About Lady Justice and the Avenging Angels by Robert Thornhill
Lady Justice has unwittingly entered a religious war. Who better to fight for her than Walt Williams?
When Walt and his partner, Ox, are patrolling the Gay Pride Parade, a bomb goes off near them. They come out okay, but many are dead or seriously injured. Shortly after, the police squad learns the bombs are homemade by a group of religious fanatics calling themselves God’s Avenging Angels. The Avenging Angels believe it’s their job to rain fire and brimstone on Kansas City, their Sodom and Gomorrah. The next attacks could be anywhere in the metro, so all cops are needed to comb the city and find the perpetrators. Walt and Ox are on the case, which continues to be explosive.
In this compelling addition to the Lady Justice series, Robert Thornhill brings back all the characters readers have come to love for more hilarity and higher stakes. You’ll laugh, and you’ll be on the edge of your seat until the big finish. Don’t miss Lady Justice and the Avenging Angels!

About The Dragon with the Girl Tattoo by Julia Mills
Once bitten, twice shy…
Lennox O’Lachtnáin, affectionately known as the Mad Bomber, would rather blow himself up than go on another blind date orchestrated by his well-meaning brethren. It was bad enough when they saw him crash and burn with the sexy doctor from Max’s Pride, but now they’ve all been witness to a string of failed first dates and botched meetings the likes of which no doubt have his ancestors turning in their proverbial graves. Fate was messing with him, BIG TIME, and he’d had enough.
The best laid plans…
One drunken night with his brethren to drown his sorrows and Lenn has a new tattoo, his head’s beating like a bass drum, and there’s a raven-haired beauty in his bed who makes his heart race and his dragon send smoke signals. There’s only one problem…she won’t wake up.
Cue the handcart to Hell…
Did Fate have to throw one more curve ball into his quest for a happily ever after? Well, of course She did. Did the Universe really have such a perverse sense of humor? Absolutely, no doubt. And who in the Heavens is this tiny platinum-haired woman who refuses to take no for an answer? Did she say something about a dating agency for paranormals? No way…time to get off the ride.
His one night stand has left him with more than new ink. Lenn has no doubt the sexy siren is his mate, the one created just for him, the other half of his soul…but there’s no way in Heaven or Hell he’s mating one of her kind. Nope, it’s just not happening. Alone is better than eternity with…with…that. There’s only one answer…blow something up and have another beer.
The Universe does make mistakes. Fate will be denied…or will it?

About Blind River by Ben Follows
Blind River is free from June 3rd to June 7th! Get it now!
Inspired by the captivating crime stories you love such as Mystic River and Gone Girl, Ben Follows’s debut novel is a nail-biting, breathtaking, thrill-ride about the disappearances of four young women in the fragile town of Blind River.
Curtis Mackley left Blind River the moment he turned eighteen, fleeing to Manhattan to follow his dream of being an FBI agent. Fourteen years later, he’s a respected member of the Bureau, married to the woman of his dreams, and soon to be a father. He’s inches away from everything he ever wanted.
Then he and his partner, Frankie Lassiter, are sent to Blind River to investigate the disappearances of four young women, and Curtis’s visceral hatred for the town are the least of their problems.
There are almost no clues, the chief is out of ideas, a reporter is exploiting the disappearances to further her own career, and the prison looming over the treetops is a constant reminder of the criminals who ruled Blind River during Curtis’s childhood.
When Sam Marino, the man who plunged Blind River into darkness once before, escapes from prison, Curtis and Frankie find themselves in a battle for the soul of Blind River itself.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I live and write from Jamaica and have been writing since I was in high school, which was many moons ago. I have authored sixteen novels, seven novellas and two short story collections, one of which is free on Amazon.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Persuasion is the third book in a New Adult series. The stories continued from an older storyline that involved the parents of the young ladies who are featured in the Sisters-in-Love series. As the older stories developed, the girls matured and demanded their own novels.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not so unusual, but editing for a client or critiquing work for someone else gets my writing juices flowing.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Some of my favourite authors are Jeffrey Archer, Dick Francis, Mary Higgins Clark, Robert B. Parker, and Eric Van Lustbader. I enjoy suspense and these writers’ stories have influenced the way in which I craft my own tales.
What are you working on now?
Currently, I am writing a contemporary romance that involves a group of friends who enjoy golf. The Long Game is the second book in this series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Sharing the books on social media and paying for ads on Facebook have helped with promotion.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
The biggest favour you can do for yourself is to learn the craft of writing and make a commitment to never stop learning.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
A critique partner once told me that my biggest responsibility is to my own writing. No matter what I have to do for other writers, it is important to remember that my writing comes first.
What are you reading now?
I am reading The Summer of Me by Angela Benson and My Joy by Suzette D. Harrison.
What’s next for you as a writer?
There are several books I need to finish before I move on to writing a novel that will be in a new genre for me. I expect that to be a wonderful adventure.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Innocents Abroad by Mark Twain and a four-book series by James Herriot. Oops, I believe that makes five books.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
A Texan by birth, I’ve lived on both coasts and a few places in-between. I’ve been a sales clerk, barista, secretary, waitress, technical editor and writer. I’ve volunteered as a museum docent, cause writer, wildlife sanctuary guide and animal caregiver.
I’ve written six books and three series, fiction and non-fiction. Not all are published yet.
The other day, a friend reminded me that I used to joke about writing smut and I had to shake my head. My new novel actually started out as erotica, but about 50,000 words in, I changed my mind.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
METTLE was inspired by research I did for a non-fiction book. It tells two stories: the unfolding of an aberrant relationship and the transformation that induces in the female lead.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Early morning is when the muse visits. I wake up around 4:00 am, which gives me a block of time to write without disturbance. My cat, Mia, has trained me to work with her perched on my shoulders. She seems to know when I need to take a break and will pull my glasses off at those times.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
When I find an author or character that moves me, I’ll go on long reading benders. I always take Koonst or Child on trips. I discovered the Outlander series one winter and devoured the first seven tomes one after another; when I looked up, it was spring. I was riveted by Flynn and Hawkins, as well as Paris and Bleeker.
What are you working on now?
Parts 2 through 6 of METTLE. I’m tweaking a few scenes, pushing each manuscript through production and scheduling promotions. Also getting some technical issues roped and tied.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
We shall see. I’m trying a number of different things.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Be bold, go deep, stay teachable and let it rip.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Consider the source.
What are you reading now?
GOODREADS CRACKED
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ve got several short stories outlined and a secret project with a creative partner that’s been simmering for a good, long while.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Complete Works of Dean Koonst, William Faulkner, Herman Melville, Jane Austen.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a Bible teacher and author with two prior books under my belt. This is my first foray into classic fiction. I am mostly self-educated, with a reading proficiency in Hebrew, a mastery of Greek (able to read Josephus, Aristotle, Herodotus, etc.), and an interest in catastrophism, the electric universe, and ancient history. My hobbies include backpacking, mountain climbing, and reading. I love coffee, dark chocolate, good conversations, sunrises and sunsets, and mountains.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Rogue. The story was inspired by my desire to visualize the end of the age as illuminated by the Bible, the ancient records of catastrophism, and electric universe theory.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Despite the plethora of cool, computerized tools, I still like to jot ideas on paper.
I need to have a cup of coffee handy, even if it sits half empty and cold.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The Bible, Velikovsky, numerous titles on the electric universe and catastrophism. For fiction, as a teenager I read “Alas Babylon” and Pournelli’s “Lucifer’s Hammer.”
What are you working on now?
Volume two of the “Planets Shaken” series. “The Rogue” is volume one.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am working through the learning curve on promotion and marketing.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Content and presentation. All the marketing in the world can’t sell an unclear idea or a shoddy presentation.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
In the beginning, God…
What are you reading now?
Aristotle’s “Rhetoric” in the original Greek, “Obadiah” in the original Hebrew, “Stephen Hawkings Smoked My Socks” by Hilton Ratcliffe, and “The Baltic Origins of Homer’s Epic Tales” by Felice Vinci.
What’s next for you as a writer?
To finish the “Planets Shaken” series.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible and three good books on survival.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve been a dreamer all my life. As a kid it got me into more trouble than I can explain away. Now, I get to use my day dreaming to write books. Born in Connecticut and lived most of my young life in Florida. Although I live in Central Florida now, I’ve lived all over the country from Maryland to Colorado, New Mexico, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Illinois. I have to say that I love the North East the most. There’s nothing like a crisp autumn day or white wonderland in the winter.
During college the topic of a paper I needed to write was not accepted. But the story stuck with me and became my first book, It Truth be Known. Of course this didn’t come about for many years later. After a book of action/adventure and then a drama, I settled on YA for my genre of choice. After sitting with my father listening to his memories of growing up during the great depression, the first YA book came together. Dirt was a culmination of my father’s stories and my love of history. I am currently working on my sixth book which is Book III of The Fantasmagorical Forest trilogy.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I enjoy reading good fantasy and when an idea came to me for a fantasy story, I decided to make it my second YA book. For The Fantasmagorical Forest Book I, Two Stones, I drew on the idea of how a teenager may deal with grief after the loss of a parent and how it affects those around her. We all deal with an unexpected death differently and I wanted young people to understand that it is okay to grieve but to try and not let that grief push others who care about you away.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have to have total quiet and total organization. I am definitely not one of those people who can write anywhere – a bus, a cafe, or even the library. I need to have all my notes and 3×5 cards organized so I can grab them when I need them and not lose my train of thought. It drives me crazy to have to search for something while working. And, yes, writing is work and it takes my undivided attention. But that’s just me. I know people who can have the TV and radio going and it never bothers them. If I were to have music on I would be seriously influenced by the tone of the music, so I stick with solitude.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Every author I read influences me. I read for enjoyment and I also read to learn how the best of the best write. Some of the best influences are the books that are written so bad I can’t finish them. This has the most influence. Sounds strange, but reading terrible writing makes me so aware of what not to do. There are so many authors I love to read. James Rollins is one of the best researchers for his books along with Tom Clancy. I like Rollins books because instead of telling me how to build a bomb, he just drops the darn thing and let’s someone else build it. No sense boring the reader with information overload.
What are you working on now?
I am working on Book III of The Fantasmagorical Forest trilogy. This one is going to take some time because there will be a lot of magic and wizardry in it. Coming up with all those magic words and wizardry spells is challenging. I’mm not sure if I’m excited or depressed that this will be the last book in this series.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I don’t have any one specific. I try to get on as many websites that I can. At the same time it is a balancing act to make sure I’m not pushing my books down everyone’s throat every time they see my name.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Learn the craft before you try to write your first book. Then write as often as you can and don’t worry about how good it is. You can fix bad writing, but you can’t fix a blank page.
My firsts book took thirty two drafts and dumping over 100 pages. It was a learning lesson and I learned from a great writer who was editing my attempt at writing a book. He was brutal. Honest but brutal. Luckily, I had a thick skin and a drive to get it right. I have never forgotten his remarks.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write the darn story and don’t worry about getting the right the first time.
What are you reading now?
I just finished Human Bow Down by James Patterson. A really interesting story. I would have liked it to be a little deeper, but the story was great and said a lot about the human race. We are tough.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Who knows. I want to get better with each book I write and possibly be known for great stories for young adults.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The biggest, fattest, most involved books I could find. Maybe War and Peace, Anna Karina, and one by Clive Barker just for interest. They would take me a long time to read. Maybe Breathless by Dean Koontz for an emotional lift. Love the ending of this book.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Ade Bozzay, long time wannabe author who never really found the time to actually sit and do some serious writing due to working and family. Now the kids have grown up and left home finally found some peace and quiet. At the moment I have only published the one work “The Moaning of Loaf” but there is a sequel already completed (is there such thing as a two part Trilogy?) and waiting to go, plus a third book which is not connected to the first two.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“The Moaning of Loaf”is the story of Nobby Loaf, a loner and friendless man, who wasn’t in anyway a bad person but had a tendency to be a danger to himself and anyone within the immediate vicinity. The only real friend he has is his dog Rambo, who doesn’t really like him either. The Story centres on Nobby and Rambo being kidnapped by Dolphins from the Earth’s future, long after mankind has disappeared and the Dolphins returned to the land and became the dominant species. It is in a away a reversal of the Star Trek: The Voyage home film, where Kirk and the crew had to go back in time to find a whale, long extinct in their time period, and bring it back to answer a probes calls in their own time period. The Dolphins needed a Human, and picked someone no one would ever miss, which was Nobby
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t know if it is unusual or not but I tend to find I am more creative when I am tired. So i often find myself writing at silly times when i should really be farting and snoring in bed.
I like to work on two books at a time, so if I get bored of working on one or get a block, I can move to the next and start thinking afresh as it is sometimes too easy to get too bogged down in concentrating on just one story and I find flitting from one to the other changes my thought processes and can often help clear the block I may have had
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Well I love authors that have a great eye for different styles of humour such as Tom Sharpe, Gregory McDonald, Harry Harrison and Douglas Adams.
I love Tom Sharpe for his use of situational comedy and humour, turning usually mundane day to to day occurrences into farcical situations.
Gregory McDonald for his dry wit and use of conversational humour.
Harry Harrison for his epic series “The Stainless Steel Rat” which introduced me for the first time to sci-fi based impossible situation humour and likeable characters.
Douglas Adams for his often surreal and totally unexpected humorous twists and turns
What are you working on now?
Just final tweaks on the Sequel to “The Moaning of Loaf” using the same characters but in new situations. I am also about 80% through a third book which is unrelated to the others and is more adventure and Mystery with a good heap of humour too.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am fairly new to this so i am finding my feet still.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Edit, re-edit and edit again. It is amazing how many errors you can overlook when writing. I tend to write a chapter or two at a time, do a quick edit and then put it away for a week or so and not look at it, then bring it out and read it afresh again and re-edit as necessary.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never nudge your Grandmother while she is shaving
What are you reading now?
The Throwback by Tom Sharpe (probably the 4th time I have read it over the past 30 years or so)
What’s next for you as a writer?
finish editing book two and complete book three while starting on a fourth book which is just at the plot outline stage for now.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Hitch Hikers guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams (just because they have me in stitches every time I read them
The Time Travellers Wife By Audrey Niffenegger (probably one of the best ever books featuring time travel as its central theme)
Fluke by James Herbert (not sure why I love this book so much, first read it as a teenager and just loved the idea of being reincarnated as a different species but recalling your former life.)

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I served 13 years in the US Army, some of it as a combat photographer. When I returned to civilian life, I made my living in photojournalism, which required extensive travel. When I regained sole custody of my daughter, then 13, I found that single parenthood and globetrotting were incompatible. I chose parenthood, and segued into writing magazine articles and then books. My first book, The Japanese Conspiracy, arose from one of my last photographic assignments, which took me to Japan’s far north and its then adolescent computer/electronics industry. After writing a dozen nonfiction books, a mix of biographies and true crime, I detoured into writing for the screen. Although I had a modestly successful career as a screenwriter, the business end was too difficult for a man in his sixties. I did learn how to write fiction, and that was the next evolution of my writing career. While writing five novels, I also published half a dozen photo books.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My first novel introduced the continuing character of Rabbi Ben Maimon. Unable to have his own pulpit, Ben is a roving troubleshooter, an ethical but down-to-earth and very tough investigator. The first book in the series, “For Whom The Shofar Blows,” established Ben’s character, his troubled past, his manner of approaching the world. My new book is “A Scribe Dies In Brooklyn,” and it finds Ben being asked by the President of the State of Israel to find the long-lost third of the Aleppo Codex. The Codex is real, and the fighting in Syria in and around Aleppo is what inspired me to learn more about the Codex and it’s fantastic history. Then someone in Brooklyn found a single page of the missing codex among the effects of his recently dead father. That was all I need to start dreaming about how that page got to Brooklyn and if there might be more.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I often dream the chapter that I will write the next day. It comes to me unbidden, in the small hours of the morning, and when I awake I am eager to get to my computer and get these thoughts sorted and inscribed on the digital page.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The works of Sara Paretsky, Michael Connelly, Peter Robinson and Ian Fleming have been my touchstones.
What are you working on now?
The sequel to “A Scribe Dies In Brooklyn” is in editing and a cover is being created. “A Tale of Two Rabbis” takes the reader to Pittsburgh and a pair of intersecting, long-term swindles involving millions of dollars bilked from unlikely sources.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Goodreads is very useful. So are BookBub and BookSends.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t quit your day job.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
When I worked for the Asbury Park Press, my editor gave me three rules:
1) Each word that is printed costs the publisher a dollar: Don’t spend any more of the publisher’s dollars than necessary.
2) A good story should be like a fine lady’s skirt: Long enough to cover the subject, short enough to be interesting.
3) The presses roll at midnight whether my story is in the paper or not.
What are you reading now?
Toby Neal’s “Shattered Palms.”
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ve started a second mystery series, and my literary agent is seeking a publisher for “The Lady In The Boxcar” and “The Man Who Flew Through Fire.” I’m also dreaming about the fourth Rabbi Ben, and working on a nonfiction book about Chicago murders.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Sheherazade, Or 1001 Arabian Nights
Any of Dickens’ novels, but especially Bleak House
Ulysses, by James Joyce
The Tanach (24 books of the Hebrew Bible.)

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m an Iraq War Veteran from West Virginia. I left the military in 2003 and went back to school to be a journalist, and although I believe journalism is important, I learned over time that there most journalism was just opinion-based and that facts mattered less and less to the average person. So in order to try and make a real impact on the world with words, I turned to fiction and “creative nonfiction.”
I’ve written a lot of books, but only four of them are published currently. I’m still seeking an agent, but if I end up having to do it on my own, then I will. One thing I learned in the military is that impossible odds don’t always result in defeat. Sometimes the battle you’re fighting was the wrong battle to begin with.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Bombmaker’s Wife was inspired by the recent divide in the USA. People hate one another for things that aren’t in their control just as much as they do for their actions. And one of the most terrifying things about terrorism is that there is always the potential for it to happen. And to avoid being too didactic here in this interview I will just say that a lot of Americans are hurting currently, and instead of coming together despite our differences we are being driven farther apart. So I wrote a book that chronicles what is one of the origins of our current problems in the Middle East, and then I brought those problems to America on the back of a woman who wanted to be good despite the bad things she had done in the past. I wrote the kind of book that I wanted to read.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I wake at 4 in the morning and write until my kids wake. Since I’m a stay-at-home dad, there is no other option. If it is unusual, there you go. For me it is necessity regardless of it’s “usualness.”
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Cormac McCarthy, Kurt Vonnegut, Samuel Beckett, Joseph Heller, Tim O’Brien, Dostoevsky, Bruce Weigl and so many more. Basically anyone I’ve read has “influenced” me, and these I’ve mentioned influenced me in ways that I wanted to emulate.
What are you working on now?
I am working on a series of kids books about a couple sisters who get into the kind of trouble that little girls get into. Vague, I know. But until it’s done, how do I know what I’ve written?
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
This is tricky. I’m looking for a “best” place, and I hope this might be a good start.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t just write. Learn more and make more in many different ways. Adapt and don’t be blinded by the silliness of the academy if what you want to do is write for a living.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Do the thing that makes others think you’re crazy.
What are you reading now?
The Hobbit as a refresher for a new book.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Graphic novels.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Blood Meridian. Red Cavalry. Crime and Punishment. Catch-22.
