Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I have written one kids book (so far).

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Dogs! A Through BreedZ – Most people write a story and then find an artist to provide imagery for a kids book. As a trained illustrator, I went about it the opposite way. After creating several commissioned pet portraits for clients, I realized that I didn’t know too many dog breeds aside from poodles and bulldogs. The more I looked into each breed, the more I realized the topic could make for a really good kids book. Little did I know it would completely take over my life for almost two years and feel like the perfect job.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I think the only thing considered unusual would be the need to inject both humor and fun facts into each verse and have everything rhyme. Lots of time was spent on the flow of things. So many times, I would stare at the screen for hours and change a few words here and there in order for it to sound a little more polished and ensure the joke landed properly.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Shel Silverstein, Dr. Seuss (Wacky Wednesday in particular), Bill Waterson (Calvin n Hobbes), Todd Mcfarlane, Disney, Pixar, and various cartoons throughout the years

What are you working on now?
Currently I’m in the process of learning how to sell/market this first kids book. I may do a few commissions before the holidays, and then begin work on book #2.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m new to this world, but so far Facebook worked very well. I will be testing things out more on Instagram and see how that fares.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Buckle up. This will take longer than you think it will! Whether it’s a novel or a kids book, there will be a significant learning curve. Keep rolling with the punches. If it’s important to you, stay stubborn and keep going.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Just keep swimming.” – Dory

What are you reading now?
Stephen Kings “The Dark Tower: Book 5” – It’s a looong one.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I have several ideas for books, but I think a follow up to this first book makes the most sense. More dog breeds. More fun illustrations!

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
I’d much prefer to have a fishing pole, machete, and a flint if I’m being honest.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am the author of 35 books and have worked as a ghostwriter on numerous projects. My byline has appeared in major publications all across the U.S., and I have written articles for over 200 websites.
In 2002 I launched “I Love To Write Day” as a grassroots campaign to have people of all ages practice writing every November 15th. Bookstores, libraries, writing groups, community centers, schools and even a few malls have joined in the celebration. Learn more about I Love To Write Day at ilovetowriteday.com

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Flying Nun, A Light Bulb Moment And Me: 40 Years Making Money As A Freelance Writer (Hey, You Can Do It, Too!) is my 35th book. I was inspired to create it because my passion is helping writers learn how to use their gifts of creative communication to make money.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Like many writers and authors, I tend to procrastinate when it comes to working on a new project. However, once I get started, I am on fire to finish! I am an early riser, and usually at my home office desk by 7 a.m. and work until around noon. If I’m on a tight deadline, I sometimes work a few hours in the evening.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have read most of Stephen King’s books since he started publishing them, and his books, career and writing advice has been very helpful. I also found the “Spenser” books by the late Robert B. Parker to be inspiring as well.

What are you working on now?
I am currently working on my 12th children’s book.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
“Marketing, marketing, marketing…and more marketing is the key to success when it comes to promoting your books. Sadly, I meet too many authors who either don’t want to promote their books, or are afraid of the process. I have learned a great deal about what works…and what doesn’t work…in promoting my own 35 titles.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
First tip: “Believe in yourself!”
Second tip: “Never give up!”
Third tip: “Read as much as you can about the publishing world, and don’t be afraid to jump into the pool!”

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Writers need to read…and read…and read. The more you read, the better you will write!

What are you reading now?
“Your Next Big Idea” by Samuel Sanders

What’s next for you as a writer?
I will continue to write books and encourage everyone to celebrate “I Love To Write Day,” a grassroots campaign I launched in 2002 to have people of all ages practice writing every November 15th.
“When people become stronger writers, they become better communicators…and everyone wins!”

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
“The Stand” by Stephen King
The Bible
“Surviving On A Desert Island For Dummies”

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m an ex military medic that wrote my first book as part of a way to rid my PTSD demons, it kind of worked. But that’s just one label, I’m now wanting to take life and enjoy the simple pleasures, such as coffee, music, dogs, paddle boarding, growing my own food etc. Sounds like a hippy philosophy handbook, maybe that’s what I’ll write about next.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Black Dog Singing in the Dead of Night came about from about two years worth of sleepless nights, due to military grade PTSD. The nightmares, the avoidance techniques just wore me down, so the only way was up and that started by writing this book.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
A bad habit of writing how I speak, sometimes I should engage the brain first.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
So so many, Call of the Wild, Beau Geste, Heart of Darkness, Into the wild to name a few.

A book on mushrooms and how they have shaped our world

Jason Meuschke

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a devoted husband, family man, fisherman, and writer. And mostly in that order except when I need to meet a deadline. I’ve had a passion for telling stories my whole life. Growing up, I’d write short stories of my friends, and me on adventures or rescuing our school, and families from various bad guys. My wife pushed me repeatedly over the years to take it more seriously and really give it a go. She even signed me up for correspondence courses with a writing institute and later got me my first writing software program. Over the years I’d try but was always hung up on how to get past the muddy middle, or overthinking who would want to read my stuff and would instead focus more on my day job. When I became a grandpa, however, it finally clicked for me. “I’m wasting time!” I thought and immediately devoted my free time to writing and learning more about the process. I’ve written, and published three books since then!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest is called, Bandit Rising. It is book one of a series called, The Bandit Chronicles. It is an 80s-era Sci-Fi inspired by my love of the old action movies of the 80s. It’s like V the (original) miniseries meets Red Dawn (again-the original) with a little Blast From the Past mixed in. After reading Ready Player One, I wanted desperately to write my own ode to the 80s and do it in my own way. I started asking myself what might I have done as a 12-13-year-old back in the 80s if aliens invaded our planet? All of a sudden, it began to take shape and the Bandit was born!

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m a very practical kind of person. When I decided I was wasting my time not writing, I immediately cut out early morning tv and gaming and gave that time to writing. The same goes for what I like to listen to at work. I could listen to music, but I’d prefer learning more about writing craft through podcasts. Because of this practicality, I’ve taught myself how to get back into my writing whenever the time is available. Sure, it’s great to spend an hour or two writing but sometimes I only have 5-10 minutes. And sometimes that’s on my phone (thank you, Scrivener!). To me, it’s not that odd, but in talking to a lot of my peers, it seems I am a bit of an oddity, haha!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Obviously, I have to mention Ernest Cline’s, Ready Player One for getting me thinking about my own most recent book. One of the things I enjoy most about his writing, and something I aspire to myself, is just how much fun his storytelling is.
I also adore most anything from Robert R. McCammon. His characters, no matter how outrageous, are so incredibly fleshed out and depicted that you can’t help but feel like you know them. And I love that in nearly everything he writes, there is a supernatural event, ability, or character, that is blended to exist perfectly well within the natural world around it as if to say, “well why would it be anything else?”

What are you working on now?
Currently, I’m splitting my writing time between two projects. One is finishing book two of the Bandit series while the other is a supernatural thriller about a haunted stretch of highway in the Missouri Ozark mountains.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Actually, I’m exploring more options with this new release including this website! Prior to Bandit, I mostly just spread the word on social media. I also talk a little about my books/writing on my own podcast and occasionally do an interview on other podcasts. In-person events are my absolute favorite thing to do though.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Get involved with, or begin a local writing group! Yes, you can learn from books, courses and classes, webinars, and podcasts. But getting immediate feedback from peers in a group is invaluable! You don’t always have to accept/use their advice, but at least let their words soak a bit and consider if your readers will think the same.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Writing advice? Probably a combination of “Write every day” which helps keep you connected to the work, and “Don’t edit as you write.” Just get the first draft done no matter how ugly it is. Getting it done is the most important part, the editing comes later.
As for life advice, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
Oh, and, “check your line after every catch, LOL.”

What are you reading now?
The Beast: A Bigfoot Thriller, by Armand Rosamilia.
Awaken Online: Hellion, by Travis Bagwell
Body Trauma: A Writer’s Guide to Wounds and Injuries, by David William Page

What’s next for you as a writer?
To get the next couple of books in the Bandit series done as quickly as possible. I know some readers will wait until you have a few books in a series before beginning because they don’t want to invest in something that doesn’t appear to be continuing (cough cough GRRM cough cough). But as much as I enjoy writing Bandit’s adventures, I want to continue writing thrillers that are a little outside the box. Those are the stories that call to me.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Wolf’s Hour, by Robert R McCammon
Ready Player One, by Ernest Cline
Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight
Where the Red Fern Grows, by Wilson Rawls

Barney Cargile III

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a semi-retired pastor who loves writing, travel, and playing “monster” with my grandkids. My wife Linda and I have two children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandkids. We live on our organic farm “in Sonoma County, California. Thus far, I’ve written two books, “Thriving in Quarantine”, a number-one best-seller, and “Thriving in Troubled Times,” a fifty-day devotional book.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Relaunch of “Thriving in Quarantine.” We were passengers on the Grand Princess cruise ship, when COVID first made the headlines. We were literally among the first people in America to be quarantined for COVID. It’s a humorous look at our family’s adventures on the ill-fated “Corona Cruise.” Of course, we found nothing humorous about COVID. But traveling with three small children made our family’s experiences lighthearted and funny. New York Times Best-Selling author Francine Rivers said this about “Thriving in Quarantine”: “With his signature humor and strong faith, Barney Cargile shows how God meets us anywhere and everywhere… A thoroughly enjoyable read about life under quarantine.”

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I try to work on writing every day, even if it’s just jotting down some notes. I love to sit under our grape arbor, looking at our goats and sheep in our field.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Bob Goff, John Eldredge, and Mike Rowe have all influenced me through their writing styles and overall messages.

What are you working on now?
I’m working on a memoir entitled “American Epic: The Space Race, Arms Race, and a Home-Run Race.” It’s a great cross-section of what life was like to grow up as a baby-boomer. It’s filled with humor and inspiration.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Up to now, I haven’t used any book promotion websites. I’ve relied on a launch team to help promote it. A few months ago, I joined Chandler Bolt’s Self-Publishing School, and I’m beginning to discover some of the many tools available in book promotion.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Enjoy the journey!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a sales professional, ESL and Creative Writing Instructor and author who has written over 50 books in various genres under multiple pen names. However, my most fulfilling project to date has been this 3-part book, How to be Happy, a project designed to motivate and inspire. I’ve lived and worked in various countries (the Caribbean, Latin America, USA). I now live in Ontario, Canada, with my teenage son.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book, How to be Happy, was inspired by the fact that, after having been diagnosed with an incurable illness which has left me disabled, I am now happier than I was when I was at my healthiest. That’s because I’ve found the secret sauce, the ultimate happiness hack for living a fulfilled life. That’s what this book is all about.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Despite the advances in technology, I still write by putting pen to paper; that’s how I am best able to flesh out my ideas.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve learned so much from the books of self development and time management guru, Brian Tracy (Eat That Frog, etc.).

I’ve also enjoyed, and been influenced by, all the Marketing books written by Al Ries.

What are you working on now?
At the moment, I’m working on a sweet cowboy romance about a mail order bride who ended up going to the wrong farmstead by accident. Of course, like the happily-ever-after outcomes that romance readers love, it worked out wonderfully in the end!

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
The method that gave me the most success was Bookbub, but upfront payment is expensive and the chances of being accepted are slim. Now, my main promo method is simply giving away the first book free. If readers like the first book, hopefully they will move on to get the next ones in the series.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Even when sales slow down, keep on writing. You never know when one of your books may take off, or when a new platform may open. If so, you want to be ready with tons of other material for your new-found audience/ readers. (Catherine Bybee’s story of success – when the ebook revolution happened, she was ready!)

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Start your day by tackling your most important task. Eat That Frog – Brian Tracy.

What are you reading now?
Mastering the Money Mindset by H. Warren Browne

What’s next for you as a writer?
Focus on motivational material, whether nonfiction or fiction.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
How to be Happy – J. A. Powell (to keep me happy)
The Wolf and the Dove – Kathleen Woodiwiss (to find escape in romance)
Million Dollar Habits – Brian Tracy (to keep me productive)

Elena Nix

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Elena Nix is an author of erotic fiction. A lifetime love of literature and a very naughty mind proved to be the perfect combination for elevated erotica. Her imagination has some dark twists and frequently, her books do, too. When she’s not wrangling wayward characters or taming twisted plots, her favorite place to be is curled up on the couch with her assortment of dogs, cats, and one husband, writing stories on her laptop that would make a succubus blush.

Published works include Out In the Night, Reclaiming His Rights, The Witch of Rosemary Lane, and Passion…or Prey? Readers can sign up to be notified of new releases by sending an email to Elena@NixErotica.com.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Witch of Rosemary Lane was inspired by the beautiful autumn weather, a perpetually dirty mind, and musings about what makes a witch a “witch.”

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I frequently work on several projects at a time, bouncing around between stories as the inspiration hits. It keeps the writing fresh and helps me avoid writer’s block.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Every book I read adds something to my understanding of writing and storytelling. The authors who have inspired and influenced me most are J.R.R. Tolkien, Dean Koontz (early books), Raymond Chandler, and Anne McCaffrey.

What are you working on now?
My current project is Thief. It’s erotic fiction featuring an assistant district attorney turned art thief who is caught red-handed by her admirer.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
www.allauthor.com

Do you have any advice for new authors?
After finishing your book, set it aside for several weeks before you edit it. You’ll catch more errors that way and you’ll have an easier time recognizing overused words or phrases.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
For a very thorough proofreading, use the text-to-speech function on your word processor and listen to your work. It’s very time-consuming, but you will find mistakes and awkward phrasing that you would never discover by reading it.

What are you reading now?
The Drowning Pool by Ross MacDonald

What’s next for you as a writer?
More writing. Always more writing.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Complete Works of Emily Dickinson, Lord of the Rings trilogy, and The Complete Works of O. Henry.

Peter Okutu

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am an author, singer, content creator and a publisher. Along side, I do ghostwriting for people and blogs.
I have ghostwritten about 8 books and self published 3 in my own capacity as an author. I do ghostwriting because sometimes I want to share ideals on subjects that are outside the niche am known for.
It is a great pleasure and delight to be on this noble platform.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“Mindset of love and happy people,” is my latest book.
I got inspired to write this book after I encountered someone I deeply admired but realized the person was insecure — insecure because she felt she wasn’t good enough.
I could very well relate because at a point in my high school education, I felt the same.
I realized most of the problem has to do with our mindset. So I decided to study the subject so that together with my experience, I could be of help of others who feel the same.
Stress and depression is killing people more than most killer diseases does.

This book is my story of how I overcame low self esteem.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, I do. I don’t consider myself a prolific writer.
I usually write when am inspired to share on a subject.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love reading, and have hence devoured a lot of books. It would be hard to pin point particular books since almost all the authors and books were influencing in different ways.
But just to mention that Brain Tracy, Myles Munroe, Napoleon Hill and Dale Carnegie have been a great influence on my writing carrier.

What are you working on now?
I am currently working on promoting my new book, “Mindset of love and happy people.” It’s a message every home needs to hear, I believe.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I just discovered this site, “awesome gang. com.” I honestly think it’s the best so far, judging from how easy it was to find my way around it.
I haven’t explored much of other platforms, however, yet. I love the author interview session.
And it’s even amazing that they offer free services.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
I would recommend this site for new authors looking for great platforms to market their books.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Your words can make and unmake you.

What are you reading now?
Change your thinking by Brain Tracy

What’s next for you as a writer?
I intend starting my next project around the comments that would come from the review my latest book, mindset of love and happy people.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie
Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill
Get lost Satan by David Oyedepo
The purpose driven life by Rick Warren

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a writer, educator, thinker, and an eternal optimist. Armed with a Masters in English Literature and 14 years experience as an educator, heading the English department dovetails with a lifelong enthusiasm for literature. After chasing deadlines, negotiating nerve wracking schedules and trying to infuse love towards the written word during the course of a day, it is the world of books, the land of fantasy and the fervour of writing that keeps me motivated.

My debut collection of poems, Meandering Expressions, was published on amazon in October 2020. My debut novel, It Must’ve Been Love, but… has just been published worldwide by Booklocker.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I am excited by the 5 * reviews and praise for my recently published contemporary romance, It Must’ve Been Love, but… The novel is a candid contemplation into the caprices of the human mind and emotions. It explores themes of love, loss, self actualisation and debunks several stereotypes associated with Indian women in particular.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Hmm… I write in my mind while bird watching! Every morning and evening, as I watch these feathered friends, it inspires me to write and at times, an entire poem and large parts of my novel get written in my mind that I type out later on 🙂

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I grew up on a staple of the Classics: Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Brontë Sisters… and transitioned to writers like Orwell, Atwood, Shashi Tharoor, Rushdie, Adichie, Elif Shefak and a host of non-fiction writing. I particularly enjoy reading memoirs and biographies.

What are you working on now?
I am working on my second novel, a multi-generational saga chronicling the lives of three women and my second collection of poems, Moods, Moorings and Memories.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I love the Writing Community on Twitter and the enormous support that they offer to fellow writers. YouTube interviews have a huge appeal and a good literary discussion works well for both the writers as well as the readers/ viewers. I have my own Youtube channel – The Writer Talks! dedicated to promoting indie writers as well as established ones.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write from the heart and edit with all your heart! Writing and editing are interwoven and ought to be treated with equal importance. A well-edited piece invariably receives accolades for having been well-written as well. Secondly, writing what one believes in, being true to one’s own voice and style is the best way to write.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Not only is it the best advice but has worked extremely well for me: Writing everyday! Rather than await inspiration and procrastinate, writing each day, setting aside a specific time for it enhances productivity and helps stay on course as well.

What are you reading now?
Currently I am doing a beta reading for an unpublished, a brilliantly written novel by Wendy Waters. Besides that, I am reading Elif Shefak’s 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World.

What’s next for you as a writer?
It has been a huge learning experience since last year, ever since I turned a published writer. I am eagerly hoping to be published traditionally and toying with an idea for a political satire.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Extremely hard choice! I would head for my laptop so that I could read several books… Considering it is a desert island with no electricity, I would pick up my novel, one of Shakespeare’s tragedies, Austen and P G Wodehouse to feed my soul 🙂

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
One of my fondest memories from childhood was an “ah ha” writing moment. My 4th grade teacher chose my story for the class reading circle, but she didn’t tell the class I’d written it. At the end she revealed that their classmate had written it. The class gasped in appreciation and burst into applause. From that moment I was hooked on writing! I had loads of natural creativity, but my teacher got after me for my grammar and spelling. She explained how important these two things would be if I were going to be a good writer, so thereafter I became a meticulous spelling, punctuation and grammar-checker, which made me a proficient editor. I have a good teacher to thank for her encouragement, but also for requiring me to push myself to master the difficulties of the English language.
All of my books are indies, except for my autobiography, which I felt needed the attention that only a publisher could give. Certain books are helped by the expertise of a publisher, while others can stand alone. I felt that “Messages From Metatron” didn’t need a publisher’s intervention as it was channeled material and not fictional. I write non-fiction which like fiction requires careful editing, but fiction is a different animal completely. In my opinion, fiction requires a publisher’s hand in shaping the storyline and characters. The other big plus in being an imide author is that you retain the lion’s share of the royalties, and you can choose how to best market your book. Being an indie author doesn’t pay like having a fulltime job does; I advise people to do it on the side because in the book market, competition is fierce. I became a writer because I have to do it-something compels me to keep writing. If you cannot not do it, then you’re meant to write.
I have written 10 books, published 7, but more publishing in 2022.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
After 4 years of struggling with serious depression my 15 year old teen daughter secretly took herself off of her depression medication. It proved to be a deadly decision, because 3 days later she took her own life in the next room as I slept. I wrote about my journey through grief in my autobiography, “Once The Storm Is Over: From Grieving To Healing After The Suicide Of My Daughter” (Big Table Publishing, 2015). Walking had become like a therapy for me, so several years later I was walking my dog when I distinctly heard my daughter’s voice. It startled me so much that I came to a complete halt. All she said was: “Mama, listen for the voice.” I thought maybe my mind was playing tricks on me. The 2nd anniversary of her death was fast approaching, and I had been thinking as I walked that day of how Moriyah might look in the afterlife, her face glowing and celestial. I didn’t know what voice she was talking about, but I promised her that I would be listening for it. It was several weeks later that I received the first message from Archangel Metatron. It took me 3 years to compile all 30 messages, and I added a study guide with 30 lessons. “Messages From Metatron” is a powerful curriculum for those seeking to achieve spiritual transformation.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My next book is also a channeled metaphysical book about Archangels, “Ten Archangels Teach You How To Live An Inspired Life.” Receive the ten most powerful Archangel’s wisdom and healing so you can live an inspired life. It contains instructions from the Archangels of the Tree of Life on how to create greater joy and healing, and includes Guided Meditations on invoking and working with the Archangels. It includes lessons and daily guidance from the greatest of the Archangels, including: Archangel Michael, Raphael and Gabriel. If channeling Archangels isn’t unusual, I don’t know what will be!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve enjoy fictional blockbuster authors such as: J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter), but I truly savor non-fiction books that teach you about humanity and help you to improve; self-help books such as autobiographies. A time-tested example is Dale Carnagie’s books on Human Relations. I was inspired as a young adult by motivational, non-fiction books on how to improve yourself and boost your career success, and how to overcome obstacles and difficulties in life. That’s why I write non-fiction today, to help answer existential questions that give readers a better quality of life.

What are you working on now?
Knowing that there are launch dates looming, I’m ever reaching for my computer, seeking new ways to market my books and develop a larger audience. Work gives me a sense of purpose, and the Archangel series I’m working on now has gifted me with a particularly strong sense of meaning. The Archangel’s messages are charged with love and peace. It is 3-volumne curriculum designed for those seeking to achieve spiritual transformation. The underlying themes are that humanity is one, and you are an indispensable part of the Cosmic design.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Smashwords pays better royalties than Amazon, that’s the main reason I decided to branch out and give them a try. Years back, Amazon and Barnes and Noble were the only online booksellers. Not so today-there are now a pluthera of choices in where to sell your books. I also like the Pre-Sale format that they offer. Although other online book sellers offer your books for Pre-Sale, Amazon doesn’t automatically approve your Pre-Sale request the way Smashwords does. Smashword’s Pre-Sale format is also more enticing than is Amazons with its countdown meter.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
It’s true in writing, and more true in life: Get comfortable with the person you are, not the person others want you to be. I believe that my uniqueness, my strangeness, if you will, is what makes me relevant and marketable. Our “us-ness” makes us shine apart from the crowd. I’ve discovered that being willing to look strange, different, even outlandish is a marketing plus. I guess that quality could be called courage. And while persistence and courage will take you a long way towards your goals, the most powerful, unstoppable force is the power of vulnerability. Being real, honest and open are keys to knowing yourself and loving yourself. I’m unstoppable not because I’m perfect, but because I’m unafraid to be me.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
To be brave in my writing. To me, that means to write straight from the heart. Don’t try to hide or cover up the ugliness of life. Your audience already knows that life is messy; now they want to hear how yours is, so they can relate to you.

What are you reading now?
I’m reading classics right now, as I believe that reading great writers will make me a better writer. I’m currently reading the 1954 classic, “Lord of the Flies,” by William Golding. I also usually read all of a favorite author’s books. Sometimes I will branch out and try a new author if the subject matter is interesting. I’m the same about movies-I have seen every movie that comedian Melissa McCarthy has made because I know that even if the script is crap, Melissa won’t disappoint.

What’s next for you as a writer?
After I publish my next 2 Archangel books, that completes the series of three. I’ve also written an esoteric book, “The Emerald Tablets of Thoth: A Study Guide.” So publishing my next 3 books will keep me engaged for awhile.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bhagavad Gita, as I am a Hindu and that’s quintessential scripture. Another book would be by one of my favorite authors, who wrote, “Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood,” Rebecca Wells. The first book in that series is, “Little Altars Everywhere,” and makes me laugh every time I read it, as it transports me back to the carefree days of childhood. Being marooned on an island, I’m going to need a sure laugh. The other two books would be survival manuals, of course.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m an Indie Author living on Prince Edward Island, Canada. A & J PEI Treasures is the umbrella name we’ve given to our endeavours. We are a husband and wife team and our companion animals Sam the Wonder Dog and Ramses the Great (cat). There are a number of things that drew us to the Island…one of which was the natural beauty of the area. Somewhat retiring and reclusive, we enjoy constructing things from wood and renovating our place, upcycling, fashion upcycling, photography, writing, and a simpler lifestyle. Jean also enjoys crochet, knitting, sewing and a vareity of other arts and crafts.
We hope you enjoy our books!

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest e-book is The Big Kid’s Magical Path to Insects in Nature. I was inspired by the amount of activity that goes on in plain site, but that we often overlook. I enjoyed finding the insects in the pictures that I took. They often are found feeding from the variety of beautiful flowering plants that grow wild in the area.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I try to keep in the habit of writing. I have a WordPress blog and an Anchor Podcast that is available in a variety of formats and am also on several other Podcast sites. The Podcast just gives my blog in a audio format. I work on e-books and other writing. So, it keeps me writing and finding creative ways to use my photography which is also part of my e-books.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’m a bit of a historical fiction and historical non-fiction reader. I think it would be interesting to see some of history. I’m also a fan of Anne Rice. I suppose the fact that some people are creeped out by insects made it somewhat attractive. For me it was not so much who influenced me, as that I wanted to do something different. I have discovered that Prince Edward Island does not even have it’s own category for books. At least on the forums that I use.

What are you working on now?
I have an idea for one more Magical Path e-book, but time will tell. I am also working on a longer term project of my own writing paired with photographs.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m not sure. Currently I am on Twitter and find that it is an interesting forum.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
It’s cliche but do what you love and love what you do. With the huge number of e-books and books available on the market now, it is highly competitive. Be your creative best. Be the best you can be. There are different markets and places to sell your e-books.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Just be yourself. There are a lot of things that people say, but this one give you the best chance to find something that will result in being happy. Prtending to be something or someone you aren’t will just exhaust you and people will eventually find the truth. Truth is the safest choice. There is less to remember.

What are you reading now?
I generally, because I’m on a budget that doesn’t leave a lot of room for extra’s either borrow from the library or I find free e-books. When I read a free e-book, I usually make sure to leave feedback for the author. It’s not easy being an author and it seems that I can help new authors.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I hope to continue to develop and improve upon my art. The thing about photographic e-books is that it can be enjoyed on a variety of levels. So, though some show as children’s e-books, there is the possibility of them being enjoyed by the parents and the children. There is very little to remember so can be enjoyed by people with memory deficits as well.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
Something by Christian Jacq (Ancient Egypt), Something by Anne Rice and something with Tudor Historical Fiction.

Daniel Lyne

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi, I have a passion for preaching and teaching the Word of God.
So far I have written 2 Books and am in the process of editing book 3 and working on Book 4.

Based in Tasmania, Australia, I am committed to building the Church locally as well as Globally. Through varying degrees of involvement both in leadership and supporting roles of ministry and missions organizations, I desire to see the Body of Christ develop and grow into the unified and powerful Church that Jesus spoke about.

As a father to 7 incredible children and husband to an amazing wife, I have been blessed to see the power of the Word have an enormous effect on my own home and life. With deliverance from many health, financial and physical situations, Kylee and I are a living testimony to the power of the Gospel and the unfailing promises that are found in God’s word.

I provide Daily Teachings on my blog and Youtube Channel to ensure that people are getting fed daily with the Word of God… because Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God! (Romans 10:17)

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called ‘The Greatest Faith’ and it is inspired by the account in Matthew 8 of the Centurion who met Jesus and asked him to heal his servant. Although Jesus was willing to go to the man’s house, he stopped Jesus and said ‘Only say the word and it shall be done!’

That was BOLD Faith.
Knowing that only speaking the word was all it would take.

This book is a call for all of us to look at the promises in the Bible and rise up to the challenge of taking God at his word, and believing that it will come to pass.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Nope. Just normal ones like keeping a stock of Chocolate and hot coffee on my desk while I play focus music.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have definitely been influenced by numerous amount of authors, that it would be impossible to list them all. John Maxwell has been a big player though as has Ken Blanchard. Leonard Ravenhill’s book ‘Why Revival Tarries’ is probably my most read book on the shelf beside the Bible.

What are you working on now?
The book is called ‘Victory of Anxiety’ and it is a look at dealing with Depression, Anxiety and religious baggage that keeps many Christians defeated. Having dealt with it in our own home for over a decade before we discovered the power of the Word. Also working with other people to assist them with the tools and answers that we found in the Bible, this book is a look at many of the religious ‘beliefs’ that are more traditions and man-made rules than anything else. It’s these things that keep people defeated and powerless.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Amazon ads have been the best method so far. But I am certainly looking for more.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Get started. Don’t get overwhelmed by the process.
Sit down with a pen and paper and create a ‘mind-map/brainstorm’ where you put your main idea in the middle, and then create 3-5 points coming off the middle. These are your main ‘points’ in the book. Break each point into a further 3-5 subpoints and you easily have 12-25 chapters to write about.
Now, just open a text editor (the simpler the better) and start writing out what you worked out above. Don’t try and format it or edit it, but rather just start writing and see what comes out, then you can edit it afterwards as you connect all the subpoints together.

Add your intro, and you have a book ready to go!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved!

In regards to writing…
Don’t try, Do!

What are you reading now?
I never learned to doubt – Jesse Duplantis

What’s next for you as a writer?
Get working on promoting my next book.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
1. The Bible (It goes everywhere with me)
2. A book on How to find food on a desert island
3. A book on simple boat building
