Awesome Author - Deborah A. Morrison

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a new thought, visionary internationally recognized author and master life coach from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I like to bring inspiration, growth and learning through the healing power of the written word. With inspired creativity and compassion I believe we can change life for the better. I have written six books in the genres of non-fiction, fiction, and poetry. And, I’ve written numerous published articles on natural therapies, yoga, meditation, psychology, and metaphysics.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book “Finding Your Center: Explorations in Philosophy, New Physics and Eastern Mysticism” was inspired by my extensive research in eastern and western thought within the framework of contemporary and comparative studies. Firstly, intent with Finding Your Center is to bring the reader a more comprehensive, inter-disciplinary understanding of life, philosophy, sociology, new physics and eastern mysticism in relation to how one may find their center in the contemporary world in which one lives. Secondly, my intent is to bring awareness about the importance finding one’s inner center by means of taking rest between activity as a means to develop focus, preparation, mental clarity, and sincerity. Through centered living life may be enriched and filled with blessings and joy for one and all.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to write my inspirations as they happen spontaneously. Sometimes in the middle of what I’m doing I will stop and quickly write a few notes on paper, or even send a text to myself. At other times I may rest meditatively at various times throughout the day and wonderful insights may come my way. I like to write these down as they happen. At other times while sleeping I may wake up and jot down an insightful dream I had in my dream journal which I keep on a nearby side table. Or perhaps I may awaken at 2 or 3 a.m. and have some tea by candlelight and receive insights worth keeping by putting pen to paper. I’ve discovered that it’s important for me to catch the inspirations as they happen otherwise they may be lost.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Some authors who have influenced me are Paulo Coehlo, Don Miguel Ruiz, Elizabeth Clare Prophet, and Doreen Virtue.

What are you working on now?
Currently I am working on my manuscript for a visionary fiction, romance story called
“Serendipity Happens!”

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My best method for promoting my books is on amazon.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you’re very busy just find a little time each week to write, even an hour or two.
Write down your inspirations as they happen since if you wait until later they may be lost.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I’ve ever had is “keep writing!”

What are you reading now?
Currently I am reading “A Course In Miracles” by Dr. Helen Shucman.

Also, I am reading “How To Work With Angels” by Elizabeth Clare Prophet

What’s next for you as a writer?
I would like to write a few pocket books.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
“The Alchemist” by Paulo Coehlo
“Secrets of Shamanism” by Jose Stevens, Phd. & Lena S. Stevens
“The Key” by Joe Vitale

Awesome Author - Ashley Boyd

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I love traveling and activities, writing and speaking, being a wife and mommy, cooking and eating, and reading. A published author, motivational speaker, and lover of people, I love helping men, women and children develop the confidence and courage you need to be who you really see and achieve your goals and dreams.

I have written three books (one memoir, one poetry, one fairytale). I have also published a goal achievement series to help people get clarity, plan accordingly, and achieve their goals and dreams.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Faith: Based on A True Story

Like most families seeking ways to bond as a family, our family was in the same position. Add the dynamics of divorce, remarriage and co-parenting and the need to bond increases.

Movies, activities and games were a norm. But when we instituted “cuddle time” into our bedtime routine, our family dynamics shifted. It gave everyone the opportunity to love and be loved, speak and be heard, and most importantly, connect in a noisy world!

It also gave us time to talk about anything and everything–including fairy tale dreams and stories.

In April 2017, while my daughter JD was completing an assignment for school, she challenged me to write a story that kids would want to read. She said, “I already know it will be about achieving your dreams, but don’t make it too serious. Ok!”

I accepted the challenge.
I took a few days to think of a possible story line. Then one night before bed, as we all completed our cuddle time bedtime routine, I ran the storyline by both of them. They immediately agreed and I started writing. They gave creative feedback and edited as I wrote. Within 4 weeks, the rough draft was complete!

It took us nearly six months to decide we wanted to share our story.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes. I only write when I’m inspired. Forcing writing doesn’t work for me.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
The Alchemist, The Greatest Salesman in The World, Unstoppable, J.K. Rowling

What are you working on now?
I am promoting “Faith: Based on a True Story”.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Self-promotion through public speaking

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just start writing. Write what’s in your heart. Write what’s on your mind. Write what’s in your soul. That is what will empower you to complete what you’re starting.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“You strive all your life to be who everyone else wants you to be until you wake up one day and realize that you have failed miserably. And that’s when it hits you. ‘I should just BE ME.’ You are the only person no other human being has the capacity to be!”

What are you reading now?
Goosebumps The Barking Ghost by R.L. Stine

What’s next for you as a writer?
My team and I will be promoting the latest release “Faith” and continuing to build the series for Faith Banks.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Harry Potter Series

Awesome Author - Robin Deeter

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I write mostly Western Historical Romance and Native American Romance, but have a paranormal romance book and a supernatural romance book out as well. There are 6 books in my Chance City Series and my Paha Sapa Saga has 4 books published. I’ve planned for at least 12 books in each series.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m a true night owl and write best in the wee hours. I also write best when I’m playing around on the Internet. I need a lot going on in order to write well.

What are you working on now?
My current work in progress is the 7th book in my Chance City Series, A Very Decker Christmas.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Facebook and Twitter are the best places for promoting my books.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Be your own advocate and explore every avenue to promote your books. This is true for both Trad and Indie authors. Use social media sites, word of mouth, put out a press release in your local paper, and set up book signings. Network with other authors and take care of our readers by offering them the best quality books you possibly can.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t give up, don’t let bad reviews get you down, and let the story be your guide.

What are you reading now?
Where White Men Fear to Tread by Russell Means.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m going to be setting up a couple of book signings this year and continuing to get all of my books in audio book and print form.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Four books by Stephen King that I haven’t already read. That’ll keep me busy for a while if I stretch them out.

Awesome Author - Alicia Scarborough

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
So far I have only written one middle-grade fantasy book. I am currently getting ready to release part one of my New Adult series called CLICK which will be about Crime Scene Photographer who hunts down and captures demons with her camera.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Potion of the Hound was originally called Who Bumbled the Brew but as I was writing the story the title no longer fit. My editor and I worked together to come up with a new name and the hound potion was a constant theme throughout the story.

Where did I originally get the inspiration? I was tasked to come up with another project for my Savannah College of Art and Design portfolio so I decided to try and create an interactive children’s picture book. Little did I know that it was only the beginning of a bigger story. I never did finish the interactive story for my portfolio for I founds another project to fit my needs. However, what I did learn about stories at that time was invaluable and kickstarted the idea for Potion of the Hound.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not as unusual as my peers. Let’s say that I do my best work at 3am on a tight deadline with at least two cans of Monster Zero keeping me going. Yes, I know that’s not a really healthy way to do things but it’s what inspires my muse at the moment.

I am trying to get into the habit of writing each morning at 5:30am so that I can get my daily chapters written.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Patricia Briggs, Yasmin Galenorn, and Jim Butcher have been my inspiration as of late. I love the snarky and sassy characters in each of those books and crave more from the authors.

I would be lying if I didn’t say that J.K. Rowling or even Stephanie Meyers hadn’t influenced me as well because their stuff is amazing too.

I also have to give kudos to my writing coach RE Vance and his awesome series Paradise Lot. He’s been a fantastic mentor and knows exactly how to teach fiction to budding padawans.

I love magic, vampires, werewolves, and things that go bump in the night.

What are you working on now?
I’m already writing book 2 of the Mystical Mishaps Series (the series that Potion of the Hound is a part of) AND I’m writing book 2 for CLICK (the Watchmakers).

I know, two books at one time? OMG. That’s bananas. But I am aiming to publish at least 15 books this year for 2018. It’s an ambitious goal but I think I can do it. So around 9 books for Mystical Mishaps series and 6 books for CLICK.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still trying to get the hang of it :O

Marketing is like my kryptonite so I’m doing my best and reaching out to wonderful people like AWESOME GANG to help teach me the ropes on marketing for the book world. Each market is different so I’m eager to learn.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes, keep writing. No matter what, keep writing. It may seem like junk to you but keep writing for the more you write the better you will get. Get into the habit of writing daily so you don’t end up like me who happens to be writing into the wee hours like a mad fiend just so she can meet a deadline.

If I can do it then so you can you 🙂

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The first 100,000 words we write is crap.

No need to censor it but it’s true. After that point, our skills as a writer improves with each word we put down on paper as we keep honing our craft.

What are you reading now?
Peanut Butter and Passports: Driving Apes, Skivvy Skydivers And Travel Tales From Around The World by Tom Gose

It is a fabulous and hilarious read which is why I’m re-reading it. It just gives me the giggles.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Keep on writing. I aim to get those 15 books written for 2018 and around 11 books for 2019.

I do hope that my New Adult series CLICK and my Middle-Grade Urban Fantasy series Mystical Mishaps does well and attracts the right fans.

Potion of the Hound (Mystical Mishaps Book 1) is the first and my debut novel and so far people have shown that they like it. It’s fun reading people’s comments seeing how they’ve enjoyed the story.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Twilight, Moon Called, Storm Front and Paradise Lot.

Hello! I’m Trevor Carss (call me Trev for short) and I love to write and illustrate modern children’s books. I have written over a dozen, several of which are available on Amazon today.

While recovering from multiple surgeries to restore my limited eyesight, I created these books to inspire everyone to stand out and be different.

If I’m not dreaming up the next story for my community of fans, you can find me training for triathlons, reading books (of course!) or cooking healthy meals in my beautiful hometown of Vancouver, Canada.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is a children’s love story called Two Giraffes, and it was inspired by my girlfriend. It explores the importance of overcoming fear with your loved ones.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?

Eric Carle – The Very Hungry Caterpillar

J.K. Rowling – Harry Potter

What are you working on now?

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I like getting involved with Facebook Groups, and I’ve been recently testing Amazon KDP ads.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write about your life.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Oscar Wilde: “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”

What are you reading now?
Tools of Titans by Tim Ferriss.

Awesome Author - Emily Reilly

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Emily Reilly and I am a 22 year old entrepreneur. I’ve only published one book but I’m working on my second!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My book is called, Saving Ivy. I took me a little over seven years to complete but it was so worth it! I started writing it my freshman year of highschool. I can’t tell you exactly what inspired the story because truthfully, it popped into my head and just started flowing out onto paper. I ended up posting a small snip-it on a website called WittyProfiles and the amount of positive feedback i got was overwhelming! I had hundreds…literally hundreds of people loving the story so far telling me I need to get this published and so I listened to them. If it wasn’t for the girls on that website I don’t think I would’ve ever even thought about publishing a book!

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think so. The only thing I’d say is I put myself down a lot when I re-read my writing. I tend to hate everything I write so I end up re-writing it lol. It seems silly but I guess that’s just me. I re-wrote Saving Ivy THREE TIMES!!!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Alyson Noel is my inspiration. I’ve loved her writing since I spontaneously bought her book when I was in sixth grade! SHE IS AMAZING!!!! GO READ HER IMMORTAL SERIES… Seriously.

What are you working on now?
I’m working on my second book. I’m not going to share the details because I want it to be a surprise for my readers!

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I made a facebook page and an instagram page for my book. I don’t do facebook that often so Instagram is where I met a lot of people who actually ended up buying my book and loving it! They all make me feel really grateful and blessed.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t give up. Simple.

Keep pushing until you are done. There was so many times I wanted to give up and throw my book out the damn window. But thankfully, I didn’t and I’m so happy I kept with it because the feedback I’ve received from my book has been nothing short of amazing.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
‘Stay true to you.’ I live by that advice. If I had listened to all the people around me I would not be where I am today.

What are you reading now?
Right now I am re-reading the Immortal series by Alyson Noel.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I haven’t gone on a book tour or have had an official book signing so I’m hoping that’ll be coming soon. But other than that right now I’m happy with how my second book is coming out and I can’t wait to share it with all my readers.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Of course I’d have to bring my book, Saving Ivy. I’d bring Rich Dad Poor Dad, Evermore, The Last Song.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?

Awesome Author - S.B Nova

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I became a writer because of a twist of fate that happened after university. My mom needed me to stay home and I needed a creative project to work on … Cut to three years later and I published my debut novel, Draken, and created the Southern Fire series. I was at a bit of a loose end after that, but then I had one of those magical ‘ping’ moments where a book just blossoms in your mind and it demands to be put on paper. So … I did. I wrote ‘A Kingdom of Exiles’ and published that a year later. I realized as I was writing it that these two series’ were actually connected, like two puzzle pieces that didn’t make sense on their own.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
A Kingdom of Exiles is my latest book. As for what inspired it … after I finished writing my first book I was burned out. So, I started to read A LOT. And the world of Aldar and the main characters from AKOE just came to life, like the outline of a drawing being colored in, it just appeared from all the things I loved about faerie books.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’m a night owl. I tend to work from 1am to 9am … and I drink a lot of caffeine!

What are you working on now?
The sequel to A Kingdom of Exiles and to Draken!

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Most definitely Amazon itself.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Try. That’s it. I knew someone once who had that tattooed on their wrist and ever since then, I’ve thought it’s one of the best words in the English language.

Just try.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best general advice I got was from a close friend (not a writer), who said, ‘Screw everyone else, if you’re going to do something for the love of it, then write your damn heart out.’

What are you reading now?
Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon.

Discovery of Witches (again) by Deborah Harkness.

Heart of Mist by Helen Scheuerer.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Sky’s the limit!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Lord of the Rings.

Can I cheat and bring the whole boxset of A Song of Ice and Fire?

A Kingdom of Exiles … I know it’s lame to bring your own book, but if I’m on a desert island it’d be good for remembering who I am and what I’m fighting for.

Awesome Author - Tianna Xander

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a multi published author and I have published through several publishing houses. My books have won a few awards, one of the most notable being the ARE best of 2009 award. I’ve written a LOT of books. I think my count is somewhere around 110, but I haven’t been keeping track. You’d have to ask my webmaster that question, as he’d the one who adds the book pages to my website. LOL

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I just completed Tempting the Bears. It’s a highland bears series. The inspiration for it was the trip we made to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula last summer.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
When I’m tired and have been writing a lot, I tend to write in my sleep. Meaning, my fingers are pressing keys on the keyboard while I’m sleeping. One time, I actually wrote a scene that I dreamed. I wish I could do that all the time. Imagine the writing I could get done!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Christine Feehan, S.E. Smith, Lyndsay Sands, Katie McAllister all have played a roll in getting me to write. I’ve noticed I write darker after reading Ms. Feehan’s work and I tend to write lighter, fun stories after reading the others.

What are you working on now?
Book 3 in the Zolon Warrior series is my new project. It should release soon in Kindle Worlds.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I haven’t used much other than Facebook, twitter, and Amazon, to tell the truth. After a few years of writer’s block and not writing much, I really need to get back into the swing of things and see what’s out there now.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. Even when the world gets you down, try to write a little every day. The rejections are nothing. Keep working on your manuscript and perfecting your craft and one day they will call.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Keep writing. You’re a writer. What will you do if you stop, bake cookies?”

What are you reading now?
I’m rereading something by Evangeline Anderson. I love her Kindred series.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I hope to have a Kindle Unlimited release. I’m not sure when that will happen, though. I hope it will be sometime this year.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I don’t think I could choose just three or four. What about my Kindle and Nook with a solar charger? That’s only two book sized items and the charger. See, I can pack light after all.

Awesome Author - Becky Doughty

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Twelve Trivial Truths About Me:
1 – I’m part chameleon. Not because I can change colors on demand (which would be AWESOME!), but because I can move my eyes independently of each other. It gives me a serious eye-strain headache, but it’s entertaining. I may post a video one day ….
2 – I live in Southern California, but I can’t stand the sun. It burns my eyes and makes my skin turn glittery–er, I mean, red. I should live somewhere like Ireland or Scotland where it rains a lot.
3 – Speaking of Ireland, I ran The Dublin Marathon in Dublin, Ireland, in the year 2000. That was my “epic millennial triumph” for the turn of the millennium. It rained the whole 26.2 miles. Chafing and blisters commenced.
4 – I am adopted. It’s pretty cool. I come from nowhere, anywhere, and everywhere.
5 – Speaking of being adopted, one of my favorite pastimes is people-watching. In airports, and waiting rooms, etc., I pretend to read, but really, I look for people who might be my long-lost birth relatives, then I write reunion scenes in my head. Some day, I might publish those reunion stories.
6 – I still read aloud to our 20-something year-old married children after dinner during our weekly Family Night. We like all things Middle Earth, Otherworld, Time-travel, and non-Muggle. We keep it real, baby.
7 – I have a secret that I can’t tell you.
8 – My children have some incredible tattoos.
9 – Book stuff: I love to read historical fiction, but I usually write contemporary fiction. I keep threatening to put out a nonfiction book … but I kinda like the whole … ahem … ‘creative license’ thing with fiction. Baby, I was BORN TO LIE! (Bumper sticker, anyone?)
10 – I grew up in the boonies, so we had no television. But one of our supporting churches sent a shipment of all the Nancy Drew books ever published to us for Christmas one year. No, I wasn’t Nancy. I was George.
11 – Another of my favorite novels while growing up was Louis L’Amour’s Down the Long Hills. I first read it because my dad loved Louis L’Amour, and I wanted to be like him. (Dad, not Louis. Except for the writing a gazillion books and making a living at lying part.) I still have that original hard-back copy in my library.
12 – Speaking of Louis L’Amour, I’m what’s considered a “Pantser” – I tend to write by the seat of my pants. My stories come out of snippets of dreams, from songs, from other books or movies that resonate with me, or out of glimpses of every day people doing every day life. They usually only show up as a scene or a moment in a character’s life, but I rarely map much out until I’m actually writing the book. What does that have to do with my buddy, Louie? During an interview, he shared this: “One day I was speeding along at the typewriter, and my daughter – who was a child at the time – asked me, ‘Daddy, why are you writing so fast?’ And I replied, “Because I want to see how the story turns out!” ~ Louis L’Amour.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Nettles and Nests – Garden Variety Lovers Book 1

I’m a hobby herbalist and I’ve always wanted to write a story about a woman who owns and apothecary and herb farm. This is it! Nettles and Nests is located in a small town called Briarwood Grove, a place populated by people as varied as the plants Lavender Blackmore grows.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I often choose only one song that represents a book to me, and I play that song on automatic repeat when I need to shut out distractions. My brain tends to convert it to background sound so I can work, but it also “subliminally” stimulates my creative juices and helps me sort through the details of a book.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I adore pretty much anything from Kristan Higgins, I am inspired by Sarah Addison Allen’s magical realism, and Carolyn Brown always makes me giggle and sigh. Denise Hunter and Lisa Wingate are favorite Christian authors.

What are you working on now?
Nettles and Nests and the rest of the Garden Variety Lover Series.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Awesome Gang, of course! And BookBub, some of the Fiverr vendors, and My Book Cave – these have the best ROI for me.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t get too attached to your first book. Or your second. Or any of your books. Readers want what readers want, not what you want readers to want.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t get too attached to your first book. Or your second. Or any of your books. Readers want what readers want, not what you want readers to want.

What are you reading now?
Julia London’s Homecoming Ranch

What’s next for you as a writer?
Writing more books in the Garden Variety Lovers series, as well as more episodes of my ongoing Pemberton Manor Serial Novel on Amazon.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
My Bible, Finding Loved Even When Stranded on a Desert Island, Outlander, and the complete collection of Kristan Higgins books.

Awesome Author - J.Z. Foster

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Usually I write what the whispers in my head demand.

“Urban Fantasy. Write a bunch of weird shit and put it in an Urban Fantasy book.”

As you can imagine, I am loath to upset those voices. So right now I have three books, two Urban Fantasy and one Horror.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Mind Wreck is the most recent book, and I can’t precisely describe what inspired it, unless we’re going back to those voices again.

It is a story of waking up to what’s really hidden beneath the world, and seeing these characters experience the supernatural and the surreal.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I just like to pump metal music and let good ‘ole amount of blood pumping through my chest to get things going.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Well, certainly Stephen King, but that’s not a very original answer is it?

I’ve also been influenced by Mark Millar and Brian Keene.

I like my writing (and reading) to be unpredictable and to be surprised by how events unfold. So I love writers that can keep my on my toes and guessing!

What are you working on now?
Currently working on the sequel to my first book, Witch Hunter: Into the Outside.

This will be called, Witch Hunter: Gods and Monsters.

“It’s a lovely night for a witching!”

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I use facebook the most. Come find me there!

Facebook.com/JZFosterAuthor

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep truckin’! This is a marathon, not a sprint.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t let others dictate your story, make it your own.

What are you reading now?
The Variant by Justin M. Woodward.

Dude is a stud.

What’s next for you as a writer?
A round of sequels for all my books!

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an Entrepreneur and so far I have only written one book.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Head Start 2 Riches is my latest book. I was tired of seeing the endless struggle that people are forced to deal with because of the lack of money and financial education.
I was inspired to write a book that would offer a simple approach that will help bridge the gap between the Rich and the Poor.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write a lot on my phone (notepad) and I usually transfer the content to a word document at a later time.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Robert Kiyosaki, Author of Rich Dad Poor Dad had been one of the biggest influence on me.

What are you working on now?
I’m working on my new book title OMW 2 Riches.

This book covers my journey towards financial freedom.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Facebook has help me a lot when it comes to promoting my book.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Learn how to sell and don’t be afraid to promote it yourself.

Don’t expect the book to be so good that it sells itself. Roll up your sleeves and do what you have to do, so that your book has a greater chance for success.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Think out side of the box!

What are you reading now?
Millionaire Success Habits

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m going to finish writing and publish a new book that I’m currently working on.
Once I’m done with that, I’m going to focus primarily on writing content for my new blog:
MoneyMaldonado.com

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Honestly, I love reading books about financial education and self help books, however those would be useless if I were stranded on a desert island. Therefore, I would hope that the books that I have are Survival Books!

Awesome Author - Rachel Dacus

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
As the daughter of a bipolar rocket engineer who blew up a number of missiles during the race-to-space 1950s, I learned that if you dare, you eventually succeed, though there may be mishaps along the way. My writing was deeply informed by my father’s avocation as a fine art painter. Hours of watching him at the easel taught me that art is long, takes determination, and can be quietly exciting.

I’ve been writing poetry and fiction all my life. My most recent book, Gods of Water and Air, combines poems, essays, and a short play about the afterlife of dogs. Many pieces recall my southern California coastal hometown of San Pedro, a town full of European immigrants plying their fishing trades, among them a big Italian population, which may be what drew me to study and visit Italy.

I’m the author of a novel, The Renaissance Club, and Gods of Water and Air, a collection of poetry, prose, and drama, as well as two other poetry collections, Earth Lessons and Femme au Chapeau. My poetry and prose have appeared in Atlanta Review, Boulevard, Prairie Schooner, The Pedestal, and Valparaiso Poetry Review. My fourth poetry collection, Arabesque, is forthcoming in August 2018 from FutureCycle Press.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My debut novel is The Renaissance Club. It was inspired by an art history trip to study the Italian Renaissance. I wrote inspired essays on Italy and art, and one was included in a wonderful anthology, Italy: A Love Story: Women Write About the Italian Experience (Seal Press).

My novel, The Renaissance Club, resulted from that Italian art experience. It’s a time travel story featuring a young art historian, whose specialty is the sculpture of the 17th century artist Gianlorenzo Bernini, and what happens when time bends and they meet. It was released from Fiery Seas Publishing in January 2018 and is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and iBooks.

Some people have asked me if there will be a sequel. At first I said it’s a standalone. But then I got an idea. So stay tuned. I think the magical time travel guide of The Renaissance Club could be popping up somewhere else, perhaps with another tour group.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t know if it’s unusual, but I dedicate the first two hours of each morning to creative work, fiction or poetry or both. I can write in total silence or on a bus bench on a noisy street, but not to songs with words.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Jane Austen, Ann Patchett, Annie Dillard are big influences in style and subject.

What are you working on now?
The Romantics is a novel about two half-sisters who clash over inheriting a cottage on the Ligurian coast of Italy, with its resident ghost of the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. When one sister suffers a tragic accident, each must decide what sisterhood is worth to her.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?

Rachel Dacus, Author & Poet

Do you have any advice for new authors?
People told me that promoting my book should be fun and easy — and I wanted to ask, are you crazy? When there are millions of books out there competing for attention, getting your published book to shine in a spotlight that readers can find seems at first like finding a gold ring that’s been thrown into the ocean. Turns out, book promotion is a snap if you do it the easy and natural way. Starting where you are, with who you are and what kinds of social interactions make you comfortable and seem like fun. Making friends is one of the best ways to create readers, a natural followup to a genuine connection. Social media is great for that. If you’re averse to it, my advice is to find a corner of the online world you can enjoy and feel yourself in. And then explore! And remember that most books are sold one at a time, whether in a bookstore or on Facebook. We new authors are fragile creatures, and we must also remember to let ourselves hide and be creative every day, away from the public eye, and wherever we like doing our work. Some people say the best thing you can do for your last book is write your next one. I believe it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write what you want to read.

What are you reading now?
I’m reading a fascinating novel with historical dimensions called Wrapped in the Stars by debut author Elena Mikalsen. The story is of two female physicians a century apart, who yet share many life and professional challenges. The story of the turn-of-the-20th-century woman doctor is especially touching, for the way she meets those challenges with courage and compassion.

What’s next for you as a writer?
A new poetry book comes out in August — Arabesque. It’s a collection that considers subjects like being creative and making art, following a pathway of self-exploration, coping with loss and grief, and the ranges and dimensions of love. As my website tagline says, “in my world, love always wins.” In some way.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Aside from my one most important book on spiritual principles, I’d take one Jane Austen novel (probably Emma), an English language translation of Marcel Proust’s novel (Wikipedia cites it as the longest novel ever written, making it good for rereading), and the Encyclopedia Brittania.

Awesome Author - Reena Kumarasingham

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Everyone has a story. We are all on an adventure called LIFE. Sometimes the adventure brings to us bounty beyond our wildest expectations, and sometimes it brings us challenges and lessons we need to learn and overcome. Regardless of what LIFE brings to us, we keep jouneying on – exploring, discovering, living.

My books and spiritual practises are birthed from all that I learned on my long journey. My vision as an author is for each individual to be totally empowered as you journey towards embracing and honouring your Authentic Selves, and to be supported as you move towards the new vibration.

Shrouded Truth is my first book and I am working on 2 more at the moment – Illuminated Truth and a third one that is in the conceptual phase.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Shrouded Truth. The first book in the Radiant Light Series, Shrouded Truth takes readers on a fascinating journey through the past life memories of eight souls who experienced lives during the Biblical period. Emotional, and at times dramatic, Shrouded Truth gives readers an insight into the turbulent times and fascinating experiences of those closest to Jesus, and reveals events and information of what happened before, during and after the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Backed by tradition and documentary evidence, Shrouded Truth provides little known information that will challenge previously held beliefs about the Biblical Era. Shrouded Truth also provides another perspective to this timeless story, answers some questions and raises a few new ones.

Radiant Light Series originally came about as an exploration of the past life of one person into one past life. With any explorative journey, we always end up in a different place to where we thought we would. New discoveries are made everyday to shift us off course to continue the searching and seeking. Such was the case here. This exploration of one person’s past life exploded into the fascinating journey of multiple people’s past lives to one of the most recognizable periods in history – the Biblical time – to one of the most popular stories known to us.

Radiant Light Series is more than the study into a religion or into the life of an enigmatic, inspiring person. It is a revelation of the deep spiritual beliefs that was understood and practised more than 2000 years ago. Radiant Light Series is the discovery of the true relationship between the spirit of man and the spirit of the God. It challenges us to look deeply into our inner core and unveil the biggest shrouded truth of them all – our own glorious divinity.

Take this journey with us, as we follow the peaks and troughs of some of the most heartening lives lived. Let their stories fill your hearts, challenge your minds and enlighten your souls. Let their discoveries be your discoveries, their challenges be your guidance, their lives be an impression. Let them remind you that you too are a Radiant Light Being. As you choose to embody the radiant light within yourself, maybe others will be inspired to embrace their own radiant light. Together, your story, their story and the stories from the Radiant Light Series will weave a rich tapestry of evolution and involution of Consciousness that will strive to take us to greater heights of Divine Light and into a new way of Being in the New Vibration.

Radiant Light Series is comprised of three books, and a weekly blog that builds on the books to help us with our involution to being the Radiant Light Beings that we are.
1. Shrouded Truth – Biblical Revelations through Past Life Journeys
2. Illuminated Truth – Past Life Insights into Ancient Christianity
3. The third book is still in the conceptual phase
4. Divine ‘I AM’ Blog on blog.divineaspect.com

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have a sweet little Maltese terrier who sits by me every time I write. Petal is her name. She is my muse, my inspiration. I prefer her by me when I write.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Andy Tomlinson, Brian Weiss, Laurence Gardner, Bart Ehrman, Enid Blyton, David Eddings, Judith McNaught, Kathleen and William O’Gear.

What are you working on now?
I am currently working on the second book of Radiant Light Series – Illuminated Truth. Christianity two thousand years ago is very different to the Christianity that we are familiar with today.

Following on from Shrouded Truth, Illuminated Truth gives us an in depth look into the origins of the teachings of the main branches of Christianity in the Antiquities, through the past life regression of Paul the Evangelist, James, the Brother of Jesus, and Mary Magdalene, the Beloved of Jesus. They take us back on a journey of the rediscovery of three main branches of the teachings of Jesus in the antiquities. Through their memories and recollections, discover the original teachings of Christianity -Judeo Christianity, the lost esoteric wisdom of Christianity – Gnosticism, and how the Christianity that we are familiar with came about – Gentile Christianity.

Illuminated Truth gives us an insight into how these diverse teachings came about, what motivated these teachings, belief systems and philosophies to differ so wildly from one another, how the teachings were received, and what happened to them in the end, in the quest for orthodoxy. Backed by academic research and oral tradition, these regressions open our eyes to a complex and fascinating period in Christian Antiquities, and resurrect the rich wisdom and diverse practises that was once lost to us.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Giving talks to the specific targeted audience. Having reviews in blogs and newsletter.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never take ‘No’ as an answer. Keep pushing through. You birthed your book – stand by it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You are not put on this Earth to please everyone. If you make one person think, you have done your job as an author.

What are you reading now?
People of the Wolf by Michael and Kathleen O’Gear

What’s next for you as a writer?
I have so many ideas percolating in my head. Once I complete the Radiant Light Series… I will be thinking of the next series.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Belgariad Series by David Eddings – that’s 5 books!

Awesome Author - Steven Smith

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am the author of the Tree of Life series of fantasy books and This Sacred Isle, an epic historical fantasy set in Dark Age Britain.

I live in Suffolk, England with my wife, daughter and cat. My writing reflects my love of history and mythology, especially the folktales and legends of the British Isles. My literary influences include the works of Mervyn Peake, Charles Dickens, J.R.R. Tolkien, Richard Adams and George Orwell.

The Tree of Life trilogy (comprised of The Map of the Known World, The Ordeal of Fire and The Last Days) was originally published between 2007 and 2012. An ebook boxset of the complete trilogy is now available.

I am currently writing my next novel, a SF story called ‘Second Sun’.

Aside from writing, I enjoy reading a wide range of books, watching films, visiting museums and art galleries, and spending time with family and friends.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is ‘This Sacred Isle’, an epic historical fantasy. It was inspired by my love of Anglo-Saxon history and mythology, and the landscape and legends of my native East Anglia.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
As I also have a full-time job, I often write at lunchtimes – it helps to keep the wordcount moving upwards!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Two books I read in children inspired me to be a writer: Watership Down by Richard Adams, and The Lord of the Rings by J R R Tolkien. I remember getting lost for hours in both books, and I have been interested the power of storytelling and mythology ever since. I suspect my writing will always have a fantastical element, and that possibly comes from both those books.
In later life, authors such as George Orwell, Philip K Dick and Charles Dickens have greatly inspired and influenced my writing.

What are you working on now?
I am currently writing a SF novel called ‘Second Sun’ – it is set a generation after a successful alien invasion of Earth, and as well as being an adventure story, also explores themes of identity and personal freedom.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Social Media (Twitter especially) is very helpful at reaching out to readers and other writers.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Read regularly and widely (in a range of genres) to get a good feel what kind of writing you like. A good editor is also a must!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
A research trip to a library or museum is the best cure for writer’s block – this is definitely true for me!

What are you reading now?
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman – it has long been on my ‘to-read’ list and I am enjoying it immensely.

What’s next for you as a writer?
The current priority is completing and publishing ‘Second Sun’. After that, I have plans for a fantasy novel set in 1940s Britain – I only have a vague outline so far, but watch this space!

I also want to blog more regularly, to share my experiences as a writer and pass on any tips / lessons learned.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Lord of the Rings
Revolutionary Road
Nineteen Eighty Four
David Copperfield

Awesome Author - April A. Taylor

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve written four novels and countless short stories. I’ve published one novella to date but have several more publications planned for 2018!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Vasilisa the Terrible: A Baba Yaga Story was inspired by the original fairy tale, Vasilisa the Beautiful, along with the greater Baba Yaga myth. Baba Yaga is often seen as an ambivalent character, as opposed to strictly evil, so I wondered what the story would look like if she was simply a misunderstood spinster. I also wanted to examine the relationship between each character’s physical appearance and how this would impact the way people view them.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
My earliest influences were John Bellairs and Edward Gorey. Other notable influences include Clive Barker and, more recently, Josh Malerman.

What are you working on now?
I’m juggling several projects right now, including the next book in the Midnight Myths and Fairy Tales series and an untitled horror novel. I’m also excited to be working on something completely new – Missing in Michigan: Alexa Bentley Paranormal Mysteries Book One.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write something you love because you’re going to spend an exorbitant amount of time living in that world. Promoting it once it’s done will take even more time and energy than writing it, so be prepared for that reality.

What are you reading now?
The Faithful by S.M. Freedman.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I have several projects that will be released in 2018, including The Haunting of Cabin Green, which is a very dark, modern Gothic, psychological horror novel.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’d rather take my Kindle loaded with books and a solar charger. But if that’s not an option, I’d choose Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Bird Box by Josh Malerman, Saga Deluxe Edition Volume 1 by Brian K. Vaughn, and Imajica by Clive Barker.

Awesome Author - Kevern Andrews

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have a passion for working out and enjoy sharing my personal experiences with others who want to get ripped. In February of 2018, I co-founded 6 Life Media because I plan on publishing many book (not necessarily fitness related) and also venturing into documentaries, animated movies, and other media. So far, I’ve only written one book, but I plan on writing several more about fitness.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My first and latest book “How to Get 18-Inch Arms Without Steroids: An Interview With A Natural Bodybuilder” was published in March of 2018. My desire to make a difference and help other people wanting to build arm muscle naturally inspired me to write the book.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think so… I usually write at night.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Dr. Joe Vitale’s books influenced me to take action and share my experiences with the world.

What are you working on now?
I’m working on a book and online course about how your mindset affects your ability to get the body you desire. Since I’m a Certified Law of Attraction Practitioner, I realize there are many mental components behind fitness that many people don’t realize.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I haven’t really figured that out yet.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just get your content out there. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just publish it. The longer you wait to publish your work, the harder it will become to actually go through with publishing.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
That everything we face in life is a reflection of ourselves. We have to change ourselves to change our situations and lives.

What are you reading now?
“At Zero” by Dr. Joe Vitale

What’s next for you as a writer?
I have a few more ideas for some fitness books, then I may venture into another genres.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I would just take one book: “At Zero” by Dr. Joe Vitale. I would try to figure out what I did to get myself in that situation of being stranded on the island, then fix myself to change my situation.

Awesome Author - Scott Maitland

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am Scott Maitland. At the age of three, my mother told me over and over that I was the next “Steven King” (Steven King is my mom’s favorite author). I hope I haven’t disappointed my mother.

This is my first book. I’ve always loved writing and storytelling, but I never got serious about writing books until recently. I’ve written two other short books beside this one, and those were also self-published on Amazon. I consider those books “test” books. I unpublished them ultimately, because they weren’t of a high enough quality for me to put my name on.

I plan on writing for a very long time. I will write about various topics as I’m compelled by many things. Thanks for checking out my book. Get your free copy from 3/6/18-3/8/18.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
War with North Korea: North Korean Leader (Kim Jong Un) Annihilated was inspired by my journey to learn more about North Korea than I was hearing in the mainstream news. I have studied and watched North Korea intensely for many years.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Everything I do is unusual.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
$100 Startup

Rich Dad, Poor Dad

Cashflow Quadrant

What are you working on now?
I am working on my next book about North Korea. The next book will expose the connection between Iran and North Korea and explain why Russia is our biggest threat if a war between the United States and North Korea breaks out.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am new to book promos.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
I am new. Therefore, my advice is limited. I need to succeed as an author before I can comfortably offer advice to others.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Follow your intuition.

What are you reading now?
Rereading my own writings all the time.

What’s next for you as a writer?
More eBooks, web development, freelance writing.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
A basic survival book with instructions

A book of poisonous plants and wildlife

The Bible

Awesome Author - Kezia Arterberry

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Kezia and I am an Author, Inspirational Spoken Word Poet and Behavioral Health Technician. I’m a Phoenix native and graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2015 with a BS in Psychology. Post graduation, I’ve worked in the Behavior Health field and have found it to be both challenging and rewarding. I have written 3 books, a short-story romance, a book of spoken word poetry and self-help book on mindset transformation. A little bit more about me.. I do have a pet, my baby girl is a chihuahua-pug mix named Dutchess. And, she definitely lives up to the name! I am also a proud cheesehead. I loove my Greenbay Packers!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Empower You is a motivational – devotional designed to escort you through 70 days of mindset transformation. There are 70 days, each with a new topic that will challenge your current way of thinking and help you to develop a more positive and optimistic perspective in life. So, if you struggle with negative thinking, setting goals and sticking to them or if you just feel stuck
in life and feel like there’s something more you should be doing with your life, then this book is for you. Its a great place to start and offers stepping stones to success. I share tips and techniques that will help you improve in multiple areas in your life. The only catch is that you have to be willing to commit and to do the work! What inspired me to write this book? To make a long story short, a couple years ago, I attended a Get Motivated Seminar and soon after attended a Gerry Robert 3 day workshop called Publish a Book and Grow Rich. That workshop inspired me in ways I cannot explain. The information I learned went beyond learning how to write and publish a book and make money from it. I learned things about mindset and success that changed my entire outlook on life and how we live it. Ever since, I’ve been on a mission to share the knowledge I learned and
more, because I’ve seen results in my life, after applying the information that I learned.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think I necessarily have any unusual writing habit. But, I will admit that I am pretty spontaneous when it comes to my writing process. I’d definitely describe myself as a go with the flow writer. I tend write upon impulse. As soon as I am struck with inspiration, I have to pull out a notebook or even the notepad on my cellphone and just start writing away. Otherwise, I find myself stuck with writers block if I try to write at any other time.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
There are so many individuals who inspire me! From family, friends, to well known influencers. But, the one I’d like to highlight is Brian Tracy! Brian Tracy is a very well known author, motivational speaker, self-development and success expert
and I feel so lucky, blessed and fortunate to have a review of my book Empower You, by THE Brian Tracy himself! I love reading his books and have learned so much on topics that I have become very passionate about.

What are you working on now?
I am preparing to launch my new book entitled Empower You! Mindset Transformation: A Daily Devotional for the Mind.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I think its important to collect testimonials and book reviews and to encourage your readers to post their reviews on amazon, goodreads and sites where your book can be purchased. A good way to promote your book is to reach out to book bloggers and influencers on social media, such as Instagram, who are in your niche and can promote your book to their audience.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Always write with passion and try not to be a perfectionist. I think its great to want to do things well, but it’s also important to remember not to allow our desire for perfection to hold us back from sharing our work with the world. Sometimes, the imperfection is the transparency and authenticity that our readers are looking for and may be the very thing that allows you to stand out from the crowd.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I’ve ever heard is.. Just do it! Yes, the Nike slogan. I don’t know about you, but I’ve always struggled a bit with overthinking things and letting fear dictate my future. But, when I intentionally decided to operate out of a “just do it” mindset, without allowing myself time to overthink, I find myself accomplishing things that I wouldn’t have otherwise accomplished.

What are you reading now?
I am currently reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill!

What’s next for you as a writer?
In the near future, I would love to start up my own blog and write some guest posts as well. However, I am currently preparing to launch my new book, Empower You! And, I am prepping for a virtual tour for my book as well.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Oh that’s an easy question to answer! First and foremost, I would have to bring my Bible. And then, I’d bring a copy of Flowers in the Attic, My Sweet Audrina and Whitefern, written by my favorite author, V.C. Andrews. Her books are thrilling, mysterious and really keep me sitting on the edge of my seat. It is rare that I find books that I don’t mind re-reading over and over again. But, V.C. Andrew’s wrote books that not only keep me on the edge of my seat, but that also leave me wanting more. I can definitely re-read those books anytime.

Awesome Author - Marty McMorrow

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an ex-healthcare professional who saw Hendrix and South Vietnam before my twenty-first birthday. After completing a graduate degree in Behavior Analysis, I worked for 38 years in human services with people who are considered to be disabled, although I didn’t consider them much different than everyone else I have known. I have written four Professional/Trade books, two memoirs about the late 1960s that I think of as living history, and my newest work called “Spectating: Becoming Witnesses of Life.”

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My new book is titled, “Spectating: Becoming Witnesses of Life.” I have been contemplating this book for nearly 40 years – ever since I read B.F. Skinner’s “Beyond Freedom and Dignity.”

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Others would have to be the judge of that.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
B.F. Skinner’s “Beyond Freedom and Dignity” and Hemingway’s “Old Man and the Sea” above all others.

What are you working on now?
I am outlining a new book about what I have learned from some of the amazing people I have met/treated along the way. These are people that most others will never meet because they live in segregated/excluded environments due to what others see as their unusual behavior.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am not particularly skilled at promoting my work. Mostly, I use Facebook and email.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
They told me to write what I know, but I am not sure that is always the best advice.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“If you don’t do anything different than you have ever done, things will remain as they always have.” (Unknown, but certainly not me)

What are you reading now?
ALI: A Life

What’s next for you as a writer?
Consistent with the primary message of “Spectating,” I am expecting to find out soon.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I only need three: “Beyond Freedom and Dignity,” “The Old Man and the Sea,” and “Spectating: Becoming Witnesses of Life.” Thanks so much.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I serve as the communications pastor at Church Without Religion, and I am the social media director for Andrew Farley Ministries.

I have a Bachelor of Christian Ministry degree from Wayland Baptist University and a Master of Arts in Theology degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.

This is my first book.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“The Cross worked.”, comes from being burned out on the mixed messages in the Church. God wants us to know how much he loves us and that what He did for us actually worked. We do not have to fear the day of judgment. Instead, we can have confidence because Jesus has taken away our sins.

Awesome Author - Vivien Valentine

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hello!
I’m a young writer of Erotica and soon Romance (The romance is in the works as we speak). I love silent nights, self-confident men.
I currently have two books “The Dark One” and “The Bold One”. They are a part of mini-series of cuckold one-shots.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“The Bold One”. It’s a funny story, I went out to get some fresh air after college and went into this, how to say it, questionable bar. It sure wasn’t as edgy as the one in the book, but the waiters were a delight to look at. That’s when I started thinking how their boss must look like, all smug and alpha…
And what I would do to that hunk…

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to write during lectures. It’s pretty weird that I’m the most productive at doing something I’m not supposed to.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
That’s a tough one. I mostly prefer Japanese writing in it’s original form. I believe the genre is called “Junbungaku”. But I have no specific authors that influenced me. I was more mesmerized by the power/magic of the words than the people that wrote them.
Plus a lot of Modernist writing reflects in my work.

What are you working on now?
The third and the last onesie from the cuckold series called “The Older One”. It’s a tale about a fresh college student that loves her neighbor’s Dad.
But that’s all I’m going to say about that for now 🙂

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Free promotion works great, if the sites are kind enough and it’s not packed there.
Otherwise I love networking and organically getting my pinned post retweeted by my followers. I always thank them if they do, because I’m really grateful for every single retweet.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write, write and write a bit more.
Then finish it.
There’s nothing more to that.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If you stop, you rob yourself of every chance that you could possibly have.

What are you reading now?
A short modernist story “Odour of Chrysanthemums”

What’s next for you as a writer?
Write romance and eventually cross over to Visual Novels.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
人間失格、Building a boat for dummies and two installments of 御神楽少女探偵団.

Awesome Author - C. L Cunningham

I started writing very young. Short stories and chapter books about my friends and my life. I moved on to fiction as I got older and realized that I’m in love with telling a story.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
It Was All A Dream was inspired by my true feelings for a remarkable person. I’m a hopeless romantic and the universe just lead me to the final destination of writing how it feels to be drawn to someone else in today’s world.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m normally a when the mood hits me sort of writer. I’ve been making a conscious effort to write at scheduled times so I can complete my next novella.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I grew up reading Beverly Clearly books. I identified with the Ramona series. From there I was hooked on Sweet Valley High books. I’m recently getting into more science fiction.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I find that my blog and social media have given some great promotional tools. I’m happy that I stumbled upon this website also because it allows me to broaden my horizons.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t give up. It’s hard to believe that your words will touch someone else but the gratitude that I receive when someone tells me that they enjoyed my book makes it all worth it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write because you love it not because you want to get paid.

What are you reading now?
I’m currently reading How to lose a husband By Toya Wright

What’s next for you as a writer?
As a writer and blogger I see myself writing more and getting better at it . I’m chasing my destiny with my dreams in toll.

Awesome Author - Eden Walker

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a South African writer who writes hot, humorous and heartfelt romance fiction. I’ve done a steamy African romance series for Ankara Press (two titles), as well as erotic romance for the City Nights Series by Tirgearr (one title, with sequel in press).

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
One Night in Venice. Actually, it was inspired by watching the movie Unfaithful (which I recommend) at a time in my life when true sexual passion was lacking. I had this fantasy about a man who is sex-on-legs, and about being unable to resist him physically. It’s a force that changes your whole life. The rest, the love story and the suspenseful plot twists, spring from there. But at the heart is desire.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Well, I write in bed, but I don’t think that’s unusual! Yesterday I started my day with my feet in a hot soak of aromatherapy oils, under my desk while on my laptop. My feet were under the desk I mean, not me (that would truly be unusual). It was grand. Right now I’m listening to subliminal music for success on YouTube! Which is why this interview is going so well. But I can’t listen to music when I write; I can’t hear the book then, if you know what I mean 🙂

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’m a big Marian Keyes fan and am currently working my way through all her books, eight of which I own. I think Rachel’s Holiday and Anybody Out There are my favorites. I love light romance that tackles really heavy subjects like addiction and death! Can you believe it, I had never read her before I became a romance writer. Now I read her to switch off and zone when I’m not working on my own stuff. What a pleasure.

What are you working on now?
I’ve just finished One Night in Denpasar, the sequel to One Night in Venice. In fact, I’ll be submitting it to Tirgearr today. With all my books, characters from the first appear in the second, and so on. So there will be a One Night in Maputo. Can you guess which character I’m taking forward? Clue: black lace bustier. From One Night in Venice, Kate Pollock’s friend Ana Ortensia is the one to watch: Bali is her adventure.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m a big fan of Twitter, its immediacy. I like blogging too. I have a Love Blog which is all about living a love-filled life. As I’m a psychologist (and an actress, go figure) and a person in recovery, I do a lot of how-to-do-life-better stuff. We were born without the manual, you know? We all need some help.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Oh yes. Enjoy it. The more you love your work, and your characters, the more you’ll all fly. See my Love Blog on this.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Just open the document.

What are you reading now?
Sushi for Beginners by Marian Keyes (of course).

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ll be blogging in the self-help field under a different name – but if you’re clever you’ll be able to make the links. Then I’ll be writing a book (that handbook we spoke of) aimed at young people needing some orientation as they hit their twenties – when, in my experience, the poo usually hits the fan. On the fiction front, I have two new manuscripts for Ankara, and a possible third publisher for more erotic romance. Watch this space.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Sophie’s Choice by William Styron – I’ve read it twice, so I know I can do it over and over again.
My Marian Keyes box set. Yes, that’s cheating. But stranded is stranded and I can’t live without Ms Keyes.
I also loved The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Can I take the movie too? Haven’t seen it yet.
And Room by Emma Donoghue. So I can cry when I need to.

Awesome Author - Marty Myers

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an aspiring fantasy writer who currently has two and a half books written and one published. I have been an avid reader and a fan of fantasy and science fiction stories all my life. I read four to six books a week on average. I have often thought of writing my own book and after years of putting it off I finally took the plunge.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My book is called The Dungeon Con. It was inspired by litrpg and dungeon indie authors/stories that have been coming out on Amazon the last three or four years. I have read almost all of the dungeonesque books that have been coming out and I really enjoyed almost all of them. But I felt like there was still a lot of interesting concepts and themes that have yet to be explored in these stories so I set out to write at least one of them.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think I really have any unusual writing habits honestly. I often listen to music as I write and snack on peanuts while keeping an ear out for my two children getting into trouble.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have loved books all my life and read so many of them. Roger Zelazny’s Amber series is one of my all time favorites. Ann McCaffrey’s Dragon Riders of Pern is another long cherished series, Issac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Lois McMaster Bujold, author of the Miles Naismith Vorkosigan series is another great favorite. Newer authors I enjoy include, William D. Arand, Blaise Corvin, Luke Chmilenko, Jeffrey “Falcon” Logue, and Dakota Krout. There are many many more but those are the ones that come to mind.

What are you working on now?
I am working on writing the second Dungeon Con book which I intend to be a trilogy and trying to finish editing my second series ” Loki’s Daughter, the Opal Dungeon” which I am hoping to publish here in the next month or so.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Honestly I am still pretty new to this and haven’t been around long enough to be able to give you a good answer to this. Facebook groups dedicated to the LITRPG subgenre have probably helped me out at this point more than anything else I have tried but there is still a lot I haven’t even got around to try to promote my book yet.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
write , write every day and keep on writing. I heard this a lot from others and its true the more you write the better you will get at it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
write , write every day and keep on writing.

What are you reading now?
I just finished reading Dead Man gaming by A J Markam and just before that I read, William D Arand’s Dungeon Deposed. I enjoyed both of them although of the two the Dungeon Deposed would win out if I had to choose.

What’s next for you as a writer?
keep writing, keep learning, keep improving and I definitely must find a good editor I can afford. I wholeheartedly want to put a lot more polish on my books from here on out.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
If I could make them compendiums that the Amber series would be my first choice. David Gemmel’s Legend, I love Druss and that’s my favorite book wit him in it even if it does start at the end of his story. Richard Roberts Please Don’t Tell My Parents I’m a Supervillain. and Austin Grossman’s Soon I Will Be Invincible.

Awesome Author - Elizabeth Forest

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve completed 5 books, either fantasy or science fiction. I have a YA alternate history fantasy coming soon after The Third Kind of Magic which I wanted to publish first since it was close to my heart.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I get tired of seeing so many traditionally masculine fantasy books, some of which seem quite sexist to me, being marketed to children. I wanted to write about a world where traditional society means, as it often did, that women had their own sphere of influence, not better or worse than the men’s, but maybe mistrusted by Outsiders who have a more traditional, patriarchal culture.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think so. I do like to start out writing longhand, it seems to use a different part of my brain than typing does. The flow is different.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
So many it would be impossible to list, but I will say that as far as witches go, Terry Pratchett’s are my favorites.

My biggest influence as a child was Dr. Doolittle – I fell in love with a world where children and animals were considered just as important as white male Englishman – and so were Africans and Native Americans. Pretty radical stuff. Oh yes, and talking animals of course. That’s a direct influence on this book. The impulse to communicate with other life.

What are you working on now?
I am revising the sequel to *The Third Kind of Magic* which will outline other kinds of magic not addressed in the first book, and take on the power struggle between the old and new cultures directly.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am still learning about that, so I am reluctant to offer advice. Nicholas Erik’s free guides have been enormously helpful to me.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep going! Don’t be discouraged! No one knows what you’re capable of doing, not even you.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Our taste and vision always extend beyond what we can do today. Our task is to keep moving in the right direction.

What are you reading now?
I finished reading *The War I Finally Won* a few days ago. I was skeptical an American could pull off a British war story, but I think she did it. And what kids’ will take away from it has nothing to do with whether the British slang was exactly right or not — it’s a very moving story about a young girl developing from being the one who needs others’ help to heal from her own miserably abused childhood to being willing and able to help others. Great stuff.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Just finding time to write on the next books – I have a sequel planned for my YA set in Restoration England also. With pirates!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Ha! First off, a survival manual. I don’t remember how to purify water…

So hard, but I would have to say *Lord of the Rings*, my favorite Terry Pratchett book (which changes, but might be a Tiffany Aching book…) and this may sound weird, but *The Reawakening* by Primo Levi, the sequel to Ecce Homo, the first Auschwitz book. It’s such a hopeful, joyous book. And a book of Buddhist teachings. All of that might keep me sane and healthy.

Then maybe a collection of Virginia Woolf’s essays.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a thirty year plus law enforcement officer, a twenty-eight year volunteer firefighter, and a sixteen year volunteer emergency medical technician. While assigned to major crimes for fourteen years I specialized in child abuse investigations. I love children and feel it is our duty to protect them. I always wanted to be a children’s book writer. My books target six to twelve year olds but I have had teens and adults enjoy them. I started attempting to be published in 2014 and have been writing the series since then.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is The Spruce Hollow Gang The Salem Witch Hunt Adventure. My first eight books have been recently released on Amazon/Kindle available in ebook or paperback. The children in our gang are twelve year olds who share a desire for excitement, adventure, and history. They travel to historical events to help others in need. Many times their own safety is at risk. I began the series because I feel our children and teens are inundated by sex, violence, drugs, and alcohol. I wanted to write a series that is good, clean fun.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really, I do spend a lot of time researching historical events I can adapt to the gang’s adventures. You might say my books are altered history to a certain extent. However, they teach actual historical facts as well as values like friendship, loyalty, and honesty.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Carolyn Keene who authored the Nancy Drew series and the Hardy Boys which were basically written by ghostwriters. I wanted my series to be reminiscent of these type mysteries which were clean fun for all children and early teens.

What are you working on now?
I have a book, the ninth in the series in the works now. I will not release it until the books are in the public’s eye.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have an authors page through Amazon/Kindle and am working on setting up a website at this time. My author page is linked to Facebook and Twitter.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Writing the books is the easy part. Hopefully there will be a way to get your books publicized without having to pay for a high dollar agent or expensive advertising. I will say beware of many so-called traditional publishers. First of all from what I have seen they will not give you the time of day. Many self-publishing companies will draw you in and then charge you for every little thing.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
I really have not had much help. It seems everywhere I have turned there are false hopes.

What are you reading now?
Currently I am not reading anything. I can say one of my all time favorite novels is Something is Alive on the Titanic.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I have been working on a novel and may attempt to publish it in the future. Right now I have to find a way to publicize my Spruce Hollow gang Series. If not I will be out of luck because I just do not have the money it takes for an all out advertising campaign.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Something is Alive on the Titanic. Stephen King’s Christine. The Bible.
