Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Im Sven, German origin, but currently living in Chile. I work in shipping full-time, which luckily made me travel the world and visit 30 countries. I lived on 4 different continents for at least 3 months (Germany 20 years, Chile 10 years, South Africa 1 year, Hong Kong 3 months) and speak 3 languages fluently (German, English, Spanish), and some Portuguese.
Sports and travelling are my passions.
So far, I have written travel guide books about Hamburg in Germany, Chile, and another one about travel anecdotes, so with my latest book about Berlin, I have written 4 in total.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
UN-BERLIN-ABLE TRAVEL GUIDE

It is a travel guide about the German capital Berlin. I have been to Berlin about 8 times, and every time I enjoyed my stays a lot. The multicultural scene is something truly unique, but there is just so much to do, that I always wanted to write a guidebook about this amazing city.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
From time to time, I post promotions on my Instagram account:
https://www.instagram.com/part_time_globe_trotter/

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just start writing, its important to have deadlines, but its even more important to just start and work continuously on your book.

I started in the pandemic when I wasnt allowed to leave the house.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Im thinking about writing another travel guide about South Africa. I did a voluntary social year there between 2007-2008.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi, I’m an author of fantasy, romance, & horror novels.

I was born and raised in the Memphis area, and I have three kids, two pets, and one husband. I’ve got a BS in Biomedical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Memphis plus I’m pursuing a Masters of Liberal Arts in Creative Writing from Harvard. I love knitting, yoga, wine, video games, reading, board games, baking, and traveling. I’m awful at social media and answering phone calls, but I have a knack for getting people to tell her their darkest secrets and deepest desires.

I’ve written five books so far. Two are available to buy now – The Girls From The Arch Guild and Johnny’s Hugs. Two will be available to preorder soon – Hummingbird and Go To Hell. You can read the first draft of these on Kindle Vella today. One is a secret passion project that I bet you wish you knew all about.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Coming soon in May 2022 is Hummingbird, a time travel fantasy adventure story about a girl who discovers she has the innate ability to weave the fabric of time and space just like her mother who disappeared several years ago. I wrote this tale to combine three of my favorite worlds – Doctor Who, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Witcher.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I like to spend most of my writing time organizing my spreadsheet planners instead of actually writing…

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Mary Higgins Clark, Stephen King, Margaret Atwood, and Madeleine L’Engle are my idols.

What are you working on now?
Currently drafting live via Kindle Vella is Go To Hell, a dystopian paranormal horror story about a woman who gets sent to Heaven when she dies only to discover that Heaven isn’t the paradise she expected. Now she must go to hell to rest in peace. I’m writing this tale as the result of the thought experiment – What if it turned out that Heaven actually sucks? Where would you go?

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Check out my Facebook page @booksbyholli and my Instagram @hollijcox for the latest info on my books!

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Just do it. You may never feel like it’s good enough, but it is!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Nothing to it but to do it.

What are you reading now?
Just finished Verity by Colleen Hoover. 5/5 – it is 100% worth the hype.

What’s next for you as a writer?
Just looking to write more books and reach more readers.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, The Complete Collection of Sherlock Holmes, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve probably written 37 some odd books; several floating for free on the web, with some of those also self-published on Amazon. The Starry Gnosis: An American Revelation is integral to everything I learned about the religious history of our culture, derived from the Sidereal Astrology of the ancient skies. And how that becomes ‘An American Revelation,’ is important to every American to understand; especially in light of the Rosicrucian and Masonic connections held by some of our Founding Fathers.
I donate all proceeds to our historical Gnostic Church of L.V.X., and work hard as its Direction, to help it grow. This church is the flower of a life’s work from 1986, when I first became a Thelemite; into 1992 when I first joined the A.’.A.’.. Today, I run a lineage of the A.’.A.’. and run my own blog; working publicity for our church.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My writings overall, have grown on a ‘need to know’ basis; but night in the obvious manner. I needed to know and wrote as I investigated the many avenues of the Western Mystery Tradition. But of late, I have been writing for my blog; appending and expanding what I put into my books. This includes the YouTube channel I’ve been putting together for our historic church and congregation. It’s become an educational channel in several ways. I’ve also just completed a major commentary on Jung’s Red Book, and I’m on the verge of getting back to my translation of Liber Loagaeth; the first ever attempted.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Much of my writing is done in one or two drafts; but I often put together a draft set of notes, with ideas to put together.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I can possibly draw from several influences; but I personally draw into Ralph Waldo Emerson of late. Sometimes I feel as if either I’ve channeled him or recalled something that stuck to his ‘center of knowing’ and got caught up in me; being its reincarnation. I’ve always felt something like this; having grown up in this part of the country; where he hails from. And now, living in the woods of this region; where so many new religious vehicles made the original pioneering audience that this country had, in spiritual matters.

What are you working on now?
I’m finishing my tying up of a host of loose ends in my writing; that I can finally get down and focus on my Liber Loagaeth translation. I want to get this out on Amazon and feel this will be my greatest contribution to Thelemic thought. It’s a huge job, yet ahead, that I both yearn to, and am trepidacious of.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I seem to have best brought attention to my work through Facebook. I am now, more consciously working other avenues, and feel it was a mistake to think that it was the only functional vehicle for me. So I am trying to figure out other approaches.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
I would suggest that you begin a routine of self-publishing on Amazon, and create social media pages and sites for each book you write. Let people build a community around the theme of your books, and make yourself a center of attention on these pages and in these groups.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Carpe Diem!

What are you reading now?
The Brothers Karamazov by Doestoevsky

What’s next for you as a writer?
Liber Loageth and a mind swimming in a mytho-poeic field of imagination and wonder.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Holy Books of Thelema
Babel by Patti Smith
The Red Book by Carl Jung

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an American author and the CEO/owner of equestrian sports medicine company Professional’s Choice, Inc. I’ve written over forty novels in various genres including thrillers, mysteries, young adult mysteries, fantasy, and women’s fiction.

I’m a lifelong equestrian, having horses since I was five-years-old. If you don’t find me at my desk writing, you’re sure to find me at the barn!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Engagingly Dead: An Ella Extraordinary Eats Mystery. What inspired this series are a few things. The first is that I loved writing The Wine Lover’s Mysteries in the early 2000’s. Those books gained a large readership and the characters were so fun. When I wrote that series I was in my 30’s and wrote my protagonist Nikki Sands in her early 30’s. It’s now fifteen-years later and I wanted to write a series that had the same comedic tone, the food/recipe aspect, the mystery, and of course a bit of romance to it. I’ve found that as a fifty-something woman I face different issues than I faced in my 30’s. I wanted to create a character who is dealing with some of the things that I can relate to and I think many people in my age group are also dealing with… in this series, Ella is approaching fifty. She’s raised three daughters and is now an empty nester without a partner to nest with as her ex-husband left for a younger version a few years back. She’s trying to find her purpose in life and through the insistence of her bff, her daughters and even the ex, Ella (who has always been a fantastic cook) opens up her own catering business. Of course, there’s murder and mayhem involved a few laughs, some humor and an element of real life seriousness thrown in. So…essentially, what inspired this book/series was the very first mystery series I wrote (now being turned into a feature film) and my own personal life—except for the murder part!

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don’t know that I have any unusual writing habits. I do rotate my writing spots depending on my mood. There are times I write in the kitchen because I like the light in there, other times I write in my bed because it’s warm and cozy and I don’t want to get out of it! I definitely write in my office. If I have a block, I get up and walk or I lie down and daydream and see where my imagination carries me too. Walking definitely helps! I will start speaking dialogue out loud. So, if you see me talking to myself, I’m not crazy. I’m, just expressing my characters!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Growing up I read a lot of Stephen King, Anne Rice, Agatha Christie, James Patterson (as an adult). Stephen King’s book on writing was very inspiring for me. There are so many, it’s hard to think off the top of my head!

What are you working on now?
As I mentioned, I am working a new mystery series with the first titled Engagingly Dead. I am also outlining the fifth Holly Jennings’ Thriller and I am writing scripts set in various area of the equestrian world.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
This is tough as publishing is always changing. I use Instagram and Facebook but have recently jumped on TikTok. I think if you believe in your work, you kinda have to throw it all against the wall, utilize the avenues that feel authentic to you and see what sticks. There’s no wrong or right here.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Passion, Purpose, Persistence, Patience, Peace. (My 5 P’s….)
If you’re not passionate about writing then don’t do it. There are no guarantees to success own this path so if you don’t absolutely love to write with every part of your being, then do something else.
Purpose: If you feel as passionate as I mentioned above, then you’ll know that writing is your purpose and you owe it to yourself and others to live this purpose.
Persistence: Don’t give up. Ever! I had over 200 rejection letters and 8 manuscripts written before becoming a published author.
Patience: Understand that it’s not likely you’ll become an overnight success so be patient, write a book and then another and then another…and another… patience pays off in this game.
Peace: Have the peace of mind when you release a book that you did the best you could at that time. Know when to let go. We can always make it better and five years from now you’ll look back and know it could be better because you grow as a writer. But for now, know you did your best (and make sure you have) and then let it go.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
BumGlue. This comes from my mentor who has now passed (Bryce Courtenay). Bryce was the top selling author in Australia for many years. He wrote some amazing works. The advice he would give to new writers is to glue your bum to the chair and write. You won’t have book without doing the writing/work.

What are you reading now?
Embassy Wife by Katie Crouch and 8 Secrets to Manifesting by Mandy Morris.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I am enjoying writing screenplays so I’ll write more of those and see where it takes me. I’ll always write mysteries and thrillers though. Ideas are everywhere!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Black Stallion, Little Women, the Bible, The Alchemist

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve currently released my 8th book entitled, New Sensation. It is book 3 in my Love and Lush series. I’ve always been a strong writer with an active imagination, but it wasn’t until I turned fifty that I began to take my writing seriously and want to make a go at being an author.

I live in Florida currently and have a grown-up daughter. I started doing TNR with feral cats after I noticed my neighborhood had a huge problem with ferals. I have socialized many, found homes for kittens, and luckily, I have a big backyard that they can roam in.

I’m a huge fangirl of 80’s music and a lot of my writing inspiration comes from the rock stars I listen to. I love photography and dancing. I collect Funko Pops from my favorite tv shows, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and The Mandalorian.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest novel is entitled New Sensation. The title comes from a song by Aussie musicians, INXS. The first book in the series, Eternally Wild (an INXS song lyric) was inspired by a dream I had about meeting the ghost of their late lead singer, Michael Hutchence. I thought it would be just a “One and done” situation but then got an idea for a sequel which became Heaven Sent (also an INXS song title).

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Apparently, it’s very unusual not to write to market. I’ve been told to find the ”secret” formula for a particular genre and write that formula in order to sell books. But I’ve never done that which is why my books can cross over into many genres. Yes, they are romance, but I put a ton of drama and heartache into them. I also tend to kill people off. Oops!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
In my late teens and twenties, I read a lot of historical romance. (I even met Fabio once, great guy!) But at that time, I wasn’t even considering writing my own novels, even though I had one that I’d written when I was eighteen. I grew up reading Stephen King. I love Jonathan Kellerman’s books, and I love reading books about the psychology of serial killers, but I have no desire to write horror or mystery, or anything about killers. I’ve always been a voracious reader though and feel every book has worked its way into my psyche in some way and acts as an influence.

What are you working on now?
I currently have four novels I’ve started. My day job wipes me out mentally, and I’m finding it more difficult to get motivated to write. I’m hoping to complete some of those projects this summer.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’ve not found a best yet. I try to be everywhere and engaging on social media. But I honestly knew nothing about promoting until I got the rights of my first four books back from my original publisher and began doing things on my own. My best investment has been with the Kindle Rocket program. It taught me so much. I honestly thought my publisher was handling these types of things and they weren’t. I finally began seeing sales once I became an independent author.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write every day, even if it’s only a sentence or two. I used to live by this and lately it’s fallen by the wayside. If you get stuck, go back and read what you have from the start. That sometimes sparks something in me to continue on.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“If you can’t say somethin nice, don’t say nothin at all.” from Bambi

What are you reading now?
Nothing. I’ve spent the last few weeks editing my new release. Over and over again!

What’s next for you as a writer?
Working on the four projects I’ve started but not yet completed.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Story to story: The Official Biography of INXS (can read over and over
The Potlatch Family by Evelyn Sibley Lampman (my fave as a preteen)
Desert Angel by Charlie Price (suspenseful young adult novel I loved)
Before we were yours Lisa Windgate (a favorite of ones I’ve recently read)

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m the author of two children’s book (with more on the way!) and I’m passionate about seeing children and young people develop positive character formation, and make wise and healthy life choices. My books reflect this passion and are designed to not only be engaging and fun, but also to stimulate thought and discussion regarding behaviour and life choices.

I have worked within the area of International Community Development since 2004, and have a Masters Degree in Intercultural Studies, with a concentration in ‘Children at Risk’. I have lived and worked in Uganda, India, North America, and South Africa, at various levels of project management and leadership.

My work has allowed me to combine a number of my passions – football, community development, and children’s and youth work, and I’ve developed and run numerous football projects as a means of supporting community and personal transformation around the world.

I currently work as the Global Coordinator of Oasis Football for Life, supporting the implementation, development, and resourcing of ‘Football for Development’ projects across the global Oasis family.

I wrote my first children’s book, “Kolo and the Mighty Mangoes”, as a tool for helping children in Uganda think about positive character formation and to help equip them to make wise and healthy life choices.

The book has been well received there, but also in the UK, particularly with schools and children’s groups, where children have enjoyed exploring the discussion questions at the end of each chapter.

Away from working and writing, I enjoy reading, running, and playing football.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My new book is called “Kolo and the Mango Park Mystery” and it continues the story from my first book, “Kolo and the Mighty Mangoes”, although both books can be read as single books.

I lived and worked in Uganda for many years and I wrote the first book initially as a way of teaching and mentoring children in the football programme I was running. The first book was well received in the UK and elsewhere and so I decided to continue the story with the second book (and there’s a third on the way!)

The first book seems to be having an impact in helping young people think through life choices and decision making, so I wrote the second one to continue that, and hopefully have greater impact.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really, I tend to write when I have an idea or simply when I have the time. I’m constantly thing through ideas however, and carry a notepad to jot down thoughts until I can get to my computer. When I’ve started a story, I try to write a chapter at a time, and tend to just write straight off and then go back to edit it.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I like books and authors of all styles and genres, but Matt Haig has been fine of my favourite authors of recent years. In terms of influence I suppose I’ve been inspired to some extent by J.K. Rowling. The Harry Potter world is one of fun, adventure, and numerous challenges. The characters in the stories require good skills and good character to overcome these challenges and to some extent my books do the same.

What are you working on now?
I’m working on the third book in the “Kolo and the Mighty Mangoes” series which I hope will be available before the end of the year.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’ve not done a huge amount of book promotion but find ‘word of mouth’ has been quite successful. I’ve also recently set up my own website, and Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages, and have author pages on Amazon and Goodreads.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write about what you know – and what you are interested in. That way writing will be a joy (most of the time) rather than a chore. I think for children’s books it’s important to make your writing humorous, and to capture the imagination of the author. Think of extraordinary things and themes that children might get excited about.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
To just write! Don’t be too stressed about having everything perfect or planned out as you begin. Once your ideas are down, or you start to write them, things will start to flow, and then you can edit your writing later.

What are you reading now?
I’m currently reading Anxious People by Fredrik Backman

What’s next for you as a writer?
My new book in the series! And hopefully to get the first two books made into audio books. I’ve also got a school visit planned in May, to talk about my books and my writing.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irvine
The Beach by Alex Garland
