Awesome Author - Austin Crawley

AOCrawleyTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I write Horror fiction and have released one previous book, A Christmas Tale, and am releasing a second book, Letters To The Damned, on October 1st. I have a Dystopian series in progress.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Letters To The Damned was inspired by a comment a friend made about black post boxes in England. Black always brings thoughts of supernatural phenomena and the story fell into place.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I sit, I write.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Many and varied. I love Classics so I strive for a literary voice in my writing, while staying true to genre.

What are you working on now?
With the release of Letters To The Damned at hand, I’m writing a few short stories and turning my ayyention to a Dystopian series I’ve had in mind.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still finding my feet on promotion, trying different things.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Edit. Get someone else to proof-read.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
That a writer must experience something of life before they really have anything to write about.

What are you reading now?
I read several books concurrently. I’m starting to read the Tiers series by Philip Jose Farmer and also reading some classic Horror in honor of Halloween.

What’s next for you as a writer?
The series. I’ve had it rumbling around in my mind for a while now and have written many notes about characters and plot. I hope to have the first book available early in the new year.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Long ones or practical ones. Definitely The Great Book of Amber by Roger Zelazny. I could get lost in that series for a long time.

Awesome Author - Samantha Joyce

authorpicTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a nerdy Canadian gal who loves reading, Broadway, and anything Buffy. Flirting with Fame is my first novel and the companion to it, Dealing in Deception, will be out on November 14, 2016.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Flirting with Fame. I’ve always been shy and hate having my photo taken. As an author, we can hide behind our words, but are expected to have a face on social media. I wondered what would happen if an author took the extra step to anonymity and used someone else’s picture as her own, and what circumstances might force her secret out.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Nothing super unusual. I usually have to have candy with me when I write. Gummy bears are the candy of choice.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love Cora Carmack, and her books definitely influenced me in writing Flirting with Fame. But I read all types of authors in all sorts of genres, from Stephen King to J.K. Rowling to Dostoevsky.

What are you working on now?
I just finished the final edits for Dealing in Deception and am currently revising a YA I’ve been fiddling with that has a magical element.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Twitter is my favorite place, because it’s instantaneous. And there are so many wonderful authors on there and we are all so supportive of each other. The writing community astounds me.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just keep writing. Don’t give up. Flirting with Fame was my third book, and the second one I queried. I have over 100 agent rejections under my belt. But keep writing and keep trying. You’ll get there.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Brownies fix everything.

What are you reading now?
I’m sooo behind on my reading, so I know this one has been out a while, but Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard is the one on my Kindle at the moment.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Just keep writing the ideas and hoping something sticks, haha!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Oh, that’s tough!

The Dark Tower – Stephen King
Crime and Punishment – Dostoevsky
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – JK Rowling

Awesome Author - D.M. (Doug) Pruden

Doug-Self-portrait-reducedTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a 58 year old Canadian science fiction writer who lives in Calgary, Alberta. I am the father to 4 wonderful adult children and grandfather to two (so far) wonderful little girls. I live with my wife of 34 years, Colleen and we are getting used to being empty nesters. Professionally, I have spent the last 36 years working in the petroleum industry as a professional geophysicist, so I know a little bit about science which I try to apply to my writing.

I have been creating stories for most of my life, but only began writing them down a few years ago. I have written multiple short stories and two novels (one of which, The Ares Weapon has been published in 2016).

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Ares Weapon was originally inspired by the NaNoWriMo challenge of 2015. I wanted to write a science fiction book that did not rely on space aliens or epic battles with ray guns or light sabres. I also have an affection for the thriller genre, so I decided to write a science fiction thriller.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t believe so. I like to get my word count finished in the morning to make room for chores around the house, walking the dog and cooking meals for me and my wife. I guess the only habit I have is that I don’t read any fiction while I am writing, mostly because I find myself editing the book in my head and re-writing passages to how I would write it. It is very frustrating…

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Frank Herbert’s Dune is the most influential book I have read. I also enjoy George R.R. Martin’s writing , Anything by Tom Clancy and various historical fiction stories about the Templars during their period of influence.

What are you working on now?
I am working on the sequel to The Ares Weapon. I haven’t decided on a title yet, but plan to release it by the end of December 2016. I am also planning out a serial I intend to begin working on in early 2017.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m just getting started with promotion, but I like Awesomegang.com for the enthusiastic support they provide for indie authors like myself.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Learn about story structure: it appliess to everything your write. Read extensively, watch movies with story structure in mind, especially classical older movies, like the 1959 version of Ben Hur. Older movies were made more like novels in terms of their story and can teach a lot in a short time about how to craft a good narrative.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Keep on writing. It is the only thing I have any real influence over as far as my career development.

What are you reading now?
I’ve just started reading “The Dark Between the Stars” by Kevin J. Anderson

What’s next for you as a writer?
I am pushing myself to put out as many novels and serials as I can over the next ten years. At 58, I have less time to succeed than a younger writer.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible, Dune, Lord of the Rings trilogy, As many of the Harry Potter books as I could fit.

Awesome Author - Dee Dee M. Scott

dee3Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am the author of eleven books. I have been writing since the age of six. It was something I always did. By the time I was a teenager, I was writing poetry and performing in front of audiences. I wrote my first book after my husband brought me a computer to stop me from taking up space in our closets with the notebooks of stories that I had hand written.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest book is: My Man, Your Man, Everybody’s Man. The story came to me just like the others and the characters told the story. If you’ve read any of my other books, you know this story has a compelling twist.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, I never force a story. If the characters don’t tell the story then I will not write it. All of my stories are character driven. It is amazing how the characters unfold as I type. They tell the story and sometimes I am surprised at the twists and turns I go on with my characters.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Langston Hughes. I was reading his poetry when I was a little girl. His poetry was so expressive and colorful. I’ve read all of his poems!

What are you working on now?
Currently, I working on an upcoming horror movie: Lake House which was written, directed and produced by my husband: Danny L. Scott.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
There are so many websites to promote on. You have to find the one that is most effective for you and your message. For me it is Twitter along with my Facebook Fanpages.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Close your ears to all negativity and distractions. Negativity can discourage you and you need all the support you can get as a newbie and even an author with books under your belt. Focus only on things that are uplifting and people who are offering encouraging advice. Study. Never get complacent and believe you have it all figured out. Your writing and your brand may suffer if you do. Write every day. By doing so you will grow and it will strengthen you as a writer. And lastly, never give up. Things rarely happen overnight. Keep going and work hard on your craft.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
To develop crocodile skin. Not everyone is going to like you or your work. Concentrate on the people who do.

What are you reading now?
I don’t have much time to read due to my hectic schedule. However, I do read the bible every day.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Only Jehovah God knows. I don’t place myself in a box. If I want to do something, I try it. Period.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
My bible. my thesaurus, and a dictionary.

Awesome Author - M.D. Massey

mdmassey-224Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve been an avid reader since my mom bought me my first Little Golden Book. A few years later, I discovered fantasy and sci-fi, which led to a lifelong addiction to books that continues to this day. I started writing fiction years ago, and finally got the courage to publish a book in 2011. To date I’ve published six sci-fi and fantasy novels and a novelette.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I originally got the idea for the characters in Junkyard Druid back in 2011. I had this great idea for an urban fantasy novel that would feature druids, the fae, and Irish folklore. I figured it would be a surefire bestseller, since no one was doing druids at the time.

Then, I stumbled across the first book in Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid series, kicked the couch a few times, and put my idea aside for a while. But, the damned thing just wouldn’t leave me alone, so I ended up writing the characters into a YA novel.

I just didn’t have the fire for YA though, so instead of writing a sequel to that novel I wrote a paranormal zombie apocalypse series, and had a heck of a lot of fun playing in that sandbox. The main character from Junkyard Druid showed up in one of those zompoc novels, and based on reader feedback I decided to write an urban fantasy series featuring him as the main character.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I wake up every day and do whatever needs doing for my “day job” as a consultant, and then I sit down and write until I hit my quota. Whether it takes me two hours or ten, I don’t quit until I meet my word count for the day.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Tolkien was a huge early influence on me, as I think he is for a lot of fantasy authors. Terry Brooks is one of my all-time favorite authors, and what I think is great about him is that you can see how his writing evolved from his first book through his third. After that, his writing became very consistent, which gives me hope that I can develop as a writer just as he did, through OJT.

What are you working on now?
I’m writing the second book in the Junkyard Druid series.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Facebook, without a doubt.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing and study the craft. For ten years I read every book about writing fiction that I could get my hands on. I started and abandoned half a dozen novels during that time, until I finally wrote something that I thought was worth finishing. I still doubt my writing, every single day, and I don’t really think you can become a decent writer without maintaining that doubt. It’s what forces me to improve my writing, rather than being satisfied with just being “good enough.”

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If you want to be a writer, write 1,000 words a day, no matter what. Writers write.

What are you reading now?
I just finished Monster Hunter: Nemesis by Larry Correia for the second time.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ll write two more Junkyard Druid novels, then I’ll finish my zompoc series. After that, I’ll either continue the Junkyard Druid series or start another spin-off series featuring a supporting character from my two existing series.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Lord of the Rings in an omnibus edition (I’m cheating a little).
The collected poems of Robert Frost (any decent anthology).
Probably a Joe Lansdale or Andrew Vachss novel.
And the Bible, likely the NASB version because I get tired of reading all those “thees” and “thous.”

Awesome Author - Vanessa Ravel

vravel_headshotTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve written one novel as an adult, and seven feature-length screenplays as a high school student. Clearly parties and football games (and homework) weren’t high on my list of priorities in high school.

My genre of choice is dark fantasy, with an edge of horror. I like writing about ugly things in the most beautiful way possible. Creating poetry or writing delicate prose about vile things to me is more shocking than any gorefest because, strangely enough, there is beauty in vile things. There is beauty in everything. You just need to find the right words.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest published novel, ‘Four o’Clock Alice’, was inspired by personal tragedy.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I get most of my ideas while driving. Since I don’t drive often, that means I get my ideas when I’m being driven around by my chauffeur (read: boyfriend). That’s convenient, since all I have to do when an idea arrives is pull out my pad and pencil and jot it down. No pull-over necessary. I tried using a tape-recorder (because, after all, that’s what makes you look like an official important person with important ideas), but was too shy to speak any words to it, even when I was the only one in the room. Go figure.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I don’t think I’ve been influenced by any authors or books per se, because I’ve broken the cardinal rule of novel writing. The number of fiction books I’ve read is not in the thousands. It’s probably not even in the hundreds. I was never a big reader. I learned to write before I learned to read. I learned to tell stories before I learned to read. By the time I learned to read, I was too busy telling my own stories to be able to focus on somebody else’s.

Now, if one were to ask me which authors I admire, well, that’s an entirely different story. A good writer bares his soul through his craft. Bleeds a little with every word put onto the page. I kneel humbly before any author who is brave enough to expose him or herself so deeply. And there are too many of those authors to name here.

What are you working on now?
I’m juggling a couple of different projects: a collection of short stories and a full-length novel, this one slightly darker than the last. Both the short stories and the novel are dark fantasy/horror.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Like most writers, I’m not much into self-promotion. I have a website, and I just recently drank the Kool-Aid and joined Twitter. I also have a dedicated Facebook Author Page, where I mostly show pictures of dogs. As I said, I’m not the best self-promoter.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what you like, and those who like what you like will read it.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Art is o

What are you reading now?
Don’t take anyone’s writing advice too seriously. – Lev Grossman

What’s next for you as a writer?
I have a few more novels in me that I plan to publish. I hope to grow from ‘Four o’Clock Alice.’

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

Awesome Author - Donchatz

aboutTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve written, well I currently have four full length books published and for sale, a number of short stories free on the website and I’m working on three more full length novels as we speak. I tend to work on multiple project to keep from getting bored as well as to keep up the release schedule I’ve set for myself of a new book every other month. With the amount of ideas and characters floating around in my head I’d like to get the number of releases up to one a month for full length books, that is to say books at 60,000 words or longer.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The latest book, Beautifulest, which is going to be released on October 1st, 2016, is a surrealist book that deals with alienation and the human condition as it relates to god and love and loss, which although usually found together, are seldom mutually beneficial conditions. It is almost a stream of conciousness story, where the character finds himself shifting in and out of different versions of the same Earth, inspired by the great Michael Moorcock and his Eternal Champion books about the multiverse of parallel Earths. As a big fan of Haruki Murakami, Jose Saramago and Umberto Eco, there’s quite a bit of questioning about the worth of feeling at all and the use of God, as an object we look to rather than the benevolent father figure. Of course, I’m also a huge action junky in real life as well as in literature, so it’s a pretty fast paced book like my genre fiction tends to be. So yeah, it’s cerebral action adventure with lots and lots of satire. I find that satire is a fantastic way of poking fun not only at oneself, but at those who for lack of any direction in their own lives tend to look down on others for the crime of trying to succeed, or worse, actually succeeding.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write. When I was younger I had the good fortune to meet a very famous guitar player and as we sat in his tour bus consuming all the usual things one consumes on a tour bus, I asked him offhandedly what the best exercises or practice routines I could do to get my guitar playing, face melting chops up. He just smiled, winked at me over the bottle of whiskey he was drinking out of and when he had swallowed that liquid fire said ‘Just play the damn thing. Play it as much as you can, however you feel like playing it at that moment. That’s the only thing that will really make you better is to play it.” So I write. It’s the only thing that’s going to make me better at writing.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
As I said, I’m a big fan of thinking writers who also aren’t boring as hell. Elmore Leonard, who a lot of people, despite his popularity, don’t realize is a thinking writer, slips in some really profound things when it comes to how we percieve people not lucky or unlucky enough to be in our own personal predicament. Umberto Eco, the master of the hidden world populated by those people whose only goal in life is the control of us normal folks, is a monster when it comes to stringing the reader along. Murakami for that strange, dreamlike quality he pulls off with so little effort and Jose Saramago for all his questions about why we follow so blindly and the wit with which he asks them. Of course there’s Michael Moorcock, who influences every single overblown fantasy epic that doesn’t really need seven books, each at least a thousand pages long, to tell a story. I love the fact that he out writes, out thinks and out adventures them all with those short novels of his. And I would be doing a disservice to my son if I didn’t put Howard and the mighty Conan into the list of influences as those were the books that made me interested in story telling to begin with. After all, what person on this planet doesn’t want to live a life of adventure free from the made up laws of governments who only seek to stay in power at our expense. So right now, everyone raise a toast to the barbarian that all of us, at least in some small way, wish we were as brave and careless as.

What are you working on now?
Currently I’ve got a few things going. One is a sequel to A Few Deaths More tentatively titled A Lesson of Filling Graves, which I hope will be done by December. Lots of folks have been wanting more of Horus Faulk so they will get that book in time for Christmas break reading. I’ve also got a book I’m calling Hime Daruma that deals with death, or rather the lack of someone you really love in your life once they pass beyond us. It’s very dreamlike and I’m being very careful with it, much more respectful of other people’s impressions of the subject than I am with most everything else I do. In November the book Alien From Earth will be released, which is a book about religion from the outside looking in, that is to say, it’s a study, in a very science fiction adventure way, of how a species can be so readily led by someone or something who is not at all what it professes to be. It’s my take on how we are so ready to be told how to live and even, sadly enough, how to die.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I had really good returns with Awesomegang when I released my short, 1970s style horror book Wolves of the Land, so I’m back now to promote the new one, Beautifulest, and I’m quite sure I’ll be coming back to drop more of the books on you guys. As far as promotions, I have pretty decent luck with word of mouth, which is either a testament to my writing, or a testament to the fact that over the top melodrama really is the key to entertainment.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just write. If it’s not working, write some more. If it’s still not working then trash whatever you’re trying to write and start something you want to write. But for whatever counts as god’s sake, don’t put out a thousand page ‘epic’ where it’s really just a hundred page short story with unoriginal and completely boring, played out world buildings. We’ve all read Lord of the Rings and the Ghormenghast books so stop trying to fool us.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Suck it up, the world wasn’t built for you. So you’d better get to building yourself for it.

What are you reading now?
Finishing up Cain by Jose Saramago, and also reading an Agatha Christie collection of short Poirot stories.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Well I think we’ve covered that already.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’m on the water every single day, so I doubt any force in the universe could strand me, but let’s just say that happened for the sake of the answer shall we…I’d hope to have Shogun, by James Clavell which is in my opinion the greatest novel ever written, Master of the Game by Sidney Sheldon, The Wind Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami, The Elric Saga by Michael Moorcock, and probably oh I don’t know Name of the Rose or The Prague Cemetery by Umberto Eco.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
How can I choose just three or four? This is impossible.

I’d definitely have to have the Bible and my book Saying Goodbye without Saying Hello. With these two books, I believe that they will give me the strength to push on and survive.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
You Must Write a Book: Boost Your Brand, Get More Business, and Become the Go-To Expert. I’ve been helping professionals write and publish their books, and I wanted to make my experience and knowledge available to many people.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t think so. Unusual? Is being fueled by caffeine unusual (I hardly think so)!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Soooo many: Tony Robbins, Catherine Ponder, Zig Ziglar, and Jim Rohn, to name a few.

What are you working on now?
The companion guide to You Must Write a Book, I Must Write a Book. I’m certifying an author coach, and we’re putting together a course on writing a book for professionals.

Having targeted email lists and a community on Facebook (the Prosperity for Writers Mastermind, inspired by my book, Prosperity for Writers).

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write and keeping writing. Publish and keep publishing. You’ll get better and better, the more you work at it. If making money is your goal, you’ll make a little money, then a little more, and then a lot more (but it will take time, energy, and focus). It’s worth it!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You must write a book! Mark Victor Hansen’s words to me when we met in 2004.

What are you reading now?
Concrete Blonde by Michael Connelly
The Science of Enlightenment: How Meditation Work by Shinzen Young

What’s next for you as a writer?
More books! Helping more aspiring authors! And, I’m going to try fiction…

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Law of Success by Napoleon Hill
The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity by Catherine Ponder
and I would smuggle in my iPad as “one book” so I could have all of my books. Shhh!!

Awesome Author - Susan Faw

me1Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a young adult fantasy author who began writing before I could read the words on the page. Stories have always fascinated me, so much so that when I love a series it becomes an obsession. I began writing the Spirit Shield Saga in 2014 at a time when it seemed my world was coming to an end. I decided it was time and wrote Seer of Souls over the next 3 months. I wrote a prequel novella for the series in January of this year, entitled Soul Survivor, as a free giveaway to introduce new readers to the series. The series revolves around the jealousies that are found in every family, but the problem with this family is that they are also gods and their in fighting is destroying the world.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is entitled Soul Sanctuary and is a continuation of Cayden and Avery’s quest to halt the plans of their sister Helga, to take over the world. I anticipate a January 2017 launch. Book three of the series, entitled Soul Sacrifice is currently in production, and is looking like a summer 2017 launch date.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I always play music but especially enjoy gregorian chant. I find it satisfying and that it sets the mood and era nicely.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
JK Rowling and Harry’s journey for sure, Robert Jordan and the Wheel of Time, and Terry Goodkind and the Sword of Truth series.

What are you working on now?
Right now I am working on writing the final book of the series, and anticipate book two to come back from first round edits, in about 2 week’s time.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Instafreebie has been my main focus right now as I have been list building primarily. Then once I have my series complete, my main go to’s will be facebook ad’s, free/bargain booksy and a well place book bub or two. But primarily it will be my mailing list.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
You have to want this with your whole heart and be willing to learn what ever it takes to rise to the top. Write a top notch novel. Check out what the top authors in your genre are doing. Sign up for their newsletters. This is one time when imitation is the absolute best way to go. Be prepared to work, harder than you have ever worked in your life.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t work harder. Work smarter. Learn the trade inside and out. Be a copy cat of the best and most successful. Do what they are doing.

What are you reading now?
Another re-read of the wheel of time. It relaxes me and puts me in the mode to write 🙂

What’s next for you as a writer?
My next series will be a “anxiety ridden Princess Leia meets Zorro” – a sword wielding spanish heiress guarding a dark magical secret.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The Eye of the World (Robert Jordan)

A Memory of Light (Robert Jordan & Brandon Sanderson)

Wizard’s First Rule (Terry Goodkind)

Awesome Author - Thomas Zweifel

Thomas-Tower-Uetliberg-Eckmann-1608Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book (with the turnaround expert Edward J. Borey) is “Strategy-In-Action: Marrying Planning, People and Performance.” The 2008 economic crises and the meltdown of some of the world’s major financial firms made it clear to Ed and me: Traditional strategic planning no longer guarantees success. Uncertainty and change, globalization, empowered consumers and flatter hierarchies call for a new approach. We wanted to show how companies ended the long-standing divorce between planners and implementers, between planning and people. The approach works: Our clients have produced over $9 billion in added revenues while unleashing their leadership. One company saved $200 million from people power and another made €74 million from innovation. So you can see, we are pretty passionate about this. We think CEOs and strategists will find a systematic roadmap for winning strategies: how to stand in the future, get intelligence from far-flung locations, give voice to dissenters, maximize ownership, screen out losers efficiently, and produce quick wins. In short, we want to bring the human element back into strategy.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My calendar is quite full. Nevertheless, I have a habit of writing every morning. If I leave writing for later in the day, I will never get to it. I love to write on planes, trains, park benches or in the first-class lounge of Zurich train station. But don’t tell anyone or they might come there and ruin it.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
William Manchester and his multi-volume biography of Churchill, “The Last Lion: Winston Spencer Churchill.” His soaring prose makes you laugh and cry. Then of course Churchill himself, who after all got the Nobel for literature, not for peace. The book that possibly influenced me the most is “I and Thou” by Martin Buber. His language is so essential that you could literally take one sentence and contemplate it for an hour before moving to the next sentence. If you don’t get to read it, here one snippet: “Spirit is word… Spirit is not in the I but between I and You. It is not like the blood that circulates in you but like the air in which you breathe.” The Hebrew word for “life” is “chaim,” a plural term. There is no life in the singular, in the monologue; only in the plural, in the dialogue, in the encounter. To put it differently: None of “my” accomplishments is due to my individual brilliance; I am not that great. Individualism had its uses, it empowered people, but now it overshot its goal.

What are you working on now?
Currently I am working on two books (a bit crazy, I know). One on coaching as a manager’s indispensable toolkit, just like project management or finance. The other my first novel, which I might publish under a pseudonym (gotta talk to my agent about this).

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have a habit of doing one thing each day to market one of the books. Amazon is great. Facebook too.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Start each day with writing. And of course never edit while you write. Just write write write without censorship, then you can print it out and edit. And trust yourself, you DO have something to say.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
By Rabbi Zusya in the 18th century: “In the world to come, I shall not be asked, ‘Why were you not Moses?’ I shall be asked, ‘Why were you not Zusya?'” Don’t copy others. Your job is to find out who you are, what is your unique purpose in life, then fulfill that purpose.

What are you reading now?
I’m reading multiple books right now. I’m re-reading Thomas Kuhn, “The Nature of Scientific Revolutions.” I am slowly reading Maimonides’ “Guide for the Perplexed” written in the 12th century (I think). Then Jerome Feldman “From Molecule to Metaphor” (wow), Neal Stephenson “Seveneves.” Plus several books on cognitive bias, e.g. Phil Rosenzweig “The Halo Effect” or Eliezer Yudkovsky “Rationality” (wow again).

What’s next for you as a writer?
A breakthrough in book marketing. Not for the money, but for getting the word out. I’ve sold 42,000 books, which is pretty good for non-fiction, but so much more is possible, and needed. At the risk of sounding overly self-enamored: The more people read my books, the better for their lives, their companies, their world.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
“I Ching.” The Talmud. Heck, I would just bring my Kindle so I could read all that are on there ;.)

Awesome Author - Troon Harrison

Troon-HarrisonTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am am internationally published author with 36 books placed with mainstream houses. My work is printed in numerous countries and languages. I also edit and critique mss for clients worldwide, and have been teaching creative writing for ICL for nineteen years. I write and edit in a wide range of genres; this keeps my career engaging and challenging!

I have Bachelor degrees in English literature and sociology, and a teaching degree. When not working, I love to ride my horse, walk my dog, take photographs, and paint landscapes and horses in acrylics on canvas.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My fantasy book, The Separated, was inspired by a wonderful walking holiday in Italy’s magical Cinque Terre. The mountains, the sea, and the hiking paths along the cliffs and through tiny villages painted pink and yellow, were so inspiring! I felt I could only use this setting in a fantasy to do justice to its awesome beauty. Since the villages were historically pirate strongholds, I had to include a pirate hero in my novel, as well as a couple of unicorns (since I love equines!)

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have written and edited on planes, trains, ferries, in cars, outside, and in my various offices in different houses I’ve lived in.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
As a young person, I was greatly influenced by many imaginative authors with a strong grasp of using the English language: Tolkien, E.B. White, Joan Aiken, C.S. Lewis, and many other great fantasy writers who inspired my imagination with their vivid imagery.

What are you working on now?
I am ghost-writing and editing for clients around the world.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My Facebook book page allows me to post many neat photographs of places and items that I have been inspired by and used in my books.
https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=Troon%20Harrison%27s%20books

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Believe in yourself, be prepared to work long and hard, read everything, and write on a regular basis. Don’t give up — and don’t think you can be a good writer without learning the craft through workshops, courses, conferences, and interacting with editors.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Success is 20% inspiration and 80% perspiration.

What are you reading now?
Books of historical intrigue by Jane Johnson who grew up in Cornwall, as I did.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Who ever knows what door will open next in life?

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
As It Is In Heaven by Niall Williams, the collected poems of Mary Oliver, Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach.

The first book is a lyrical and magical novel; Mary Oliver’s poems say everything I’ve always felt about the world; Brach’s book about living a life of love and compassion is inspirational.

Awesome Author - R J Gould

rjgould-author-march-2016Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have published three novels, the first two through the UK publisher Accent Press. A Street Cafe Named Desire was published in December 2014 and The Engagement Party in May 2015. My most recent novel is Jack and Jill Went Downhill.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Unlike my first two novels which were sparked by real life events, my most recent novel, Jack and Jill Went Downhill, started with the nursery rhyme. I wanted to turn it into an adult romantic tale, with the two main protagonists, Jack and Jill, meeting on the first page of the novel and without realising it, following the plot of the nursery rhyme.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t over plot. At the outset I know how the book will end and some key middle bits, but then I let the characters develop and at times, lead me in directions I hadn’t anticipated. That makes for an exciting journey. It necessitates a lot of editing, but I actually (and perhaps unusually) enjoy that part of the writing.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I read loads of different genres. I love Kate Atkinson, Sarah Waters and Tracy Chevalier. I suppose my own writing is quite close to that of David Nicholls.

What are you working on now?
I’ve finished and up to editing a novel about a man who thinks he’s a hopeless case when in fact he’s anything but. I’m working on a story of a husband and wife who are competing for who can have the most embarrassing mid-life crisis. The woman was winning, but the man is catching up!

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
It’s an endless struggle, even with a publisher. I do have my doubts about twitter.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Enjoy what you write and see the sales as a bonus. If you complete a novel you can be hugely proud.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Go with the flow, don’t over plan.

What are you reading now?
My Husband’s Wife, Amanda Prowse

What’s next for you as a writer?
Release my fourth novel early 2017, finish my fifth novel for late 2017 release. Very excited to be talking to a scriptwriter about The Engagement Party for film.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Magus, John Fowles
Fingersmith, Sarah Waters
Falling Angels, Tracy Chevalier

Awesome Author - Patrick Borosky

IMG_0255Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Let’s see, I’m not really bound by any genre, but I like to write on the fantasy end. I’ve just published my first book, but I plan to have my second published by the end of 2016. I have written another that I’ll try to release sometime next year and have ideas for countless of others.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Rev: Rise of Jormungand

Rev is a combination of everything I enjoyed as a kid. It’s a high paced Action/adventure based on a dystopian future. The main protagonist is an extreme smart-ass and has a comedic touch through the entire dark nature of the book.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I usually write in first-person, and when I do my characters usually stop the storyline to enter their thoughts or address the audience for an extra connection to the character on hand. I also like to change characters in order to get the audience more invested in other characters in the story.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Patrick Rothfuss is probably my favorite current author as his attention to detail and imagination is extraordinary.

My favorite book is Watership Down by Richard Adams. It takes a real life situation and puts a creative twist that most people would never think of. It’s an oldie, but a good oldie.

What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on a book called Anima, which I plan to release at the end of this year. It follows a man who dies and is given a chance to go through a set of trials in order to get resurrected. I’m writing the ending now, and I just need to proofread it afterwards.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I don’t currently have a best method as I’m completely new to this. Hit me up on wattpad or twitter, and be part of my newly established fanbase!

https://twitter.com/patborosky
https://www.wattpad.com/user/pborosky

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just keep at it. Your first work is never going to be perfect and it’s a continuous learning experience. I highly suggest starting on wattpad and experimenting with different genres to get experience. It forces you to think out of the box.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If one dream dies, dream another dream. If you get knocked down, get back up and go again.

What are you reading now?
Dark Tower series book 3

What’s next for you as a writer?
Continue writing, I really enjoy it. I plan to finish up Anima and then write the second book for Rev depending on the reception I get from it.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Watership Down
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
Name of the Wind
Maze Runner

Awesome Author - Chris Davis

ChristineKoolauExplorerTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m an IT Project Manager by day, and an explorer of the Ko’olau Range on O’ahu, Hawai’i by weekend. In between all that I write novels! My first series, “Takers,” consists of four books. I’m also currently publishing another series under a pen name and have two other series pending plus am involved in researching yet another series!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The “Takers” series was inspired by a series of events. First, I fell in love with the rebooted “Hawaii Five-0” TV show and its star Alex O’Loughlin intrigued me. In looking at other things he’d done, I watched the short-lived TV series “Moonlight” and shortly after finishing that, the hero of “Takers” appeared to me and said, “Let’s do this!” Thus, I suddenly became a writer of vampire books!

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I often listen to Solfeggio frequencies and/or binaural beats via ear buds when I write. It makes me very productive.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Trevor O. Munson’s original novel “Angel of Vengeance,” the book which inspired “Moonlight,” helped a lot in trying to find a voice for my hero.

What are you working on now?
A series being published under a pen name plus two more that will also be published under pen names. I only am publishing under other names because they are completely different genres.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
So far I haven’t found the best one. 🙂

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t give up, no matter what does or does not happen with your first book. Just keep writing and putting it out there.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Have a really good editor and a professional-looking book cover.

What are you reading now?
Believe it or not, the missing books of the Bible. It’s research for a new series. 🙂

What’s next for you as a writer?
More research, more writing, and always lots of hope!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
anything at all by Lindsay Buroker
anything at all by J. Thorn
anything at all by Stephen King

Awesome Author - Michelle Stimpson

SmallerwithBooksTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a wife, mom, and soon-to-be grandma! I write mostly Christian fiction, though I have written some non-fiction, short stories, and dabbled in ghost writing. Altogether, I have 40+ books and about 50 short stories.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
All This Love – it’s a Christian romance. Who wouldn’t want to read a romance, right? It was inspired by my desire to see more male characters as strong, wholesome men. I enjoy writing about the struggles men face. Though I’m not a man, I’m married to one (23 years now) and have a 22-year-old son. It’s interesting to me how they approach life’s challenges.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I go on writing binges. When I’m in a writing binge, it’s like when my son plays video games. He hardly stops for anything. When he does stop, he realizes he hasn’t eaten, nor has he gone to use the restroom. It’s kind of fun once you get into something – you really do lose track of time and senses. I like writing like that!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve enjoyed Ray Bradbury’s short stories and the late J. California Cooper’s historical fiction. I read mostly non-fiction, but I do enjoy Tiffany L. Warren and Kim Cash Tate especially.

What are you working on now?
This is going to sound bad, but I’m actually not working on anything at the moment. I THINK my next book will be another book in my bestselling, award-winning Mama B series. This will be book #7. My fans are waiting for this book and I don’t want to disappoint them!

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I really like to have a book that’s free going at all times. Now that I have dozens of books on Amazon, I can rotate them into and out of Kindle Select, run sales, and promote on sites like Bookbub.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you want to make a career out of this, you need to keep writing good books. You need inventory!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“You talk too much.” This was spoken to me by a former employer, and boy was she ever right! There’s a time and a place for everything. Silence has its place, too.

What are you reading now?
I’m reading “Prophetic Activation” by John Eckhardt.

What’s next for you as a writer?
This upcoming year, I may put out 2-3 books, but my biggest goal is to work the inventory that I already have. I own a website where I’ve listed my short stories (www.WeGottaRead) that needs some TLC, so I’m going to focus on what’s working there and amp it up.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
1. The Bible (Amplified or The Message Version)
2. Ray Bradbury Short Stories
3. Some kind of devotional
4. An HUGE empty book to journal in

Awesome Author - Puneet Mathur

Author_Photo_FinalTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am Puneet Mathur Data scientist, Author and Predictor. I specialize in real life predictions. I have an experience of about 17 years in real life Prediction. I successfully predicted in the year 2012 President Obama’s elections in my book series. Also some of my famous predictions include predicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s win in Indian General Elections in year 2014. I am Author of 5 books.
I started my career as an Information Technology Professional or a Programmer and then moved in my 17 years of corporate career into management positions. As a Program Manager I was frequently asked to tell about the status of a Program to Executives and frequent questions around will this Program succeed or not? I used prediction techniques personally and came up with such techniques which work. I started Prediction as a hobby due to my interest in Indian Astrology. When my predictions about people’s lives were bang on target, I realized prediction was certainly my forte.
I have been predicting Mundane Events or Macro events since 2012. The interest in US Presidential elections is keenly watched all over the world since USA is a powerful economy and whoever comes to power in this great nation has a direct impact on most of our lives.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My interest in writing this book is a very small attempt to payback to all the women in my lives, my Mother, Grand Mother and my wife and other women who helped me immensely in not only nurturing me but also making me what I am today.
Anybody who is watching the trends in modern society today cannot help but notice the rise of women to positions of power and authority. The natural question that comes to a male mind is No this could be a passing trend. However I read the Indian scriptures which have given clearly the predictions on modern society that we live in and clearly Women rising to the top is indicated. I have quoted the exact Indian scripture that states this prophecy in the book.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I do not write but type. I don’t know if that is unusual but I detest writing I love typing on msword.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Fritjof Capra’s book A Systems view of Life is definitely an influencer. A Scientist has tried explaining the spiritual side of life and tried to integrate it with modern science.

What are you working on now?
I am working on the Data Science Astrology Volume 2 which is more on predictions based on Data Science and Astrology for public events.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Facebook and Twitter is a great way of promoting books. I think the great reviews received from friends and acquaintances is the opportunity that an author looks forward to. Socal media is social in all respects and writing books is a social activity which goes like the hand in a glove for promoting books.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
I can give advice to Non-fiction authors that you need to become the master of the field you want to write. If you are not an expert in any one field then think of the single one that will make you write a book. Do I have the expertise that others will like to read about?
Do some research along with your friends and family to find out if they would be interested in the area you want to write. Who would be your target audience of your book?
This should help you get started with your first idea

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never give up your Dream. If you have a dream you need to work hard to achieve it. There may be obstacles but you need to overcome them and move on towards attaining success.

What are you reading now?
A systems view of life by Fritjof Capra. I am reading it the second time to assimilate the writer’s ideas with more clarity.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I am on a mission to release the next 4 volumes of my Book Series Data Science Astrology. Madam President Rise of Matriarchy being the first.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

Awesome Author - Tammy Boeser

IMG_2393Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
This is my first ever book. The story is true based on my own experience of growing up in the 70’s, although I believe anyone could relate to this story. I kept a journal during this time and it proved to be a great story telling tool. I wrote everything as it played out in my real life. Some of it funny, some tragic and learning about my own sexuality was both a hoot and an inspiration!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The “Good” Girl by Tobie Reynolds
As stated before, the book is based on my real life Journals that I kept during my life growing up in the 1970’s. I chose the name for the book because while many of my friends seemed to be experimenting literally with Sex, Drugs and Whatever….I always remained the ‘good girl’. One boyfriend wrote in my High School yearbook: “To a girl that doesn’t go far to stay safe!” and added a stick man with an eye-roll!

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I just simply tell it like it is….good, bad and ugly! If it happened to me, I wrote about it just exactly how it happened and how I felt about what was happening at the time. Many friends have told me that I write like I talk, which makes them relate to my written word.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love reading!!! I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury in 2013 and was put on ‘Complete Brain Rest’ (yes, that is really a thing!) No reading! No computer! And very limited TV! Holy crap, I was bored and depressed. So when the doctor gave me the ‘green-light’ to start reading I absolutely ‘devoured’ every book I could get my hands on!!!!! Books that make me laugh and cry in the same story are what I like best!

What are you working on now?
I have always wanted to write a book about those people whom have suffered a tragedy and how they have coped. I have the vision that I would write the awful details that lead up to the tragedy and through the tragedy itself, title each chapter by the name of the victim. By the end of the book, I would hope to find a common bond that helped. I mean, I cannot imagine how a mother who has lost a child even gets out of bed every day! And I have always wondered what happens in those minutes between ‘Oh My God we’ve been in a terrible accident’ and help arriving. I want to expose those moments to help people realize how precious life is. As my mother used to say “In the blink of an eye!”

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I don’t even know….this is my first attempt. I need serious help! Ha Ha!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes, just speak from your heart! Don’t try to be someone else. If you try to simulate your favorite author, you will be doing yourself and your readers an injustice.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Never do anything out of Spite!” We’ve all been hurt before and our knee-jerk reaction is to strike back. My mother always held her hands over her heart (as if she were begging) and said “Never do anything out of spite!” I’ve passed that advice to my own children. It isn’t always easy to do, but if you retaliate to someone, you never really feel good about it, so either way…the bad guy wins. Don’t give them the power!

What are you reading now?
I just finished “The Girl on the Train”! Suspenseful and Funny!!!! Loved it!!

What’s next for you as a writer?
Finding out what people really think about this book will tell me whether or not I should pursue the love I have for writing. Or maybe I’ll just start doing the research on the project I mentioned before, talking to people whom have lived through tragedies and how they have made it through.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Help
The Fault in Our Stars
Anything by Olivia Cummings
Penelope Douglas’ work too.

Awesome Author - A Giacomi

mes2Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
*Waves* Hey all! I’m the author of The Zombie Girl Saga, a four part YA series. I’m a wife, and mother to two small humans. I’m a proud Canadian and super nerd! I’m obviously a zombie enthusiast, also a lover of all things Tim Burton, Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Marvel, Star Wars and just generally just love film!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Zombie Experiment, the 3rd book in The Zombie Girl Saga, it will be out October 16, 2016 from CHBB Publishing. The series was inspired by a dream I had back in high school about an undead superhero named Eve. It’s evolved a lot since then and the series is mega intense and quirky.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Sometimes I’ll listen to music and dance around before sitting down to write. Sounds silly but helps me get ready. I have another strange one that I do from time to time, I like to apply lipstick before writing, sometimes a little lip colour helps inspire!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
So many! Anne Rice, Charlaine Harris, Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, Seth Grahame-Smith, R.L Stine and that’s just to name a few. I’ve always loved a good scary story that’s not only creepy but quirky.

What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on book 4 of The Zombie Girl Saga, it’s sheduled to come out January 2017 and it’s the final book in the series. I’m sad to see it come to an end, but it’s been fun to write and I can’t wait to release it.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’ve found Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads and Instagram to be great ways to reach readers with common interests. I find that if readers like me, then they tend to like my books. My voice is distinctly in everything I write, so if you don’t like my sense of humour or geeky nature, then I might not be your cup of tea, but luckily people seem to interact with me.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
I’m still fairly new myself, but if I were to give any advice it would be to “push forward.” Sometimes it’s hard to believe in yourself, sometimes rejection hurts, but push on and never give up. Chances are if you’ve written something you love, then there’s a reader out there for it. We all have brain-mates (a version of soul mates) out there, I’ve met quite a few!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Stop reading reviews! Yep, actually have been told that a couple times now. Sounds strange but I think it’s healthier that way. If it’s a bad review you’ll dwell on it and if it’s a good review, it’ll swell your head…so basically it’s best to read nothing and appreciate the fact that the books are being reviewed. If you become obsessed with how many stars, it might take away from your main focus, which should always be the writing.

What are you reading now?
Currently reading:
Disappearance at Devil’s Rock by Paul Tremblay, it’s a lot like Stranger Things.
Hunter of the Dead by Stephen Kozeniewski. A vampire book that has my name in it! How cool is that?
and
Follow the Ashes (Executioner Trilogy, #1) by Kindra Sowder. Which reminds me of Supernatural but with chicks taking on demons.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m currently working on a poetry book, a supernatural romance, and a new YA series. So lots on the go! I’ve also always wanted to dive into Sci-fi a bit more, but we shall see if time allows for it.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Yikes! I would need them all!! But I suppose if I had to choose I would take Pride & Prejudice, Dracula, The Complete Works of Edgar Allan Poe and The Fault in Our Stars. Yep I’m a sap, and a sucker for classics.

Awesome Author - Beth Lynn

official-author-shot-2Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Beth Lynn and I am a teen author from South Florida. So far I have written 2 out of three books in the Glacier Trilogy. Glacier and Glacier: The Other Side follows the life of teen violinist Carly who wants to pursue a life in music. A boarding school known as Glacier gives her the opportunity to do just that. There’s only one catch. She has to become a vampire and leave behind everything she knows.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Glacier: The Other Side has similar inspiration to that of Glacier, the first book. I like to explore the pros and cons of following a dream or passion. Are all the sacrifices worth it? Why or why not?

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I usually don’t outline before I write. I have the idea in my head and try to get it out on paper. No matter how messy my first draft is, I keep writing until I finish. Then I go back and edit.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
JK Rowling, Stephanie Myers, and PC Cast

What are you working on now?
Glacier Volume 3

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My Blog: http://www.teenauthorblog.com/
Glacier’s Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/Glacier-1723951954548689/?fref=ts

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Technically, I’m a new author. My first book was published this year. My advice for aspiring authors is to not worry about style or content, but just get the words down on the paper. They can go back and edit later.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Take advantage of your education and resources.

What are you reading now?
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

What’s next for you as a writer?
I wanted to finish and publish the final Glacier novel before I graduate high school.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Books on survival. That just seems smart.
