featuring Lilly Parris, the heroine of “Salem Burning”.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
“Breakfast At Tiffany’s” by Truman Capote. Every sentence is a Faberge egg.

“Pride And Prejudice” by Jane Austen. It’s a masterpiece and I never get tired of it.

The entire “Harry Potter” series. I really believe that J.K. Rowling is the Charles Dickens of the 21st Century. She has a magnificent mind.

Awesome Author - Vince Nolan

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
As a lifelong writer with a fascination for fantasy and magic, I use a light, fun and casual style of writing to create my gallery of charming magical characters who not only entertain, but speak to some of life’s concerns, including surviving—and succeeding—in a world where magic can, hopefully, be embraced and accepted.

Books I’ve written? Several, including The Weaver, a book of short stories told by a magical narrator to a group of children…one of whom is destined to become the Weaver’s successor. As well as the screenplay, “Bewitched” Meets “I Dream of Jeannie,” a love letter of sorts to my two most favorite magical women. Books that have been published? My first self-published project was “The Rainbow in the Room,” available through Amazon, about a man who can make anything he says in rhyme come true, and is called before a Senate subcommittee to defend why he didn’t do more to help out during 9/11.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest contribution to the fantasy world is “Love Happens,” a magical fantasy romantic comedy. Ramses El Djinn is a genie who falls in love with his master. But when he tells his bride what he is, he’s surprised to find out that she’s a witch. Neither of their fathers is happy with this mixed marriage. Can their love survive? Can wishes make things better…or worse? I think of this as an original take on my Bewitched/Jeannie crossover, albeit with fresh characters and a romantic twist. These characters have all of the family-friendly charm and humor of their inspiration, with the added complication of a Romeo/Juliet conflict.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I always start with an outline, meticulously listing and describing all of the main characters, their attributes, motivations and any quotes that come to mind that work with my mapped-out plot. Once I get to what I think is the end of this process, I go back to page one and fill out all of the notes with detail. I sort of think of it as “layered writing” — adding elements until I’ve got a workable first draft.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
My ultimate influence has got to be the 1930s and 1940s fantasy humorist Thorne Smith, who’s most famous creation would undoubtedly be the novel “Topper,” about a repressed banker who learns to embrace life with the help of a George and Marion Kirby, two fun-loving ghosts. Smith also penned stories about men changing into animals, bringing stone statues to life and swimming in the fountain of youth: all of them told with humor and a clear tongue-in-cheek attitude. His books are funny, sexy and charming, and if I could achieve a modicum of his success in the industry I’d consider myself truly blessed.

What are you working on now?
At the moment I’m in between working on finding an agent for the screenplay version of “Love Happens” and penning the sequel novel, with some surprises I can’t give yet give away but with a subplot that finds our genie hero accidentally in the hands of a new master, leaving his witch-wife to figure out how to get him back

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
To be honest, promotion without an agent behind you is the hardest thing to do…especially with limited funds, but I find Facebook a great start, as well as any other media outlet you can find online…anywhere to get the word out.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never be unwilling to compromise when it comes to dealing with agents, publishers, managers if they feel you should be going in a different way. The bottom line for any writer is to get their work out there and hopefully cash in on its popularity, so if an agent or publisher finds a better way to get that maximum result, don’t fight it. You may wind up regretting that decision.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Not to be vulgar about it, but the best advice I’ve ever gotten was from my tell-it-like-it-is father who once said while I was sending out resumes left and right, “the more crap you throw against the wall, the more of a chance some will stick.” I find this is true for submissions as well, you can’t stop at a dozen or so tries, you have to keep getting your ideas out there to anyone and everyone who’s willing to take a look at them.

What are you reading now?
At the moment I’m reading and reviewing some books from my publisher’s web site, Synergebooks to help advance some of my fellow writers on that site. I also enjoy classic authors, such as Ian Fleming, whose entire collection I’ve devoured.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Promotion, promotion, promotion, getting the word out there about what I’ve already done, as I lay the foundation for the sequels and stories left in me to come.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
1. Topper – Thorne Smith
2. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service – Ian Fleming
3. A Prayer for Owen Meany – John Irving
4. The Importance of Being Earnest – Oscar Wilde
5. Gone With the Wind – Margaret Mitchell

Awesome Author - Anthony Stewart

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a high school student and was born February 11th 1999 in Biloxi, Mississippi. My novels are in the Furry Fandom and consist of real life issues in high school, college and beyond. I have written one novel and it is the first of my current series.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
One Way Forward. I was expelled in fall 2017 and sent into temporary placement. I wrote journals about this time for it was extremely hard to deal with and I would see the counselor every day. November came and one of my classmates told me to turn my journals into novels and i began to plan the Angel Dragon High School series. The students and staff at my local ALC became the characters in this novel as they inspired them by personality. When my dog passed away I gave that pain to my main character Falcoln James Skymere. He and I share the same pains and sufferings that are listed in the novels as well as its poem and journal entries.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write in first person as it allows me to express my internal thoughts and feelings as though I were that character or actually in that specific event.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Charles Martin, Kyell Gold, Carrie Stuart Parks, Rick Riordan, J.K. Rowling, Erin Hunter, Christopher poalini, Stephen Meyer, Mathew J. Kirby, Jon S. Lewis, Lauren Tarshis, Johnathan Cahn

What are you working on now?
I am still working on the Angel Dragon High School Series. I plan to create other titles of series known as Angel Dragon Novels and The Angel Dragon Diaries.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have my own website for my novels on jimdo. It is a free website creator and it is where my books will be most promoted. social media is part of it but i rarely use it.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never let someone tell you that you can’t be anything. Being you is what truly matters. Not a single idea to a book is too small to become a master piece in words.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never let someone tell you that you cant be anything, for you have a gift to give to this world that none may possess.

What are you reading now?
I am reading many works of fiction as well as anime and furry novels by other authors.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I will continue writing my current novels and make being an author a second career for myself.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would bring 4 of my favorite titles that i like most.

Awesome Author - Jacqueline Lucia

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a sensitive and goofy lady who loves people and art and music and writing with an authenticity to it – however that may look. I have written a lot, yet only published one book – so far! (stay tuned!)

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
‘Making Ends Meet with a Popcorn Popper’ was just published at the beginning of this year and it’s a collection of tips I put together from a particularly difficult time in my life.

A few years ago, my life had unexpectedly turned inside out and upside down and I was left with very little – money wise – and two small children. The husband I had known, wasn’t what I had known at all and I was left to overcome an uphill battle in order to keep us fed, warm, and safe.

This book puts together the resources I learned to use, plus some tricks I figured out, and the mindsets I had to adapt to get to the other side of my devastation. This guide is told from a girlish perspective with a bit of humor and anecdotal pieces throughout – and that is where the ‘popcorn popper’ part comes from. It’s one of the stories woven in the book that helped me get through my difficult time.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t know. I like to sprawl out on the couch with a blanket and just GO. That’s it, really. I guess the blanket is kind of odd. I’m temperature-sensitive.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Neil Hilborn, the poet. I admire his raw truth – it’s so brave. Anyone who can bare their truth not only frees themselves but helps open countless doors for others.

What are you working on now?
I am working on a novel about a woman’s journey through devastation upon the discovery of her husband’s financial infidelities and abuse.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Currently I am trying out several methods – so the jury is out on this one!
I have been interviewed, I may soon be on Podcasts, I use Amazon’s marketing programs as well as other social media marketing including Facebook and Pinterest. I also use traditional advertising like Google.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write. Even when you don’t want to. Just write.

Writers are artists and aren’t always the greatest at making schedules for themselves and that’s where the trouble can start. Make a habit of writing a paragraph every day – no matter what. Or 10 words. Or something really easy. I heard that once – and it really shifted my perspective.

The other advice I have is that you are going to have to edit it a gazillion times. I STILL find errors. And it drives me NUTS. Get a second or a THIRD pair of eyes – or hire a proofreader. The point is – you’re going to have typos and errors. It’s not the end of the world. Just know it will happen and be prepared to correct them – a gazillion times. No one is perfect. 😉

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Oh, man…I hate picking ONE thing. There’s so much great advice out there. You’ve GOT to LOVE YOURSELF. I know, I know…so trite….everyone says it…but it’s true. You really do. Because you need to be true to yourself.

Which leads me to my next advice I love – you’ve got to be YOU – because everyone else is already taken. And that comes across in your art – your writing, your everything. You must be YOU. Love yourself enough to be YOU. Be authentically YOU.

What are you reading now?
I am a constant consumer of editorials and blog posts and opinion articles. I like bite size snippets lately, so that’s what I’m reading. But I have some short stories on my to-do that I want to read soon – the next by Hemingway.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I am in the early stages of my novel and am deciding on point of view and will be putting together my outline. I have pieces of draft written that I want to lay out as well and experiment with different points of view and see where it may fit within my outline; again, I’m mapping things out.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would take ‘The Norton Anthology of American Literature’, ‘The Phophet’ by Kahlil Gibran and some sort of survival book, of course!

Awesome Author - Kelsey Anne Lovelady

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a student of the University of Wyoming and I will be graduating with my B.F.S. in Musical Theatre on May 12th. Incidentally, May 12th is the same day that my first book is being published.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My the idea for my first novel “STARFORGED: Orion” came to me when I first discovered the world of steampunk. I really wanted to write a story with steampunk pirates, and that’s what got the ball rolling.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Depends on your definition of unusual. I like to drink English Breakfast Tea with milk and sugar or French Vanilla coffee as I write. I like to write right after breakfast (when I don’t have classes that early), and I try to write a chapter a day. I guess the most unusual thing about my writing process is that when I outline/write a fight scene, I use the D&D system; roll a d20 to see if the attacks hit and then deal damage.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
David Partelow is another self-published author that I met in 2013. He taught me everything I know about self-publishing. Plus, his books series are so good! I nearly strangled him when I finished his first book… He knows what he did.

Tamora Pierce came to me in middle school with her “Song of the Lioness” series. It was the first real book where there was a badass leading lady. I was heavily bullied in school and felt helpless for so many days that I just gravitated to such a character. I want to give other girls what she gave me.

What are you working on now?
In terms of editing and marketing, I’m preparing for the release of “STARFORGED: Orion”. As for writing, I have a little thing in the works but I don’t want to give too much away right now.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Facebook has behooved me the best so far, but I also have Tumblr, Twitter, Pinterest, Goodreads, and Instagram.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Writing a book is hard. It’s supposed to be hard. If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Be kind to yourself. Take your time. Stop focusing on what your haven’t accomplished. Look at what you have accomplished.

What are you reading now?
The first book in David Partelow’s children series. Cresent Moon. It’s a great book for children and adults alike, and it make for

What’s next for you as a writer?
Like I said, I have a little project in the works, but I’m keeping it close to my chest for now.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Well, I would take David’s first book “L.O.R.E. Legacy of Revelation: Earth” to comfort me.
Then I would take “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare” cause there are still some plays I haven’t read or scene yet. Besides, his work is just so brilliant.
And for my guilty pleasure, I’d have “Sense and Sensibility” by Jane Austen. Hey, I’m a hopeless romantic.

Awesome Author - M.A. Liguori

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a soft-spoken and sensitive sort who holds a deep-seated love for all things fantasy. I was the typical Dungeons & Dragons kid, a geek before it was cool. I completed three novels before my debut was published by Hydra Publications. I also have short stories published in Heroic Fantasy Quarterly and New Realm Magazine.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Virtue and Vengeance: Empire of Cinders was inspired by the grittier style of fantasy and historical fiction. Heavy on the medieval world-building, but with influences from the early dynasties of the Far East. Lots of conflict, deception, lust, and deadly intrigue.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I tried writing while hanging upside down from the ceiling like a vampire. It worked pretty well in the creative sense, until the harness snapped and I fell on my head.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Lots of R.A. Salvatore when I was young, as well as Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind, Brian Jacques, and Tolkien of course. As I’ve grown older it’s become more historical fiction and darker fantasy. Steven Pressfield, Gary Jennings, James Clavell, George RR Martin, Joe Abercrombie, and a bit of Steven Erikson.

What are you working on now?
Currently working on the grim and gritty sequel to Virtue and Vengeance, but I have a standalone fantasy novel that will likely be released in the interim.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Amazon, Facebook, conventions, e-book discount sites like Book Barbarian and Bargain Booksey.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just keep writing. Don’t wait to be inspired, tell yourself it’s time to get to work. Find a place that is free from distraction, and let your imagination go.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Create like a god, command like a king, work like a slave.

What are you reading now?
Samurai Wind by Nigel Sellars, and Shadowlith by Stuart Thaman. Both excellent fantasy novels – check ’em out!

What’s next for you as a writer?
More writing!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
All I would need is the book of collected poems by Emily Dickinson.

Awesome Author - Alexandra Jean

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve written over 40+ books as a ghostwriter and only about a handful myself. I’ve been writing for other authors for about five years now. One of the series that I write for is pretty successful, but I’ll never tell.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The latest book that I published is called #TequilaThursdays and it was inspired by a bi-weekly ritual I had with my old co-workers. We would go to the bar every Thursday we were paid. We’d drink Tequila and have fun. This book was actually written for another author but he never paid me, so I canceled the contract and published it before he could. Just a little cautionary tale for those writers who are considering a ghostwriting career.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I hope this isn’t unusual, but I talk out loud. To make sure that the dialogue sounds authentic I act it out loud. Sometimes I even get into the gestures and it just helps me tune into the characters better. There have been times where I use the accents as well.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I can’t even pinpoint one author that I can say for sure has influenced me. My favorites that I can think of are E. Lynn Harris, Andrew M. Greeley, Maya Angelou, Alice Walker, Terry McMillian, and so many more are my favorites. I bounce between so many genres and authors though.

What are you working on now?
Right now, I’m working on my novel and editing my old work to publish myself. I still am ghostwriting for others.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am not so great at this, but I will say that social media plays a big part. The thing is, when you’re an author who is starting out, you may not have that much money or time to put into promotion. I would say to do a lot of research and use as much free tools that you can. There are some apps that will post for you and help you chose hashtags to get to a wider audience. At the end of the day it’s all about persistence and consistency.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Reach out to other authors. Sometimes we can tend to stay to ourselves because maybe in this field, it feels like we should have it all figured out. I had to learn to reach out and admit to what I can’t do. We can’t do it all. We have to learn to embrace each other sometimes. Some writers/authors can be so standoffish.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I ever heard was to be true to yourself. Often we’d see these bestselling books and they are NOTHING like our style. Sometimes it can make you wonder if you should dabble in that genre just for the income alone, but don’t. Don’t watch or envy someone else’s success, just work on your own stuff.

What are you reading now?
“He say, She say” By Yolanda Joe

What’s next for you as a writer?
I hope to inspire younger kids to write and pursue publishing. I use to write so freely as a teen. I still think my writings as a teen is a bit more superior to what I write now. As a teen though, everyone shot me down and told me that writing was dumb or foolish. Only English teachers encouraged me and I think that’s sad. There are so many great writers that are shot down before they even get a chance to start.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Only 3 or 4?
“The House on Mango Street” by Sandra Cisneros
“Please, Please, Please” by Renee Swindle
“The Phantom Tollbooth” by Norton Juster
“Thy Brother’s Wife” Andrew M. Greeley

Awesome Author - O’neil Sharma

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
The White House is my first book but I have written screenplays before this. I started my career in banking but as a decent person I had to switch to the arts! I love telling stories and getting inside the puzzle that is the mind of my creations. I live in Berlin, Germany but was born in London. I think that people should live at least somewhere other than when they were born at least once in their life.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The White House was inspired by a BBC documentary I saw on the Sonderkommando. Before that I had never heard of them or the terrible things they were forced to do. I knew this was the story I wanted to tell but I did not want to set it in the camps but rather years later, when the characters had time to process their acts.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I sometimes like to dance before I write a scene.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
There are so many! I would say that these authors are among my favorites: Joseph Heller
Stephen King
Thomas Harris
Kurt Vonnegut
Oscar Wilde
John Le Carre
Ernest Hemingway
Tom Wolfe

What are you working on now?
A story about a man who leaves jail and wants to live “the good life”. The problem is crime is part of who he is and the question raised is: can one change ones nature?

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Know your characters, know your world and read everything you can!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Writing is rewriting.

What are you reading now?
One Hundred Years of Solitude. It’s been on my to-read list for ages.

What’s next for you as a writer?
The blank page is something I always do battle with!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Catch 22, Bonfire of the Vanities, Crime and Punishment and IT.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was born and raised in Paris, France from Congolese parents. I am a London-based international entrepreneur involved in a variety of companies. Since I have been a kid, I always had an overflowing Imagination. Today, I do business by day and write by night. 100 Dates and a Wedding is my first book.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My first book is called 100 dates and a wedding which relates the dating adventures of a 30-year-old French Divorcee in London. The book was inspired by my own experiences and some of my friends.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to write late at night with a glass of rosé. Très French!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have to admit, I don’t read a lot of Chick Lit anymore, I am more into historical and inspirational biography from successful entrepreneurs. It’s probably why my book has a very particular and different format compares with other Chick lit books. But I have been influenced by authors in my category such as Helen Green, Sophie Kinsella, or Dawn Porter.

What are you working on now?
I am working on a few entrepreneurial and creative projects and writing a new romantic book.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Well, I feel like social media has been the best place for me so far. And Facebook remains the best place for me to sell my book.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
The main advice I would give to new authors is to stay real to themselves especially if you’re lucky enough to be self-published. Nobody will dictate what can be said, written, or censored.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If you try to please everybody, you will lose everyone. You’ll always have people that won’t like you, your book, or both.

What are you reading now?
I am currently reading Richard Branson’s latest book “Finding My Virginity: The New Autobiography”.

What’s next for you as a writer?
My second romantic novel, I can’t wait to introduce it to the world. ANd why not a web series of 100 Dates and a Wedding.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz, and L’Etranger by Albert Camus.

Awesome Author - M.A. Hallock

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I currently live in Northern Michigan. My hobbies consist of reading, writing and learnimg.
I also, love sports such as basketball along with combat sports like mma, jujitsu and Thai boxing. I have fought dozens of time in the ring, cage and overseas. I consider myself to be a new age and amateur explorer. I believe the whole world and each country to be beautiful and worth the effort of exploring each countries specific intrinsic beauty.
I have written 13 books. However, only 1 is published.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Confidence, Concentration and Your Fear Within An Introductory Guide to Overcoming Fear.
My inspiration partly came from my childhood and its many calamities and recent tragedies in my family and a dear friend. My dear friend was shot 5 times in Afghanistan jumping in front of another.
The other is my mother. Her husband and my step father was killed by a drunk driver blowing through a stop sign at 85 mph in a 25 limit. I wanted to offer some strength.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Lol yes, i do. If a piece of information is valuable enough and i do not have the time, i will write it on my arms.
I once stayed up for 2 days and ran out of space on my arms, so i used my face.
I do not like losing research. 🙂

What authors, or books have influenced you?
The bible first and foremost. The power of concentration, the art of war, The Ballad of Reading Gaol by Oscar Wilde. The Cross of Christ by John w. r. Stott. How to win friends and influence people- Carnegie. There are hundreds and possible thousands of other books also.

What are you working on now?
I am writing rhe second installment of my book on fear.
Also, i am getting my research together for a book on relationship dynamics and how to reach the highest level of love in marriage.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
When i finished my book i sat down and tried to compile a complete list of the type of readers my book should target specifically. After enough contemplation i still couldn’t find one.
My book should be read by everyone. The content applies to everyone under the sun, so the best method for me is word of mouth. A person simply needs to read it and they will understand.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Adopt a growth mindset. A growth mindset simply means to always seek the best information you can find when your stuck. And to never shrink away from a seemingly difficult task.
If you’re stuck, there are probably 1000 resources of info waiting for even the tiniest of problems.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
EVERYONE thinks their writing is garbage. You will likely feel the same way. Always remember it is a normal reaction and remember you must fight through those thoughts. Only will see your flaws not necessarily the reader. 🙂

What are you reading now?
I’m reading the cross of christ, yet again. The weaver. Battles of nations and how to win friends and influence people.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to leave my home behind and help others. I also, want to walk through europe and Asia writing about the worlds beauty. The people and the culture as well.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The bible, the cross of christ, the ballad of reading gaol and a survival guide. 😉

Besides, I contribute to some newspapers.
