Awesome Author - David Kummer

David-Profile-PicTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is David Kummer. I’m a 15-year-old author from Madison, Indiana, which is a little town on the Ohio River. I started writing when I was very young, about 9 or 10, but only published my first book last year in 2015 (As Trees Turned Away). My first novel came later that year (She), and since then I’ve published a novella, a short story, and an anthology with other authors. I’ve got plenty more planned, and have gotten almost all positive reviews!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book was My Abigail. There’s a plot twist about 3/4 of the way through, and I wanted to write a book centered around this. I won’t tell you exactly what that is, but I’ll say that nobody has seen it coming so far among my readers.

It’s about a boy named Caleb who meets a girl named Abigail. He soon realizes she’s not at all what he thinks. Caleb has to choose who he will hurt and who he will forgive. And in the end, somebody will die -in more ways than one.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I listen to depressing music, alternative music, or 80’s music. Some favorites are The Airborne Toxic Event, Death Cab for Cutie, and a plethora of more! If you want to hear all about my taste in music, email me at davidkummer7@gmail.com

Besides that, not much. I eat ice cream a lot. But that’s normal. I believe.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Cornelie Funke, Mark Edwards, J. K. Rowling, Christopher Paolini, C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Shelley, Robert Louis Stevenson, Jack Ketchum, Ike Hamill, and Stephen King

What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on three projects.

1) A Contemporary/Literary Fiction novel that has to do with Haiti.
2) A collection of Horror novellas, about a campsite and the mad camp owner.
3) A Fantasy novel that’s like Lord of the Rings, but with a lot more battles and no magic.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I use my newsletter of course, and Goodreads for sure. That’s probably the best.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never stop writing, and never stop reading. Even if you don’t sell well, keep going. You only have to ‘make it’ once, and then you’ll be up there with all the famous authors (who aren’t any better than you).

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
I heard once to ignore all bad advice, and to think about all good advice, then ignore it too. Just an interesting thought.

What are you reading now?
Right now I’m reading 1984 by George Orwell, and some random splashes of Horror wherever I find them.

What’s next for you as a writer?
After I finish these many projects I’m working on, I’d like to write a She 2 and another Fantasy novel.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Can I bring whole series? Yes? Okay, then.

Harry Potter series (by J.K. Rowling).
Inheritance Series (by Christopher Paolini).
How to Survive on an Island.
Some Horror book.

Awesome Author - Kyle Wagner

51XaO5fUD1L._UX250Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hey everyone. I’m a passionate writer and even more obsessive educator. I lead an innovative education program called Futures Academy at the International School of Beijing that uses project- based learning to connect students to the real world. To keep me happy, hand me a plane ticket and guidebook for remote corners of the globe, and I will wake up before the sunrises to explore. I love to write travel blogs, song lyrics and shout outs about the latest innovations in education. I just published my first book, the “power of Simple” which helps new school leaders use simple strategies to make their schools innovative and connected to the real world.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“The power of Simple” is my latest book. It is inspired by my journey in creating Futures Academy- a school without limits. Students learn to grow their own food, run their own businesses, and solve community problems through unique innovations.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Besides procrastination? Haha. My writing habits involves a lot of “stream of consciousness,” where I get a bunch of random thoughts out onto a paper. Ironically, these end up being the most coherent ideas. I also like to use the audio recorder on my Iphone when I run to record random bouts of inspiration and ideas that might be good for current pieces.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’m a nerd when it comes to books. I apologize in advance to big fans of fiction, as my biggest influences are all non- fiction or historical fiction. I like “Most Likely to Succeed” by Tony Wagner. I laughed out loud in Ellen Degneres’ book “My Point, and I do have One.” I cried in “Power of One” by Bryce Courtenay.

What are you working on now?
I’m working hard on my blog. I try to post once a week on my latest insights on educating the weirdest, but most interesting group of people on the planet- middle schoolers.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Word of mouth. Literally, this has allowed me to receive the most amount of downloads. I find that people don’t just “stumble” upon books like mine. It contains pretty radical ideas that only those who know someone who has attended a workshop or visited the school at which I teach would fully understand.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write first, think later. You can outline and research and never start your writing for years. Write first and then filter later. Your writing will sound more coherent this way.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Set goals. Writing is not always going to be fun. Like any activity, you have to put in the work that will allow you to improve and become more accomplished. If you set aside a certain amount of time each day, week or month; you will have a book in no time.

What are you reading now?
One World Schoolhouse by Salman Khan.

What’s next for you as a writer?
A sequel to the “Power of Simple.”

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Ender’s Game
Power of One
The Beatles Anthology

Awesome Author - Sally De Smet

IMG_0015Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I worked in a number of fields before making the decision to write full time. One day, I woke up and decided to stop letting life get in the way. I had a full time job; I would get up early and write for five hours before going to work. Time would fly when I wrote, and soon I looked forward to getting up—I wasn’t just working, I was following my passion.

My first book was PAGES IN THE WIND. It is a psychological thriller. It was a three year journey, published September 2015.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
PAGES IN THE WIND is the name of the book. I was inspired by psychology, a subject of interest to me. I wanted to explore the role of abuse or neglect on shaping identity. Prior to publication, I had a psychiatrist read the book for authenticity in terms of the research. He enjoyed the book and wrote me a testimonial, which I appreciated so much.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write as soon as I get up. I like the room quiet and I light a candle (corny, I know). I get ideas when I walk and listen to music.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’m influenced by authors that delve as far into the soul as possible. I also love the classics, and have the full collection of Harvard Classics. I’m determined to finish every volume.

What are you working on now?
I am working on a love story with mystery, called BROOKLYN BITTERS. It is a story about two very-different sisters and the trappings of family loyalty.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write every day. Read your words out loud after you’ve finished.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Do not confuse the reader.

What are you reading now?
English Poetry.

What’s next for you as a writer?
One book flows into another—I love stories.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Poetry, anything by Stephen King, and Don Quixote.

Awesome Author - Jennifer Lawrence

JL_seal-copyTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I love to travel and read. I have been to strange lands, met stranger people, known the strangest things. Every experience had helped me expand my mental horizons. But there will always be things that will be beyond our comprehension. They will always be things that would scare us.
But if you see closely, there is nothing more powerful than love itself. I want to tell these facts

Not First Love is my first book of fiction. I would not say I wrote this book but rather created the story. Writing a story is a creation from my heart.

Although I have written many articles on the topics I am gradually bringing to light in this book, it is my pleasure to present it in a story form. There are many things unknown in our world which influence us in a subtle manner, be it good or bad. Through my books, I am glad to make the reader familiar with these wonderful happenings and believe in their inner goodness.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I loved creating Not First Love. In this book, there are two stories, a sweet romantic one and another running parallel to it, which is more dark and mysterious.

An individual has many facets which are usually not apparent to us. An normal incident has hundreds of other factors playing into it. On one side there is the simple romance in the life of a man and woman. On the other more complex side, there are past lives, dimensions, dark entities to create chaos and good ones to protect. Whether we know or agree it does not matter. The alternate reality happens to all of us.

Arthur and Jan are not only the protagonists of this story – for me they are as alive as myself. In my imagination. Perhaps they truly exist in another dimension. They live in my heart. Their love gives me hope.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I may not say unusual but I usually write my stories in a fast paced manner. The good and bad point of this is the book tends to get shorter and more crisp but it may disappoint someone who is looking for more page numbers in a book. If you are looking for a good story, you will be pleased. I like to put facts in subtly, like there is a story behind the story. So if you look closely, you will find another facet of the story that you are reading.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I read way too many books. However, I like the way Ayn Rand gets to the depth of the characters and make them almost real.
The characters in my stories are perhaps the most important thing for me. I like to have them deep feelings. Portraying the difference in superficiality and deep human emotions brings out a reality we live in.

What are you working on now?
The sequel to Not First Love. The first part is like I said, the apparent love story. What is happening beyond the apparent, the parts we do not see in our lives but which have more influence over our present decisions. All this will be covered in the next part and this one is going to be a longer and more serious book than the first one.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I generally use social network and KDP Select tools to promote my books.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
There are many avenues which have not been explored. I would suggest them to find such areas of interest which matches with their truth and passion to create stories. I believe in creation rather than simply writing a story.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Imagination is everything.

What are you reading now?
Presently I am reading non fiction books mainly written by Maxwell Maltz and Dolores Cannon.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I have 3 more books lined up for the next couple of years.

Awesome Author - Ajit Jha

Author-ImageTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a freelance writer writing for clients from all over the world. Earlier I worked full time in publishing companies including the newspapers. This is my second book. The first book is “Buddha Smiles” that I self published on Create Space platform.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The name of my latest book is “Write or Wrong: Games people play offline and online”. The real source of inspiration for my writing career was my English teacher in class V, who wanted me to be a writer. As for this book, the real source of inspiration was my disenchantment with the kind of work I was doing. One day, I felt extremely put off with my work of writing for others and said, “what the heck! What am I doing, why am I doing this when I feel so disgusted?” I felt disgusted with the routine and monotony of the work I was doing. So, I decided to actually write. There is an apparent contradiction when as a writer you strongly feel you want to actually write. I will tell you what…when you have the freedom to write you are better off mentally and spiritually, but when you write under compulsion to be paid for each word you feel estranged and nothing is worse in life than the sense of disenchantment, a malady that is now so much common in the current cultural age. As for this book, I said let me write something that I actually want to write. I began writing without planning and went on and on till I completed the first chapter the very same night. I felt so wonderful that I decided I was going to complete it and then I began writing in a somewhat planned manner.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, indeed. I get really creative after midnight. That’s when I can access inspiring ideas. Also, I don’t think out and plan the scenes in advance. I let the instant flow of thought decide the events that will take place in the story. Sometimes, I have to change the plot I might have thought earlier as something better and appealing might flash to me while writing and then I decide to follow that course.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
In class V, I came across a series of books in the library with the title “I am so and so. I live in…” with the cover page showing a child from a particular nation pointing at the map of a nation on the globe. That’s how I came to know about the life of children in poor and rich nations. Then I started reading Enid Blyton.

After that I read “The Chariots of Gods”, “Life After Death”, “Damien Omen”, “Dracula”, and God knows what. But in Class VII, I read Munshi Premchand as part of our text and I was completely awed. I read several novels by Premchand and could not help weeping while reading. However, I used to be intrigued by the supernatural and paranormal kind of books. When I was in class IV, I bought the Hindi translation of Mahabaharata.

I was deeply influenced by the works of existential writers like Sartre, Kafka and Camus.

In the first year of college, I read “A Search in Secret India” by Paul Brunton. This was the kind of book, I could never tire of reading and hankered for more. Later I read, “Autobiography of a Yogi”. In short, my reading habits were not balanced and directed. I used to read anything that came my way but could remember the few that impacted me and forget the rest. I always wondered how my friends could so avidly read book after book like Harold Robins, James Hadley Chase, and Agatha Christie, while I could not hold my attention after trying few pages.

What are you working on now?
Right now I am working on a character who comes to India to outsource their fabric business but inadvertently lands into a soup with locals here. The media blows the story out of proportion while the protagonists and his Indian associate run away to hide in a monastery. It is in the process of running away and hiding into a monastery, the protagonist learns some valuable lessons one of which is that you’re a victim of your own fear. The world outside is only as good or bad as your personal sense of well being or fear. When you learn to overcome your fear, you overcome the greatest challenge you can ever have. The realization of this truth instills a huge sense of confidence in the protagonist, who comes to win back his business empire but by then he turns into a philanthropist and his wife looks after the buisness.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am experimenting with Awesomegang for the first time. I haven’t used any other method earlier.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
I would recommend them to explore the niche they are best at because writing itself can be very broad. So, if you are interested in writing fiction, you need to explore the genre further down – stories for children, teens or adults and what is going to be your central message.

Having once decided to write and having decided on the topic to be written, all you need to do is persist with writing because I know after writing first few pages, it is common to forget it and get busy with life.

Third and that is most important, you have to decide who are going to be your readers and how you are going to market your product to them. Like most of the aspiring writers, I also mistakenly believed that once you write, you are done with as your publisher will do the rest. That’s not how it really works these days. Writers must develop marketing skills to take their products across the readers’ spectrum

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
.The best advice from several sources I think I ever had is that you should concentrate on writing your first, the second, the third and so on books without worrying about the outcome of your marketing efforts, and then success will be yours.

What are you reading now?
I am reading “Twilight”. I tried to read Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul recently.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I would want to do some serious research for whatever I am going to write next time.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Holy Bible, The Bhagvad Gita and The Diary of Anne Frank. If I am allowed at least some papers and pen, I would want to write “The Diary of a Survivor on a Marooned Island”.

Awesome Author - Sean McKenzie

HeadshotTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a 34 year old man, with a lovely wife and two young sons. By day, I’m a mild-mannered policy advisor; by night, and on the bus, and on my lunch break, I’m a writer. I’ve been writing for a long time–plays, short stories, blog posts–and I’ve even had some of my work performed, but I’m quite new to the self-publishing world. My first book, Dicing with the Gods, came out on May 7, 2016, and I look forward to continuing to publish on a regular schedule of about 3 books per year.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Dicing with the Gods is the first of three novels centered around a character named Grug Smash. Grug is a barbarian straight out of Dungeons and Dragons. Like many of his kind, the player that created him thought it was more important to put his skill points into strength than intelligence, which leaves him with few dialogue options and a limited way to think his way out of situations.

There isn’t any one inspiration for Grug. He comes of many nights playing tabletop RPGs, including AD&D, and Shadowrun, but also great games like the original Fallout series (which had low-intelligence dialogue options), and a love of silly comedy, such as Monty Python and Kids in the Hall.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write best when I have no other options. I need to be in an enclosed space, with nothing but a notebook and some music to listen to. As a result, all of my first drafts are pen and paper. That choice also helps me avoid the urge to continually revise as I go instead of getting words down on paper.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
So many. So very many. Neil Gaiman, Elizabeth Moon, Guy Gavriel Kay, John Scalzi, J.K. Rowling, Arthurian legends (including the work of Mary Stewart), Chuck Palahniuk, Stephen R. Donaldson, Terry Pratchett, and Tolkien, naturally.

What are you working on now?
I’m currently completing Stealing from a Sorcerer, the second Grug Smash novel, with an eye to publishing it the week of June 13, 2016. I have also begun drafting the final book in the trilogy, which has a TBD awe-inspiring title.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My Facebook Page probably gets the most engagement, but I admit the promotion side is still something I’m working on. A mailing list is also an incredibly important thing for any author to have, as it gives you control over contacting your readers.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write. Then write some more. If your first book isn’t selling, write book 2. If your first book is selling, write book 2.

Create a mailing list. Link it in the front and back matter of your book.

It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Don’t expect overnight fame.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Basically everything Neil Gaiman said on the Nerdist podcast. No, really. Go download it right now.

What are you reading now?
The Odyssey (Homer, Fitzgerald translation), Invisible Monsters (Palahniuk), The Bourne Identity (Ludlum), The Human Division (Scalzi).

Typically, I have one bedside book, one downstairs book, and one digital book for when I’m on the go. Lately, I’ve also got one book going for a book club, as well.

What’s next for you as a writer?
More writing. Lots more. I’ve got a book full of ideas and not nearly enough time to write. My longer-term goal is to be able to go full time, but that’s at least a couple of years away.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
American Gods, (Gaiman), The Fionavar Tapestry (Kay), Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Rowling), and How to Survive on a Desert Island (Author Unknown)

Awesome Author - Stephanie Taylor

10986822_10207391910860816_2118285393878705876_oTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a high school teacher who lives near Portland, Oregon. My husband and I have been together for more than 25 years, and our daughter is a sixth grader. We love watching movies together, going to Disneyworld, taking road trips, and just hanging out as a family. I’ve written the first book in my women’s fiction series, the first of a series of middle-grade books with my 12-year-old daughter as co-author, and a contemporary YA novel under a pen name. The second books in both my women’s fiction series and our middle grade series are coming out this summer.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called “There’s Always a Catch: Christmas Key Book One”–I wrote the first incarnation of this book in 2008, and I’ve worked it over a number of times in the intervening years. After changes of characters, names, and plot lines, it’s finally all that I wanted it to be. The location (a fictional island called “Christmas Key” off the coast of Florida) never changed, and many of the secondary characters are the same, but it grew and shape-shifted over the years until I found myself wanting to spend as much time there as possible. I suppose it was ultimately inspired by the decade that my husband and I spent living in Florida, as well as my love of beaches and islands.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m a full-blown “pantser”–I sit and write anything that comes out. I’ve tried a number of times to plot and organize, but beyond creating playlists to listen to and inspiration boards full of pictures and ideas to look at, it has to just fly out of my fingers without forethought. I wish I could create fully fleshed-out story boards and outlines, but…part of the fun for me is finding out what happens to my characters as I go!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love books with time travel elements, and my favorites are “Replay” by Ken Grimwood, and “11/22/63” by Stephen King. I’m also a big fan of women’s fiction in general–anything where I can really see things through the eyes of the main character and relate to her in some way.

What are you working on now?
Book two of my “Christmas Key” series is nearly done. I just finalized the cover today, and I can’t wait to put it out. It’s been exciting how quickly this book has come alive after the years and years that I tinkered with “There’s Always a Catch.” My daughter and I are also working on the second book in our middle grade series. That one is fun because it’s a totally different voice and process when you write with another person.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m not sure I’ve hit on the “best” way yet. I’ve tried a few of the ones I read about on Kboards, and I’ve spent a few dollars here and there without having any big “wow” returns. Honestly, the best sales days I have are the days when one of my real-life friends posts on Facebook with a link to my book on Amazon and tells their friends to read it!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep at it. Write, learn, take criticism, write more, repeat. Be willing to hire someone to do the things you can’t. Most importantly: study, read, try to decipher the self-publishing processes and tricks, and hope for that magical lightning bolt of luck to merge with your effort and create magic!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“To write something you have to risk making a fool of yourself.” –Anne Rice

What are you reading now?
A book about self-publishing and a paperback by Jodi Picoult that I found in the house where we vacationed on spring break. Oh-and about a thousand magazines…the pile is always growing!

What’s next for you as a writer?
I want to keep integrating writing into my daily routine. I’ve gotten to where I sit down with my writing or with the promotion/book details end of things every single day. I would love it if I could find the magic formula to discover visibility on Amazon, and it would make me so happy if people discovered my books and loved them.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
“Anne of Green Gables” by LM Montgomery; the whole “Rabbit” series by John Updike bound into a single book so that it only counts as one (sneaky!); “Replay” by Ken Grimwood; “Green Squall” by Jay Hopler.

Awesome Author - Santosh Kanekar

DSC_6938Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have just published (22 May) my first book, Stop Reset Start. It is part of a series called Growth Rocket Series.

After leading high-performance teams for 17 years in executive roles, I became a Solopreneur. The mission was to impact many more individuals rather than just in one company. I have coached many individuals to fire their personal Growth Rocket. I have advised Startups and Hedge Funds.

I learnt Advanced Yoga to jumpstart my self-development and now teach Yoga to trainee teachers.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Stop Reset Start.

I had so many people coming to me for advice and I realised the common theme in it was the Winning Mindset.

Also, a lot of big corporations were gaining from my guidance and individuals I knew personally.

I wanted Small businesses also to benefit from my experience. They are not able to afford Top consultants and often, the biggest impact happens in such businesses when they get the Winning Mindset.

Also, a lot of leaders in corporations who are not yet in an executive role but are running departments or sales teams would love to know the exact steps to create high performing teams.

Hence, I wrote the book so that even the small guy now has a level playing field.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I always write first thing in the morning or don’t.

I prefer it to be really quiet so that the only sound is me hammering away at the keyboard.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Malcolm Gladwell for his observations and presenting a case often at variance with prevalent assumptions.

Stephen Covey and his seven habits made an early impression when I was in teens. The concept of Habits as the primary difference between success and failure is something I have taken away from his writings.

Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, which form the intellectual foundation for Yoga and the concept of Abhyasa, which can be understood as Deliberate Practice.

What are you working on now?
I am ready with the other books in the Series.

Stop Reset Start is about Reset and building the Winning Mindset. The next will be about Building the Foundation in the business. The third will be how to get Growth Fast.

I am working on a Book to improve the relationships between the Board and the CEO.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Word of Mouth

my website is santoshkanekar.com

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Focus on writing fantastic content. The Marketing part overwhelms the writing once it gets started.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Keep writing every day. This is so true. There are days when I get frustrated with the marketing part of the journey. But, If I have written something that day the day feels good.

I love writing and there is a certain soothing feeling of the sound of the keyboard.

What are you reading now?
Art of Strategy by Dixit and Nalebuff

Liars Poker by Michael Lewis

What’s next for you as a writer?
To develop an author platform where people come knowing that they will get the life changing material.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Collected Works of Kahlil Gibran

Jeeves Omnibus

Douglas Adams – Hitchhikers Guide to Galaxy

Patanjali Yoga Sutra

author-pic2Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a writer, veteran and mother of five. I live in a 100 year old farmhouse in rural Illinois, where I enjoy coming up with outrageous stories and telling them to whoever will listen, including my chickens. I’ve just published my first book and have many more planned.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Crazy in the Heart is my first book, and the first in a romantic comedy series set in the Midwest. It was inspired by the ten years I spent living in the small, beautiful town of Metamora, Illinois. I wanted to capture life in the rural Midwest at the beginning of the 21st century and how it changes (or doesn’t) over time. I started the first book in 2002 and then my life exploded. Apparently, when you write about Job experiences, God will send you a few of your own. The book sat untouched for a decade. I picked it up last fall and was able to finish and publish it in May of 2016. I promise my next one won’t take as long!

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I use the Miracle Morning routine to write. I work full time and have small kids, so I find very early mornings to be my most productive time. I also write over my lunch breaks at work (I’m an IT professional). I keep playlists for every book idea I have on Amazon Prime, and listen to those in the car or while I’m cooking/cleaning/etc. This helps me visualize scenes. It’s an important part of my prewriting, and I can do it anywhere and everywhere.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I come from a family of writers and most of them are indie authors. My mother, Anita Gordon (writing as Kathleen Kirkwood) is a huge inspiration. I watched her struggle in traditional publishing when I was a teenager. I watched how publishing and technology changed and was thrilled to see her go into self publishing. My other big inspirations are Oscar Wilde (my next book is a tribute to him) and William Shakespeare. I also really love the Bible, not just as a religious book but as great literature. The stories there are classic, and are often the basis for so many modern ones. The Book of Job is one of my favorites, and was the inspiration for Crazy in the Heart and my hero, Brett Jacobson.

What are you working on now?
I’m working on the second book in my Calpernica (Midwest) series, Wilde in the Heart (my tribute to Oscar Wilde). I’m also developing a romantic comedy series with superheroes in it. My brain just informed me that there will also be a romantic comedy series with magical objects, retelling classic stories (think Aladdin, Pymalion, etc)

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
This is an area I’m still learning about. Networking is huge- getting into groups with fellow authors, getting the word out with friends and family, setting up newsletters. There are so many pieces to the puzzle. I haven’t figured out the “secret formula” yet. I guess the best method is to keep trying, keep experimenting, and keep picking yourself up!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
If it terrifies you, do it. Don’t worry about what other people think. What kept me stuck the most in that ten year stretch of doing nothing was trying to fix something for other people. In the end, I figured out a way for my story to work without changing it. The solution was much simpler than I originally thought. Sometimes we have to step back, and sometimes we have to delve deep inside.

Ultimately, the story inside of you is about YOU. Honor it, give it space to breathe and grow organically. As authors, our job it to shape those stories into the best form they can be. They need a basic framework, but they don’t need massive formulas and over-production. Follow your gut and your heart when you write.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
It’s the opening quote from my next book:
“Be yourself. Everybody else is taken.”
~Oscar Wilde

What are you reading now?
I have a long list of books to review for friends and fellow authors. I’m also reading The CompleteWorks of Oscar Wilde, Book Marketing is Dead by Derek Murphy, and The Miracle Morning for Writers (preview copy- should be out very soon and I’m so excited!)

What’s next for you as a writer?
There are so many books in my head! My goal is transition to working at home as a full time writer, and living to be a thousand years old so I can write them all! The first book in my superhero series, Black Kat, should be ready by fall. It’s a twelve book urban fantasy/fantasy series. I’m hoping to have Wilde in the Heart by spring of 2017. Both series will keep my pretty busy for the next few years, and there are more series I’d like to work on- scifi especially. I like writing romantic comedy set anywhere and everywhere!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, The Complete Works of Oscar Wilde, and The Rhetoric and Poetics of Aristotle. (I know, I kind of cheated. Hard to only pick four books!)

Italian thriller writer. Published in Italy by Newton Compton editori, in France by City Éditions, in the UK by Head of Zeus’ Aria fiction.
Addict to mystery, esotericism, freemasonry, thrillers and action, I have published so far three novels (the fourth to be published in June 2016) and two essays.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Lost Book Prophecy (only in Italian): a thriller about terrorism and Nostradamus’ prophecies. The French seer inspired me a fast pacing plot of a classical thriller mixed with paranormal events.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
James Rollins, Steve Berry, Preston & Child, Dan Brown…

What are you working on now?
The second book of a new trilogy

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Twitter?

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Try the self publishing way. I started as a set published author, but take care of three important things: edit your book very well (better if letting a professional do the job); choose a catchy cover; keep the price low

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Cut that chapter! Shorten that scene!

What are you reading now?
The Caravaggio Conspiracy by Alex Connor

What’s next for you as a writer?
Meaning next steps? My fourth book will be published soon (16th June 2016)

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Maybe The Lord of the Rings and The Corpus Hermeticum

Awesome Author - Ellie Gray

Ellie-Gray-Profile-PicTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a contemporary romance author and a member of the Romantic Novelist Association. I live in the beautiful East Riding of Yorkshire and work full time in the public sector. I’m also studying for a Masters degree, although the end is in sight! I hope one day to be able to write full-time.

My debut novel was published in February 2016 with Tirgearr Publishing, and my second will be released on 15th June 2016. I also like to write young adult fiction, although I have not had any published as yet. I’m concentrating on my contemporary romance novels at the moment.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Love on the Nile is my second novel to be published and, as the name suggests, it is set in Egypt. I’ve always been interested (some might say obsessed) with ancient Egypt and my house is filled with shelves upon shelves of books on the subject. I even have a beautiful, Egyptian style sarcophagus standing in my conservatory, which sounds a bit weird, I know, but it is really beautiful and I love it. It actually opens and has shelves inside for books. So, with my interest in Egypt, it seemed fairly natural to set my second novel there.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really. I’m lucky enough to have small study where I can escape and shut myself away to write. I tend to develop ideas for novels in my head, planning out the full story before I even begin to start writing it. Of course, the stories change and move in different directions once I do begin to tap away on the laptop, but they rarely change much from my original plan – maybe the characters will come up with a different background, or an additional scene will suddenly appear, but generally I write in my head until I have a solid draft.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love reading. With reading comes the guilt complex, though – when I’m reading, there’s a little voice in the back of my head telling me that I should be writing. However, I know that to become a better writer, I also need to read as much as I can – so that’s what I tell that little voice when it whispers in my ear. I like to read a range of genres – contemporary romance, of course, but I also like to read the classics, Austen and Du Maurier, horror such as King, Herbert and Koontz, and I love the Harry Potter and Tolkein books. Oh, there’s the Sharpe series, I love those, and Elizabeth Peters with her Amelia Peabody adventures.

What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on my third contemporary romance novel – this one set in Whitby, full of stormy seas and stormy relationships.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
As a relatively new author, I’m still working that one out! I struggle with marketing and promotion – it doesn’t come naturally to me and, like a lot of authors, I’m more comfortable with actually writing than trying to sell myself and my books to others. I am working hard on it though, and have a dedicated website, an author page on FB, and use Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. I’m also finding there are some incredibly supportive and helpful website out there…such as Awesomegang!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Nothing that they won’t have heard from many other writers before me. Read a lot, write a lot. Learn about the technical aspect of writing – its really important to realise that finishing the novel is not the end. It’s a fantastic achievement, but you need to know that it is just a first draft, no matter if you edit as you go along. Once you’ve got the first draft done – that’s when the hard work really starts. The next part is about revising – character arc, pacing, plot.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Believe in yourself and work hard to achieve your dreams. Don’t listen to the naysayers – you can do it.

What are you reading now?
Elizabeth Peters – The Last Camel Died at Noon.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Hopefully, getting my third novel published. Once I’ve finished my Masters Degree, I’d like to try and work on my YA novel – see if I can get that one out there and published.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Still Life with Crows by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child – my favourite of their Agent Pendergast series.
Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkein (could I bring all three as one choice?)
Persuasion by Jane Austen

Awesome Author - Turner Tomlinson

IWasFramed_No-legsTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a chemical engineer currently working in the oil industry and I write on the side. I’ve only written the one book so far – The Shooter Act – although there’s a little asterisk to that. I’ve technically written three books, but only The Shooter Act has been good enough for prime time.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My most recent book – The Shooter Act – was inspired by the public shootings we seem to have constantly in this country. I was trying to figure out a way to fix it, and after I chased out some of the unintended consequences of the theoretical fix – a law that would be called The Shooter Act – I ended up with the story of political corruption that became my story. It’s a hell of a ride.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
This probably isn’t unusual for any other writers who also have a day job, but I do most of my writing in the middle of the night. I’ll come home after work and have the best intentions of sitting down to write immediately, but something about waiting until nightfall gets things flowing better.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Neal Stephenson, Stephen King, John Scalzi, Kurt Vonnegut

What are you working on now?
Right now I’m working on The Shooter Act’s sequel. It’s also a hell of a ride, but in some different ways. I think readers are going to be surprised as the trilogy shifts more from political conspiracy thriller to hard sci-fi towards the end.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Oh jeez, ask me in five years. I only just got my first book out the door and don’t have anything near a sample set of data large enough to make that call.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing! I had more than a million words under my belt before The Shooter Act, and I think the quality of it shows because of that. Also, if you feel a little embarrassed when you send your work out for review, know that that’s normal. If you wait until you are totally sure you won’t be embarrassed, then you waited too long. Do a first draft. Go over it again. Maybe give it one more read before you get it to a reviewer or editor who will give you feedback on the writing.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If you’re going through hell, keep going.

What are you reading now?
Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits, as well as The Smoke At Dawn.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Writing more! And trying to manage this hole marketing thing on the side, ha.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Dune, Ready Player One, and The Information. The first two because they’re great stories I could read over and over again, and the third for survival purposes.

Awesome Author - Ian Miller

Photo-1Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I now live in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. I live alone with my cat Horatio, my wife of 42 years having died recently, and I am semi-retired from science, and while I have largely worked in the private sector, I have still published 100 peer reviewed scientific papers, many of them single author papers. I entered Czechoslovakia from Poland just behind the Soviet-led invasion, I have been involved in the promotion of chemical-related businesses, I was a Director of two ICI joint venture companies, and I have had meetings with top politicians. I have also run my own company for almost 30 years. This experience has given me a background that is different from most authors. Accordingly, I think my novels are a little different from many, and I hope readers will find things of interest from them.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is “Ranh”, which is my name for a rocky planet around the young star Epsilon Eridani. My fiction tends to have different forms of governance as part of the background for the thrillers, and the Ranhynn are a race evolved from something like velociraptors. When they discovered evolution, they also discovered there were no fossils older than 67 million years, and they decided they simply had the date of creation wrong. Now, they have learned that they came from Earth, and some want to return to the planet of creation and rid it of those pesky mammals

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
No. I sit in front of a computer and write.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
In my youth, I enjoyed John Wyndham. I learned how to balance proper science in fiction without turning people off (I hope) by reading Fred Hoyle. I suppose Tolstoy’s War and Peace inspired me a lot because when I began writing again in the late 1980s, I wrote “Miranda’s Demons” which was my attempt at a War and Peace. After two decades of various alterations, I am quite pleased with it.

What are you working on now?
My latest project is ‘Bot War. The concept is that a psychopathic investment banker/trader intends to make a lot of money by short selling stock of certain companies, and to ensure the stock price falls, he has hired terrorists to launch captured robotic war machines at certain factories. The story follows the few who are trying to stop him.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have no idea. My approach is to keep trying and hope.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Back yourself -do not give up

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Back yourself.

What are you reading now?
I read a number of works by different Indie authors and write reviews to help them along. (If any reader wants to do the same for me, please do!)

What’s next for you as a writer?
I won’t think about the next project until I have at least finished the first draft of ‘Bot War. Then I may start planning another.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Probably Lord of the Rings, War and Peace, and some book on raft construction, survival, and primitive navigation.

Awesome Author - Robin Stone

avatarTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve been writing fiction since 2011, and started self-publishing romantic erotica in late 2015. I’ve published five novellas. I have plans to publish three more novellas, put some of my books into print, and prepare a box set by the end of 2016.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is Landscaper in Love, book three in my Landscaper Series. (The fourth and final book will be released in July 2016.) The series started with the book The Landscaper. The books in The Landscaper Series are told from the point of view of Kyle, the landscaper. Kyle meets Tracy and Eric, a couple with an open marriage. The books explore their growing relationship.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Nothing too unusual. I write with a site playing the sound of rain. It helps me concentrate on my story. If I start writing without it, everything feels off until I turn it on. I also write in bursts during the day and late at night, since I don’t usually get long stretches to write.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love hot romance and erotica. I like Em Petrova, Charlotte Stein, Jane Rylon, Selena Kitt and Patient Lee.

What are you working on now?
I’m working on Landscaper in Paradise, book four in the Landscaper Series. My readers love this series, and I’m trying to make it go out with a bang!

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’d have to say my three favorite places to interact with readers and promote my books are Facebook, Goodreads and Twitter. I love the interaction and discussions on Facebook. It’s easy for fans to share and recommend my books on Goodreads. I follow several people on Twitter who write and read erotica, and they’re good about retweeting when I have a new book available.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Read a lot in the genre you want to write in. Write as much as you can, the only way to get better is to write more. You can start with short stories or novellas if longer books are too intimidating at first.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Study the craft of writing and write the best book you can. Get an excellent editor so your work is polished. And be sure to hire a top-notch cover artist; covers are so important!

What are you reading now?
I’m working my way through Selena Kitt and Patient Lee’s backlist…their books are super hot!

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’ll continue to write romantic erotica in 2016. In the future I hope to publish some contemporary romance as well.

Awesome Author - NJ Slater

old-typewriterTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a recent convert to writing have been a rail commuter for years, forced to read in order to maintain my sanity. Over the last few years I decided it was time I wrote some books of my own, after all how difficult can it be?

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My most recent book is Peninsular Spy. It is the first sequel to An Agent of the King and is set in the Napoleonic Wars. Archibald Dexter, the hero of both books is everything Richard Sharpe is but a whole lot more. Archie is handsome, fiercely brave and women melt at his touch but there the similarity ends.
I wanted to create a believable but interesting hero, a man true to his times but in so many ways a man of the future in his time. Intelligent but rebellious, hedonistic yet patriotic, forward thinking set vulnerable.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Only if you call reading my work out loud as I write unusual.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
My favourite writers were Bernard Cornwell, Clive Cussler and George McDonald Fraser but then I was captivated by Julian Rathbone’s eccentric take history.

What are you working on now?
Between my 2 Napoleonic era thrillers I wrote The Black Knight, a thriller set during the turbulent 1880s, a time of terror and insurrection in London. My WIP is a sequel set in the early 1890s. The great powers of Europe are shifting their allegiances and a fateful realignment is taking place that will eventually lead to the Great War. In the midst of this sinister criminals and powerful men will seek to exploit the fault lines that develop. The fledgling secret service my be the last line of defence Britain has.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I will be honest, promotion is my weak point and I have not found a way to promote my work yet.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Enjoy your writing for what it is and do not dream of riches.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Do not write for yourself because you will always be impressed.

What are you reading now?
You are a long time dead -Guy Martin

What’s next for you as a writer?
Finish my WIP and then give some thought to investing in marketing.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Republic – Plato
Joseph – Julian Rathbone
History of the English Speaking Peoples – Winston Churchill

Awesome Author - Kirsty McManus

kirstyTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
In 2004, I was living in Japan and obsessed with Sophie Kinsella’s books. I thought her quirky, funny style would fit perfectly with the amazing country I was experiencing, and so I wrote the first draft of an 80,000 word chick-lit story in three weeks as an experiment. This eventually became my first novel, Zen Queen. It took six years to finish it properly, but it did quite well on Amazon, landing over 20,000 downloads in the first couple of months. I didn’t have a lot of time to devote to writing for a while, thanks to my two little boys and a busy web and graphic design business, but I have since wound back the business in order to spend more time doing what I love. I wrote a 50,000 word YA novel for NaNoWriMo in 2014, and finally launched my third novel in May this year (which I started three years ago!).

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called Saved by the Celebutante. It was inspired by my fascination with a society obsessed with people like Kim Kardashian and Octomom. I also love road trips and festivals, so I wanted to write those elements into a book. But I think most of all, I wanted to write about women in their thirties who haven’t had children yet and who might want to – and the pressure they feel to get pregnant before it’s “too late”.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Ha! When I’m in first draft mode, I use an on-line egg-timer to force me to just write. I wouldn’t say my writing process is particularly unusual, but then I don’t really know what other people do! I do like to make up sample covers for my books early on so it feels like they’re real things. I also like to search IMDB and cast actors in the roles of my characters.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
As mentioned above, I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with Sophie Kinsella’s work, although I haven’t actually read the Shopaholic series. I prefer stand-alone books, rather than a series. I am disappointed that romantic comedy isn’t mainstream at the moment, and that it’s difficult to find really good books in the genre. I do like more serious women’s fiction too though, and the occasional psychological thriller.

What are you working on now?
I always struggle to settle on a new project right after releasing something. It usually takes two or three months until I finally decide what I’m going to commit to. At the moment, I’m tossing up between a sequel to Saved by the Celebutante, a straight romance and a more serious women’s fiction story. (But there are two or three others I would like to work on too!)

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I promote my work through all the usual social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). I run a fairly successful Bachelor recap blog, so I try and indirectly promote my stuff there too. When I’m doing a give-away, I just contact all the reasonably priced websites I can find that offer to list your book for you.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Find some other writers who you can share your work with. You need as much feedback as you can get your hands on. And don’t expect to make a ton of money on your debut novel. It might happen, but it’s unlikely. Being successful as an author requires the same, if not more, effort than most professions. You need to keep at it to get good. But it can also be very rewarding if you finally break through and are able to get paid to do something you love. The positive reviews are great too!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write every day if you can. And don’t worry about writing badly. It’s better to have a bad draft to work with than nothing at all.

What are you reading now?
At the moment, I am reading the Haruki Murakami book Kafka on the Shore. Japanese fiction is so different to what I’m used to, but I like that it evokes so many confused emotions. I love in Murakami’s work, the descriptions are deceptively simple and mundane, but then suddenly something really bizarre happens. It’s jarring, but it keeps you guessing right until the end. I’m not sure I really understand any of his books, but I still love them and keep coming back for more.

What’s next for you as a writer?
More writing! I have also just joined a beta reading team to assist other writers with their work. But I hope to at least finish my next book by the end of the year and speed up the length of time between new releases!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Sophie Kinsella’s Can You Keep a Secret?, Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now, Haruki Murakami’s 1Q84 and Alexandra Potter’s Be Careful What You Wish For.

Awesome Author - Sufian Chaudhary

Sufian-ChaudharyTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Sufian Chaudhary, I authored a spiritual/inspirational book called World of Archangels that hit the #1 Bestseller in Spirituality and #1 Bestseller in Angels. To date is has been my greatest achievement and most successful career choice. I initially started out in the corporate world and after a life-changing event, I completely made a 180 degree flip and decided to dedicate my life towards teaching others by the Archangels.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
World of Archangels was inspired by thousands of spiritual encounters that ensued after meeting Archangel Uriel in my life. I was sitting on my couch one night at 3am in the morning, pondering about life and the decisions that led me to where I was, and all of a sudden I see this immensely powerful white light walking through my bedroom. It was like a scene out of “Meet Joe Black”, where I could see this being trying to communicate with me. I closed my eyes and it was like a giant eruption of light and energy coursing through my veins. This being introduced himself to me as Archangel Uriel.

What unfolded over the years preceding this night was miraculous. Thousands of ethereal encounters and powerful meetings with masters led me towards discovering the true meaning of life and learning how to follow my destiny.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes I do! I am an absolute perfectionist and I re-wrote my first chapter completely from scratch up to 11 times before moving on to chapter 2!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I was deeply inspired my Unveiled Mysteries by Godfre Ray King– the book written about the divine meetings with St. Germain. This book changed my life. I always had a passion for spiritual books, sometimes forbidden books no longer in print, and also a dabble here and there in fantasy and fiction.

What are you working on now?
I just finished recording God Gifts Guided Meditations which accompany my book. I recorded over 6 hours of materials and meditations in order to empower humanity through the most immersive way possible.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Amazon Free Kindle promotions are a great way to build up interest around your book and reach an audience who may not necessarily reach it otherwise.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Design a VERY good front cover with the best graphic artist you can afford and give your book a powerful name that describes your efforts to its fullest.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never ever stop believing in yourself!

What are you reading now?
I’m reading a book by a personal friend of mine who just finished writing an autobiography and personal memoir that inspires people into embracing the true depths of the spiritual world!

What’s next for you as a writer?
I am currently on the road promoting my materials, giving lectures, seminars, creating videos and building momentum surrounding World of Archangels and my Guided Meditations.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts

I would spend my days immersed in an incredible journey that I would never ever stop reading!

Awesome Author - Patrick Wayland

bikeTell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
The Nialhaus Proxy is my third book, although I have had a few short stories published. I’m a software developer by trade, but my passion is in writing and you can often find me in a coffee shop with my laptop writing.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Nialhaus was inspired by years of living and working in Silicon Valley, which is an interesting place and has a lot of characters. Everyone hears about how productive and high-tech it is, but it has it’s bad points too. For instance, it’s a terrible place to be a single guy because of the ration of men to women, and if you’re not working in high-tech then you probably can’t afford to live there.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I like to read a lot of older books – my favorite author is Graham Green and I read a lot of Hemingway, but I also love James Clavell because of his cultural experiences and Joseph Heller’s humor. I used to read a lot of science fiction like Asimov and Heinlein. For more modern books, I like John Grisham. So, I’m sort of all over the map.

What are you working on now?
A thriller series about an FBI Cyber Crime analyst. It will have a lot of high-tech crimes and masterminds.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Taipei

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Join a writers group. Listen to feedback and respect your audience.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never give up. Never give up! We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds… oh sorry, I think I miss quoted that.

Awesome Author - Romuald Andrade

41Qt-kczQFL._SX150Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m Romuald Andrade, Author, Digital Strategist and a Productivity Geek. I help people achieve their personal goals by helping them design their life and business goals by helping them improve their digital marketing efforts.

I am the author of several books which are available on Amazon. My books are mainly in the genre of habits and self help.

I’m passionate about living a healthy, balanced life, about traveling, online business and productivity. My biggest passion though is growing, via continuously learning and teaching but it was not always like this…

Several years ago, I was mentally and physically exhausted. On the outside, I was a success, having just won the Employee of the Year award at the company where I worked.

This was no mean feat, since I was running against almost 5,000 other employees.

I was proud to be the manager of my award-winning team, a position where I understood the importance of productivity.

Yet I was on an eternal “hamster wheel,” always running against time to complete my work and stay ahead of the curve, with numerous distractions and roadblocks blocking my way.

I knew that I had to change my ‘CrazyBusy’ life… a change that came about when I read a book by Dr. Stephen Covey and decided to put it into action.

In order to be successful and happy, you have to pinpoint the things that are important to you.

It could be finding a particular job, having a happy relationship, fulfilling a desire to travel, or all of those things.

Your life has to be about what you want, not just what sounds cool or looks good to others.

Since I came to this realization, I have been working continuously on delivering my message to a large number of people. And my message is simply this – “You can design the life of your dreams and I can show you how to do that”

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Stephen Covey, David Allen
