Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi there! My name is Amy Marie and I’m a first-time author developing a new fiction/fantasy saga. I’m about to release book two of the Statera Saga: Quintessence. I’ve lived all over the United States, but Ohio will always be my home. I’m a huge fan of all fiction, and am always looking to get lost in the relaxing escape of a good novel. I’ve worked several years for a major book retailer, and now enjoy a career in aviation as an air traffic controller. I’m a sucker for an old-fashioned good versus evil story, and the cuddles of my dog Brutus.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Quintessence is the second book of the Statera Saga. It’s the sequel to the first book Reminiscence. There is one more book in the Saga that will be released in 2018. This series was inspired by my favorite fairy tale, Beauty and the beast, but I twisted the story into an urban fantasy setting and twisted in a philosophical and metaphysical quest. I’m so happy with how the story has developed, it practically wrote itself! There is so much action, intrigue, romance, history, and mystery. It’s a perfect balance, which just so happens to be a repeated theme in the series!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I love to snack on hello kitty fruit snacks and drink tea whilst writing. I can’t watch TV or listen to music because I really immerse myself into my fantasy world.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love Diana Gabaldon. Her books probably set me on the path to thinking I would like to write a whole saga. But also, I’ve mirrored my style of Chanda Hahn because I love fairy tales. But most of all, I’m doing my best to develop my writing to mimic one of my favorite writers and friend Raymond St. Elmo, his novels read like poetry.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on book three of the Statera Saga while also developing a few side projects/novellas revolving around the series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I do my best to promote my books wherever anyone will listen to me! I have active Twitter, Facebook, Instagram accounts as well as my own website and blog. My book release events are generally on Facebook.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
My honest advice is to find a handful of your favorite authors and try to mirror their professional practices. When you keep moving forward pretending like you know what you’re doing, one day you might just realize that you’re doing things right!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t Quit.
What are you reading now?
Currently reading The Origin of Birds in the Footprints of Writing by Raymond St Elmo. I’ve read most of his books, and I’ve decided to go back and read his first. It’s not in any way disappointing!
What’s next for you as a writer?
Next, I have some ideas for a dystopian novel. I’d like to try to change things up from the Statera Saga, so I really haven’t been developing it too much until I get this first series wrapped up!
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Princess Bride (to keep my spirits up)
Outlander (in case the island has some stones I might fall through)
Pride and Prejudice (for lonely nights)
Hatchet (because hopefully it would give me some pointers on how to survive!)

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I just published book number six! Yay me! I’ve given several of these interviews and nothing changes. I grew up in mid-Missouri on the north side of the Missouri River. I have lived on the south side of the Missouri River since I married my husband almost 37 years ago. He is a fifth-generation farmer and we continue the ‘family enterprise’, these days, raising cattle and crop farming several hundred acres. We have two grown sons who are married to two wonderful women and we have the two most fantastic grandchildren in the entire world.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Time to Deceive (Sweet Pea II) will be available for pre-order from Oct. 5-thru-Oct. 7, 2017. Oct. 7 is the official release date. Price is just 99 cents
Description of the Sweet Pea Trilogy: To one man she gave her virginity; to another she gave her heart. One, she would mourn. With the other, she would share life’s triumph and turmoil. With both, she would endure times of love, and passion and complete happiness as well as times of despair, confusion, and sorrow. One day at a time—each day, building unforgettable memories.
Sweet Pea II: Time to Deceive (1973-74): Getting married means you’re going to live happily ever after with your true love. Right? Unfortunately, for Johnie, the first thing she learns after marrying Phil is the necessity of deception as she conceals her love for Jake. Fate continues its cruel intervention when members of Johnie’s family meet untimely death and Jake returns to mourn the loss of his sister. Jake and Johnie reunite briefly, painfully, in determination to adopt their four-year-old nephew, B.J. Together, they tackle the on-going vengeance of Phil’s sister, Brenda. Johnie’s dream of happiness becomes a nightmare where Brenda cackles while Johnie boils naked in a cauldron of pea green soup. Because of Marsha’s return and steadfast loyalty, Johnie is able to endure even the most unthinkable.
This is the blurb for Demise of Innocence (AVAILABLE FREE Oct. 5,6,7 2017!)
Sweet Pea I: The Demise of Innocence (1968-70): At seventeen Johnie is no longer a child but still full of virgin innocence—and defiance. Her final year of high school isn’t exactly a picnic as she endures the untimely deaths of two friends and a rocky relationship with a jealous boyfriend. A third friend disappears on Prom Night. The summer after graduation, she encounters her first ‘real’ love and the loss of her virginity to a soldier bound for Viet Nam. By fall, she discovers the world of factory employment. As fate intervenes in every avenue of her life, throughout the harsh winter of 1970, she learns growing up involves a lot more than physical loss of her virginity.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t consider anything about myself unusual. I’m just me that writer-nut who stays up till nearly dawn when the muse hits. Actually, I do my best writing between 10 PM and 4 AM
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have several favorite authors such as Katheleen E. Woodiewiss (author of my favorite book of all time, Ashes in the Wind) and Nora Roberts, Sandra Brown, Sherrilynn Kenyon, John Bowers, Newt Gingrich, Dan Brown. I read both fiction and non-fiction. Lately, I have concentrated on the work of Indie writers, like myself
What are you working on now?
In November I plan to publish number three of the Sweet Pea Trilogy. I am currently still working on edit/corrections/rewrites for it
Sweet Pea III: The Price of Passion (1984-1990)
Time has come and gone, years pass, Johnie’s children are growing and she has learned to accept her parents’ untimely death. Her friendship with Marsha continues to thrive. By the time ‘the 70’s’ become ‘the 80’s’, Johnie has also built an enduring relationship with her mother-in-law, Amie. Her marriage to Phil is a sham. Although they tried, they were never able to rekindle the trust they once shared. All those years, a secret part of Johnie’s soul survives. Then, Jake returns and fate strikes several more dramatic blows. Once again, everything changes.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I believe interviews like these and those promotional websites (such as Awesome Gang and Pretty Hot.com, Book Reader Magazine, Book Goodies, etc) go a long way to promote authors and their published work. It also helps to belong to a number of writer groups such as The Heartland Writers Guild or FaceBook groups like Kindle Book Worms, EBooks and Bookreads or Awesome Gang and Linked-In. Amazon has a number of ways to help authors promote their books. Many of these sites are free.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just do it. No one is going to be able to pull that story from your brain and put it on paper or computer page but yourself.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write. Finish that story. It doesn’t matter how many times you have to rewrite to perfect that story. Getting out of your mind and onto a physical entity like a computer screen or notebook page is the most difficult of the entire process.
What are you reading now?
I’m between books right now. I tend not to read anything deep or heavy or that might somehow connect to my current work while I’m working. That guarantees that my work is mine and mine alone.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Once The Price of Passion (Sweet Pea III) is published I plan to return to my Birds in Peril Series. Book number V Wise, Bold Eagle is partially written. I just have to get back into the story.
I also have notes for a number VI possibly titled The Bluebird of Happiness
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
My kindle (right now it has about 30 books on it) and hope there is a way to charge the battery on that island. And my Bible.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m 23 years old and have just finished my BA in English Literature. I love music, travel, cooking, writing and snowboarding, among other things. Mard is my first book, which I also illustrated. I wrote it with my younger brother, Joe, over a weekend or so – the illustrations took a bit longer!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My book is called Mard, which in the simplest sense was a name that came about from Joe’s illegible hand writing.
My brother and I were inspired to write it initially as a surprise for our friend Max’s 21st birthday – we’ve had a running joke between us for years linking Max to this idea of Mard as a clumsy but well-meaning polar bear. This came about when we all went bowling together, quite a few years back, and Joe wrote our names down to be put into the score-screen thing. His writing was so hard to read that Max’s name somehow became Mard on the scoreboard. Our imaginations ran on from there. Mard was a name that seemed to need to be spoken in a low, slightly sad, Eeyore-esque voice – like a forlorn polar bear. From then, and over the years, funny or ridiculous things that have happened to Max we imagine to have somehow involved an input from Mard. We had this imaginative formula and the story just ran from it, and old jokes between two brothers.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not sure how unusual this is, but we basically wrote the story by speaking it to each other over the course of a couple of days. As Mard is a children’s book we really wanted to capture the story in language that was at its best when read aloud. We wanted the language to be soft and rhythmic and so telling the story to each other, over and over, and writing it down as we went, seemed the best way to capture this.
It was also important to us that the illustrations resonated with the language in the book. We had the text almost completely done before we sat down and planned the illustrations – they needed to be inspired by the language so that they worked best with it.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
In the case of writing Mard we looked back to the picture books that were most memorable to us from when we were kids. The two that really stood out were Little Bear’s Trousers by Jane Hissey, and Let’s Go Home Little Bear by Martin Waddell.
Let’s Go Home was probably our biggest influence. The language and illustrations in it are quite delicate and sparse, they leave room for imagination to transform. It’s about a little bear walking through the woods with his dad, big bear, and how the sounds he hears transform into creatures – the plods of their feet become the sounds of Plodder, and so on – it’s got a really simple premise but it becomes really comforting and magical. It’s such a favourite that everyone in the family just knows the book as ‘Plodder’.
We tried to capture some of this magic of imagination in Mard. We have this simple premise that repeats itself: that Max is unaware of Mard who is doing something to try to help and get a cuddle, the outcome for Mard is a clumsy one but somehow Max comes out being celebrated by his friends. We wanted to have that same gap between the real events with Max, and the imagination taking hold with Mard, and to make them come closer and closer together.
What are you working on now?
We have some plans for a few more Mard books as we think that clumsy polar bear has more stories to move around in, plus, we had so much fun writing the first.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
We’re pretty new to this, so couldn’t really say at this stage. I’ve been getting the hang of Twitter, which seems like it could be a great way to promote as we build more followers and I get better at resisting the urge to tweet really obscure jokes, links to weird music and Bob Dylan references.
If you enjoy any or all of those mentioned above, though, check out our Twitter while I’m still learning to control myself!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I’m still a pretty new author too, but I’d probably say keep returning to the essence of what your story is – the spark that began it, like the moment bad handwriting turned Max into Mard.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
I really can’t think of any, though perhaps there’s a lesson in there, something like: always listen to advice, even if you don’t decide to follow it.
What are you reading now?
I’ve just finished rereading Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian, and have just begun Moby Dick.
What’s next for you as a writer?
It’s far too early to tell – I’ll just keep on writing things. More Mards, maybe a novel or some such thing one day.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Blood Meridian – mentioned it above I know, but its still fresh and I think it’s one of the most amazing pieces of writing I’ve read in ages.
The Lost Books of the Odyssey by Zachary Mason – a book full of short reworkings of pieces of the Odyssey myth. It’s endlessly intriguing and puzzling and really beautiful at the same time.
Collected Raymond Chandler – Chandler writes really fast paced, witty and sharp detective stories. Also, because they’re not really about finding out whodunit in the end, they have great reread value.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am the author of a Culture Crime Series that includes GOLDEN ICON (The Prequel), MASTERPIECE and BOOK OF HOURS. The last book in the trilogy FINAL SCRIPT will be published in Spring 2018.
I have also published a love story ELLIE BRAVO and a book of short stories RED SHOES. I am publishing my second book of short stories BEDTIME READS in October 2017.
My background is in travel and tourism and I use my experiences of living and travelling abroad and knowledge of locations as an integral part of scenes in my novels.
My Culture Crime Series allows me to develop characters and to explore right and wrong whilst writing about our world heritage, art and ethnicity.
I have a blog about how I write my novels and the research involved and a weekly blog on Bedtime Reads. https://janetpywellauthor.wordpress.com/
If you would like to join my Readers’ Groups simply sign up and download MASTERPIECE for free. http://www.subscribepage.com/janetpywell
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I went through a period a couple of years ago when I couldn’t sleep. That was amazing for me as I’ve always been able to close my eyes and drop off without a worrying thought or even a good book to read.
I could have slept on top of a pinhead but now, things have changed.
I’ve changed.
After a day at the computer or wrestling with some new online marketing I’m exhausted and far too weary to pick up a book and re-read the same pages from the night before especially when I’ve often forgotten about the characters and the plot. So I wrote short stories based on the sort of stories that I would like to read. Sometimes funny or thought-provoking but not sad.
I am about to publish a book of short stories: Bedtime Reads. This book consists of seventeen short stories based on relationships. Each individual tale spotlights a variety of compelling characters revealing their tangled emotions and complicated dreams.
These bite-sized page-turners show the lengths to which some people will go in pursuit of happiness or revenge. Written to entertain, amuse and stir your emotions, these enticing narratives will provide unexpected plot twists that may keep you reading into the early hours.
From romance to murder, this exceptional collection of thought-provoking short stories is an enjoyable feast of evening bedtime treats…
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write in a variety of places; local coffee shops, hotels and the town library. Most often I write at home with my cat Tango peering over my shoulder and my labradoodle puppy Teddy at my feet. I have to make the most of the quiet times when they are both sleeping. Sometimes if it’s been a particularly busy day or I can’t sleep I get up in the night and write on the sofa as I don’t want to disturb my partner or our Japanese student.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I try to read an assortment of books. I like variety and something unusual especially with a good plot twist that I didn’t expect. Sarah Waters did this in Fingersmith which was very clever. I also like Stieg Larsson’s Lisbeth Salander as a protagonist and the action of the Dan Brown series – both of these authors have inspired me to write and use international locations based on where I have lived or visited.
What are you working on now?
I am working on the final edits for BEDTIME READS due for publication on the 30th October and I am rewriting parts of FINAL SCRIPT the third and final book in my CULTURE CRIME SERIES featuring Mikky dos Santos who is brilliant, idiosyncratic and loves to break the rules.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am using GOLDEN ICON (the prequel) in the Culture Crime Series as a free book to encourage readers to download my book. I also use BookFunnel to offer MASTERPIECE free for a limited time if readers would like to join my READERS’ GROUP mailing list.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. Keep on doing what you love.
I would also recommend Nick Stephenson’s ‘Your First 10K Readers’ course for Indie authors.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Offering your first book/chapter/character profile for free to readers is like giving away cheese in a supermarket. It gives readers the opportunity to get to know you and sample a flavour of your work.
What are you reading now?
I’m reading No Man’s Land – David Baldacci
What’s next for you as a writer?
I am working on my next Culture Crime Series. I am getting ideas for a new protagonist and themes for a new protagonist and I may base my books on true cold cases.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible.
The complete works of Shakespeare.
(Is that cheating?)

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a nationally-recognized strategic leadership coach, author, motivational speaker, retreat facilitator, and executive search consultant with over 35 years of experience leading, connecting with, and inspiring organizations in the nonprofit and medical industries. I am an expert in board governance, leadership development, philanthropy, and succession planning, and work with leaders of nonprofit organizations that want a more motivated and cohesive board and inspirational leadership that provides a more engaged strategic vision. I have written five books.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called A Guide to Recruiting Your Next CEO: The Executive Search Handbook for Nonprofit Boards. The positive social impact that the nonprofit sector has in our society is very important to me. Seeing the baby boomer trends in professionals retiring and the need for new leaders with new competencies and skills to step forward, I saw firsthand the number of great nonprofit boards struggle with the issues of recruiting their next CEO. I thought this book would help contribute to their success by providing a roadmap forward.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think I have any “unusual” writing habits, but I do know that my biggest challenge is starting the first paragraph in each chapter. It all starts with a blank piece of paper. After a few starts, my writing begins to flow and the rest of each chapter follows easily thereafter.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The one book that really inspired me many decades ago was Profiles in Courage by JFK, our former president. His book inspired me to dream to someday write down some notes that might mean something important to others. There are many other contemporary writers on the nonprofit sector also inspire me. Dan Pallotta, Steve MacLaughlin, Jason Saul and Heather Mansfield are also inspiring writers for the social impact sector.
What are you working on now?
Not officially started, but beginning to do research on writing a new book about encouraging young men and women to pursue careers in the nonprofit sector at an earlier age. There is great opportunity to both do something socially impactful and good for your family’s economy. It bothers me that not enough of educational institutions do not focus on this. I was the founder of the Center for Excellence: Leadership, Governance and Philanthropy at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, but we need more undergraduate and graduate schools in this area and more high school guidance counselors to “wake up” and promote careers in the nonprofit sector too.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I think posting on social media with LinkedIn and email distribution through Constant Contact has been my best way in the past to promote books, but not sure. That’s why I hired my publisher.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes, do it, write a lot. Whether fiction or nonfiction. Be determined to succeed, don’t get discouraged in the publishing world. Do it for the love of it.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Best advice I ever got was to ask for advice and not a job when I came out of graduate school. I asked for advice and got a job.
What are you reading now?
The Power Formula for LinkedIn Success, Wayne Breitbarth.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Relax for a week or two. Continue to write articles, blogs and books that hopefully inspire others to make a difference in the lives of others.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve written a ten or eleven books, mostly in WriMos over the years, but only started getting them out there this summer when my little one was born and I decided it was time to put my books to work keeping him fed. Some of those trunk novels might never see the light of Amazon, but I’ve got four up right now and more coming soon.
Most of my books focus on the end of the world through different causes, like aliens in two different ways (Redskull Invasion series and Hunter: A.I. Apocalypse), massive failure of technology, and vampires and plague (yes that last is proper grammar, magical plague and vampires in one book)… haven’t tried the zombie thing yet, though that might be fun after I finish the two alien series.
When I’m not writing, I do triathlons. I am actually an ironman triathlete (140.6 once and 70.3 three times so far), but I still feel like a total n00b on the bike.
I’m also a grad student working on my dissertation in Spanish linguistics. If anyone’s curious about that, I’m looking at teaching stress placement and if it helps make you more understandable as a non-native speaker.
Also, my husband and I belong to two 55 pound balls of fluff named Minnie and Daisy — we don’t like Disney at all… no, why would you say that
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The most recent book I published is called Hunter and it started with one scene that I wrote about ten years ago now (does that make me old? It makes me feel old). And then, that scene expanded and expanded as critique groups asked me different questions about it.
At the time, I was training for my first half ironman and was biking along the American River Bike trail in Sacramento. I was kind of amazed at how wildlife and everything butt up against the suburbs and the city, and so I wrote a scene of someone hunting the deer there. And well, since I’m apparently obsessed with the end of the world, of course it was after the apocalypse.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think so. I tend to write when I can squeeze it in, in short bursts here and there if I can… I like it quiet or somewhere where there’s a hum of background noise so I don’t get drawn in. I can’t write with music or anything the tv on, I get too distracted.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I was totally in love with Anne Rice in high school. That may be why there are vampires in my books.
Anne McCaffrey’s Freedom Books are definitely a huge inspiration for the Redskull Invasion series (compare the Catteni and the Eosi to the bluemen and the redskulls).
Also, I inhaled the James Axler books Outlanders and Deathlands when I was in six and seventh grade, I think that’s a big part of what tipped me into the apocalyptic genre. Though who knows.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on editing some of those other ten (okay, eleven, but the very very first is lost forever) trunk novels. The next one I’m planning on getting out there, Children of the Snake, is the second book that I wrote, the first being lost forever… seriously, I wrote it umm… seventeen years ago when I was in high school and it’s just gone. I don’t even have the laptop I wrote it on and it was written in Jer’s Novel Writer, which I don’t think even exists anymore.
*ahem* sorry, I digress. So, I wrote this book in JanNoWriMo 2006. It incorporated a few dares from there, like a character who is synesthetic and is about the end of the world brought about by vampires and a magic plague. I’m pretty excited to be getting it edited and published. I’m hoping to have that up and running by November (2017).
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m just getting going. That said, please do check out my website, melcorbett.com and join my email list if you want to find out more and get some free short stories.
I’m also on Facebook at Facebook.com/MelCorbettFiction and twitter as @Mel_Corbett
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I am a new author in the publishing sense, so not much advice there yet. Maybe once I have some more success.
In the writing sense, BIC HOK TAM (I don’t remember what writing group I took that from over the years, it was a yahoo! group at the time, it stands for Butt in Char, Hands on Keyboard, Typing Away Madly). Also, I like to make one liner brief notes about what happens in a scene, like what the turning point of the scene is and plan it out with Scrivener what needs to happen to get me to the end.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Advice in general? Have an idea of what you want and go for it, making lots of course corrections along the way.
What are you reading now?
The Core by Peter V. Brett.
It’s the most recent book of his Demon Cycle series. I pre-ordered when I finished the last one, and it appeared on my kindle last week. I’m totally consumed. It could be our future some five thousand years from now when demons destroy our modern civilization.
What’s next for you as a writer?
After I get the trunk novels published, I will be writing the sequel to Hunter. Then I’ll probably write either the more books in the Redskull Invasion series or maybe more in the Hunter series.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Only three or four? Umm…. that is a great question. I think I’d die with only three or four. I’m so spoiled with my kindle and basically limitless books.
Right, so then, I’d probably go with at least one non-fiction book about how to survive a desert island… because I’ve been totally all over the non-fiction how to books lately. And well… I might be overly practical/literal.
Then maybe some paranormal or contemporary fantasy—like Ilona Andrews, and then, as much as I might disagree with his politics, Orson Scott Card’s Formic Wars or some good space marines stuff.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I grew up thinking reading was a chore, but one day in my 30’s I picked up a book, read it, enjoyed it, and continued to finish the four book series. After a decade of reading I decided to give writing a try. I’m not an award winning author, but I have stories to tell. I’ve written 13 books under two different pen names, and participated in a few anthologies.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Salty Beaches, it’s a sporty college age tale with new adult angst, promiscuity, and college life. I’ve spent the last two decades on soccer fields with my children, and began writing this when my own daughter was away at college. So I combined the two worlds into one and Salty Beaches is the result.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I need complete silence, and I dim the lights. Helps me to focus.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Every book I’ve ever picked up and read, it’s not just one book or one author. It’s the whole world of fiction.
What are you working on now?
I’m in an anthology for the Sexy and Sassy book signing, which I’ll be attending next summer in July 2018 at the Norfolk waterfront. Here’s the link to add to your TBR list:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36187196-the-sirens-with-sass-anthology
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I announce it on all of my social media sites, and my newsletter. Then look for free ads, and once a month I utilize paid ads where they advertise my on their website, and newsletter. The paid ads usually work best.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write a little every day, and don’t stop reading.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Try, try and try again.
What are you reading now?
Her Devoted Hero, by Caitlyn O’Leary. I’m a sucker for Navy SEAL’s.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I have a paranormal novella series that I’m finishing up with alternate endings. I couldn’t decide on just one!
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’d grab something from my TBR list with five stars, a book of inspirations to keep my morale up, Gone with the Wind, and some kind of romance anthology.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a stay at home mom to twins. In my spare time (HA!) I enjoy writing the stories that have lived in my head for years.
Currently I have one book published with another on pre-order and plans for several more over the next few years at least.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Come Back to Me is my latest book that will be debuting Nov 2017. The inspiration for this story came about part way through book one when a secondary character decided his voice need to be heard. The Hero is inspired by a fellow author and veteran who has touched my heart, as well as the countless men and women that serve our country daily.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
They don’t seem unusual to me, though I do tend to writing at odd times. I actually had a character’s voice ringing so loudly that I woke one morning before everyone else in the house and sat down in front of my computer to let the story unfold.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Nora Roberts, hands down is one of my absolute favorite authors. Her stories made me fall in love with reading (again).
Books like Fifty Shades of Grey and Crossfire also fueled my desire to let those character’s voices be heard.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on an anthology submission that is due out in Jan 2018 – that is a spin off story from the Come Back To Me Series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Facebook has been huge for me so far. It helps me interact with my readers and learn from other authors.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t give up! It sounds pretty basic but there will be times when you will want to walk away – do it, but only for a moment. Then come back and keep going.
Find your tribe. Seriously. Even before you are reading to hit publish, get to know authors and readers. Interview editors. And don’t be afraid to test out more than one pro. Sometimes you just aren’t a good fit. That’s ok!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Get the words out. Don’t re-read. Don’t edit. Simply write. Get everything out in the first draft. THEN go back and re-read and tweak things.
What are you reading now?
I’m currently reading some client work (when not writing, I am a personal assistant to a few authors.)
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ll be attending my first signing next year, I’m very excited about that.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Oh this is pure torture. Does a boxed set count as just one book?

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Kelechi Agu. I’m a Nigerian Author of creative, fictional books. I’ve published four books. The Gauntlet of Feona.
The War of Two Realms.
The First Decenary and
The Russian Connection.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I’m currently working on a series called Phaser. I’ve finished writing the first book, titled “The Gaian Revelations.” Growing up, I was both a Trekkie and a Star Wars fan… especially Star Wars. I have always loved the idea of deep space inhabitation and the potential political, social and possibly metaphysical dynamics such an existence brings. That’s what I explore with Phaser.
I’m also working on the third installment of my Curse of The Seventh Sword Series, after The Gauntlet of Feona, and The War of Two Realms. It doesn’t have a title yet. I’ll think of one soon
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I can’t sit and write. LOL. I have to lay down on my tummy, prop a pillow under my jaw and then type away at my laptop. I know it is terrible posture but somehow, the picture is clearer like this. I guess it is unusual.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Robert Ludlum
James Hadley Chase
Sidney Sheldon
J.R.R. Tolkien
What are you working on now?
Phaser and the third installment of The Curse of The Seventh Sword series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still figuring this out. However, I do find that connecting with my readers on a personal note helps. It is fun for me to talk to my readers about my books, answer their questions and listen to their ideas. It is genuine and uplifting. It also has the benefit of promoting my books.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Whatever you do, don’t.stop.writing.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Persevere
What are you reading now?
There’s a lovely story on Wattpad called The Tendrils of Fate. What makes this book so wonderful, apart from its breathtaking world building, gripping plot and memorable characters, is that it is written by two authors. A collaboration. That is never easy. Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi, I never intended to become an author. I’ve been a part-time soldier, worked in a bank, been an engineer in The Royal Navy, and served as a Police Officer in Lincolnshire, UK. I gave it all up to work as a SCUBA Instructor, travelling the world, following the sun, season to season. Now, in later years, I have chosen to write about my various adventures. I currently live in Staffordshire, UK, with my wife and two daughters. I have only written one book to date, but there are others in the pipeline…
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called, “Beyond the Waves: My Royal Navy Adventures.” It was inspired my me… It is the first in “The Memoir Series,” a series of books recounting various adventures throughout my life. This first volume tells of my years serving in the Royal Navy, travelling the world, and the adventures encountered along the way.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not that I know of…
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Anything by Dan Brown, Alistair MacLean, and of course, JK Rowling.
What are you working on now?
I am currently working on volume two of my memoir series which covers my years in the Police Force. It is in the very early stages at the moment.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am a brand-new author, so I am still in the experimental stages when it comes to promoting books. Anything, and everything is a valid means at the moment.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing – worry about the formatting, promotion, and marketing at a later date.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Just Write…!
What are you reading now?
“The Girl in the Ice.”
What’s next for you as a writer?
To complete my Memoir Series of books and get them successfully promoted, then to move on to writing a thriller style novel based on my experiences.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’d need to think about that one…

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a single mom of three boys, living in Austin, Texas. I worked in IT for over a decade before moving to education. I’ve dreamt of being a writer since I was 10 years old. It’s been a long road getting to the point of finally publishing an actual novel, but I finally made it. I’ve written two novels and one novelette. The novelette is based on Moira’s Song and provide back story to one of the book’s main characters. The second novel is currently in the editing stages and isn’t available yet.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is titled Moira’s Song. I started writing it in 2008, shortly after my youngest was born. For a long time I struggled with it. I kept writing but everything felt wrong. Three years ago, my oldest decided to format the hard drive on my computer without telling me. Wiped it clean–including Moira’s Song. I sat in the living room, crying over all that lost work when it hit me. Moira was a vampire. That’s why it felt wrong to write about her as if she were normal. When that inspiration struck, I finished the first draft in 5 weeks.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Sometimes I talk out loud while I’m writing. While I have the basic idea of the novel plotted in my head, a character will often break out and do something unexpected. Something even I didn’t expect. But it always fits and makes the twists and turns that much more exciting. That’s when you’ll hear me lean back and say, “I can’t believe that just happened!”
What authors, or books have influenced you?
By far, the biggest influence has been Anne Rice. After that, Stephen King and Neil Gaiman.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently editing a tech thriller and writing the second book in the Moira series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Word of mouth is great. I’m still working out the kinks on the rest of it.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write. Read. Write. Read. And then write some more. Even if all you have is thirty minutes that day, write. And don’t try to edit on the first draft. It can destroy the creativity. At least for me it does. I had some days that were so hectic, my writing time was while I was waiting in line to pick up my children from school.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Stephen King wrote a book called ‘On Writing’. It was the single best book about the process I’ve ever read. If you want to be a writer, read it. I kept trying to fit into the mold of someone who outlines. It didn’t work for me. He doesn’t outline either. When I realized he didn’t, it freed me to allow my creativity to take over. But that doesn’t work for every writer. The important thing is to find YOUR method and use it.
What are you reading now?
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman and Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I have 4 books planned for the Moira series. I’m working on the second book and plan on releasing it early Spring of 2018. Then it’s straight to work on book 3 and 4.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
That’s a tough one. I like to hoard books. Interview with a Vampire. All the Pretty Horses. And the Harry Potter series. Of course, that series alone puts me over the limit.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I live in Western Canada with my hubby and 2 of my 3 kids. (Oldest is now living on his own.) I never thought I’d be an author as I spent most of my life working with horses/racehorses and selling my animal artwork. I love Riding, Drawing, painting, photography, and of course reading. I read a book that really frustrated me and decided to write my own book back in 2008. I have now written 6 books and one Novella.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I have 2 actually. Dracones Rogue, it is the 5th in my Dracones Series and is about the big bad wolf, Soroyan, or as my daughter calls him, grump wolf. He’s devilishly handsome, sexy and as much of a lone wolf as he can be and still watch over his pack.
My other releases in the Scorched Boxset and is called Saberthorn, it is a spin off series of the Dracones.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I tend to have a few books going at a time.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Sherrilyn Kenyon and JR Ward are my biggest influences. I love their large cast of characters and multiple POV’s, and have done my books in that same way. I try to make my characters as loveable as Sherrilyn’s and JR’s. Others that have influenced me are Seanan McGuire, her October Day series. She made me realize that anything can go, even stones can talk, just very slowly! Author Donya Lynne has also been a great influence and huge help in my writing career.
What are you working on now?
The 6th book in my Dracones series, along with the 2nd book in my Dragonkind ~ 52 Realms series, plus about 3 other books I have started, though I am focus my concentration on the first one I mentioned.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Newsletter swaps seem to really help, along with a Bookbub feature when I can get one.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t listen to anyone who says you can’t do it. Just do it.
Even if you hate plotting or don’t do much, I highly recommend Debra Dixon’s GMC, (Goal, Motivation, Conflict) to make your characters & structure stronger. It is easy to make up a simple chart and use it. Also, KM Weiland’s Structuring your novel. I don’t do much plotting myself, just a GMC chart & a very basic arc, along with a timeline, but KM Weiland’s book has a ton of extra little tips, (hooking your reader, etc)
Make sure you have a hook in your first sentence, paragraph, and all the way through the first chapter to keep your readers reading, wanting to know more.
I spent months in a group called agentqueryconnect.com, and the learning experience was invaluable. So often, I see blurbs that give away too much of the story so that you don’t need to read it, or it just doesn’t hook you. Learn to do your blurb right, there are many resources out there on how.
Make sure you have a handful of decent beta readers. I give mine a questionnaire as well. You don’t know how to find any? Join some author/writing groups on FB, ask other authors whose books are in the same genre as yours to help. A friend and a favorite indie author of mine, Donya Lynne helped me get my first bunch of Beta’s from her own beta’s/readers.
Build a street team, they are invaluable! Get reviews. There are tons of places on FB to find people to review, but make sure it is in your genre.
Hire a good Editor! Be careful, try & get a referral to a few good editors, as some have just slapped the title to their name and sound like they know what they are doing. Get a SAMPLE edit to make sure you can work together. I now have a question I ask any editor I am considering. I ask them to explain Passive/Active writing, and some understand the basic, but not what passive/active writing really is and that there are times that passive voice is fine.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Mainly, write, write, write and join FB groups/get involved in the reading/writing/book promo community. You have to promote yourself, no one is going to do it for you, unless you can afford to hire a PR company. Find reviewers, give them ARC’s of your book and then follow up, don’t be afraid to ask if they liked it and would they mind leaving a review. Then ask them to join your street team, and build that up.
Don’t take bad reviews to heart. I generally use them to make my books better.
What are you reading now?
nothing at the moment but will be starting Sherrilyn Kenyon’s latest book. Deadmen Walking.
What’s next for you as a writer?
My Dracones Series is ongoing, along with my spin off series. I have done my first 2 books in the Dracones in Clean versions as well for my daughter and other teens/young readers. I have a Y/A series I want to write along with a Fantasy/Dystopian book. I’ve started a book about the Ferryman, not sure if it will be a single book, or series. I am working on getting my books produced in Audio.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have been writing since grammar school. In fifth grade, my class produced a one-act play that I had written.
As of 2017, I have authored or co-authored twelve published books, but because four of them were for a Japanese educational publisher, they will never be seen in my U.S.A. homeland.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Co-authored by Mary Sheldon, my latest book, “The LGBTQ Meditation Journal,” was published by MLR Press, this month, October 2017. It is the fourth volume in Mary and my Meditation Journal series. As a lifelong meditator, and a former teacher of meditation classes, I suggested to Mary that we spotlight the special needs of the LGBTQ Community for our fourth meditation book.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write consistently, eight hours a day, five days a week, forty-nine or fifty weeks per year, most commonly not starting my workday later than seven in the morning, but sometimes, beginning at five-thirty in the morning. My kind of consistency and writing discipline is unusual in my profession.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Mary Baker Eddy, Jane Roberts, and Norman Vincent Peale, among other authors. I love metaphysics and the aforementioned authors have blown my mind with books including, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,” “Seth Speaks,” and “The Power of Positive Thinking.”
What are you working on now?
I am currently working on “The Coming of Beth,” the second novel in my Minnow Saint James Metaphysical Adventures series. This novel is a tale of past lives, disembodied book authors, ghosts and poltergeists.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Generating reviews from print and Internet publications aimed at Book Lovers works best for me. But my national hardcover best-seller, “Re-Creating Your Self,” also gave me a fan base.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I recommend writing only to those who love it passionately and also have a good amount of self-discipline. Otherwise, you will likely be similar to so many people I know who talk year after year about the wonderful book they are going to write while actually producing nothing.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
In this life, you can have anything you want. You just can’t control the price.
What are you reading now?
“The Nature of Personal Reality” by Jane Roberts. With one book
What’s next for you as a writer?
With one book just published and a novel in the works for Early 2018 publication, I am not sure. It could be a third Minnow Saint James Metaphysical Adventure, or it may be a nonfiction work.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
“Science and Health With Key to the Scriptures,” “Seth Speaks,” and “Re-Creating Your Self.”

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a career journalist but I have a deep passion for writing fiction. My debut novel, A Long Road Home, was published in 2015. Since then, I have written a short story collection and a novella.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Sacred Hearts is a novella that was originally published in the short story collection, Casting Shadows. It was inspired by a trip to Paris I took shortly after the release of my first novel.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I make myself write every day and if I’m not currently working on anything, I’ll still give myself a short assignment, something like: a page of dialog concerning two people arguing in a New York City bodega.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I tend to read older fiction and am particularly drawn to post WWII work. John O’Hara, who happened to be from my home area, had an ear for dialog that was unrivaled. He’s certainly influenced my work.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on a non-fiction book regarding musicians struggling along on the club circuit.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
The tagline in my weekly column at the newspaper contains a link to my fiction work, which has been immensely helpful.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write all of the time, especially when you are not inspired, and never think you are done learning how to write.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Discover what you love in life, and find someone to pay you to do it.
What are you reading now?
I’m rereading, Saul Bellow’s The Adventures of Augie March. Bellows is another masterful writer who’s work has inspired me deeply.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m currently working on adapting my book, A Long Road Home, to a screenplay.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
If I were to be limited to that few I’d pick my favorite long novels. Perhaps, Infinite Jest, Gravity’s Rainbow and Don Delilo’s Underworld

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m Ed and I live in a bubble of my own making in the sunny southwest of England.
I’ve been playing with writing for a while and have just launched my steampunk novella series The Crimson Blade onto Kindle.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Providence Engine is the first in the series and the initial concept came when I was looking out over an old railway station in the south of England. The country used to be full of them but lots were closed down in the 1950s and 60s. I began to think what the world would look like if steam had continued to be the prominent source of power – Lo! I had invented Steampunk (if only it hadn’t been invented about 20 years before – but I didn’t know that then…). Many late nights and early mornings later I had crafted the Crimson Blade
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I drink the blood of a bat and morris dance to the sound of Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’.
Not really – just a cup of tea.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
HG Wells, Philip Reeve, Philip Pullman, Edgar Allen Poe, Tim Burton and Cory Doctorow.
What are you working on now?
The next series! I want to write a paranormal series set in an England gone by.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Facebook groups and weirdly, Linked in. Yeah, I know – who knew?
Do you have any advice for new authors?

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Give up now, you don’t have a chance.
Gladly, I managed to ignore it.
What are you reading now?
This website questionnaire.
Oh you mean books? Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. I’m late to the party but wanted to get in before the Speilburg film in 2018 sullied it.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Probably another cup of tea.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Big floaty ones that I could use as a raft.
Oh alright then I’ll play. The complete Paddington by Michael Bond, the Mortal Engines quadrilogy by Philip Reeve, The Stand by Stephen King (not read it but I figure I’ll have the time) aaaaaaaand… A great big blank one so I can write in it.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
This is my first book being written.
About Author
Kiyoshi Terrell Fish was born in Youngstown, Ohio. He is one of 14 brothers and sisters and his parents have been married for almost 50 years. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 2002 and holds an associate’s degree from Kent State University, a Bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and a Master’s in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. He still lives in Phoenix, with his wife, and two daughters.
Kiyoshi currently works as a social worker with the Department of Child Safety and owns two businesses; Sports Unlimited Services, LLC, which helps student-athletes obtain college scholarships and a Sports Agency called Unlimited Sports and Entertainment, in which he acts as a scout and agent for professional athletes.
Kiyoshi’s favorite quote is “as you travel the highway of life, face the future with confidence and appreciate everyone that comes across your path in life, because everybody is somebody that somehow plays a part in your purpose here on earth.” This quote has played a part in the book that Kiyoshi has written, called Highway of Life, which is a self-help title aimed at helping people find their purpose and guide them on life’s journey.
When he has time to relax, Kiyoshi likes spending plenty of time with his family. He also has an eclectic range of interests, from planting flowers and playing chess, to watching sports and playing video games.
He also believes in charity and giving something back to individuals and communities who are less fortunate and his company helped to sponsor the “Zuris Circle Feed the Community Event” which does exactly that.
In the future, Kiyoshi’s hopes are to write more books and watch his children grow into responsible young women. He also dreams of traveling around the United States in an RV when he retires and plans to become a full-time Agent in all sports.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Battlefield of the mind, by Joyce Meyers. This book showed me for the first time how important the mind plays in how we live our lives. The mind is where our thoughts begin and end.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I usually write late at night. The night time for me is very relaxing, and I find that a lot of thoughts come to me during the night. I love peace and quiet.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The bible is the book that I will never stop reading and I constantly use it on a daily basis. Dr. Myles Munroe is another author that influenced me. His books inspired me to look into the concept of “purpose” and the meaning of it. I also am a big fan of TD Jakes, Joyce Meyers, and Stephen King
What are you working on now?
I am working on a book called, “Let’s Chance it”. This book is about a couple who has experienced the worst in life, and came together to make big things happen. This book will deal with a lot of societal issues currently present, for example, racial relations, etc. It’s a work in progress.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I found out that create a space has been very helpful. Writing your book is one thing, promoting it is even more work. Trusting the process is key.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you want to write a book, write something you feel passionate about. Writing from passion makes the writing, or message even more clearer. Also, write something that you are comfortable with.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Aim for the moon, and if you fail, you will still be amongst the stars”. This has taught me to work hard, and set goals. Each and every day is a chance to be better.
What are you reading now?
Reflections of my Higher self, by Joseph Danna. The book was excellent!
What’s next for you as a writer?
I plan to continue getting word out about, “The Highway of Life”, and also start working on my next project, “Let’s chance it”.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written 5 books – all in the Instinctive Living self development book series.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book in the series is ‘Gratitude Amplified: Transformational Ways To Magnify Success And Harness The Power Of Attraction’.
I was inspired to write it because I often see a lot of unnecessary barriers to entry for people wanting to develop themselves and their spirituality.
I also wanted to identify the important relationship between gratitude and attraction.
I am a big fan of the law of attraction, however many of us misunderstand it, and as a result, we push what we want further away from ourselves.
I also wanted to focus more on the energy and less about the matter that seems to matter to many of us.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not sure if they are unusual, but I do like to get myself prepared by thinking and reflecting on my book/s before I write them. I focus on the topics at hand and work from there.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I mostly read non fiction. Most recent book was Tom Campbells ‘My Big Toe. Wonderful book.
And a man who ticks all the boxes re the blending of science and consciousness.
I tend to read books that find me – books that I have been guided towards so to speak.
I have never really had a lot of authors I read a lot of books from, but Dr Wayne Dyer, Robert A Monroe, Stuart Wilde, Gary Zukav, and the Dalai Lama, come to mind re reading one or two books from the same authors.
I’m more influenced by guidance and what books happen to present themselves to me.
What are you working on now?
I am currently working on more books in my Instinctive Living self development book series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I think Amazon is wonderful.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
My advice would be more from the position of being a life coach:
Write what you love and what inspires you. Deep inside of you, you have a message or three that you can share with the world….or at the very least share with yourself.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“The best advice isn’t always the best advice…”
What are you reading now?
For the moment it’s my books!
What’s next for you as a writer?
More writing and promotion.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Probably really big ones.
Since I recently read it, I would say ‘My Big Toe’ would be one.
A couple of ancient spiritual texts (the usual suspects) might be a good choice.
And an extensive survival guide.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi, my name is Jean-Philippe Ricau, I’m French and I have been living on the beautiful island of Cyprus for more than 20 years, where I act as a registered dietitian.
I help and coach people with their weight issues, teaching them nutrition basics and making them emotionally stronger.
My 20+ years of experience have shown great success stories, a few failures (let’s be honest), but mostly success.
Today, after having proudly helped more than 20,000 clients from different nationalities and cultures, my enthusiasm is still intact and I’m still moved by the strength and willingness that people put to improve their lives and health.
Each client who reaches his goal is a massive satisfaction for me.
Losing weight does not require much effort, but remaining in shape requires the utmost motivation.
At least a client per day asks me whether I have healthy recipes to share with them, some new dishes out of the ordinary.
Some other people find cooking intimidating or even time consuming.
Cooking your own meal is a big step towards weight loss and my first book <<Healthy recipes for women in heels & men in ties>> offers healthy and easy recipes that you can cook in 5 minutes.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Losing weight and keeping it off seems like an eternal struggle.
50% of cancers are linked to poor eating habits.
These are the 2 reasons why I wrote my second book <<Lose weight without dieting: a nutrition guide>>.
Misconceptions and misinformation are everywhere. On one side you have the food industry selling bad foods to consumer, on the other side you have Holywood fad diets with their huge marketing budget, trying to sell quick and unhealthy solutions to people.
In my latest book, I explain how people can eat healthier and lose weight naturally (and keep it off too!) by following a few simple rules, without effort, frustration nor elimination.
As an added bonus, the book come with a one-week healthy meal plan.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really. I don’t drink nor smoke while I’m writing. Is that bad?
What authors, or books have influenced you?
– Changez d’alimentation by Prof. Henri Joyeux (the book is in French)
– How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
What are you working on now?
I am now busy promoting by second book <<Lose weight without dieting: a nutrition guide>>.
I am taking care of my patients.
And I’m planning to work on some videos for Youtube (in which I will talk about nutrition). You can already find video recipes on myfrenchdietitian’s Youtube channel.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Awesomegang is definitely effective. I got very good results from my last promotion.
Goodreads is efficient too.
Smashwords has a good affiliates network.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you want to be a writer, write, never stop. Write everything that comes to your mind. If you feel stuck, write through it until you feel your creative juices flowing again. Once done, read, edit, improve.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
<<The world is not waiting for you. Don’t live in your own bubble. If you want something, you need to go get it.>>…my Dad.
What are you reading now?
I’m now reading Mastering Bitcoins by Andreas Antonopoulos.
I’m quiet tech savvy.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Not sure. Maybe another cookbook.
I would also like to write on how you can prevent/cure diseases with food.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’m very practical so I would definitely take some survival books with me (how to fish, build a wooden house, etc..) and one of my photo albums.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a former scammer turned activist. Educating people about romance scams is my passion. I am an avid writer, but this is my first published book. I obtained my BA in Political Science from Simpson College in Indianola, IA and graduated Magna Cum Laude. In my free time, I run my blog Romance Scam News. I now reside in Kansas with my husband and two cats.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My book is called Homegrown Romance Scams; What they are, How they Work and How to Avoid Them. I felt a calling to turn around my past and use it for something useful. I found out that people on the dark web are selling guides teaching people how to scam. When I found out about this, I was disgusted and became determined to do something to educate online daters.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t know if it’s unusual, but when I write it has to be done the old fashioned way on pen and paper first. After writing it with pen and paper, then I type it on my computer.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
My favorite author hands down is Steven King. I was influenced by books in general. As a kid, the library was my favorite place to go. I could spend hours there just hanging out with the books. I’m still that way; I just love books.
What are you working on now?
My next book is going to be a romance/horror/thriller.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never stop, do what you love.
What are you reading now?
Right now nothing, I’m just too busy to read at the moment.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I just love travelling. My friends said “Hey, Brian, you’ve been to all these amazing places, why don’t you write about them”. I did, I started in 2009 with Following Marco Polo’s Silk Road that has now sold over 5,000 copies. Then I started writing eBooks. Each book is about one of the adventures that my wife, Jill, and I have had. We’ve been to over 80 counties and now have over 60 titles. These include 52 on Amazon and the Smashwords ones are currently being upgraded and republished soon
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The two newest titles are Outback Adventures in Queensland which is the story of two weeks in the Queensland (a state of Australia in the North East) outback. It hasn’t rained there for 6 years. There are blue blue skies every day. This part of Australia has many cattle stations (ranches) and an amazing but tough lifestyle. Steeping under a million stars was just one of the experiences. Hey, don’t forget to check your swag (Bedding) for scorpions.
The second title is Exploring Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Yes it is one of the natural wonders of the world.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
No I see myself more of a storyteller than author
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love Bill Bryson and on the very few occasions where my books have sold more than his, I have a mark on my calendar. Hey, I need more marks!!!!!
What are you working on now?
I’m working on a book about the beautiful villages of England. It is really tough deciding what to include. We’ve travelled quite a bit in the UK and we’ve just fallen in love with a number of spectacular villages. It will be out end October.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’ve done very little promotion this past two years. I speak on cruise ships which came from me being a published author and this takes a lot of time.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes, it won’t be easy but it will be worthwhile if you stick at it.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Just sit down and write
What are you reading now?
I’ve just finished MONASH, the Australian who won the WW1
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m going to London in May next year and research a book London in Luxury. Then in June, we will be cruising to the Baltic and another title to add to my list of cruising ebooks.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’d take my eBook How to Snorkel in Five Easy Lessons and my Kindle with over 90 titles

Hello, I was born in Pomona, CA, in 1992 and I now attend the University of Riverside where I major in History Admin Studies. So far I have written a total of four books, all within the Reverence series, and with many more to come. My favorite hobbies are brewery exploration, comics and going tot he movies, and COFFEE. I’m also trying to get into traveling more.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is End of Knighthood Part III: Ballad of Demise. The Reverence Series will be told in arcs, each three books long, and EOK Part III is the finale of the sequel trilogy to Reverence Volume 1. I was mainly inspired by the sci-fi films such as Blade Runner and Dark City, but I also added elements of the Western. I guess you could say Game of Thrones as well since the series follows a large cast of characters. I love science fiction, but I wanted to keep it fairly grounded (ex. didn’t want time travel or aliens) and also address real problems in our society.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Hmm, Probably that I feel at my best (creatively anyways) between the hours of 10pm-2am. Hence the coffee. As you might have guessed, I like it dark, preferably French Roast.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’m mainly influenced by Stephen King since knows how to build to a character moment extremely well. He can take a ridiculous concept make it tragic, terrifying, or just flat-out badass. His Dark Tower series is my favorite of his by far. I also draw a lot of inspiration from the works of Alan Moore, the comic book writer and illustrator behind Watchmen and The Killing Joke. He writes very well, always tying it back to real world problems and delving cleverly into philosophy. He makes you think.
What are you working on now?
Right now I’m working on the next arc for the Reverence series, Voice of a Cri son Angel. Like the EOK arc, it will be three books long, but this time around it is a prequel. It will explore how the war between nations came about and will focus on Will’s wife and daughter, who started the rebellion. Part I will be out by January of 2018.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m not sure on which site is best, but I will say free promotions work pretty darn well.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Self-Publishing is a do-it-yourself adventure, but that doesn’t mean you’re alone. They are plenty of author communities out there who will be glad to give you advice and there are plenty of websites that offer editing, covers, and more for very affordable prices. Don’t let fear of overpaying scare you.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Always seek a second opinion, maybe even a third or fourth. You don’t have to take all the advice you get, but these extra eyes may point things out to you that you never noticed before. This can be extremely helpful in the writing process.
What are you reading now?
Right now I am stuck between wanting to read Clive Barker’s “Books of Blood” and the Walking Dead Compendium Three. Being school means my to-read list grows pretty much every day.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Next up is the next arc in the Reverence series, the Voice of a Crimson Angel trilogy. It serves as a prequel and will focus on Will’s wife, Julissa Marconi, who started the war he has to fight now. She’s a no nonsense woman who takes crap from no one, not even Chancellor Venloran. It will begin release in January of next year.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
oh boy, tough one…
1.) The final Dark Tower book 9must re-read before I die)
2.) Dune (being meaning to read it)
3. ) Batman: No Man’s Land (only two volumes in…)
*To those who would argue a book(s) on survival, I am no camper or handyman. I might as well enjoy myself before it’s all said and done.

Award-winning and Amazon best-selling author, Vicki Batman, has sold many romantic comedy works to the True magazines, several publishers, and most recently, two romantic comedy mysteries to The Wild Rose Press. She is a member of Romance Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and several writing groups. An avid Jazzerciser. Handbag lover. Mahjong player. Yoga practitioner. Movie fan. Book devourer. Chocoholic. Best Mom ever. And adores Handsome Hubby. Most days begin with her hands set to the keyboard and thinking “What if??”
I have written two romantic comedy mysteries and thirty-five short stories and essays.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Temporarily Insane is the second in the Hattie Cooks mystery series. It follows Temporarily Employed. I have always loved books with romance, mystery, and humor.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really. I get to work after a workout, shower, and breakfast. I speed through social media, do some errands and house stuff, and then tackle writing my stories. I like to listen to classical guitar when I write. No words to get into my head. And I drink a diet Dr. Pepper.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I cut my teeth on Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew. From there, my mom introduced me to romance via Emilie Loring. I moved on to Mary Stewart, Agatha Christie. PBS introduced me to new authors. Finally, I discovered P. D. James, Elizabeth George, Dick Francis, Janet E and more.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on Temporarily Out of Luck, my third in the Hattie Cooks mystery series. I have a rough draft of a holiday story for next year, and a fun story with a touch of paranormal elements.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I visit all kinds of places. I love to blog with other authors.
Do you have any advice for new authors?

What are you reading now?
Some romances and a book for book club. There’s always one going.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Definitely keep on writing short stories. I love being in anthologies where new readers for me can discover my work.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Oh my! I’ve never thought of that. Definitely, Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. A dictionary to learn new words. A fat encyclopedia. Would a big notebook be allowed?

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
‘Murder In The Bush’ is my seventh novel. I spent a career as a Journalist and Editor and now devote my time to researching and writing historical fiction. All of my books are set either totally or partly in Scotland. I live in Australia but my father was born in Scotland and I have visited several times. My first three novels were based on my ancestors in Scotland. ‘The Undertaker’ and its sequel ‘The Undertaker:Masquerade’ have a young female undertaker working in Edinburgh in the 1850s and have proven so popular that I am working on a third book in the series. I have also written a book called ‘The Last Hurrah’ about a terminally couple who are disconnected from their adult children.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
‘Murder In The Bush’ is based on a true story and I have enjoyed researching life in the Highlands of Scotland and the colony of Queensland Australia in the 1880s. As editor of a Scottish magazine, I received an email from the grand-nephew of the hero of the story. He had traced his family history and thought I may be interested in a story for the magazine. When I read what he had discovered I knew I had to turn it into a novel.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I am usually up very early in the morning because that is when I get most of my writing done. I’m always full of ideas early in the day. I’m a scribbler. I’ll write down ideas and information on the nearest scrap of paper.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I think every book we read influences us in some way. I loved the work of Walt Whitman and Ralph Waldo Emerson when I was studying at university.
What are you working on now?
‘Murder In The Bush’ has just been published and I am on the promotional trail. I have three novels on the drawing board. I think the third instalment in ‘The Undertaker’ series will be the next draft to get my attention.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I talk to a lot of people, both face to face and on Facebook and Twitter, and enjoy answering questions from readers. Promoting your books takes a lot of time and effort and you have to keep at it.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t be in a hurry to get your work into print. It’s your name on the cover and if you don’t produce a quality book it could ruin your reputation before you even get started. If you can afford to employ a professional editor and cover designer it will be worth your while.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Great readers make great writers.
What are you reading now?
I have a pile of books on my bedside table with bookmarks sticking out of them, but my go-to book when I need inspiration is Rhonda Byrne’s ‘The Secret’. It always makes me feel very positive.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I will be visiting Kate ‘The Undertaker’ in Edinburgh again very soon to see how she goes in her efforts to get into medical school. Women weren’t allowed to study medicine in the 1850s, but Kate likes a challenge.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
A volume of poetry by William Wordsworth
‘Macbeth’ by William Shakespeare
‘The Old Man And The Sea’ by Ernest Hemingway

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I grew up in an Air Force family living all over the US and around the world, which provided terrific ideas for future books, and the chance to meet real-life heroes/heroines in uniforms and flight-suits.
I currently write three different series.
The Dolphin Shore Shifters starts with Blood Tide and introduces my paranormal romance series. The Santa Barbara pod, dolphins capable of shifting into human form, work through their corporation, Save Blue Water, to protect the oceans at any cost.
The Paladin Group, romantic suspense stories featuring wounded veterans.
Colonel’s Daughters quintet, contemporary romance stories, is about five sisters, air force brats born in different countries. As each sister travels to her birth place, she meets the man of her dreams and must confront her destiny.
With a total of 8 books published, number 9 is due to release in November 2017.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book, Survival Reboot, is book 2 of Paladin Group. Book 1, Deadly Reboot launched the series. Set in a small southern town, wounded air force veterans, men and women warriors turned civilian lawyers and investigators, are determined to continue their rescue work with an assist from the older generation of veterans.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I doubt any of my writing habits are unusual. I do most all my research ahead of time, make detailed outlines before i begin to write.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
For police procedurals, I love JD Robb.
For paranormal stories, I love Tanya Huff and Alyssa Day and many more-too many to name. I especially love books about vampires and most every variety of shifter: werewolves, dragons, bears, and more.
What are you working on now?
Currently, I am outlining Maximum Reboot, Paladin Group book 3.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My newsletter is just getting started, so mostly I interact with my readers on my Facebook page and on Twitter.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. It can be distracting when you get into promo mode and it keeps you from working on the next book.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Keep writing.
What are you reading now?
Just finished reading Secrets in Death by JD Robb.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to get back on my schedule of writing and publishing four or five books per year. Then I have created a “Paranormal world” for a fantasy series I’d like to start writing.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Naked in Death by JD Robb,
Persuasion by Jane Austen,
Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
Holy Bible
